| 1 | Advances in biomaterials and regenerative medicine for primary ovarian insufficiency therapy显示文摘Primary ovarian insufficiency(POI)is an ovarian dysfunction that affects more than 1%of women and is characterized by hormone imbalances that afflict women before the age of 40.The typical perimenopausal symptoms result from abnormal levels of sex hormones,especially estrogen.The most prevalent treatment is hormone replacement therapy(HRT),which can relieve symptoms and improve quality of life.However,HRT cannot restore ovarian functions,including secretion,ovulation,and fertility.Recently,as part of a developing field of regenerative medicine,stem cell therapy has been proposed for the treatment of POI.Thus,we recapitulate the literature focusing on the use of stem cells and biomaterials for POI treatment,and sum up the underlying mechanisms of action.A thorough understanding of the work already done can aid in the development of guidelines for future translational applications and clinical trials that aim to cure POI by using regenerative medicine and biomedical engineering strategies. | Sichen Zhang Dashuai Zhu Xuan Mei Zhenhua Li Junlang Li Mengjie Xie Halle Jiang Williams Lutz Shaowei Wang Ke Cheng | 2021 | Bioactive Materials2021,6,7: | 9 |
| 2 | A novel battery scheme:Coupling nanostructured phosphorus anodes with lithium sulfide cathodes显示文摘Lithium-ion batteries are approaching their theoretical limit and can no longer keep up with the increasing demands of human society.Lithium-sulfur batteries,with a high theoretical specific energy,are promising candidates for next generation energy storage.However,the use of Li metal in Li-S batteries compromises both safety and performance,enabling dendrite formation and causing fast capacity degradation.Previous studies have probed alternative battery systems to replace the metallic Li in Li-S system,such as a Si/Li2S couple,with limited success in performance.Recently,there is a focus on red P as a favorable anode material to host Li.Here,we establish a novel battery scheme by utilizing a P/C nanocomposite anode and pairing it with a Li2S coated carbon nanofiber cathode.We find that red P anode can be compatible in ether-based electrolyte systems and can be successfully coupled to a Li2S cathode.Our proof of concept full-cell displays remarkable specific capacity,rate and cycling performances.We expect our work will provide a useful alternative system and valuable insight in the quest for next generation energy storage devices. | David Sichen Wu Guangmin Zhou Eryang Mao Yongming Sun Bofei Liu Li Wang Jiangyan Wang Feifei Shi Yi Cui | 2020 | Nano Research2020,13,5: | 4 |
| 3 | Recent Advances in Two-Dimensional Magnets:Physics and Devices towards Spintronic Applications显示文摘The emergence of low-dimensional nanomaterials has brought revolutionized development of magnetism,as the size effect can significantly influence the spin arrangement.Since the first demonstration of truly two-dimensional magnetic materials(2DMMs)in 2017,a wide variety of magnetic phases and associated properties have been exhibited in these 2DMMs,which offer a new opportunity to manipulate the spin-based devices efficiently in the future.Herein,we focus on the recent progress of 2DMMs and heterostructures in the aspects of their structural characteristics,physical properties,and spintronic applications.Firstly,the microscopy characterization of the spatial arrangement of spins in 2D lattices is reviewed.Afterwards,the optical probes in the light-matter-spin interactions at the 2D scale are discussed.Then,particularly,we systematically summarize the recent work on the electronic and spintronic devices of 2DMMs.In the section of electronic properties,we raise several exciting phenomena in 2DMMs,i.e.,long-distance magnon transport,field-effect transistors,varying magnetoresistance behavior,and(quantum)anomalous Hall effect.In the section of spintronic applications,we highlight spintronic devices based on 2DMMs,e.g.,spin valves,spin-orbit torque,spin field-effect transistors,spin tunneling field-effect transistors,and spin-filter magnetic tunnel junctions.At last,we also provide our perspectives on the current challenges and future expectations in this field,which may be a helpful guide for theorists and experimentalists who are exploring the optical,electronic,and spintronic properties of 2DMMs. | Vertikasari PNingrum Bowen Liu Wei Wang Yao Yin Yi Cao Chenyang Zha Hongguang Xie Xiaohong Jiang Yan Sun Sichen Qin Xiaolong Chen Tianshi Qin Chao Zhu Lin Wang Wei Huang | 2020 | Research2020,,1: | 2 |
| 4 | Estimation of surface ozone concentration over Jiangsu province using a high-performance deep learning model显示文摘Recently,the global background concentration of ozone(O_(3))has demonstrated a rising trend.Among various methods,groun-basedmonitoring of O_(3)concentrations is highly reliable for research analysis.To obtain information on the spatial characteristics of O_(3)concentrations,it is necessary that the groundmonitoring sites be constructed in sufficient density.In recent years,many researchers have used machine learning models to estimate surface O_(3)concentrations,which cannot fully provide the spatial and temporal information contained in a sample dataset.To solve this problem,the current study utilized a deep learning model called the Residual connection Convolutional Long Short-Term Memory network(RConvLSTM)to estimate daily maximum8-hr average(MDA8)O_(3)over Jiangsu province,China during 2020.In this research,the R-ConvLSTM model not only provides the spatiotemporal information ofMDA8 O_(3),but also involves residual connection to avoid the problem of gradient explosion and gradient disappearance with the deepening of network layers.We utilized the TROPOMI total O_(3)column retrieved fromSentinel-5 Precursor,ERA5 reanalysismeteorological data,and other supplementary data to build a pre-trained dataset.The R-ConvLSTM model achieved an overall sample-base cross-validation(CV)R^(2)of 0.955 with root mean square error(RMSE)of 9.372μg/m^(3).Model estimation also showed a city-based CV R^(2)of 0.896 with RMSE of 14.029μg/m^(3),the highest MDA8 O_(3)in spring being 122.60±31.60μg/m^(3)and the lowest in winter being 69.93±18.48μg/m^(3). | Xi Mu Sichen Wang Peng Jiang Yanlan Wu | 2023 | Journal of Environmental Sciences2023,,10: | 1 |
| 5 | Characteristics of Photosynthetic Fluorescence of Dominant Submerged Plants in Nanjishan Wetland of Poyang Lake in Winter显示文摘Based on the investigation of the species and frequency of submerged plants in Nanjishan Wetland of Poyang Lake in the winter of 2013,chlorophyll contents and photosynthetic fluorescence characteristics of the dominant submerged plants were studied using chlorophyll fluorescence imaging method. The results indicate that the major submerged plants of Nanjishan Wetland in Poyang Lake in winter included Hydrilla verticillata,Vallisneria natans,Najas minor,Potamogeton pectinatus,Nymphoides peltatum,Myriophyllum verticillatum and so on,and the dominant species were mainly H. verticillata and V. natans in different submerged plant communities. The chlorophyll content of H. verticillata is higher than that of V.natans,and the photosynthesis intensity of H. verticillata is stronger than that of V. natans. The value of Ca / Cb of H. verticillata is not large,which shows that the light-harvesting capacity of H. verticillata's chlorophyll is considerable in different sampling sites. | 6 | Shen Qi Wan attenuates renal interstitial fibrosis through upregulating AQP1显示文摘Renal interstitial fibrosis(RIF)is the crucial pathway in chronic kidney disease(CKD)leading to the end-stage renal failure.However,the underlying mechanism of Shen Qi Wan(SQW)on RIF is not fully understood.In the current study,we investigated the role of Aquaporin 1(AQP1)in SQW on tubular epithelial-to-mesenchymal transition(EMT).A RIF mouse model induced by adenine and a TGF-β1-stimulated HK-2 cell model were etablished to explore the involvement of AQP 1 in the protective effect of SQW on EMT in vitro and in vivo.Subsequently,the molecular mechanism of SQW on EMT was explored in HK-2 cells with AQP1 knockdown.The results indicated that SQW alleviated kidney injury and renal collagen deposition in the kidneys of mice induced by adenine,increased the protein expression of E-cadherin and AQP1 expression,and decreased the expression of vimentin andα-smooth muscle actin(α-SMA).Similarly,treatmement with SQW-containing serum significantly halted EMT process in TGF-β1 stimulated HK-2 cells.The expression of snail and slug was significantly upregulated in HK-2 cells after knockdown of AQP1.AQP1 knockdown also increased the mRNA expression of vimentin andα-SMA,and decreased the expression of E-cadherin.The protein expression of vimentin increased,while the expression of E-cadherin and CK-18 significantly decreased after AQP1 knockdown in HK-2 cells.These results revealed that AQP1 knockdown promoted EMT.Furthermore,AQP1 knockdown abolished the protective effect of SQW-containing serum on EMT in HK-2 cells.In sum,SQW attentuates EMT process in RIF through upregulation of the expression of AQP1. | LIN Yiyou WEI Jiale ZHANG Yehui HUANG Junhao WANG Sichen LUO Qihan YU Hongxia JI Liting ZHOU Xiaojie LI Changyu | 2023 | Chinese Journal of Natural Medicines2023,21,5: | 1 |

| 8 | A trifunctional contraceptive gel enhances the safety and quality of sexual intercourse显示文摘Current contraceptive methods come with a number of drawbacks,including low efficacy,in the case of commercial contraceptive gels,and a reduction in the quality of sexual intercourse,in the case of condoms.Adding pharmacologically-active agents to contraceptive gels holds the potential to improve sexual experience,and hardbor safety and hygiene.In this study,we fabricated a carbomer-based contraceptive gel consisting of three agents:tenofovir,gossypol acetate,and nitroglycerin(TGN),with pH adjusted to 4.5(to be compatible with the vagina).In vitro,the gossypol component of the contraceptive gel proved to be an effective spermicide.When the concentration of gossypol acetate was 10 mg/ml,the spermicidal ability reached 100%after 30 s.In addition,tenofovir in the gel significantly inhibited lentiviral transfection efficiency in cell-containing media.In 6 pairs of rats,the gel successfully prevented all females from conceiving after successful mating.Moreover,increased sexual frequency and enhanced erection,which were promoted by the nitroglycerin in the components,were observed in male rats that had the gel applied to their penises.This novel TGN contraceptive gel yielded a higher contraceptive success rate than that of the commercial contraceptive gel(Contragel®).In addition,it has the added benefits to prevent sexually transmitted diseases and improve male libido and erectile function during sexual intercourse.Combining three FDA-approved and marketed agents together,our trifunctional TGN gel has a great potential for further translation and commercialization. | Mengjie Xie Junlang Li Sichen Zhang Dashuai Zhu Xuan Mei Zhenzhen Wang Xiao Cheng Zhenhua Li Shaowei Wang Ke Cheng | 2021 | Bioactive Materials2021,6,6: | 1 |

| 11 | Physiological,transcriptome and gene functional analysis provide novel sights into cadmium accumulation and tolerance mechanisms in kenaf显示文摘Kenaf is considered to have great potential for remediation of heavy metals in ecosystems.However,studies on molecular mechanisms of root Cd accumulation and tolerance are still inadequate.In this study,two differently tolerant kenaf cultivars were selected as materials and the physiological and transcriptomic effects were evaluated under Cd stress.This study showed that 200μmol/L CdCl_(2) treatment triggered the reactive oxygen species(ROS)explosion and membrane lipid peroxidation.Compared with the Cd-sensitive cultivar‘Z',the Cd-tolerant cultivar‘F'was able to resist oxidative stress in cells by producing higher antioxidant enzyme activities and increasing the contents of ascorbic acid(AsA)and glutathione(GSH).The root cell wall of‘F'exhibited higher polysaccharide contents under Cd treatment,providing more Cd-binding sites.There were 3,439 differentially expressed genes(DEGs)that were co-regulated by Cd treatment in two cultivars.Phenylpropanoid biosynthesis and plant hormone signal transduction pathways were significantly enriched by functional annotation analysis.DEGs associated with pectin,cellulose,and hemi-cellulose metabolism were involved in Cd chelation of root cell wall;V-ATPases,ABCC3 and Narmp3 could participated in vacuolar compartmentalization of Cd;PDR1 was responsible for Cd effux;the organic acid transporters contributed to the absorption of Cd in soil.These genes might have played key roles in kenaf Cd tolerance and Cd accumulation.Moreover,HcZIP2 was identified to be involved in Cd uptake and transport in kenaf.Our findings provide a deeper understanding of the molecular pathways underlying Cd accumulation and detoxification mechanisms in kenaf. | Shan Cao Meng Wang Jiao Pan Dengjie Luo Samavia Mubeen Caijin Wang Jiao Yue Xia Wu Qijing Wu Hui Zhang Canni Chen Muzammal Rehman Sichen Xie Ru Li Peng Chen | 2024 | Journal of Environmental Sciences2024,,3: | 0 |

Generally,1 500 g/hm^2 was the best dosage of MCPA-Na in foxtail millet production. | 19 | Fabrication of 3D hollow acorn-shell-like PtBi intermetallics via a surfactant-free pathway for efficient ethylene glycol electrooxidation显示文摘The synthesis of atomically ordered Pt-based intermetallic electrocatalysts for the direct alcohol fuel cells generally requires the addition of surfactants or the high-temperature annealing.However,some residual surfactants on the surface of the assynthesized catalysts would prevent the exposure of catalytic active sites,the high-temperature annealing process is easy to accelerate the sintering of the metal,which both lead to the decline of electrocatalytic performance.Herein,we construct the atomically ordered bimetallic PtBi intermetallics with clean surfaces and unique three-dimensional hollow acorn-shell-like structure(3D PtBi HASL)by a simple,low-temperature,surfactant-free one-pot synthetic approach.Benefiting from the special hollow structures,the obtained 3D PtBi HASL intermetallics expose abundant accessible active sites.Moreover,the introduction of oxophilic metal Bi can enhance adsorption of OHads,thereby significantly facilitating removal of poisoned intermediates.Density functional theory(DFT)simulations further indicate that formation of the PtBi intermetallic phase with the downshift of the Pt d-band center endows 3D Pt49.4Bi50.6 HASL intermetallics with significantly attenuated COads and enhanced OHads adsorption,bringing about the boosting electrocatalytic property.The mass activity of the 3D Pt49.4Bi50.6 HASL intermetallics for ethylene glycol oxidation reaction is as high as 24.67 A·mgPt^(−1),which is 12.98 times higher than that of commercial Pt/C(1.90 A·mgPt^(−1)).This work may inspire the design of Pt-based intermetallics as high-efficiency anode electrocatalysts for fuel cell applications. | Tingting Wan Xin Huang Sichen Li Qiuyu Li Xianlong Yang Zhenjie Sun Dong Xiang Kun Wang Peng Li Manzhou Zhu | 2023 | Nano Research2023,16,5: | 0 |
| 20 | Geological structure and dynamic mechanism of the Termit rift basin in West African rift system显示文摘Based on seismic and drilling data in the study area,the geological structure and kinematic process of the Termit rift basin were studied using seismic profile interpretation and balanced restoration to find out the dynamic mechanism of the basin.(1)The geological structure of the Termit Basin is represented as a narrow rift basin,with development of series of structural styles in extensional,extensional strike-slip and compressional stress setting.On plane,it is narrow in the north and wide in the south,and transitions from graben to half-graben from north to south;it features a graben controlled by the boundary faults in the north and a fault-overlapped half-graben in the south.(2)Before the Cretaceous,a series of hidden faults developed in the West African rift system,which laid the foundation for the development location and distribution direction of the Termit Basin;during the Cretaceous to Paleogene periods,the basin experienced two phases of rifting in Early Cretaceous and Paleogene,which controlled the initial structure and current structural shape of the basin respectively;during the Neogene to Quaternary,the basin was subjected to weak transformation.(3)In the Precambrian,the Pan-African movement gave rise to a narrow and long weak zone within the African plate,which provided the pre-existing structural conditions for the formation of the Termit Basin.In the Early Cretaceous,affected by the South Atlantic rifting,the Pan African weak zone was reactivated,resulting in the first stage of rifting and the basic structural framework of the Termit Basin.In the Paleogene,affected by the subduction and convergence of the Neo-Tethys Ocean,the African-Arabian plate extended in near E-W trending,and the Termit Basin experienced the second stage of rifting.The oblique extension in this period caused intense structural differentiation,and the current structural pattern of alternate uplifts and depressions took shape gradually. | WANG Tao YUAN Shengqiang LI Chuanxin MAO Fengjun PANG Sichen JIANG Hong ZHENG Fengyun | 2022 | Petroleum Exploration and Development2022,49,6: | 0 |
