1Evaluation of health benefit using Ben MAP-CE with an integrated scheme of model and monitor data during Guangzhou Asian Games显示文摘Guangzhou is the capital and largest city(land area:7287 km2)of Guangdong province in South China.The air quality in Guangzhou typically worsens in November due to unfavorable meteorological conditions for pollutant dispersion.During the Guangzhou Asian Games in November 2010,the Guangzhou government carried out a number of emission control measures that significantly improved the air quality.In this paper,we estimated the acute health outcome changes related to the air quality improvement during the 2010 Guangzhou Asian Games using a next-generation,fully-integrated assessment system for air quality and health benefits.This advanced system generates air quality data by fusing model and monitoring data instead of using monitoring data alone,which provides more reliable results.The air quality estimates retain the spatial distribution of model results while calibrating the value with observations.The results show that the mean PM_2.5concentration in November 2010 decreased by 3.5μg/m^3 compared to that in 2009 due to the emission control measures.From the analysis,we estimate that the air quality improvement avoided 106 premature deaths,1869 cases of hospital admission,and 20,026 cases of outpatient visits.The overall cost benefit of the improved air quality is estimated to be 165 million CNY,with the avoided premature death contributing 90%of this figure.The research demonstrates that Ben MAP-CE is capable of assessing the health and cost benefits of air pollution control for sound policy making.Dian Ding Yun Zhu Carey Jang Che-Jen Lin Shuxiao Wang Joshua Fu Jian Gao Shuang Deng Junping Xie Xuezhen Qiu 2016Journal of Environmental Sciences2016,28,4:13
2High precision topographic data on Lop Nor basin's Lake 'Great Ear' ? and the timing of its becoming a dry salt lake显示文摘High precision elevation measurements using DGPS were carried out along three representative tran- sects for the 'Great Ear' area, a dry salt lake within the Lop Nor basin. Results indicate that the Lop Nor basin is only 5.2 m deep and its lowest point occurs at the center of the 'Great Ear'. In addition, the basin is asymmetric - steeper in the southwest (0.19‰) and gentler in the northeast (0.09‰). Points along the same 'Great Ear' ring were found to have an identical elevation value, but different when from different ones (lower towards the center). The spacing of the 'Great Ear' rings was found to be closely related with the surface steepness. The closer the 'Great Ear' rings are spaced, the steeper the ground surface, and vice versa. These findings support the argument that the 'Great Ear' rings are the former shoreline trails left behind by Lop Nor water during the last few episodes of recession towards its total dry up. A comprehensive analysis of the high precision elevation data, historical accounts, aerial and satellite photographs and imagery, and official topographic maps of the study area suggests that the 'Great Ear' area in the Lop Nor basin was incorrectly mapped as being covered by a great body of water on the 1963 topographic maps. A re-interpretation of the 1958 aerial photographs and newer remote sensing imagery indicated that the 'Great Ear' ring structure was already in place in 1958 and it continued to appear on the subsequent remote sensing data without any major changes. 3Design and demonstration of a next-generation air quality attainment assessment system for PM_(2.5)and O_3显示文摘Due to the increasingly stringent standards, it is important to assess whether the proposed emission reduction will result in ambient concentrations that meet the standards. The Software for Model Attainment Test—Community Edition(SMAT-CE) is developed for demonstrating attainment of air quality standards of O3 and PM2.5. SMAT-CE improves computational efficiency and provides a number of advanced visualization and analytical functionalities on an integrated GIS platform. SMAT-CE incorporates historical measurements of air quality parameters and simulated air pollutant concentrations under a number of emission inventory scenarios to project the level of compliance to air quality standards in a targeted future year. 4A case study of development and application of a streamlined control and response modeling system for PM_(2.5)attainment assessment in China显示文摘This article describes the development and application of a streamlined air control and response modeling system with a novel response surface modeling-linear coupled fitting method and a new module to provide streamlined model data for PM_(2.5) attainment assessment in China.This method is capable of significantly reducing the dimensions required to establish a response surface model,as well as capturing more realistic response of PM_(2.5) to emission changes with a limited number of model simulations.The newly developed module establishes a data link between the system and the Software for Model Attainment Test—Community Edition(SMAT-CE),and has the ability to rapidly provide model responses to emission control scenarios for SMAT-CE using a simple interface.The performance of this streamlined system is demonstrated through a case study of the Yangtze River Delta(YRD) in China.Our results show that this system is capable of reproducing the Community Multi-Scale Air Quality(CMAQ) model simulation results with maximum mean normalized error < 3.5%.It is also demonstrated that primary emissions make a major contribution to ambient levels of PM_(2.5) in January and August(e.g.,more than50%contributed by primary emissions in Shanghai),and Shanghai needs to have regional emission control both locally and in its neighboring provinces to meet China's annual PM_(2.5)National Ambient Air Quality Standard.The streamlined system provides a real-time control/response assessment to identify the contributions of major emission sources to ambient PM_(2.5)(and potentially O_3 as well) and streamline air quality data for SMAT-CE to perform attainment assessments.Shicheng Long Yun Zhu Carey Jang Che-Jen Lin Shuxiao Wang Bin Zhao Jian Gao Shuang Deng Junping Xie Xuezhen Qiu 2016Journal of Environmental Sciences2016,28,3:9
5Mutation profile and its correlation with clinicopathology in Chinese hepatocellular carcinoma patients显示文摘Background:Hepatocellular carcinoma(HCC)is one of the most common causes of cancer worldwide.Although many studies have focused on oncogene characteristics,the genomic landscape of Chinese HCC patients has not been fully clarified.Methods:A total of 165 HCC patients,including 146 males and 19 females,were enrolled.The median age was 55 years(range,27-78 years).Corresponding clinical and pathological information was collected for further analysis.A total of 168 tumor tissues from these patients were selected for next-generation sequencing(NGS)-based 450 panel gene sequencing.Genomic alterations including single nucleotide variations(SNV),short and long insertions and deletions(InDels),copy number variations,and gene rearrangements were analyzed.Tumor mutational burden(TMB)was measured by an algorithm developed in-house.The top quartile of HCC was classified as TMB high.Results:A total of 1,004 genomic alterations were detected from 258 genes in 168 HCC tissues.TMB values were identified in 160 HCC specimens,with a median TMB of 5.4 Muts/Mb(range,0-28.4 Muts/Mb)and a 75%TMB of 7.7 Muts/Mb.The most commonly mutated genes were TP53,TERT,CTNNB1,AXIN1,RB1,TSC2,CCND1,ARID1A,and FGF19.SNV was the most common mutation type and C:G>T:A and guanine transformation were the most common SNVs.Compared to wild-type patients,the proportion of Edmondson grade III-IV and microvascular invasion was significantly higher in TP53 mutated patients(P<0.05).The proportion of tumors invading the hepatic capsule was significantly higher in TERT mutated patients(P<0.05).The proportion of Edmondson grade I-II,alpha fetoprotein(AFP)<25μmg/L,and those without a history of hepatitis B was significantly higher in CTNNB1 mutated patients(P<0.05).CTNNB1 mutations were associated with TMB high in HCC patients(P<0.05).Based on correlation analysis,the mutation of TP53 was independently correlated with microvascular invasion(P=0.002,OR=3.096)and Edmondson grade III-IV(P=0.008,OR=2.613).The mutation of TERT was independently correlated with tumor invasion of the liver capsule(P=0.001,OR=3.030),and the mutation of CTNNB1 was independently correlated with AFP(<25μmg/L)(P=0.009,OR=3.414).Conclusions:The most frequently mutated genes of HCC patients in China were TP53,TERT,and CTNNB1,which mainly lead to the occurrence and development of HCC by regulating the P53 pathway,Wnt pathway,and telomere repair pathway.There were more patients with microvascular invasion and Edmondson III-IV grade in TP53 mutated patients and more patients with hepatic capsule invasion in TERT mutated patients,while in CTNNB1 mutated patients,there were more patients with Edmondson I-II grade,AFP<25μmg/L,and a non-hepatitis B background.Also,the TMB values were significantly higher in CTNNB1 mutated patients than in wild type patients.Shuo Wang Huasheng Shi Tao Liu Manjiang Li Sanshun Zhou Xuan Qiu Zusen Wang Weiyu Hu Weidong Guo Xiaoqian Chen Honglin Guo Xiaoliang Shi Junping Shi Yunjin Zang Jingyu Cao Liqun Wu 2021Hepatobiliary Surgery and Nutrition2021,10,2:8

7Long- versus short-interval follow-up after resection of hepatocellular carcinoma: a retrospective cohort study显示文摘Background:Average postoperative follow-up intervals vary in patients undergoing hepatocellular carcinoma(HCC)resection because of limited evidence regarding the optimal interval.We aimed to compare the associations of long-versus short-interval follow-up with survival and recurrence in risk-stratified HCC patients.Methods:We performed a retrospective cohort study between 2007 and 2014.In total,1227 patients treated by curative resection of Barcelona Clinic Liver Cancer stage A or B HCC were stratified as having a low(n=865)or high(n=362)risk of early recurrence(within the first 2 years after resection)based on prognostic factors identified by the least absolute shrinkage and selection operation algorithm.Patients were further classified into long-interval(every 4-6 months)and short-interval(every 2-4 months)follow-up subgroups based on follow-up within 2 years after resection(low risk,long vs.short:n=390 vs.n=475;high-risk,long vs.short:n=149 vs.n=213).Results:The short-interval follow-up did not prolong overall survival in either the low-risk(hazard ratio[HR]=1.152;95%confidence interval[CI]0.720-1.843)or high-risk(HR=1.213;95%CI 0.702-2.094)patients.Early recurrence occurred in 401 patients.For high-risk patients,the short-interval follow-up subgroup exhibited smaller intrahepatic recurrence than did the long-interval group(2.6 vs.3.5 cm,respectively,P=0.045).However,no significant difference in the rate of Barcelona Clinic Liver Cancer stage 0/A recurrence was found between the long-and short-interval follow-up groups in either low-or high-risk patients(63.1%vs.68.2%,respectively,P=0.580;31.3%vs.41.5%,respec-tively,P=0.280).The rate of curative intent treatment for recurrence(34.5%vs.39.7%,respectively,P=0.430;14.6%vs.20.3%,respectively,P=0.388)was also similar between the follow-up groups for low-and high-risk patients.Conclusions:Shortening the postoperative follow-up interval from every 4-6 months to every 2-4 months within the first 2 years after resection did not increase the rate of curative intent treatment or prolong the overall survival of patients with Barcelona Clinic Liver Cancer stage A or B HCC.Wei He Yun Zheng Ruhai Zou Jingxian Shen Junping Yang Jiliang Qiu Qiang Tao Wenwu Liu Zhiwen Yang Yuanping Zhang Binkui Li Yunfei Yuan 2018Cancer Communications2018,38,1:2

9First-principles investigation of the impurity-kink interaction in bcc iron显示文摘Using the first-principles self-consistent discrete variational method based on density functional theory, we investigated the effect of light impurities C and N on the electronic structure of kink on the [100](010) edge dislocation (ED) in bcc iron. Our energetic calculations show that the light impurities have a strong segregation tendency to enter the kink. The results of the charge distribution and the local den-sity of states indicate that the strong bonds between the impurity atoms and the neighboring Fe atoms are formed due to the hybridizations of impurity atoms 2p states and Fe 3d4s4p states. The introduction of light impurities can stabilize the kink system, and impedes the sideward motion of the kink in the [100](010) ED.
