1Remediation of Heavy Metal-Polluted Agricultural Soils Using Clay Minerals: A Review显示文摘Heavy metal contamination of agricultural soils poses risks and hazards to humans. The remediation of heavy metal-polluted soils has become a hot topic in environmental science and engineering. In this review, the application of clay minerals for the remediation of heavy metal-polluted agricultural soils is summarized, in terms of their remediation effects and mechanisms, influencing factors,and future focus. Typical clay minerals, natural sepiolite, palygorskite, and bentonite, have been widely utilized for the in-situ immobilization of heavy metals in soils, especially Cd-polluted paddy soils and wastewater-irrigated farmland soils. Clay minerals are able to increase soil p H, decrease the chemical-extractable fractions and bioavailability of heavy metals in soils, and reduce the heavy metal contents in edible parts of plants. The immobilization effects have been confirmed in field-scale demonstrations and pot trials. Clay minerals can improve the environmental quality of soils and alleviate the hazards of heavy metals to plants. As main factors affecting the immobilization effects, the p H and water condition of soils have drawn academic attention. The remediation mechanisms mainly include liming, precipitation, and sorption effects. However, the molecular mechanisms of microscopic immobilization are unclear. 2Impact of organic interlayer anions on the CO2 adsorption performance of Mg-Al layered double hydroxides derived mixed oxides显示文摘Herein we report a systematical investigation on the promoting effect of the carbon chain length of the intercalated carboxylic anions on the CO_2 capture performance of Mg-Al layer double hydroxides(LDHs).A series of organo-LDHs were successfully synthesized via co-precipitation and calcination-rehydration methods. All as-prepared samples were characterized by many techniques including XRD, ATR-FTIR, BET,and TGA. The XRD and ATR-FTIR studies indicated that organic anions were successfully intercalated into LDHs. The influence of some important parameters such as calcination temperature, adsorption temperature, and coating with(Li-Na-K)NO_3 molten salt was investigated. The results exhibited that when the number of carbon is greater than 10, the CO_2 capture capacity steadily increased with the increase in carbon number. After coating with 55 mol%(Li-Na-K)NO_3 molten salt, the CO_2 uptake of LDH-C16 sample with high Mg/Al ratios can be increased up to 3.25 mmol/g. The CO_2 adsorption/desorption cycling stability was also studied using temperature swing adsorption, which showed a stable CO_2 capture performance even after 22 cycles. 3Deep ultraviolet light-emitting diodes based on a well-ordered AlGaN nanorod array显示文摘The nanorod structure is an alternative scheme to develop high-efficiency deep ultraviolet light-emitting diodes(DUV LEDs). In this paper, we first report the electrically injected 274-nm AlGaN nanorod array DUV LEDs fabricated by the nanosphere lithography and dry-etching technique. Nanorod DUV LED devices with good electrical properties are successfully realized. Compared to planar DUV LEDs, nanorod DUV LEDs present>2.5 times improvement in light output power and external quantum efficiency. The internal quantum efficiency of nanorod LEDs increases by 1.2 times due to the transformation of carriers from the exciton to the free electron–hole, possibly driven by the interface state effect of the nanorod sidewall surface. In addition, the nanorod array significantly facilitates photons escaping from the interior of LEDs along the vertical direction, contributing to improved light extraction efficiency. A three-dimensional finite-different time-domain simulation is performed to analyze further in detail the TE-and TM-polarized photon extraction mechanisms of the nanostructure. 5Authentic compound-free strategy for simultaneous determination of primary coumarins in Peucedani Radix using offline high performance liquid chromatography–nuclear magnetic resonance spectroscopy–tandem mass spectrometry显示文摘Herein, a strategy is proposed for the simultaneous determination of primary coumarins in Peucedani Radix(Chinese name: Qianhu). The methodology consists of three consecutive steps: 1) Semi-preparative LC in combination with a home-made automated fraction collection module to fragment the universal metabolome standard into ten fractions(Frs. I–X); 2) LC–accurate MS/MS and quantitative1 H NMR spectroscopy conducted in parallel to acquire the qualitative and quantitative data of each fraction; 3) Robust identification and quantification of components by use of LC coupled to multiple reaction monitoring. In this final step, the most significant fractions(Frs. III–X) were pooled to serve as the pseudo-mixed standard solution. Meticulous online parameter optimization was performed to obtain the optimal parameters, including ion transitions and collision energies. Concerns were particularly paid onto pursuing the parameters being capable of monitoring regiospecific isomers, notably praeruptorin E vs. 3′-isovaleryl-4′-angeloylkhellactone. The quantitative performance of the method was validated according to diverse assays. Eleven primary coumarins(1–11) were unambiguously identified and absolutely quantified, even though no external reference compound was used. 6The heterogeneity of islet autoantibodies and the progression of islet failure in type 1 diabetic patients显示文摘Type 1 diabetes mellitus is heterogeneous in many facets. The patients suffered from type 1 diabetes present several levels of islet function as well as variable number and type of islet-specific autoantibodies. This study was to investigate prevalence and heterogeneity of the islet autoantibodies and clinical phenotypes of type 1 diabetes mellitus; and also discussed the process of islet failure and its risk factors in Chinese type 1 diabetic patients. A total of 1,291 type 1 diabetic patients were enrolled in this study. Demographic information was collected. Laboratory tests including mixed-meal tolerance test, human leukocyte antigen alleles, hemoglobin A1 c, lipids, thyroid function and islet autoantibodies were conducted. The frequency of islet-specific autoantibody in newly diagnosed T1 DM patients(duration shorter than half year) was 73% in East China. According to binary logistic regressions, autoantibody positivity, longer duration and lower Body Mass Index were the risk factors of islet failure. As the disease developed, autoantibodies against glutamic acid decarboxylase declined as well as the other two autoantibodies against zinc transporter 8 and islet antigen 2. The decrease of autoantibodies was positively correlated with aggressive beta cell destruction. Autoantibodies can facilitate the identification of classic T1 DM from other subtypes and predict the progression of islet failure. 7Abnormal Metabolic Connectivity in Rats at the Acute Stage of Ischemic Stroke显示文摘Stroke at the acute stage is a major cause of disability in adults, and is associated with dysfunction of brain networks. However, the mechanisms underlying changes in brain connectivity in stroke are far from fully elucidated. In the present study, we investigated brain metabolism and metabolic connectivity in a rat ischemic stroke model of middle cerebral artery occlusion(MCAO)at the acute stage using18 F-fluorodeoxyglucose positron emission tomography. Voxel-wise analysis showed decreased metabolism mainly in the ipsilesional hemisphere, and increased metabolism mainly in the contralesional cerebellum. We used further metabolic connectivity analysis to explore the brain metabolic network in MCAO.Compared to sham controls, rats with MCAO showed most significantly reduced nodal and local efficiency in the ipsilesional striatum. In addition, the MCAO group showed decreased metabolic central connection of the ipsilesional striatum with the ipsilesional cerebellum, ipsilesional hippocampus, and bilateral hypothalamus. 8Electrospinning in membrane contactor:manufacturing Elec-PVDF/SiO2 superhydrophobic surface for efficient flue gas desulphurization applications显示文摘In membrane contactors,maintaining a high SO_(2)absorption flux and an excellent wetting resistance are crucial for hazardous gas removal.In this study,we adopted an electrospinning strategy to fabricate highly robust superhydrophobic dual-layer Elec-PVDF/SiO_(2)composite membrane contactors used for flue gas desulfurization.The composite membrane contactor consisted of a durable and ultrathin three-dimensional(3D)superhydrophobic surface and a porous supporting layer,where the formulation was optimized by regulating the PVDF concentration,solvent ratio and SiO_(2)particles content in electrospinning solution.The scanning electronic microscopy(SEM),EDS-mapping,water contact angle(WCA)and surface roughness of as-prepared Elec-PVDF/SiO_(2)composite membrane contactors were conducted to explore the physical and chemical structure.The SiO_(2)nanoparticles were uniformly loaded in ElecPVDF/SiO_(2)composite membrane contactor,and constructed micro-nano dual-coarse lotus-leaf-like morphology,which noticeably elevated surface roughness(Ra).The SiO_(2)nanoparticles also functioned as hydrophobic modifiers,which boosted the WAC up to 155.The SO_(2)absorption fluxes and SO_(2)removal efficiencies were investigated.In particular,the membrane contactor doped with 20 wt%SiO_(2)nanoparticles significantly elevated the stability of desulfurization performance.Besides,the membrane mass transfer coefficient(Km)and corresponding membrane mass transfer resistance(H/Km)were explored.Qingping Xin Kaiqiang Xie Qingqing Liang Xu Li Yinan Zeng Yuhang Zhao Lei Zhang Shaofei Wang Hong Li Yuzhong Zhang 2021Green Chemical Engineering2021,2,1:3
9The osmolyte-producing endophyte Streptomyces albidoflavus OsiLf-2 induces drought and salt tolerance in rice via a multi-level mechanism显示文摘Drought and salinity are major environmental stresses that impair crop growth and productivity worldwide. Improving drought and salt tolerance of crops with microbial mutualists is an effective and environmentally sound strategy to meet the demands of the ever-growing world population. In the present study, we found that the Streptomyces albidoflavus Osi Lf-2, a moderately salt-tolerant endophytic actinomycete, produced abundant osmolytes, including proline, polysaccharides, and ectoine. Inoculation with Osi Lf-2 increased the osmotic-adjustment ability of the rice host by increasing the proline content(by250.3% and 49.4%) and soluble sugar(by 20.9% and 49.4%) in rice under drought and salt conditions, relative to the uninoculated control. Osi Lf-2 increased stress responses in the rice host at the physiological and biochemical levels(photosynthesis efficiency, osmolytes and antioxidant content), and the gene level(osmolytes synthesis, stress-responsive and ion-transport related genes), raising rice yields under both greenhouse and saline–alkaline soil conditions. 11The disbalance of LRP1 and SIRPα by psychological stress dampens the clearance of tumor cells by macrophages显示文摘The relationship between chronic psychological stress and tumorigenesis has been well defined in epidemiological studies;however, the underlying mechanism remains underexplored. In this study, we discovered that impaired macrophage phagocytosis contributed to the psychological stressevoked tumor susceptibility, and the stress hormone glucocorticoid(GC) was identified as a principal detrimental factor. Mechanistically, GC disturbed the balance of the 'eat me' signal receptor(low-density lipoprotein receptor-related protein-1, LRP1) and the 'don’t eat me' signal receptor(signal regulatory protein alpha, SIRPa). Further analysis revealed that GC led to a direct, glucocorticoid receptor(GR)-dependent trans-repression of LRP1 expression, and the repressed LRP1, in turn, resulted in the elevatedgene level of SIRPa by down-regulating mi RNA-4695-3 p. These data collectively demonstrate that stress induces the imbalance of the LRP1/SIRPa axis and entails the disturbance of tumor cell clearance by macrophages. 12Characterization of bubble behaviors in a dense phase pulsed gas-solid fluidized bed for dry coal processing显示文摘Pulsed gas-solid fluidized beds can effectively separate fine coal,and bubbles play an important role in creating suitable separation conditions.The present study performed statistical and image analyses of the evolution of bubbles in a two-dimensional pulsed gas-solid fluidized bed using a high-speed dynamic camera.The effects of apparent gas velocity,pulsation frequency and particle size on bubble characteristics and bed expansi on were analyzed.The results indicate that,when a fluctuation freque ncy is added,the expa nsion height of the bed in creases,the effect of attachme nt to the bed wall decreases,the leading diameter and rising velocity of the bubbles both decrease and the degree of bubble deformation increases.These trends are also more obvious for fine particles.These findings dem on strate that a high density pulsed gas-solid fluidized bed can effectively combine gases and solids to produce a uniform,stable mixture.The bubble diameter and rising velocity were also simulated in the present work,and the relationship between the two was established using a fitting model with an error within 5%.This model provides an effective means of predicting bubble velocity as well as studying the distribution of the bubble phase and improving the stability of the bed density.Yanjiao Li Fenglong Zhu Yadong Zhang Yuemin Zhao Gansu Zhang Qingqing Huang Liang Dong 2020Particuology2020,18,6:2
13Lipidomics reveals association of circulating lipids with body mass index and outcomes in IgA nephropathy patients显示文摘IgA nephropathy(IgAN)is a leading cause of chronic kidney disease(CKD),which are commonly accompanied by dyslipidemia.Obesity is also associated with dyslipidemia and risk of CKD,but the relation of the dyslipidemia patterns with obesity and disease progression in IgAN patients remains unknown.Traditional Chinese medicine(TCM)and the combined treatment with corticosteroids and TCM have been shown to be of benefit for IgAN patients,but predictive markers for guiding these treatments are lacking.Here,we quantified 545 lipid species in the plasma from 196 participants,including 140 IgAN patients and 56 healthy volunteers,and revealed an altered plasma lipidome in IgAN patients as compared to healthy participants.Association analysis showed that a subgroup of glycerides,particularly triacylglycerols(TGs)containing docosahexaenoic acid,were positively associated with high body mass index(BMI)in under-or normal-weight IgAN patients,while several free fatty acids and sphingomyelins were positively associated with high BMI in overweight or obese IgAN patients.Further,our study suggested that elevated levels of eight lipids,mainly TG species containing linolenic acid,were independent risk factors for IgAN progression and also reported the prospective association of circulating lipids with treatment outcomes in IgAN.Taken together,our findings may not only help to achieve precision medicine but also provide a knowledge base for dietary intervention in the treatment of IgAN.Yueyi Deng Qingqing Wu Wanjia Chen Li Zhu Wangyi Liu Fangying Xia Liang Sun Xu Lin Rong Zeng 2021Journal of Molecular Cell Biology2021,13,8:2
14Inconsistent creep between dendrite core and interdendritic region under different degrees of elemental inhomogeneity in nickel-based single crystal superalloys显示文摘The creep inconsistency between dendrite core and interdendritic region is investigated in a nickel-based single crystal superalloy under 1373 K and 137 MPa.Two specimens with higher and lower degree of elemental inhomogeneity on dendritic structures are compared.For specimen with higher inhomogeneity,stronger segregation of refractory elements reinforces the local strength in dendrite core,but damages the strength in interdendritic region.Creep strain is accumulated faster in interdendritic region giving rise to promoted dislocation shearing inγphase,faster degradation of dislocation networks and facilitated topological inversion of rated structures.Although the segregation of refractory elements produces a high density of topologically close-packed(TCP)phase in dendrite core,faster accumulation of creep strain forms microcracks prior in interdendritic region that gives rise to final rupture of the specimen.In another specimen,increased solid solution time gives rise to overall reduced inhomogeneity.Creep inconsistency is relieved to show more uniform evolution of dislocation substructures and rafting between dendrite core and interdendritic region.The second specimen is ruptured by formation and extension of microcracks along TCP phase although the precipitation of TCP phase is relatively restricted under reduced inhomogeneity.Importantly,the balance of local strength between dendrite core and interdendritic region results in over 40%increase of creep rupture life of the second specimen.Wanshun Xia Xinbao Zhao Liang Yue Quanzhao Yue Jiangwei Wang Qingqing Ding Hongbin Bei Ze Zhang 2021Journal of Materials Science & Technology2021,,33:2

17Production of non-mosaic genome edited porcine embryos by injection of CRISPR/Cas9 into germinal vesicle oocytes显示文摘Genetically modified pigs represent a great promise for generating models of human diseases and producing new breeds.Generation of genetically edited pigs using somatic cell nuclear transfer(SCNT)or zygote cytoplasmic microinjection is a tedious process due to the low developmental rate or mosaicism of the founder(FO).Herein,we developed a method termed germinal vesicle oocyte gene editing(GVGE)to produce non-mosaic porcine embryos by editing maternal alleles during the GV to MII transition.Injection of Cas9 mRNA and X-linked Dmd gene-specific gRNA into GV oocytes did not affect their developmental potential.The MII oocytes edited during in vitro maturation(IVM)could develop into blastocysts after parthenogenetic activation(PA)or in vitro fertilization(IVF).Genotyping results indicated that the maternal gene X-linked Dmd could be efficiently edited during oocyte maturation.Up to81.3% of the edited IVF embryos were non-mosaic Dmd gene mutant embryos.In conclusion,GVGE might be a valuable method for the generation of non-mosaic maternal allele edited FO embryos in a short simple step.Xiaohu Su Wei Chen Qingqing Cai Puping Liang Yaosheng Chen Peiqing Cong Junjiu Huang 2019Journal of Genetics and Genomics2019,46,7:2

20Growth of Sr_2CuO_(3+δ) superconductor single crystals at high pressure显示文摘We have successfully synthesized Sr 2 CuO3+δ single crystals under high pressure and high temperature for the first time. The structure analysis show that this material crystallizes into tetragonal structure isostructural La 2 CuO4 with single CuO 2 plane.
