| 1 | Assessment and management of low anterior resection syndrome after sphincter preserving surgery for rectal cancer显示文摘Many patients develop a variety of bowel dysfunction after sphincter preserving surgeries(SPS)for rectal cancer.The bowel dysfunction usually manifests in the form of low anterior resection syndrome(LARS),which has a negative impact on the patients'quality of life.This study reviewed the LARS after SPS,its mechanism,risk factors,diagnosis,prevention,and treatment based on previously published studies.Adequate history taking,physical examination of the patients,using validated questionnaires and other diagnostic tools are important for assessment of LARS severity.Treatment of LARS should be tailored to each patient.Multimodal therapy is usually needed for patients with major LARS with acceptable results.The treatment includes conservative management in the form of medical,pelvic floor rehabilitation and transanal irrigation and invasive procedures including neuromodulation.If this treatment failed,fecal diversion may be needed.In conclusion,Initial meticulous dissection with preservation of nerves and creation of a neorectal reservoir during anastomosis and proper Kegel exercise of the anal sphincter can minimize the occurrence of LARS.Pre-treatment counseling is an essential step for patients who have risk factors for developing LARS. | Ahmad Sakr Fozan Sauri Mohammed Alessa Eman Zakarnah Homoud Alawfi Radwan Torky Ho Seung Kim Seung Yoon Yang Nam Kyu Kim | 2020 | Chinese Medical Journal2020，，15： | 17 |
| 2 | 双向电泳-质谱技术筛选肝癌血清标记物显示文摘采用双向电泳-质谱技术筛选肝癌特异的血清蛋白标记物,以利于肝癌的早期诊断和治疗.肝癌、肝炎和正常三组各20例血清先采用超声、高丰度蛋白去除、脱盐预处理以优化双向电泳,图像分析三组血清图谱寻找差异点,基质辅助激光解吸飞行时间质谱对差异点进行鉴定.结果显示,通过样品预处理,血清上样体积平均增加3~4倍,参考胶点数由218个增至332个,白蛋白和免疫球蛋白明显减弱,水平条带明显减少.图谱比较所得37个差异点,经鉴定为7种蛋白.与正常组比较,转铁蛋白、甲状腺素运载蛋白在肝炎和肝癌组低表达,α-1抗胰蛋白酶、凝聚素、铜蓝蛋白、触珠蛋白在肝炎和肝癌组均高表达.α-1抗胰蛋白酶在肝癌组较肝炎组高表达,而热休克蛋白27只在肝癌组表达.上述结果提示,双向电泳-质谱技术可发现肝癌发生发展过程中血清蛋白表达谱质或量的变化,从而为肝癌的早期诊断及治疗奠定基础. | 冯钜涛 刘银坤 MOHAMAD RADWAN ALMOFTI 代智 周海君 宋海燕 陆豪杰 汤钊猷 | 2005 | 生物化学与生物物理进展2005，32，7： | 15 |
| 3 | Real time endoscopic ultrasound elastography and strain ratio in the diagnosis of solid pancreatic lesions显示文摘AIM To evaluate the accuracy of the elastography score combined to the strain ratio in the diagnosis of solid pancreatic lesions(SPL). METHODS A total of 172 patients with SPL identified by endoscopic ultrasound were enrolled in the study to evaluate the efficacy of elastography and strain ratio in differentiating malignant from benign lesions. The semi quantitative score of elastography was represented by the strain ratio method. Two areas were selected, area(A) representing the region of interest and area(B) representing the normal area. Area(B) was then divided by area(A). Sensitivity, specificity, positive predictive value(PPV), negative predictive value(NPV), and accuracy were calculated by comparing diagnoses made by elastography, strain ratio and final diagnoses.RESULTS SPL were shown to be benign in 49 patients and malignant in 123 patients. Elastography alone had a sensitivity of 99%, a specificity of 63%, and an accuracy of 88%, a PPV of 87% and an NPV of 96%. The best cut-off level of strain ratio to obtain the maximal area under the curve was 7.8 with a sensitivity of 92%, specificity of 77%, PPV of 91%, NPV of 80% and an accuracy of 88%. Another estimated cut off strain ratio level of 3.8 had a higher sensitivity of 99% and NPV of 96%, but with less specificity, PPV and accuracy 53%, 84% and 86%, respectively. Adding both elastography to strain ratio resulted in a sensitivity of 98%, specificity of 77%, PPV of 91%, NPV of 95% and accuracy of 92% for the diagnosis of SPL. | 5 | Development of an Arabic version of the National Eye Institute Visual Function Questionnaire as a tool to study eye diseases patients in Egypt显示文摘AIM:To develop and test an Arabic version of the National Eye Institute Visual Function Questionnaire-25(NEI-VFQ-25).METHODS:NEI-VFQ-25 was translated into Arabic according to WHO translation guidelines. We enrolled adult consenting patients with bilateral chronic eye diseases who presented to 14 hospitals across Egypt from October to December 2012, and documented their clinical findings. Psychometric properties were then tested using STATA.RESULTS:We recruited 379 patients, whose mean age was(54.5±15)y. Of 46.2% were males, 227 had cataract,31 had glaucoma, 23 had retinal detachment, 37 had diabetic retinopathy, and 61 had miscellaneous visual defects. Non-response rate and the floor and ceiling numbers of the Arabic version(ARB-VFQ-25) were calculated. Internal consistency was high in all subscales(except general health), with Cronbach-α ranging from0.702-0.911. Test-retest reliability was high(intraclass correlation coefficient 0.79).CONCLUSION:RB-VFQ-25 isareliableandvalidtool for assessing visual functions of Arabic speaking patients. However, some questions had high non-response rates and should be substituted by available alternatives. | 6 | Novel aspects for thermal stability studies and shelf life assessment of modified double-base propellants显示文摘Modified DB propellants, based on energetic nitramine(RDX) were manufactured by solventless extrusion process. Thermal stability and shelf life assessment of modified DB propellant were investigated. Shelf life assessment was evaluated using Van’t Hoff’s formula and artificial aging at 70℃ up to120 days. Quantification of total heat released and heat flow with aging time was conducted using differential scanning calorimetry(DSC) and thermal activity monitoring(TAMIII) respectively. Modified DB formulation based on 20 wt % RDX demonstrated enhanced thermal stability in terms of controlled heat flow, and slow decomposition reactions at elevated temperature. This formulation demonstrated extended service life up to 56 years compared with reference formulation. These novel finding was ascribed to the high thermal stability of RDX and its compatibility with DB constituents. | 7 | Design Engineering,Synthesis Protocols,and Energy Applications of MOF-Derived Electrocatalysts显示文摘The core reactions for fuel cells,rechargeable metal-air batteries,and hydrogen fuel production are the oxygen reduction reaction(ORR),oxygen evolution reaction(OER),and hydrogen evolution reaction(HER),which are heavily dependent on the efficiency of electrocatalysts.Enormous attempts have previously been devoted in non-noble electrocatalysts born out of metal-organic frameworks(MOFs)for ORR,OER,and HER applications,due to the following advantageous reasons:(i)The significant porosity eases the electrolyte diffusion;(ii)the supreme catalyst-electrolyte contact area enhances the diffusion efficiency;and(iii)the electronic conductivity can be extensively increased owing to the unique construction block subunits for MOFs-derived electrocatalysis.Herein,the recent progress of MOFs-derived electrocatalysts including synthesis protocols,design engineering,DFT calculations roles,and energy applications is discussed and reviewed.It can be concluded that the elevated ORR,OER,and HER performances are attributed to an advantageously well-designed high-porosity structure,significant surface area,and plentiful active centers.Furthermore,the perspectives of MOF-derived electrocatalysts for the ORR,OER,and HER are presented. | Amr Radwan Huihui Jin Daping He Shichun Mu | 2021 | Nano-Micro Letters2021，13，9： | 4 |
| 8 | SOX9 in biliary atresia: New insight for fibrosis progression显示文摘Background:Liver fibrosis is a hallmark determinant of morbidity in biliary atresia(BA)even in successfully operated cases.Responsible factors for this rapid progression of fibrosis are not completely defined.Aberrant expression of the transcription factor SOX9 and hepatic progenitor cells(HPCs)proliferation have roles in fibrogenesis in cholestatic disorders.However,they were not investigated sufficiently in BA.We aimed to delineate the relation of SOX9 and HPCs to fibrosis and its progression in BA.Methods:Forty-eight patients with BA who underwent an initial diagnostic liver biopsy(LB)and consequent intraoperative LB were recruited and compared to 28 cases with non-BA cholestasis that had an LB in their diagnostic workup.Liver fibrosis,tissue SOX9 and HPC expressions were studied in both BA and non-BA-cholestasis cases.Liver fibrosis,SOX9,and HPCs’dynamic changes in BA cases were assessed.Relation of fibrosis and its progression to SOX9 and HPCs in BA was assessed.Results:SOX9 and HPCs in ductular reaction(DR)form were expressed in 100%of BA and their grades increased significantly in the second biopsy.The rapidly progressive fibrosis in BA,represented by fibrosis grade of the intraoperative LB,correlated significantly to SOX9-DR and HPC-DR at the diagnostic(r=0.420,P=0.003 and r=0.405,P=0.004,respectively)and the intraoperative(r=0.460,P=0.001 and r=0.467,P=0.001,respectively)biopsy.On the other hand,fibrosis,SOX9-DR,and HPC-DR were significantly lower in non-BA cases at a comparable age(P<0.001,P=0.006,and P=0.014,respectively).Conclusions:Fibrosis in BA is rapidly progressive within a short time and is significantly correlated to SOX9 and HPCs.Assessment of targeting SOX9 and HPCs on fibrosis progression is warranted. | Hanaa Ahmed El-Araby Magdy Anwar Saber Noha Mohamed Radwan Doha Maher Taie Nermin Mohamed Adawy Ahmad Mohamed Sira | 2021 | Hepatobiliary & Pancreatic Diseases International2021，20，2： | 3 |
