2Alveolar echinococcosis-spreading disease challenging clinicians: A case report and literature review显示文摘Human alveolar echinococcosis (AE) is a potentially deadly disease; recent studies have shown that the endemic area of Echinococcus multilocularis , its causative agent, is larger than previously known. This disease has low prevalence and remains underreported in Europe. Emerging clinical data show that diagnostic difficulties are still common. We report on a 76-year old patient suffering from AE lesions restricted to the left lobe of the liver who underwent a curative extended left hemihepatectomy. Prior to the resection a liver biopsy under the suspicion of an atypical malignancy was performed. After the intervention he developed a pseudoaneurysm of the hepatic artery that was successfully coiled. Surprisingly, during surgery, the macroscopic appearance of the tumour revealed a growth pattern that was rather typical for cystic echinococcosis (CE), i.e. , a gross tumour composed of multiple large vesicles with several centimeters in diameter. In addition, there were neither extensive adhesions nor infiltrations of the neighboring pancreas and diaphragm as was expected from previous imaging results. The unexpected diagnosis of AE was confirmed by definite histopathology, specific polymerase chain reaction and serology results. This is a rare case of unusual macroscopic presentation of AE that posed immense diagnostic challenges and had an eventful course. To our knowledge this is the first case of an autochthonous infection in this particular geographic area of Germany, the federal state of Saxony. 4Overcoming the fundamental light-extraction efficiency limitations of deep ultraviolet light-emitting diodes by utilizing transverse-magnetic-dominant emission显示文摘While the demand for deep ultraviolet(DUV)light sources is rapidly growing,the efficiency of current AlGaN-based DUV light-emitting diodes(LEDs)remains very low due to their fundamentally limited light-extraction efficiency(LEE),calling for a novel LEE-enhancing approach to deliver a real breakthrough.Here,we propose sidewall emission-enhanced(SEE)DUV LEDs having multiple light-emitting mesa stripes to utilize inherently strong transverse-magnetic polarized light from the AlGaN active region and three-dimensional reflectors between the stripes.The SEE DUV LEDs show much enhanced light output power with a strongly upward-directed emission due to the exposed sidewall of the active region and Al-coated selective-area-grown n-type GaN micro-reflectors.The devices also show reduced operating voltage due to better n-type ohmic contact formed on the regrown n-GaN stripes when compared with conventional LEDs.Accordingly,the proposed approach simultaneously improves optical and electrical properties.In addition,strategies to further enhance the LEE up to the theoretical optimum value and control emission directionality are discussed.Dong Yeong Kim Jun Hyuk Park Jong Won Lee Sunyong Hwang Seung Jae Oh Jungsub Kim Cheolsoo Sone EFred Schubert Jong Kyu Kim 2015Light(Science & Applications)2015,4,1:6
5稀土在硬质合金球形粉末烧结体表面的富集现象显示文摘采用合金粉末烧结体表面观察法研究了稀土在WC Co硬质合金中的作用机理。合金中的稀土分别以混合稀土(以La和Ce为主体成分) Co预合金粉形式和La(NO3)3的丙酮溶液形式在湿磨时直接加入。用扫描电镜和能谱仪对平均粒径小于200μm的2种球形稀土硬质合金粉末烧结体表面进行了观察与分析。研究结果表明:当以混合稀土 Co预合金粉形式加入稀土时,在烧结过程中,合金中的稀土La和Ce在合金粉末烧结体表面产生明显的富集,并与主要来自于烧结炉内气氛中的杂质元素形成了含La,Ce,S,Ca,W,C和O的复杂化合物;当以La(NO3)3形式加入稀土时,在合金粉末烧结体表面不存在La的富集或聚集。稀土的添加形式同时也影响合金粉末烧结体表面硬质相WC与粘结相的比例,当以混合稀土 Co预合金粉末形式加入稀土时,合金粉末烧结体表面粘结相含量较少。因此,稀土的添加形式影响其在硬质合金中的作用机理,当以混合稀土 Co预合金粉形式加入稀土时,合金中的稀土不但具有较强的富集杂质元素的作用,而且还可以阻止合金粉末烧结体表面富粘结相结构的形成。张立 黄伯云 陈述 SCHUBERT W D 2004中南大学学报(自然科学版)2004,35,5:6
6What every gastroenterologist needs to know about common anorectal disorders显示文摘Anorectal complaints are very common and are caused by a variety of mostly benign anorectal disorders.Many anorectal conditions may be successfully treated by primary care physicians in the outpatient setting,but patients tend not to seek medical attention due to embarrassment or fear of cancer.As a result,patients frequently present with advanced disease after experiencing significant decreases in quality of life.A number of patients with anorectal complaints are referred to gastroenterologists.However,gastroenterologists' knowledge and experience in approaching these conditions may not be sufficient.This article can serve as a guide to gastroenterologists to recognize,evaluate,and manage medically or non-surgically common benign anorectal disorders,and to identify when surgical referrals are most prudent.A review of the current literature is performed to evaluate comprehensive clinical pearls and management guidelines for each topic.Topics reviewed include hemorrhoids,anal fissures,anorectal fistulas and abscesses,and pruritus ani.Moonkyung Cho Schubert Subbaramiah Sridhar Robert R Schade Steven D Wexner 2009World Journal of Gastroenterology2009,15,26:5
7Lubiprostone used with polyethylene glycol in diabetic patients enhances colonoscopy preparation quality显示文摘AIM: To assess the additive effect of lubiprostone on the quality of colon preparation in diabetics given single-dosed polyethylene glycol electrolyte(PEG)for colonoscopy.METHODS:This was an investigator-initiated,singlecenter,single-blinded prospective trial comparing the efficacy of L+PEG to PEG alone on colon preparation quality in diabetics undergoing screening colonoscopy.The study was approved by our institution’s IRB.The PEG was given as a single-dose to address patientcompliance concerns voiced by our IRB with splitdosing.All patients received only clear liquids the day prior to colonoscopy.Experimental group(Grp L)received PEG+1 dose L 2 h prior to and 2 h after PEG completion.Control group(Grp C)received only PEG the evening prior to the colonoscopy.Patients were randomly assigned to one of the 2 groups.The endoscopist was blinded to which colon prep was given and all colonoscopies were complete.Upon colonoscopy completion,the endoscopist rated the colon prep-quality by a validated 5-point Likert scale(1-excellent to 5-inadequate).RESULTS:Sixty patients were enrolled in the study;30 Grp L and 30 Grp C.Overall,patients were excluded due to study non-completion in 12(41%)Grp L and 5(17%) Grp C,P=0.04.Average colon preparation score Grp L =2.47 and Grp C=3.00,P=0.09.Although this was not statistically significant,there was a trend towards improved colon prep in Grp L.Statistical significance may have been achieved if completion rates had been similar between both study groups.CONCLUSION:Use of 2-L capsules with PEG resulted in a trend towards improved colon prep over PEG alone in diabetic patients when given as a single-dose regimen.Erika Grigg Moonkyung C Schubert Joshua Hall Fadi Rahhal Dimple Raina Subbaramiah Sridhar Sherman M Chamberlain 2010World Journal of Gastrointestinal Endoscopy2010,2,7:5

11Structure-property relationships in ILs: A study of the alkyl chain length dependence in vaporisation enthalpies of pyridinium based ionic liquids显示文摘The enthalpies of vaporization for the series of pyridinium-based ionic liquids with bis(trifluoromethylsulfonyl)imide anion [CnPy][NTf2] (n = 2, 3, 4, 5, and 6) have been determined with the quartz crystal microbalance technique combined with the Langmuir evaporation. The linear dependence of vaporization enthalpies on the chain length has been revealed. 15纯氧气氛下硬质合金及其原料的热稳定性显示文摘采用差热分析法研究了纯氧气氛下WC粉、Co粉、RE Co预合金粉、WC 8Co硬质合金的热稳定性以及稀土对硬质合金热稳定性的影响。研究结果表明:费氏粒度分别为0.51μm和0.93μm的WC粉和Co粉分别在392℃和282℃就开始明显氧化,由于湿磨过程的活化作用与破碎作用,硬质合金混合料的热稳定性进一步降低,因此,在制备硬质合金混合料特别是超细硬质合金混合料的过程中对湿磨介质、混合料干燥方式与干燥温度等应进行严格选择与控制;在湿磨过程中,稀土以RE Co预合金粉形式加入制备成含稀土的硬质合金,在混合料制备过程中RE Co预合金粉不会发生明显氧化,其热稳定性与硬质合金基本原料WC粉和Co粉的热稳定性相当;稀土的添加量对WC Co硬质合金的热稳定性影响不大,在合金中加入稀土不能使合金的明显氧化起始温度得到显著提高;在约700℃,WC 8Co硬质合金发生明显氧化,因此,WC 8Co硬质合金的实际使用温度应低于700℃。张立 陈述 SCHUBERT WD 黄伯云 吴恩熙 2004中南大学学报(自然科学版)2004,35,6:3
