1Psychophysiological Effects of Bamboo Plants on Adults显示文摘The present study was conducted to clarify the psychophysiological relaxation effects of viewing bamboo on university students. Forty healthy Chinese participants enrolled in this study to clarify the psychophysiological relaxation effects of viewing bamboo. The effects of visual stimulation using a pot both with and without a bamboo were recorded by measuring the student's blood pressure, EEG and STAI. We observed that viewing bamboo plants resulted in significantly lower systolic(female, P < 0.001; male, P < 0.001; P < 0.05) and diastolic(female,P < 0.001; male, P < 0.001; P < 0.05) blood pressures, but no changes in the pulse rate(female, P = 0.09; male, P = 0.07; P > 0.05) were observed. The results of the EEG analysis indicated brainwave variation(all P < 0.05) and lower anxiety scores(P < 0.01) after 3 min of viewing bamboo compared with the control. 2PdNi/C低温高效催化湿式氧化无害化处理氨氮废水显示文摘氨氮废水对环境的危害日益严重,催化湿式氧化技术能高效无害化处理氨氮废水,但现有催化剂工作条件苛刻.采用化学还原法制备2%Pd1%Ni/C双金属催化剂,并考察了其氨氮废水催化湿式氧化性能.结果表明:Pd和Ni的结合使得PdNi/C催化剂在更低贵金属用量的前提下,比相对应的单贵金属催化剂(Pd/C)具有更优的催化性能,尤其是低温催化性能.在每千克催化剂每小时处理约33 L模拟废水(氨氮的质量浓度为1 000 mg/L,pH=12)及反应压强为2 MPa处理3 h的条件下:在140℃时,2%Pd1%Ni/C催化剂能催化氧化脱除废水中99.0%的氨氮,且N_2选择性为90.5%;而3%Pd/C和3%Ni/C催化剂的氨氮转化率仅分别为86.4%和50.6%;即使在120℃的温和条件下,采用2%Pd1%Ni/C催化剂也能脱除80%以上的氨氮.采用X射线衍射(XRD)、X射线光电子能谱(XPS)、CO程序升温还原(CO-TPR)对PdNi/C催化剂进行表征,结果表明Pd和Ni之间的协同作用调变了催化剂的亲氧性能,进而提高了氨氮转化率.王子丹 Hameed Sohaib 张诺伟 陈秉辉 2018厦门大学学报(自然科学版)2018,57,1:6
3Seismic fragility assessment of existing sub-standard low strength reinforced concrete structures显示文摘An analytical seismic fragility assessment framework is presented for the existing low strength reinforced concrete structures more common in the building stock of the developing countries.For realistic modelling of such substandard structures,low strength concrete stress-strain and bond-slip capacity models are included in calibrating material models.Key capacity parameters are generated stochastically to produce building population and cyclic pushover analysis is carried out to capture inelastic behaviour.Secant period values are evaluated corresponding to each displacement step on the capacity curves and used as seismic demand.A modified capacity demand diagram method is adopted for the degrading structures,which is further used to evaluate peak ground acceleration from back analysis considering each point on the capacity curve as performance point.For developing fragility curves,the mean values of peak ground acceleration are evaluated corresponding to each performance point on the series of capacity curves.A suitable probability distribution function is adopted for the secant period scatter at different mean peak ground acceleration values and probability of exceedance of limit states is evaluated.A suitable regression function is used for developing fragility curves and regression coefficients are proposed for different confidence levels.Fragility curves are presented for a low rise pre-seismic code reinforced concrete structure typical of developing countries.Sohaib Ahmad Nicolas Kyriakides Kypros Pilakoutas Kyriacos Neocleous Qaiser uz Zaman 2015Earthquake Engineering and Engineering Vibration2015,14,3:3

6Structural, electronic, and optical properties of ZnO_(1-x)Se_x alloys using first-principles calculations显示文摘The structural, electronic, and optical properties of binary ZnO, ZnSe compounds, and their ternary ZnO 1-x Se x alloys are computed using the accurate full potential linearized augmented plane wave plus local orbital (FP-LAPW + lo) method in the rocksalt (B1) and zincblende (B3) crystallographic phases. The electronic band structures, fundamental energy band gaps, and densities of states for ZnO 1-x Se x are evaluated in the range 0 ≤ x ≤ 1 using Wu-Cohen (WC) generalized gradient approximation (GGA) for the exchange-correlation potential. Our calculated results of lattice parameters and bulk modulus reveal a nonlinear variation for pseudo-binary and their ternary alloys in both phases and show a considerable deviation from Vegard's law. It is observed that the predicted lattice parameter and bulk modulus are in good agreement with the available experimental and theoretical data. We establish that the composition dependence of band gap is semi-metallic in B1 phase, while a direct band gap is observed in B3 phase.
