1Expert consensus on early childhood caries management显示文摘Early childhood caries(ECC)is a significant chronic disease of childhood and a rising public health burden worldwide.ECC may cause a higher risk of new caries lesions in both primary and permanent dentition,affecting lifelong oral health.The occurrence of ECC has been closely related to the core microbiome change in the oral cavity,which may be influenced by diet habits,oral health management,fluoride use,and dental manipulations.So,it is essential to improve parental oral health and awareness of health care,to establish a dental home at the early stage of childhood,and make an individualized caries management plan.Dental interventions according to the minimally invasive concept should be carried out to treat dental caries.This expert consensus mainly discusses the etiology of ECC,caries-risk assessment of children,prevention and treatment plan of ECC,aiming to achieve lifelong oral health.Jing Zou Qin Du Lihong Ge Jun Wang Xiaojing Wang Yuqing Li Guangtai Song Wei Zhao Xu Chen Beizhan Jiang Yufeng Mei Yang Huang Shuli Deng Hongmei Zhang Yanhong Li Xuedong Zhou 2022International Journal of Oral Science2022,14,3:5

13Saturation Estimation with Complex Electrical Conductivity for Hydrate-Bearing Clayey Sediments:An Experimental Study显示文摘Clays have considerable influence on the electrical properties of hydrate-bearing sediments.It is desirable to understand the electrical properties of hydrate-bearing clayey sediments and to build hydrate saturation(S_(h))models for reservoir evaluation and monitoring.The electrical properties of tetrahydrofuran-hydrate-bearing sediments with montmorillonite are characterized by complex conductivity at frequencies from 0.01 Hz to 1 kHz.The effects of clay and Sh on the complex conductivity were analyzed.A decrease and increase in electrical conductance result from the clay-swelling-induced blockage and ion migration in the electrical double layer(EDL),respectively.The quadrature conductivity increases with the clay content up to 10%because of the increased surface site density of counterions in EDL.Both the in-phase conductivity and quadrature conductivity decrease consistently with increasing Sh from 0.50 to 0.90.Three sets of models for Sh evaluation were developed.The model based on the Simandoux equation outperforms Archie’s formula,with a root-mean-square error(E_(RMS))of 1.8%and 3.9%,respectively,highlighting the clay effects on the in-phase conductivity.The fre-quency effect correlations based on in-phase and quadrature conductivities exhibit inferior performance(E_(RMS)=11.6%and 13.2%,re-spectively)due to the challenge of choosing an appropriate pair of frequencies and intrinsic uncertainties from two measurements.The second-order Cole-Cole formula can be used to fit the complex-conductivity spectra.One pair of inverted Cole-Cole parameters,i.e.,characteristic time and chargeability,is employed to predict S_(h) with an E_(RMS) of 5.05%and 9.05%,respectively.XING Lanchang ZHANG Shuli ZHANG Huanhuan WU Chenyutong WANG Bin LAO Liyun WEI Wei HAN Weifeng WEI Zhoutuo GE Xinmin DENG Shaogui 2024Journal of Ocean University of China2024,23,1:0
14Expert consensus on difficulty assessment of endodontic therapy显示文摘Endodontic diseases are a kind of chronic infectious oral disease. Common endodontic treatment concepts are based on the removal of inflamed or necrotic pulp tissue and the replacement by gutta-percha. However, it is very essential for endodontic treatment to debride the root canal system and prevent the root canal system from bacterial reinfection after root canal therapy(RCT). Recent research, encompassing bacterial etiology and advanced imaging techniques, contributes to our understanding of the root canal system’s anatomy intricacies and the technique sensitivity of RCT. Success in RCT hinges on factors like patients, infection severity, root canal anatomy, and treatment techniques. Therefore, improving disease management is a key issue to combat endodontic diseases and cure periapical lesions. The clinical difficulty assessment system of RCT is established based on patient conditions, tooth conditions, root canal configuration, and root canal needing retreatment, and emphasizes pre-treatment risk assessment for optimal outcomes. The findings suggest that the presence of risk factors may correlate with the challenge of achieving the high standard required for RCT. 16MEF2C ameliorates learning,memory,and molecular pathological changes in Alzheimer’s disease in vivo andin vitro显示文摘Myocyte enhancer factor 2C(MEF2C)is highly expressed in the nervous system,and regulates neuro-development,synaptic plasticity,and inflammation.However,its mechanism in Alzheimer’s disease(AD)is underestimated.In this study,the role and mechanism of MEF2C were investigated in the brain tissue specimens from patients with AD,APPswe/PSEN1dE9 double transgenic(APP/PS1_DT)mice,and SH-SY5Y cells treated withβ-amyloid peptide(Aβ).The results indicated that the expression of MEF2C is significantly reduced,and the expression of MEF2C/Aβin different parts of brain is negatively correlated in patients with AD.Knockdown of MEF2C promotes cell apoptosis and the level ofβ-amyloid precursor protein cleaving enzyme 1(BACE)but reduces BACE2 expression.In addition,knockdown of Mef2c enhances the generation and aggregation of Aβin the cortex of APP/PS1_DT mice,reduces the expression of synaptic proteins,exacerbates the ability of learning and memory of APP/PS1_DT mice,damages the structure of mitochondria,increases the oxidative stress(OS)level,and inhibits the expression levels of members of the Nrf2-ARE signal pathway.In summary,inhibition of MEF2C exacerbates the toxic effect of Aβin vivo and in vitro,damages synaptic plasticity,reduces the ability of learning and memory of APP/PS1 mice,and increases the level of OS via the Nrf2-ARE signal pathway.Jiamou Ren Shuli Zhang Xiaoling Wang Yuxin Deng Yi Zhao Yan Xiao Jian Liu Liangzhao Chu Xiaolan Qi 2022Acta Biochimica et Biophysica Sinica2022,54,1:0
17Rapid growth of angle-confined large-domain graphene bicrystals显示文摘In the chemical vapor deposition growth of large-area graphene polycrystalline thin films, the coalescence of randomly oriented graphene domains results in a high density of uncertain grain boundaries (GBs). The structures and properties of various GBs are highly dependent on the misorientation angles between the graphene domains, which can significantly affect the performance of the graphene films and impede their industrial applications. Graphene bicrystals with a specific type of GB can be synthesized via the controllable growth of graphene domains with a predefined lattice orientation. Although the bicrystal has been widely investigated for traditional bulk materials, no successful synthesis strategy has been presented for growing two-dimensional graphene bicrystals. In this study, we demonstrate a simple approach for growing well-aligned large-domain graphene bicrystals with a confined tilt angle of 30° on a facilely recrystallized single-crystal Cu (100) substrate. Control of the density of the GBs with a misorientation angle of 30° was realized via the controllable rapid growth of subcentimeter graphene domains with the assistance of a cooperative catalytic surface-passivation treatment. 19High-throughput sequencing identifies salivary microbiota in Chinese caries-free preschool children with primary dentition显示文摘Objectives:The study aimed at identifying salivary microbiota in caries-free Chinese preschool children using highthroughput sequencing.Methods:Saliva samples were obtained from 35 caries-free preschool children(18 boys and 17 girls)with primary dentition,and 16 S ribosomal DNA(r DNA)V3–V4 hypervariable regions of the microorganisms were analyzed using Illumina MiSeq.Results:At 97%similarity level,all of these reads were clustered into 334 operational taxonomic units(OTUs).Among these,five phyla(Firmicutes,Proteobacteria,Actinobacteria,Bacteroidetes,and Candidate division TM7)and13 genera(Streptococcus,Rothia,Granulicatella,Prevotella,Enterobacter,Veillonella,Neisseria,Staphylococcus,Janthinobacterium,Pseudomonas,Brevundimonas,Devosia,and Gemella)were the most dominant,constituting 99.4%and 89.9%of the salivary microbiota,respectively.The core salivary microbiome comprised nine genera(Actinomyces,Capnocytophaga,Gemella,Granulicatella,Lachnoanaerobaculum,Neisseria,Porphyromonas,Rothia,and Streptococcus).Analysis of microbial diversity and community structure revealed a similar pattern between male and female subjects.The difference in microbial community composition between them was mainly attributed to Neisseria(P=0.023).Furthermore,functional prediction revealed that the most abundant genes were related to amino acid transport and metabolism.Conclusions:Our results revealed the diversity and composition of salivary microbiota in caries-free preschool children,with little difference between male and female subjects.Identity of the core microbiome,coupled with prediction of gene function,deepens our understanding of oral microbiota in cariesfree populations and provides basic information for associating salivary microecology and oral health.Lei XU Zhifang WU Yuan WANG Sa WANG Chang SHU Zhuhui DUAN Shuli DENG 2021Journal of Zhejiang University-Science B(Biomedicine & Biotechnology)2021,22,4:0
