1Applications of magnetic nanoparticles in surface-enhanced Raman scattering(SERS)detection of environmental pollutants显示文摘Environmental pollution, a major problem worldwide, poses considerable threat to human health and ecological environment. Efficient and reliable detection technologies, which focus on the appearance of emerging environmental and trace pollutants, are urgently needed. Surface-enhanced Raman scattering(SERS) has become an attractive analytical tool for sensing trace targets in environmental field because of its inherent molecular fingerprint specificity and high sensitivity. In this review, we focused on the recent developments in the integration of magnetic nanoparticles(MNPs) with SERS for facilitating sensitive detection of environmental pollutants. An overview and classification of different types of MNPs for SERS detection were initially provided, enabling us to categorize the huge amount of literature that was available in the interdisciplinary research field of MNPs based SERS technology. Then, the basic working principles and applications of MNPs in SERS detection were presented. Subsequently, the detection technologies integrating MNPs with SERS that eventually were used for the detection of various environmental pollutions were reviewed. Finally, the advantages of MNP-basedSERS detection technology for environmental pollutants were concluded, and the current challenges and future outlook of this technology in practical applications were highlighted. 2Prognostic relevance of β-catenin expression in T2-3N0M0 esophageal squamous cell carcinoma显示文摘AIM: To study the expression of β-catenin in esophageal squamous cell carcinoma (ESCC) at stage T2-3N0M0 and its relation with the prognosis of ESCC patients. METHODS: Expression of β-catenin in 227 ESCC speci-mens was detected by immunohistochemistry (IHC). A reproducible semi-quantitative method which takes both staining percentage and intensity into account was applied in IHC scoring, and receiver operating char-acteristic curve analysis was used to select the cut-off score for high or low IHC reactivity. Then, correlation of β-catenin expression with clinicopathological features and prognosis of ESCC patients was determined. RESULTS: No significant correlation was observed between β-catenin expression and clinicopathological parameters in terms of gender, age, tumor size, tumor grade, tumor location, depth of invasion and pathologi-cal stage. The Kaplan-Meier survival curve showed that the up-regulated expression of β-catenin indicated a poorer post-operative survival rate of ESCC patients at stage T2-3N0M0 (P = 0.004), especially of those with T3 lesions (P = 0.014) or with stage ⅡB diseases (P = 0.007). Multivariate analysis also confirmed that β-catenin was an independent prognostic factor for the overall survival rate of ESCC patients at stage T2-3N0M0 (relative risk = 1.642, 95% CI: 1.159-2.327, P = 0.005). 9A Novel Reassortant H3N8 Influenza Virus Isolated from Drinking Water for Duck in a Domestic Duck Farm in Poyang Lake Area显示文摘Objective To conduct a full genome sequence analysis for genetic characterization of an H3N8 influenza virus isolated from drinking water of a domestic duck farm in Poyang Lake area in 2011. Methods The virus was cultivated by specific pathogen free (SPF) chicken embryo eggs and was subtyped into hemagglutinin (HA) and neuraminidase (NA) by real-time PCR method. Eight gene segments were sequenced and phylogenetic analysis was conducted. Results The NA gene of this virus belongs to North American lineage; other seven genes belong to Eurasian lineage. Compared with the viruses containing NA gene, the PB2 and PB1 gene came from different clades. And this indicates that the virus was a novel reassortant genotype. The HA receptor binding preference was avian-like and the cleavage site sequence showed a low pathogenic feature. There was no drug resistancemutation of M2 protein. Themutations of Asn30Asp, and Thr215Ala of the M1 protein implied the potential of pathogenicity increase in mice. 10Synthesis and in Vitro Cytotoxicity of a Novel Conjugate of Polyamide and Phospholipid显示文摘In order to increase the cell penetration and decrease the cytotoxicity of the synthetic molecule, we designed and synthesized a DNA-binding ligand, which was a conjugate of polyamide and phospholipid. 11C/EBP-β and SIRT1 regulate IL-18 expression in the proliferative phase endometria of polycystic ovary syndrome patients显示文摘Background:Previous studies have shown that polycystic ovary syndrome(PCOS)patients suffer from low-grade chronic inflammation.Furthermore,our previous studies have confirmed that IL-18 is highly expressed in the serum and endometria of PCOS patients.Nevertheless,the mechanisms underlying IL-18 elevation remain unclear.This study aims to explore the signaling pathways that lead to IL-18 upregulation in the endometria of PCOS patients.Methods:Using the TF-Search tool,we predicted that C/EBP-βmay be a transcription factor for IL-18 and that deacetylase SIRT1 could be involved in its regulation.Subsequently,we analyzed SIRT1 and C/EBP-βin the proliferative endometria of PCOS patients and healthy control using immunohistochemistry,real-time quantitative PCR and western blot;PCOS diagnosis was based on the 2003 Rotterdam ESHRE/ASRM criteria.We further verified the interaction between C/EBP-βand IL-18 using a double luciferase assay.Results:SIRT1 and C/EBP-βgene and protein levels in the proliferative endometria of PCOS patients were significantly higher than the control group.Immunohistochemical experiments confirmed that SIRT1 was primarily expressed in the endometrial nucleus,while C/EBP-βwas predominantly expressed in the endometrial nucleus and cytoplasm.Double luciferase assay verified the interaction between C/EBP-βand IL-18.Conclusion:SIRT1 and C/EBP-βare probable IL-18 regulatory mechanism in the endometria of PCOS patients.Xiaoyu Long Honghao Wang Xiaohui Zhu Rong Li Yan Yang Jie Qiao 2021Gynecology and Obstetrics Clinical Medicine2021,1,2:0
