1Uncertainties in assessing the effect of climate change on agriculture using model simulation and uncertainty processing methods显示文摘Model simulation is an important way to study the effects of climate change on agriculture.Such assessment is subject to a range of uncertainties because of either incomplete knowledge or model technical uncertainties,impeding effective decision-making to climate change.On the basis of uncertainties in the impact assessment at different levels,this article systematically summarizes the sources and propagation of uncertainty in the assessment of the effect of climate change on agriculture in terms of the climate projection,the assessment process,and the crop models linking to climate models.Meanwhile,techniques and methods focusing on different levels and sources of uncertainty and uncertainty propagation are introduced,and shortcomings and insufficiencies in uncertainty processing are pointed out.Finally,in terms of how to accurately assess the effect of climate change on agriculture,improvements to further decrease potential uncertainty are suggested.YAO FengMei QIN PengCheng ZHANG JiaHua LIN ErDa BOKEN Vijendra 2011Chinese Science Bulletin2011,56,8:21
2Research on vibration suppression of a mistuned blisk by a piezoelectric network显示文摘The work aims to provide a further investigation of the dynamic characteristics of an integral bladed disk(also called ‘blisk') with a Parallel Piezoelectric Network(PPN). The PPN is constructed by parallelly interconnecting the piezoelectric patches distributed in the blisk. Two kinds of PPN are considered, namely mono-periodic PPN and bi-periodic PPN. The former has a piezoelectric patch in each sector, and the later has one patch every few sectors. The vibration suppression performance of both kinds of PPN has been studied through modal analysis, forced response analysis, and statistical analysis. The research results turn out that the PPN will only affect mechanical frequencies near the electrical frequency clusters slightly, and the bi-periodic PPN will make the nodal diameter spectrum of the modes more complex, but the amplitude corresponding to the new nodal diameter component is much smaller than that of the nodal diameter component corresponding to the mono-periodic system. The mechanical coupling between the blades and the disk plays an important role in the damping effect of the PPN, and it should be paid attention to in applications. The mono-periodic PPN can effectively suppress the amplitude magnification of the forced response induced by the mistuning of the blisk; meanwhile, it can mitigate the vibration localization of the mistuned electromechanical system. 3Long-term monitoring revealed fish assemblage zonation in the Three Gorges Reservoir显示文摘Reservoirs are important artificial ecosystems that modify the hydrological and ecological characteristics of a river. Knowledge of the basic characteristics of fish assemblages in reservoirs is a first step toward the development of effective conservation policies. We used the information collected over a 10-year period (2006-2015) to assess the structure of the fish assemblages in the Three Gorge Reservoir (TGR) in a river-dam gradient. Three fish zones were detected in TGR. Species richness was the highest in the upper zone and lowest in the lower zone. The riverine zones were dominated by rheophilic species Coreius guichenoti and Pelteobagrus vachelli. The transitional zones were dominated by Coreius heterodon and Rhinogobio cylindricus. The lacustrine zones were dominated by eurytopic species Hypophthalmichthys molitrix, Aristichthys nobilis, Hemiculter bleekeri and Cyprinus carpio. For the functional characteristics, fish assemblages in riverine and transitional zones were dominated by insectivorous species, equilibrium strategists and rheophilic species (e.g., Coreius heterodon and Coreius guichenoti). In lacustrine zones, the fish assemblage was dominated by habitat generalists common to lakes and reservoirs (e.g., Hemiculter bleekeri, Hypophthalmichthys molitrix, Aristichthys nobilis). Moreover, 18 exotic species (e.g., Protosalanx hyalocranius, Ictalurus punctatus, Megalobrama amblycephala, Tilapia) were collected in TGR, most of which only existed in the lacustrine zone. 4Dynamic characteristics of a cyclic-periodic structure with a piezoelectric network显示文摘This paper deals with a cyclic-periodic structure with a piezoelectric network. In such a system, there is not only mechanical connection but also electrical connection between adjacent periodic sectors. The objective is to learn whether the presence of a piezoelectric network would change the dynamic characteristics of the system. The background of the research is about vibration reduction of a bladed disk in an aero-engine, and the system is simulated by a lumped parameter model. The dynamic equations of the system are derived, and then the analytical solution corresponding to the eigenvalue problem is given. The vibration responses to single traveling wave excitations(EO excitations) and multiple traveling wave excitations(NEO excitations) are studied.The results show that the presence of a piezoelectric network would change the natural frequencies of the system compared with those of the system with the piezoelectric shunt circuit. The forced response is sensitive to the connection type and the elements of the network. 5Modification strategies on transition metal-based electrocatalysts for efficient water splitting显示文摘Electrocatalytic water splitting driven by electrocatalysts is recognized as a promising strategy to generate clean hydrogen fuel.Searching and constructing high-efficient and low-cost electrocatalysts is vital in the practical applications of electrocatalytic water splitting.Although transition metal-based materials have been considered as promising electrocatalysts,the satisfactory activities are usually not built on the bulk materials,but strongly relying on elaborately designing these electrocatalysts.Herein,the recent theoretical and experimental progress on modification strategies to improve the intrinsic activities is summarized,especially including element doping,phase engineering,structure cooperation,interface engineering,vacancy engineering,strain engineering and self-functionalization.Finally,the future opportunities and challenges on these modification strategies are also proposed.Overall,it is anticipated that these modification strategies offer some new understandings on rationally constructing non-noble electrocatalysts for efficient electrocatalytic water splitting.Yaotian Yan Pengcheng Wang Jinghuang Lin Jian Cao Junlei Qi 2021Journal of Energy Chemistry2021,30,7:4

8Characteristics of Eddy Current Attenuation and Thickness Measurement of Metallic Plate显示文摘In eddy current testing, the law of attenuation of eddy current(EC) is of great concern. In conductive half space under the excitation of uniform magnetic field, the EC density decreases exponentially in the depth direction. However, in conductor with finite thickness tested by coil, the distribution of EC in the depth direction is more complicated. This paper studies the characteristics of EC attenuation in metallic plate of finite thickness. Simulation results show that there is an EC reflection at the bottom of plate, which changes the law of EC attenuation. A new concept, namely the equivalent attenuation coefficient, is proposed to quantify the speed of EC attenuation. The characteristics of EC attenuation are utilized to explain the nonmonotonic relation between coil voltage and plate thickness. Procedure of selecting frequency is discussed. 11Remediation performance and mechanisms of Cu and Cd contaminated water and soil using Mn/Al-layered double oxide-loaded biochar显示文摘The combined pollution of heavy metals is ubiquitous worldwide.Mn/Al-layered double oxide-loaded crab shells biochar (LDO/BC) was prepared,so as to remediate the combined pollution of Cd and Cu in soil and water.The pristine and used LDO/BC were characterized and the results revealed that the layered double oxide was successfully loaded on crab shells biochar (BC) and metal element Ca in crab shells was beneficial to the formation of more regular layered and flake structure.The maximal adsorption capacity (Qm) of LDO/BC for aqueous Cu^(2+)and Cd^(2+)was 66.23 and 73.47 mg/g,respectively.LDO/BC and BC were used to remediate e-waste-contaminated soil for the first time and exhibited highly efficient performance.The extraction amount of Cu and Cd in the contaminated soil by diethylene triamine penta-acetic acid (DTPA) after treating with 5% LDO/BC was significantly reduced from 819.84 to 205.95 mg/kg (with passivation rate 74.8%) and 8.46 to 4.16 mg/kg(with passivation rate 50.8%),respectively,inferring that the bioavailability of heavy metals declined remarkably.The experimental result also suggested that after remediation by LDO/BC the exchangeable and weak acid soluble Cu and Cd in soil translated to reducible,residual and oxidizable fraction which are more stable state.Precipitation,complexation and ion exchange were proposed as the possible mechanisms for Cd and Cu removal.In general,these experiment results indicate that LDO/BC can be a potentially effective reagent for remediation of heavy metal contaminated water and soil.Pengcheng Lin Hang Liu Hua Yin Minghan Zhu Haoyu Luo Zhi Dang 2023Journal of Environmental Sciences2023,,3:2

14Effect of rock mechanical properties on electromagnetic radiation mechanism of rock fracturing显示文摘The influence of rock mechanical properties on the electromagnetic radiation(EMR)mechanism of rock fracturing is an important research topic in solid mechanics and earthquake prediction.In this study,an EMR model of rock fracturing considering the fracture factor,elastic modulus,Poisson’s ratio,radiation distance and crack length is derived based on the Hertz oscillator array assumption.An experimental system,including an electromagnetic shielding module,an EMR signal induction and transmission module,a signal recording module and a loading module,is developed to understand the EMR characteristics of four different rocks.The validity of the EMR theoretical model is verified and the relationships between the rock cracking morphology and the EMR waveform,amplitude and frequency are revealed.It is found that rock mechanical properties have obvious influences on the EMR waveform,amplitude and frequency during rock fracturing.This study provides a better understanding on the EMR mechanism of rock fracturing and can help to improve the accuracy of rock disaster prediction based on EMR.Peng Lin Pengcheng Wei Cheng Wang Shengzu Kang Xin Wang 2021Journal of Rock Mechanics and Geotechnical Engineering2021,13,4:2

17Single-atomic-site iron on N-doped carbon for chemoselective reduction of nitroarenes显示文摘A facile,gram-scale and sustainable approach has been established for the synthesis of single-atomic-site iron on N-doped carbon(Fe_(SA)@NC-20A)via the pyrolysis of aniline modified FeZn-ZIFs,in which the synthesis of zeolitic imidazolate frameworks(ZIFs)can be accomplished in water at room temperature,and no acid etching is required.The as-synthesized catalyst exhibits better performance on the chemoselective hydrogenation of nitroarenes with a broad substrate scope(turnover frequency(TOF)up to 1,727 h^(-1),23 examples)than most of previously reported works.Based on high-angle annular dark field scanning transmission microscopy(HAADF-STEM)images in combination with X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy(XPS),X-ray absorption spectroscopy(XAS),electron spin resonance(ESR),and Mossbauer spectroscopy,Fe is dispersed as single atoms via forming FeNx(x=4-6).This work not only determines the active sites of FesA@NC-20A for hydrogenation(FeN4),but also proposes tentative pathways for both N-H activation of hydrazine and the reduction of nitroarene on FeN4 site,both of which are the key steps for the hydrogenation of nitroarenes.In addition,this catalyst shows excellent stability,and no significant activity degradation is observed when recycling for 10 times or restoring in air for 2 months.Guoping Lu Kangkang Sun Yamei Lin Qixuan Du Jiawei Zhang Kui Wang Pengcheng Wang 2022Nano Research2022,15,1:1
18Reproductive characteristics of Psilorhynchus homaloptera Hora and Mukerji,1935 (Cyprinidae: Psilorhynchidae) in the lower Yarlung Zangbo River,Tibet显示文摘Psilorhynchus homaloptera mainly inhabits turbulent waters in the lower reach of the Yarlung Zangbo River,Tibet,China,and it is the only species of Psilorhynchus in China.However,many important aspects of its biology remain poorly documented,which hinders the conservation eff orts.Therefore,we studied its reproduction using 801 specimens from the Motuo sector of the lower Yarlung Zangbo River from December 2015 to November 2016.The sex ratio was 0.68꞉1(male꞉female)for the overall population.Females reached a larger total length and weight(134 mm and 18.6 g)than males did(113 mm and 12.2 g).Lengths at maturity were estimated 80.0 mm for males and 93.1 mm for females.Our analyses of gonad development and the size distribution of oocytes suggest that P.homaloptera is a single spawner with the peak spawning period between September and October.Furthermore,the estimated mean absolute fecundity was 557±204 eggs per fish,and mean relative fecundity was 50.9±10.9 eggs per g of female weight.The fecundity of P.homaloptera increased linearly with increasing total length,total weight,ovary weight,and age.This study on the reproductive biology of P.homaloptera demonstrates that the fish was in a vulnerable state due to the increasing anthropogenic activities in the lower Yarlung Zangbo River.Pengcheng LIN Huaming HU Fei LIU Mingzheng LI Huanzhang LIU 2021Journal of Oceanology and Limnology2021,39,4:1

20A scalable fish-school inspired self-assembled particle system for solar-powered water-solute separation显示文摘Complete separation of water and solute is the ultimate goal of water treatment,for maximized resource recycling.However,commercialized approaches such as evaporative crystallizers consume a large amount of electricity with a significant carbon footprint,leading to calls for alternative energy-efficient and eco-friendly strategies.Here,inspired by schooling fish,we demonstrate a collective system self-assembled by expanded polystyrene(EPS)-core/graphene oxide(GO)-shell particles,which enables autonomous,efficient and complete water-solute separation powered by sunlight.By taking advantage of surface tension,these tailored particles school together naturally and are bonded as a system to function collectively and coordinatively,to nucleate,grow and output salt crystals continuously and automatically out of even saturated brine,to complete water-solute separation.Solar-vapor conversion efficiency over 90%and salt production rate as high as 0.39 kg m^(-2) h^(-1) are achieved under 1-sun illumination for this system.It reduces the carbon footprint of~50 kg for treating 1-ton saturated brine compared with the commercialized approaches.Ning Xu Haoran Zhang Zhenhui Lin Jinlei Li Guoliang Liu Xiuqiang Li Wei Zhao Xinzhe Min Pengcheng Yao Lin Zhou Yan Song Bin Zhu Shining Zhu Jia Zhu 2021National Science Review2021,8,10:1
