| 2 | Submarine Landslides on the North Continental Slope of the South China Sea显示文摘Recent and paleo-submarine landslides are widely distributed within strata in deep-water areas along continental slopes, uplifts, and carbonate platforms on the north continental margin of the South China Sea(SCS). In this paper, high-resolution 3D seismic data and multibeam data based on seismic sedimentology and geomorphology are employed to assist in identifying submarine landslides. In addition, deposition models are proposed that are based on specific geological structures and features, and which illustrate the local stress field over entire submarine landslides in deep-water areas of the SCS. The SCS is one of the largest fluvial sediment sinks in enclosed or semi-enclosed marginal seas worldwide. It therefore provides a set of preconditions for the formation of submarine landslides, including rapid sediment accumulation, formation of gas hydrates, and fluid overpressure. A new concept involving temporal and spatial analyses is tested to construct a relationship between submarine landslides and different time scale trigger mechanisms, and three mechanisms are discussed in the context of spatial scale and temporal frequency: evolution of slope gradient and overpressure, global environmental changes, and tectonic events. Submarine landslides that are triggered by tectonic events are the largest but occur less frequently, while submarine landslides triggered by the combination of slope gradient and overpressure evolution are the smallest but most frequently occurring events. | 4 | Artemisinin mimics calorie restriction to extend yeast lifespan via a dual-phase mode: a conclusion drawn from global transcriptome profiling显示文摘Calorie restriction(CR) promotes longevity among distinct organisms from yeast to mammals. Although CR-prolonged lifespan is believed to associate with enhanced respiratory activity, it is apparently controversial for accelerated energy consumption regardless of insufficient nutrient intake. In reconciling the contradiction of less food supply versus much metabolite dispense, we revealed a CR-based mode of dual-phase responses that encompass a phase of mitochondrial enhancement(ME) and a phase of post-mitochondrial enhancement(PME), which can be distinguished by the expression patterns and activity dynamics of mitochondrial signatures. ME is characterized by global antioxidative activation, and PME is denoted by systemic metabolic modulation. CR-mediated aging-delaying effects are replicated by artesunate, a semi-synthetic derivative of the antimalarial artemisinin that can alkylate heme-containing proteins, suggesting artesunate-heme conjugation functionally resembles nitric oxide-heme interaction. A correlation of artesunate-heme conjugation with cytochrome c oxidase activation has been established from adduct formation and activity alteration. Exogenous hydrogen peroxide also mimics CR to trigger antioxidant responses, affect signaling cascades, and alter respiratory rhythms, implying hydrogen peroxide is engaged in lifespan extension. | 6 | Alteration of P2X3 expression in dorsal root ganglia after sciatic nerve ligation显示文摘BACKGROUND:The expressions of P2X3 receptor in dorsal root ganglia(DRG)after different peripheral nerve injuries are diverse.It indicates the different roles of P2X3 in different models-caused neuropathologic pains.OBJECTIVE:To observe the expressions of P2X3 in corresponding DRG after sciatic nerve ligation in rats.DESIGN:Controlled observation experiment.SETTING:Department of Morphology,Hunan Traditional Chinese Medical College;Department of Human Anatomy and Neurobiology,Xiangya Medical College,Central South University.MATERIALS:Thirty-five healthy adult SD rats of clean grade an d either gender,weighing(200±20)g,were involved.According to the random digits table,the involved rats were randomized into 3 groups:normal group(n =5),sham-operated group(n =5)and experimental group(n =25).The experimental group were subdivided into 3,7,14,21,28 days groups according to different surviving time after operation,5 rats at each time point.Polyclonal rabbit anti-P2X3 antibody(ABCAM company);biotinylated goat anti-rabbit IgG(Zhongshanjingqiao Biotechnical Co.,Ltd.,Beijing);Motic fluorescence microscope(Motic,Germany).METHODS:The experiments were carried out in the Department of Human Anatomy and Neurobiology,Xiangya Medical College,Central South University from June to December 2006.① Rats of experimental group were created into models by ligation of right sciatic nerve according to the method of Seltzer et al.Left sciatic nerve was used as self-control.As for rats in the sham-operated group,ligation of sciatic nerve was omitted,but other procedures were the same as those in the experimental group.Rats of normal group were untouched.② Rats of the normal group and sham-operated group survived for 14 days separately,and those of experimental group survived for corresponding time.After being deeply anesthetized by intraperitoneal injection of over-dose sodium pentobarbital,the rats of experimental group were transcardially perfused.L4-6 corresponding DRG connected to sciatic nerve were taken for preparing transverse sections serially.③P2X3 expression in L4-6 DRG was detected by immunohistochemistry,immunofluorescence and image analysis techniques.MAIN OUTCOME MEASURES:P2X3 expression in L4-6 DRG of rats in each group.RESULTS:Thirty-five SD rats were involved in the final analysis.① P2X3 expression in DRG:In normal DRG of rats,there were abundant P2X3 immuno-positive small-and medium-sized primary sensory neurons,especially the small ones,which mostly received the input from C fibers.There were only a few large neurons expressing P2X3.The immuno-positive products mostly were located in the cytoplasm and processes.The expression of P2X3 had a slight but significant decrease in ipsilateral L4-6 DRG 3 days after sciatic nerve ligation,and a decreasing tendency was observed with the elongation of time.At 28 days,the expression had not returned to base line,and still maintained at a low level.② P2X3 immuno-positive gray scale in DRG:P2X3 immuno-positive gray scale in ipsilateral side L4-6 DRG was 117.74±2.38,129.12± 4.86,133.56±3.79,148.75±6.90 and 150.49±5.15,respectively at 3,7,14,21 and 28 days after sciatic nerve ligation,which was significantly higher than that in the normal group and sham-operated group(105.11±3.52,104.22±5.41,F =78.861,P < 0.05),also significantly higher than that in the contralateral side(105.53±5.85,108.54±3.70,104.07±4.16,106.55±2.02,106.29±5.19,t =3.48-13.95,P < 0.05);There were no significant differences when comparing sham-operated group or contralateral side at each time point with normal group(P > 0.05)CONCLUSION:P2X3 is significantly down regulated in L4-6 DRG after sciatic nerve ligation.It may exert certain effects in neuropathic pain. | Guoxing Zhou Lesi Xie Qiben Wang Qingping Yu Xiaofu Liu Qiumei Liu Wei Peng Zhicheng Zeng | 2007 | Neural Regeneration Research2007,2,4: | 3 |

First, we generalize Fang's results concerning Samuel multiplicity from semi-Fredholm operators to essentially semi-regular operators by elementary methods in operator theory. Second, we study the structure of essentially semi-regular operators. More precisely, we present a revised version of Fang's 4 × 4 upper triangular model with a little modification, and prove it in detail after providing numerous preliminary results, some of which are inspired by Fang's paper. | 12 | 睾丸的原发性NK/T细胞淋巴瘤一例报告及文献复习(英文)显示文摘Objective: To study the clinical and pathological features of primary NK/T cell lymphoma of testis and to investi- gate the effective diagnosis and treatment of this disease. Methods: The surgical specimens of a patient with primary NK/T cell lymphoma of the testis were observed by light microscopy, immunohistochemistry and examined by the polymerase chain reaction (PCR) for Epstein-Barr virus (EBV) DNA and T-cell receptor (TCR) gene rearrangement, and the literature were reviewed. Results: The patient presented with left-sided painless testicular enlargement and the lymphoma had a propensity to spread to the contralateral testis, spleen, central nervous system, and so on. The neoplastic cells were positive for CD56, CD45R0 and CD3ε, while the expressions of CD20, CD79α, CD5, Bcl-2 and PLAP were negative. In addition, the EBV DNA was detected in the lymphoma by PCR. And the results of gene rearrangement studies for the γ chain of the T-cell receptor were negative. The pathological diagnosis was NK/T cell lymphoma of the left testis. Conclusion: Primary NK/T cell lym- phoma of the testis is a rare entity and progressed rapidly. The histopathological, immunohistochemical, EBV examination and TCR gene rearrangement studies should be carried out as soon as possible in order to get the defined diagnosis.
