| 9 | Computational Design and Fabrication of Enantioselective Recognition Sorbents for L-phenylalanine Benzyl Ester on Multiwalled Carbon Nanotubes Using Molecular Imprinting Technology显示文摘Computational strategies have been employed to investigate the influence of the nature of monomers and cross-linker in order to design three dimensional imprinted polymers with selective recognition sites for L-phenylalanine benzyl ester(L-PABE)molecule.Here,computational chemistry methods were applied to screen the molar quantity of functional monomers that interact with one mole of the template molecule.Effects of the nature of functional monomer,cross-linker,and molar ratio were determined computationally using density functional calculations with B3LYP functional and generic 6-31G basis set.Methacrylic acid(MAA)and ethylene glycol dimethacrylate(EGDMA)were used as the functional monomer and crosslinking agent,respectively.L-PABE imprinted polymer layered on multiwalled carbon nanotube(MWCNT)and conventional bulk MIP were synthesised and characterized as well.To investigate the influence of pre-organization of binding sites on the selectivity of L-PABE,respective non-imprinted polymers were also synthesised.MWCNT-MIPs and MIPs exhibited the highest adsorption capacity towards L-PABE.The synthesized polymers revealed characteristic adsorption features and selectivity towards L-PABE in comparison with those of its enantiomer analogues. | T Sajini Renjith Thomas Beena Mathew | 2019 | Chinese Journal of Polymer Science2019,37,12: | 1 |

| 15 | Simultaneous pharmacokinetic assessment of cefadroxil and clavulanic acid in human plasma by LC-MS and its application to bioequivalence studies显示文摘A simple, rapid and selective liquid chromatography-atmospheric pressure chemical ionization-mass spectrometry (LC-APCI-MS) assay method has been developed and fully validated for the simultaneous quantification of cefadroxil (CF) and clavulanic acid (CA) in human plasma. Analytes and internal standard (IS) were extracted from human plasma by solidphase extraction (SPE) technique using Sam prep (3 mL, 100 mg) extraction cartridge. The extracted samples were chromatographed on a reverse phase C18 column using a mixture of methanol: acetonitrile: 2 mM ammonium acetate (pH 3.5) (25:25:50, v/v/v) as the mobile phase at a flow rate of 0.8 mL/min. Quantification of the analytes and IS were carried out using single quadrupole LC-APCI-MS through selected-ion monitoring (SIM) at m/z 362 and m/z 198, for CF and CA, respectively. Method validation was performed as per the FDA guidelines and the results met the acceptance criteria. Plasma concentration of CF and CA followed by the oral administration of CF/CA (500/125 mg) pill to healthy male volunteers (n=12) was measured. Area under plasma concentration-time curve from 0 to 12 h (AUC0-12h ) and 0 h extrapolated to infinity (AUC0-∞) were calculated. | 16 | Cytoprotective,antihyperglycemic and phytochemical properties of Cocos nucifera(L.) inflorescence显示文摘Objective:To analyze the eytoproteetive and antidiabetic activities as well as phytochemical composition of the immature inflorescence of Cocas nucifera belonging to the Arecaceae Family.Methods:The phytochemical screening of inflorescence was done to determine the major constituents present in Cocos nucifera inflorescence.The free radical scavenging potential of inflorescence extracts were evaluated using in vitro radical scavenging assay models.Results:The phytochemical analyses on inflorescence showed the presence of phenolic compounds,flavonoids.resins and alkaloids.The macronutrient analyses,on the other hand,showed the presence of carbohydrate,proteins and fibers.Administration of the methanol extract of coconut inflorescence to the diabetic rats showed dose dependent reduction in hyperglycemia.The cytoprotective property of coconut inflorescence was evidenced from the acute toxicological evaluation.The levels of serum aspartate aminotransferase,alanine aminotransferase,and alkaline phosphatase were significantly decreased in the diabetic rats treated with inflorescence when compared with the diabetic control rats.Conclusion:The results obtained from the present study apparently proved the non-toxic nature and the eytoproteetive and antihyperglycemic properties of coconut inflorescence. | RS Renjith AM Chikku T Rajamohan | 2013 | Asian Pacific Journal of Tropical Medicine2013,6,10: | 0 |
| 17 | Acetylcholinesterase inhibitors in cognitive impairment in Huntington's disease: A brief review显示文摘Huntington's disease(HD) is a neurodegenerative disease associated with cognitive deficits. Cognitive dysfunction may be present in the early stages of the disease, even before the onset of motor symptoms. The cognitive dysfunction includes executive dysfunction, psychomotor symptoms, visuospatial deficits, perceptual deficits, memory loss and difficulty learning new skills. Acetylcholinesterase inhibitors have shown good effect in the treatment of other types of dementia and it is postulated that it might delay cognitive decline in HD. We reviewed the evidence for Acetylcholinesterase inhibitors in the treatment of cognitive decline and dementia associated with Huntington's disease. We identified 6 articles that investigated the role of Acetylcholinesterase inhibitors for treatment of cognitive deficits in Huntington's disease.
