| 1 | Clinical significance of molecular diagnosis for gastric cancer lymph node micrometastasis显示文摘Advances in molecular diagnostic tools have allowed the identification of lymph node micrometastasis(LNM),including isolated tumor cells,in cancer patients. While immunohistochemistry and reverse transcription-polymerase chain reaction have been used to identify LNM in patients with gastric cancer,the clinical significance of this finding remains unclear. Recently,minimally invasive treatments,such as endoscopic submucosal dissection and laparoscopic surgery,are widely performed to help improve postsurgical quality of life(QOL). However,it is important to maintain the balance between QOL and curability when making treatments decision for patients with gastric cancer. If minimally invasive surgery based on accurate intraoperative LNM diagnosis was established,it could be performed safely. | 2 | A rare case of primary choriocarcinoma in the sigmoid colon显示文摘Primary colorectal choriocarcinoma is an extremely rare neoplasm and is usually associated with a poor prognosis.Only 13 cases of colorectal choriocarcinoma have previously been reported.There is no standard chemotherapeutic regimen for this tumor type.A 68-year-old man presented with melena and was diagnosed with sigmoid colonic adenocarcinoma with multiple liver metastases.He underwent a laparoscopic sigmoidectomy.Pathology revealed choriocarcinoma with a focal component of moderately differentiated adenocarcinoma of colon origin.Based on the collagen gel droplet-embedded culture drug sensitivity test(CD-DST)results,mFOLFOX6 and bevacizumab were administered,which suppressed aggressive tumor growth for 4 mo.The patient died 9 mo after the initial diagnosis.Our study results suggest that the standard chemotherapy regimen for colorectal cancer might have suppressive effects against primary colorectal choriocarcinoma.Moreover,CD-DST may provide,at least in part,therapeutic insight for the selection of appropriate antitumor agents for such patients. | Hiromitsu Maehira Tomoharu Shimizu Hiromichi Sonoda Eiji Mekata Tomoharo Yamaguchi Tohru Miyake Mitsuaki Ishida Tohru Tani | 2013 | World Journal of Gastroenterology2013，19，39： | 6 |
| 3 | Sentinel lymph node navigation surgery for gastric cancer: Does it really benefit the patient?显示文摘Sentinel lymph node(SLN) navigation surgery is accepted as a standard treatment procedure for malignant melanoma and breast cancer. However, the benefit of reduced lymphadenectomy based on SLN examination remains unclear in cases of gastric cancer. Here, we review previous studies to determine whether SLN navigation surgery is beneficial for gastric cancer patients. Recently, a large-scale prospective study from the Japanese Society of Sentinel Node Navigation Surgery reported that the endoscopic dual tracer method, using a dye and radioisotope for SLN biopsy, was safe and effective when applied to cases of superficial and relatively small gastric cancers. SLN mapping with SLN basin dissection was preferred for early gastric cancer since it is minimally invasive. However, previous studies reported that limited gastrectomy and lymphadenectomy may not improve the patient's postoperative quality of life(QOL). As a result, the benefit of SLN navigation surgery for gastric cancer patients, in terms of their QOL, is limited. | 4 | Phenol-based endoscopic ultrasound-guided celiac plexus neurolysis for East Asian alcohol-intolerant upper gastrointestinal cancer patients:A pilot study显示文摘AIM:To investigate the effectiveness of phenol for the relief of cancer pain by endoscopic ultrasound-guided celiac plexus neurolysis(EUS-CPN).METHODS:Twenty-two patients referred to our hospital with cancer pain from August 2009 to July 2011for EUS-CPN were enrolled in this study.Phenol was used for 6 patients with alcohol intolerance and ethanol was used for 16 patients without alcohol intolerance.The primary endpoint was the positive response rate(pain score decreased to≤3)on postoperative day 7.Secondary endpoints included the time to onset of pain relief,duration of pain relief,and complication rates.RESULTS:There was no significant difference in the positive response rate on day 7.The rates were 83%and 69%in the phenol and ethanol groups,respectively.Regarding the time to onset of pain relief,in the phenol group,the median pre-treatment pain score was 5,whereas the post-treatment scores decreased to 1.5,1.5,and 1.5 at 2,8,and 24 h,respectively(P<0.05).In the ethanol group,the median pre-treatment pain score was 5.5,whereas the post-treatment scores significantly decreased to 2.5,2.5,and 2.5 at 2,8,and24 h,respectively(P<0.01).There was no significant difference in the duration of pain relief between the phenol and ethanol groups.No significant difference was found in the rate of complications between the 2groups;however,burning pain and inebriation occurred only in the ethanol group.CONCLUSION:Phenol had similar pain-relieving effects to ethanol in EUS-CPN.Comparing the incidences of inebriation and burning pain,phenol may be superior to ethanol in EUS-CPN procedures. | Hirotoshi Ishiwatari Tsuyoshi Hayashi Makoto Yoshida Michihiro Ono Hiroyuki Masuko Tsutomu Sato Koji Miyanishi Yasushi Sato Rishu Takimoto Masayoshi Kobune Atsushi Miyamoto Tomoko Sonoda Junji Kato | 2014 | World Journal of Gastroenterology2014，20，30： | 2 |

| 11 | Observation of a p mass threshold enhancement in ψ′→π+π-J/ψ(J/ψ→γp) decay显示文摘The decay channel ψ→π+π-J/ψ(J/ψ→γp) is studied using a sample of 1.06×108 ψ events collected by the BESIII experiment at BEPCII. A strong enhancement at threshold is observed in the p invariant mass spectrum. The enhancement can be fitted with an S-wave Breit-Wigner resonance function with a resulting peak mass of M =1861+6-13 (stat)+7-26 (syst) MeV/c2 and a narrow width that is Γ <38 MeV/c2 at the 90% confidence level.
