1Demographics, societal aging, and meat consumption in China显示文摘Drawn on the data collected by surveying 1 340 urban households from six cities in China, this paper estimates the impacts of demographic structure and population aging on household meat consumption, by jointly considering meat consumed at home and away from home. Based on the trajectories of population, a simple simulation on meat demand trend in China is conducted subsequently. The results suggest: 1) Meat consumed away from home averagely accounts for near 30% of household total meat consumption in terms of quantity, so that its omission likely leads to a significant underestimate of total meat consumption and misunderstanding the driving forces; 2) population aging significantly and negatively affects per capita meat consumption, suggesting that the expected meat demand in China without considering population aging will be overestimated. 3Bemisia tabaci Phylogenetic Groups in India and the Relative Transmission Efficacy of Tomato leaf curl Bangalore virus by an Indigenous and an Exotic Population显示文摘Bemisia tabaci adults from various host-plant species were collected from 31 regions across India.266 B.tabaci samples were first screened by RAPD-PCR to examine molecular variability and to select individuals with different fingerprints.Host-plant and region of collection were then used to select 25 individuals for PCR amplification and sequencing of their partial mitochondrial cytochrome oxidase subunit one(mtCOI)genes.Pairwise comparisons with mtCOI consensus sequences showed that the majority of these samples had <3.5% sequence divergence from groups currently termed Asia I,Asia II-5,Asia II-7,and Asia II-8.The biotype-B B.tabaci from India clustered into the Middle East-Asia Minor 1 group.A new group of B.tabaci from Coimbatore,collected from pumpkin,was related most closely to the Asia I group(6.2% sequence divergence from the consensus Asia I sequence).To increase our understanding of the epidemiology of tomato leaf curl disease(ToLCD)and the key B.tabaci genetic groups involved in virus spread,the indigenous Asia I and the exotic biotype-B population from South India were used to carry out transmission experiments using Tomato leaf curl Bangalore virus(ToLCBV).The acquisition access periods(AAP),inoculation access periods(IAP),latent periods(LP),and ToLCBV transmission efficiencies of the two populations were compared and the biotype-B had the more efficient transmission characteristics.These results are discussed in relation to recent changes in the epidemiology of tomato leaf curl disease in South India.R V Chowda-Reddy M Kirankumar Susan E Seal V Muniyappa Girish B Valand M R Govindappa John Colvin 2012Journal of Integrative Agriculture2012,11,2:8
4医务人员呼吸道感染影响因素的巢式病例对照研究显示文摘目的探索医务人员在院内感染呼吸道传染病的影响因素,针对性的提出院感防范重点及感染控制改进建议。方法本研究采用巢式病例对照研究的方法。选取北京市东城区和西城区的9家二级以上医院,将符合条件的医务人员作为一个队列,对其医疗行为进行为期一个月的观察。依据咽拭子病原学检测结粜削定研究对象的呼吸道感染状况,并将他们分为病例组和对照组。通过问卷调查了解并比较肼组人员在职、眦暴露与防护行为等方面的差异。数据分析应用STATA11.0软件完成,危险因素的分析采用非条件Logistic回归。结果共有481名医务人员完成本次研究,随访率为100%。在481名研究对象中有40例经实验室确诊为呼吸道感染,纳入病例组,其他441人纳入对照组。单因素分析显示,医院级别、工作科室、高危操作、接触病人后洗手等四个因素可能与医务人员发生呼吸道感染相关。多因素非条件logistic回归分析发现,共有2个因素进入回归方程,其中从事高危操作(OR=2.42,95%CI1.06~5.50)为发生呼吸道感染的危险因素,接触病人后洗手(OR=0.41,95%CI0.19—0.89)为保护性因素。结论为防止医务人员在院内感染呼吸道传染病,针对其危险因素所采取的干预措施亟待开展。张奕 Chandini Raina MacIntyre 杨鹏 Holly Seale 王小莉 刘文婷 Simon Cauchemez Neil Ferguson 王全意 2011国际病毒学杂志2011,18,5:4
5Next Generation Transcriptome Sequencing and Quantitative Real-Time PCR Technologies for Characterisation of the Bemisia tabaci Asia 1 mtCOI Phylogenetic Clade显示文摘A programme of functional genomics research is underway at the University of Greenwich,UK,to develop and apply genomics technologies to characterise an economically-important but under-researched Bemisia tabaci(Hemiptera:Aleyrodidae),the Asia 1 mtCOI phylogenetic group.A comparison of this putative species from India with other important B.tabaci populations and insect species may provide targets for the development of more effective whitefly control strategies.As a first step,next-generation sequencing(NGS)has been used to survey the transcriptome of adult female whitefly,with high quality RNA preparations being used to generate cDNA libraries for NGS using the Roche 454 Titanium DNA sequencing platform.Contig assemblies constructed from the resultant sequences(301 094 reads)using the software program CLC Genomics Workbench generated 3 821 core contigs.Comparison of a selection of these contigs with related sequences from other B.tabaci genetic groups has revealed good alignment for some genes(e.g.,HSP90)but misassemblies in other datasets(e.g.,the vitellogenin gene family),highlighting the need for manual curation as well as collaborative international efforts to obtain accurate assemblies from the existing next generation sequence datasets.Nevertheless,data emerging from the NGS has facilitated the development of accurate and reliable methods for analysing gene expression based on quantitative real-time RT-PCR,illustrating the power of this approach to enable rapid expression analyses in an organism for which a complete genome sequence is currently lacking.Susan Seal Mitulkumar V Patel Carl Collins John Colvin David Bailey 2012Journal of Integrative Agriculture2012,11,2:2
6FLT3 tyrosine kinase inhibitors synergize with BCL-2 inhibition to eliminate FLT3/ITD acute leukemia cells through BIM activation显示文摘Tyrosine kinase inhibitors(TKIs)targeting FLT3 have shown activity but when used alone have achieved limited success in clinical trials,suggesting the need for combination with other drugs.We investigated the combination of FLT3 TKIs(Gilteritinib or Sorafenib),with Venetodax,a BCL-2 selective inhibitor(BCL-2i),on FLT3/ITD leukemia cells.The combination of a FLT3 TKI and a BCL-2i synergistically reduced cell proliferation and enhanced apoptosis/cell death in FLT3/ITD cell lines and primary AML samples.Venetoclax also re-sensitized FLT3 TKI-resistant cells to Gilteritinib or Sorafenib treatment,mediated through MAPK pathway inhibition.Gilteritinib treatment alone dissociated BIM from MCL-1 but increased the binding of BIM to BCL-2.Venetoclax treatment enhanced the binding of BIM to MCL-1 but dissociated BIM from BCL-2.Treatment with the drugs together resulted in dissociation of BIM from both BCL-2 and MCL-1,with an increased binding of BIM to the cell death mediator BAX,leading to increased apoptosis.These findings suggest that Venetoclax mitigates the unintended pro-survival effects of FLT3 TKI mainly through the dissociation of BIM and BCL-2 and also decreased BIM expression.This study provides evidence that the addition of BCL-2i enhances the effect of FLT3 TKI therapy in FLT3/ITD AML treatment.Ruiqi Zhu Li Li Bao Nguyen Jaesung Seo Min Wu Tessa Seale Mark Levis Amy Duffield Yu Hu Donald Small 2021Signal Transduction and Targeted Therapy2021,6,6:2
7Temperature-insensitive microwave absorption of TiB2-Al_(2)O_(3)/MgAl_(2)O_(4) ceramics based on controllable electrical conductivity显示文摘The design of the high-temperature microwave absorbing materials (MAMs) with temperature-insensitive and considerable microwave absorption (MA) capacity is a tremendous challenge.Ti B2-Al_(2)O_(3)/Mg Al_(2)O_(4) MAMs are prepared by the spark plasma sintering (SPS).Further,the influences of the Al_(2)O_(3) content on the flexural strength,thermal stability,high-temperature electrical conductivity,dielectric and MA properties are discussed.The results show that the Al_(2)O_(3) content is associated with flexural strength,high-temperature thermal stability,electrical conductivity,dielectric and MA properties.Meanwhile,the temperatureinsensitive and considerable MA properties with the minimum reflection loss (RLmin) ranging from -19.4 to -14.3 dB and the effective absorption bandwidth (EAB,RL<-5 dB) of 3.19–3.55 GHz are attained at 25°C–700°C in 8.2–12.4 GHz as the Al_(2)O_(3) content increases from 70.6 wt%to 80.6 wt%.This is ascribed to the compensating effect of the positive and negative temperature coefficient materials on the high-temperature electrical conductivity as well as the co-play of the dipolar and interfacial polarization at elevated temperatures.Consequently,Ti B2-Al_(2)O_(3)/Mg Al_(2)O_(4) ceramics exhibit the ideal prospect as the high-temperature MAMs.LIU XiongZhang ZHANG Sealing LUO Hui CHEN Fu LI DongMeng WANG Xian GONG RongZhou 2021Science China(Technological Sciences)2021,64,6:2

9Using on-site liver 3-D reconstruction and volumetric calculations in split liver transplantation显示文摘BACKGROUND: Split liver transplantation increases the number of grafts available for transplantation. Pre-recovery assessment of liver graft volume is essential for selecting suitable recipients. The purpose of this study was to determine the ability and feasibility of constructing a 3-D model to aid in surgical planning and to predict graft weight prior to an in situ division of the donor liver. METHODS: Over 11 months, 3-D volumetric reconstruction of 4 deceased donors was performed using Pathfinder Scout~? liver volumetric software. Demographic, laboratory, operative, perioperative and survival data for these patients along with donor demographic data were collected prospectively and analyzed retrospectively.RESULTS: The average predicted weight of the grafts from the adult donors obtained from an in situ split procedure were 1130 g(930-1458 g) for the extended right lobe donors and 312 g(222-396 g) for left lateral segment grafts. Actual adult graft weight was 92% of the predicted weight for both the extended right grafts and the left lateral segment grafts. The predicted and actual graft weights for the pediatric donors were 176 g and 210 g for the left lateral segment grafts and 308 g and 280 g for the extended right lobe grafts, respectively. All grafts were transplanted except for the right lobe from the pediatric donors due to the small graft weight.CONCLUSIONS: On-site volumetric assessment of donors provides useful information for the planning of an in situ split and for selection of recipients. 12Changing structure of China's meat imports显示文摘This paper discusses the determinants of meat imports of China. Results indicate that import demand is mostly determined by import price and real GDP. Imported price has a negative effect and real GDP has a positive influence on import quantity. Tariff does not have a significant effect. As GDP and consumption capacity increases, China has a large potential demand for meat imports.
