1Comparative efficacy of various exercise interventions on cognitive function in patients with mild cognitive impairment or dementia:A systematic review and network meta-analysis显示文摘Background:Exercise is a promising nonpharmacological therapy for cognitive dysfunction,but it is unclear which type of exercise is most effective.The objective of this study was to compare and rank the effectiveness of various exercise interventions on cognitive function in patients with mild cognitive impairment(MCI)or dementia and to examine the effects of exercise on the symptoms relevant to cognitive impairment.Methods:We searched PubMed,Web of Science,Embase,Cochrane Central Register of Controlled Trials,SPORTDiscus,and PsycInfo through September 2019 and included randomized controlled trials that examined the effectiveness of exercise interventions in patients with MCI or dementia.Primary outcomes included global cognition,executive cognition,and memory cognition.Secondary outcomes included activities of daily living,neuropsychiatric symptoms,and quality of life.Pairwise analyses and network meta-analyses were performed using a random effects model.Results:A total of 73 articles from 71 trials with 5606 participants were included.All types of exercise were effective in increasing or maintaining global cognition,and resistance exercise had the highest probability of being the most effective intervention in slowing the decrease in global cognition(standard mean difference(SMD)=1.05,95%confidence interval(95%CI):0.56-1.54),executive function(SMD=0.85,95%CI:0.21-1.49),and memory function(SMD=0.32,95%CI:0.01-0.63)in patients with cognitive dysfunction.Subgroup analyses for patients with MCI revealed different effects,and multicomponent exercise was most likely to be the optimal exercise therapy for preventing the decline of global cognition(SMD=0.99,95%CI:0.44-1.54)and executive function(SMD=0.72,95%CI:0.06-1.38).However,only resistance exercise showed significant effects on memory function for patients with MCI(SMD=0.35,95%CI:0.01-0.69).Exercise interventions also showed various effects on the secondary outcomes.Conclusion:Resistance exercise has the highest probability of being the optimal exercise type for slowing cognitive declin e in patients withcognitive dysfunction,especially in patients with dementia.Multicomponent exercise tends to be most effective in protecting global cognition and executive function in patients with MCI.Xiuxiu Huang Xiaoyan Zhao Bei Li Ying Cai Shifang Zhang Qiaoqin Wan Fang Yu 2022Journal of Sport and Health Science2022,11,2:19

3Biofilm-inspired adhesive and antibacterial hydrogel with tough tissue integration performance for sealing hemostasis and wound healing显示文摘Uncontrolled bleeding and infection can cause significant increases in mortalities.Hydrogel sealants have attracted extensive attention for their ability to control bleeding.However,because interfacial water is a formidable barrier to strong surface bonding,a challenge remains in finding a product that offers robust tissue adhesion combined with anti-infection properties.Inspired by the strong adhesive mechanism of biofilm and mussels,we report a novel dual bionic adhesive hydrogel(DBAH)based on chitosan grafted with methacrylate(CS-MA),dopamine(DA),and N-hydroxymethyl acrylamide(NMA)via a facile radical polymerization process.CS-MA and DA were simultaneously included in the adhesive polymer for imitating the two key adhesive components:polysaccharide intercellular adhesin(PIA)of staphylococci biofilm and 3,4-dihydroxy-L-phenylalanine(Dopa)of mussel foot protein,respectively.DBAH presented strong adhesion at 34 kPa even upon three cycles of full immersion in water and was able to withstand up to 168 mm Hg blood pressure,which is significantly higher than the 60–160 mm Hg measured in most clinical settings.Most importantly,these hydrogels presented outstanding hemostatic capability under wet and dynamic in vivo movements while displaying excellent antibacterial properties and biocompatibility.Therefore,DBAH represents a promising class of biomaterials for high-efficiency hemostasis and wound healing.Wei Han Bo Zhou Kai Yang Xin Xiong Shifang Luan Yu Wang Zheng Xu Peng Lei Zhengshan Luo Jian Gao Yijing Zhan Guopu Chen Lei Liang Rui Wang Sha Li Hong Xu 2020Bioactive Materials2020,5,4:6
4Obtained transgenic wheat expressing pac1 mediated by Agrobacterium is resistant against Barley yellow dwarf virus-GPV显示文摘In fission yeast (Schizosaccharomyces pombe), pac1 gene was cloned with 99.3% nucleo- tide sequence similarity with published pac1 in GenBank. In pET-5α expression system, the expres- sion product of cloned pac1 in E. coli showed activity to degrade the double-strand RNA. Harboring the binary vector pBI121, which contains pac1 gene, Agrobacterium tumefaciens strain LBA4404 was used to transform the wheat immature embryos pre- cultured 7―10 d. After preregeneration, regeneration and selection culture stage, totally 41 G418 resistant plants were obtained, in which 25 lines were proved to integrate with transgene and express transgene normally by PCR, Dot blot, RT-PCR and ELISA de- tection. Antivirus test carried out on 25 positive lines with high dose of Barley yellow dwarf virus-GPV re- vealed that 12 lines had resistance to BVDV-GPV in low level, another 12 lines had resistance to BVDV- GPV in middle level, and 1 line showed resistance to BVDV-GPV in high level. 5Efficacy and Economic Evaluation of Nonbiological Artificial Liver Therapy in Acute-on-chronic Hepatitis B Liver Failure显示文摘Background and Aims:Nonbiological artificial liver(NBAL)is frequently used as a first-line treatment for hepatitis B virus-associated acute-on-chronic liver failure(HBV-ACLF).This study aimed to compare the therapeutic efficacy and cost-effectiveness ratio(CER)of comprehensive medical treatment,plasma exchange(PE),and double plasma molecular adsorption system(DPMAS)plus half-dose PE(DPMAS+PE)in patients with HBV-ACLF.Methods:A total of 186 patients with HBV-ACLF randomly received comprehensive medical treatment,PE,or DPMAS+PE and were prospectively evaluated.Patients were divided into four subgroups based on the pretreatment prothrombin activity(PTA):Group I(PTA>40%),group II(PTA 30–40%),group III(PTA 20–30%),and group IV(PTA<20%).The main outcome measures were 28 day effectiveness;90 day liver transplantation-free survival;change of biochemical parameters;and CER.Results:DPMAS+PE treatment was associated with significantly higher 28 day effectiveness and 90 day liver transplantation-free survival compared with PE treatment in patients with group I liver failure.Clearance of serum total bilirubin(TBIL),AST,and creatinine(Cr)were significantly higher in the DPMAS+PE group than in the PE group.For subjects with group I liver failure,DPMAS+PE treatment had advantages of lower CER values and better cost-effectiveness.Conclusions:Compared with comprehensive medical treatment and PE alone,DPMAS with halfdose sequential PE treatment more effectively improved TBIL,AST,and Cr in HBV-ACLF patients,improved 28 day effectiveness and 90 day survival rates in patients with group I liver failure,and was more cost effective.DPMAS+PE is a viable NBAL approach for treatment of HBV-ACLF.Cichun Wu Wenting Peng Da Cheng Huimin Gu Fei Liu Shifang Peng Lei Fu 2023Journal of Clinical and Translational Hepatology2023,11,2:5
6Phase Ⅱ open-label study of recombinant circularly permuted TRAIL as a single-agent treatment for relapsed or refractory multiple myeloma显示文摘Background: Despite the recent development of new therapies, multiple myeloma(MM) remains an incurable disease. Thus, new, efective treatments are urgently needed, particularly for relapsed or refractory MM(RRMM). In an earlier phase I study, a novel form of recombinant human Apo2L/tumor necrosis factor-related apoptosis-inducing ligand(TRAIL) that is currently in clinical development for the treatment of hematologic malignancies, i.e., circularly permuted TRAIL(CPT), was well tolerated at a dose of 2.5 mg/kg per day and showed promising preliminary activity in patients with RRMM. This phase II, open-label, multicenter study further investigated the eicacy and safety of 2.5-mg/kg per day CPT as single-agent therapy for patients with RRMM.Methods: Patients with RRMM were treated once daily with CPT(2.5 mg/kg, intravenously) for 14 consecutive days for each 21-day cycle. Clinical response and toxicity were assessed after each treatment cycle.Results: Twenty-seven patients received CPT. Using the European Group for Blood and Marrow Transplantation criteria, we calculated the overall response rate of 33.3% with 1 near-complete response(n CR) and 8 partial responses(PRs). The clinical beneit rate(48.1%) included 1 nCR, 8 PRs, and 4 minimal responses. The most common treatmentrelated adverse events(TRAEs) were fever, aspartate aminotransferase elevation, alanine aminotransferase elevation, leucopenia, rash, neutropenia, and thrombocytopenia. We graded toxicity using the Common Toxicity Criteria for Adverse Events, version 3.0, and determined that 37.0% of patients had at least 1 grade 3–4 TRAE.Conclusions: CPT as a single agent can elicit a response in patients with RRMM and is well tolerated. 8Bimetal-organic frameworks derived Co/N-doped carbons for lithium-sulfur batteries显示文摘Lithium-sulfur(Li-S) batteries have received extensive attention due to their high theoretical specific energy density.However,the utilization of sulfur is seriously reduced by the shuttle effect of lithium polysulfides and the low conductivity of sulfur and lithium sulfide(Li2S).Herein,we introduced bimetalorganic frameworks(Co/Zn-ZIF) derived cobalt and nitrogen-doped carbons(Co/N-C) into Li-S batteries through host design and sepa rator modification.The Co/N-C in Li-S batteries effectively limits the shuttle effect through simultaneously serving as polysulfide traps and chemical catalyst.As a result,the Li-S batteries deliver a high reversible capacity of 1614.5 mAh/g and superior long-term cycling stability with a negligible capacity decay of only 0.04% per cycle after 1000 cycles.Furthermore,they have a high area capacity of 5.5 mAh/cm2.Shifang Jiang Shuo Huang Minjie Yao Jiacai Zhu Lili Liu Zhiqiang Niu 2020Chinese Chemical Letters2020,31,9:4

Since foundry industry is one of the major source of energy consumption and pollution emission (especially CO 2 ), issues concerning energy-saving and emission-reduction have been raised by governments and the industry. Specialists from around the world carried out multidimensional analyses and evaluation on the potentials in energy conservation and emissions reduction in iron and steel industry, and proposed various kinds of analyzing models. The primary measures mainly focus on the targeted policies formulation and also on clean and highefficient technologies development. 14Loss of CREST leads to neuroinflammatory responses and ALS-like motor defects in mice显示文摘Background:Amyotrophic lateral sclerosis(ALS)is a late onset neurodegenerative disease with fast progression.ALS has heavy genetic components in which a series of genetic mutations have been identified.In 2013,Mutations of the CREST gene(also known as SS18L1),which functions as a calcium-regulated transcriptional activator,were found in sporadic ALS patients.However,the pathogenic causality and mechanisms of ALS-associated mutations of CREST remain to be determined.Methods:In this study,we constructed CREST knockout and Q394X knock-in mice with CRISPR/Cas9 system.Using biochemical and imaging tools,we illustrated core pathological phenotypes in CREST mutant mice and claimed the possible pathogenic mechanisms.Furthermore,we also observed locomotion defects in CREST mutant mice with behavioural tests.Results:We demonstrate that ALS-related CREST-Q388X mutation exhibits loss-of-function effects.Importantly,the microglial activation was prevalent in CREST haploinsufficiency mice and Q394X mice mimicking the human CREST Q388X mutation.Furthermore,we showed that both CREST haploinsufficiency and Q394X mice displayed deficits in motor coordination.Finally,we identified the critical role of CREST-BRG1 complex in repressing the expression of immune-related cytokines including Ccl2 and Cxcl10 in neurons,via histone deacetylation,providing the molecular mechanisms underlying inflammatory responses within mice lack of CREST.Conclusion:Our findings indicate that elevated inflammatory responses in a subset of ALS may be caused by neuron-derived factors,suggesting potential therapeutic methods through inflammation pathways.Cheng Cheng Kan Yang Xinwei Wu Yuefang Zhang Shifang Shan Aaron Gitler Anirvan Ghosh Zilong Qiu 2019Translational Neurodegeneration2019,8,1:2
15Dislocation-Induced Precipitation and Its Strengthening of Al–Cu–Li–Mg Alloys with High Mg显示文摘Generally, the good combination of pre-deformation and aging can improve the mechanical strength of the Al–Cu–Li–Mg alloys. However, the effects of pre-deformation on competitive precipitation relationship and precipitation strengthening have not been clarified in detail in Al–Cu–Li–Mg alloys with high Mg. In the present study, the effects of pre-deformation level on the microstructure and mechanical properties of an Al–2.95 Cu–1.55 Li–0.57 Mg–0.18 Zr alloy have been investigated. It is found that the introduction of dislocation by 5% pre-deformation can facilitate the precipitation of new successive composite precipitates and T _1 precipitates along the sub-grain boundaries or dislocations and inhibit the precipitation of dispersive GPB zones which is the main precipitates of the alloys without pre-deformation. The introduction of 5% pre-deformation can enhance the mechanical properties considerably. When the pre-deformation level increases from 5 to 15%, the number density of the successive composite precipitates and T _1 precipitates increases, and the aspect ratio of T _1 precipitates decreases. The decrease in T _1 precipitate aspect ratio and the increment of the successive composite precipitates result in the reduction in precipitation strengthening. 16调强适形放疗在乳腺癌保乳术后应用的系统评价(英文)显示文摘Objective:The aim of this study was to assess the long-term effect of breast conservation with breast intensitymodulated radiotherapy (IMRT) for early-stage breast cancers.Methods:Pub Med,EMBASE,Cochrane Library,Chinese Biomedical Literature Database were searched to identify relevant original published trails,and the references of eligible studies were manually screened.Randomized controlled trails reported in any language,comparing breast IMRT with conventional radiotherapy (RT) in patients with early-stage breast cancer were eligible for inclusion.Two investigators independently assessed the quality of included trials and extracted data.The RevMan 5.0 software was used for statistical analysis.Results:Four trials involving 1440 patients were included.The results showed that in the IMRT group,the occurrence of acute moist dermatitis,the edema of the mammary gland and the occurrence of hyperpigmentation were lower than those of RT group,the pooled risk ratio value and 95% confidence interval were 0.28 (0.17-0.48),0.03 (0.00-0.21) and 0.06 (0.02-0.15) respectively.The use of IMRT did not correlate with pain and quality of life,but the presence of moist desquamation did significantly correlate with pain and reduced quality of life.Conclusion:The currently available evidence showed that IMRT significantly reduces the occurrence of moist acute dermatitis anywhere in the breast and alleviates the suffering of patients and improves the quality of life of patients.Future large-scale,high-quality,double-blind trials are needed.Xiupeng Ye Ling Su Xiaohu Wang Kehu Yang inhui Tian Qiuning Zhang Qiang Wang Xiaojun Li Yuqing Kang Liyun Guo Ruifeng Liu Shifang Feng 2010The Chinese-German Journal of Clinical Oncology2010,9,12:2
17Opportunities and challenges for the development of polymer-based biomaterials and medical devices显示文摘Biomaterials and medical devices are broadly used in the diagnosis,treatment,repair,replacement or enhancing functions of human tissues or organs.Although the living conditions of human beings have been steadily improved in most parts of the world,the incidence of major human’s diseases is still rapidly growing mainly because of the growth and aging of population.The compound annual growth rate of biomaterials and medical devices is projected to maintain around 10%in the next 10 years;and the global market sale of biomaterials and medical devices is estimated to reach$400 billion in 2020.In particular,the annual consumption of polymeric biomaterials is tremendous,more than 8000 kilotons.The compound annual growth rate of polymeric biomaterials and medical devices will be up to 15-30%.As a result,it is critical to address some widespread concerns that are associated with the biosafety of the polymer-based biomaterials and medical devices.Our group has been actively worked in this direction for the past two decades.In this review,some key research results will be highlighted.Jinghua Yin Shifang Luan 2016Regenerative Biomaterials2016,3,2:2
