| 1 | A simplified index to assess the combined impact of tropical cyclone precipitation and wind on China显示文摘Relationships between tropical cyclone(TC)precipitation,wind,and storm damage are analyzed for China based on TCs over the period from 1984 to 2013.The analysis shows that the maximum daily areal precipitation from stations with daily precipitation of ≥50 mm and the sum of wind gusts of ≥13.9 m/s can be used to estimate the main damage caused by TCs,and an index combining the precipitation and wind gust of a TC(IPWT)is defined to assess the severity of the combined impact of precipitation and wind.The correlation coefficient between IPWT and the damage index for affecting TCs is 0.80,which is higher than that for only precipitation or wind.All TCs with precipitation and wind affecting China are divided intofive categories,Category 0 to Category 4,based on IPWT,where higher categories refer to higher combined impacts of precipitation and wind.The combined impact category is closely related to damage category and it can be used to estimate the potential damage category in operational work.There are 87.7%,72.9%,69.8%,and 73.4%of cases that have the same or one category difference between damage category and combined impact category for Categories 1,2,3,and 4,respectively.IPWT and its classification can be used to assess the severity of the TC impact and of combined precipitation and wind conveniently and accurately,and the potential damage caused by TCs.The result will be a good supplementary data for TC intensity,precipitation,wind,and damage.In addition,IPWT can be used as an index to judge the reliability of damage data.Further analysis of the annual frequency of combined precipitation-wind impact categories reveals no significant increasing or decreasing trend in impact over China over the past 30 years. | Peiyan CHEN Hui YU Ming XU Xiaotu LEI Feng ZENG | 2019 | Frontiers of Earth Science2019,13,4: | 9 |
| 2 | GABAergic Abnormalities Associated with Sensorimotor Corticostriatal Community Structural Deficits in ErbB4 Knockout Mice and First-Episode Treatment-Naive Patients with Schizophrenia显示文摘The current study was designed to explore how disruption of specific molecular circuits in the cerebral cortex may cause sensorimotor cortico-striatal community structure deficits in both a mouse model and patients with schizophrenia.We used prepulse inhibition(PPI)and brain structural and diffusion MRI scans in 23 mice with conditional ErbB4 knockout in parvalbumin interneurons and 27 matched controls.Quantitative real-time PCR was used to assess the differential levels of GABA-related transcripts in brain regions.Concurrently,we measured structural and diffusion MRI and the cumulative contribution of risk alleles in the GABA pathway genes in firstepisode treatment-naı¨ve schizophrenic patients(n=117)and in age-and sex-matched healthy controls(n=86).We present the first evidence of gray and white matter impairment of right sensorimotor cortico-striatal networks and reproduced the sensorimotor gating deficit in a mouse model of schizophrenia.Significant correlations between gray matter volumes(GMVs)in the somatosensory cortex and PPI as well as glutamate decarboxylase 1 mRNA expression were found in controls but not in knockout mice.Furthermore,these findings were confirmed in a human sample in which we found significantly decreased gray and white matter in sensorimotor cortico-striatal networks in schizophrenic patients.The psychiatric risk alleles of the GABA pathway also displayed a significant negative correlation with the GMVs of the somatosensory cortex in patients.Our study identified that ErbB4 ablation in parvalbumin interneurons induced GABAergic dysregulation,providing valuable mechanistic insights into the sensorimotor cortico-striatal community structure deficits associated with schizophrenia. | Chengcheng Zhang Peiyan Ni Yikang Liu Yang Tian Jinxue Wei Bo Xiang Liansheng Zhao Xiaojing Li Xiaohong Ma Wei Deng Wanjun Guo Rongjun Ni Yamin Zhang Qiang Wang Hailiang Huang Nanyin Zhang Tao Li | 2020 | Neuroscience Bulletin2020,36,2: | 9 |

| 5 | Long-term trends in fog and boundary layer characteristics in Tianjin,China显示文摘Long-term trends in fog episodes,vertical variations of atmospheric boundary structure,and air pollutant concentrations during two different heavy fog events in the Tianjin area were analyzed.The total amount of fog has increased since 1980 due to the stability of the boundary layer and an increase of pollutant emissions.The variation in the characteristics of the boundary layer and air pollutant concentrations were significantly different between the two fog processes(fog 1 and fog II).The onset of fog I was accompanied by a temperature inversion in the low atmosphere,and the average kinetic energy showed a clear diurnal trend and vertical variation,which increased with height.The dissipation of fog I was mainly due to turbulence.However,the atmospheric stratification was not stable in the lower layer before the onset of fog II.The diurnal and vertical changes in kinetic energy were very small,in which turbulent momentum at each measurement height tended to be zero.In the dissipation process of fog II,wind speed increased significantly.Surface PM_(2.)5 concentrations decreased,but the ratio of PM_(2.5) to PM_(10)increased from 0.66 to 0.82 until fog I dissipated.However,the concentration of PM2.5 did not decrease at the early stage of fog II,but the ratio of PM_(2.5) to PM_(10) PM_(2.5)/PM_(10) decreased to 0.21 when fog II dissipated.This study showed that there was a clear difference in the evolution of pollutant concentration for different pollutants and in different developing stages during the fog events.PM2.5 concentration accumulated faster than those of SO_2 and NO_x,and the PM_(2.5) cumulative rate was greater in the mid-term of the fog process. | Suqin Han Ziying Cai Yufen Zhang Jiao Wang Qing Yao Peiyan Li Xiangjin Li | 2015 | Particuology2015,13,3: | 7 |
| 6 | Occurrence of antibiotic resistance genes and bacterial pathogens in water and sediment in urban recreational water显示文摘The emergence and prevalence of antibiotic resistance genes(ARGs) and pathogens in the environment are serious global health concern. However, information about the occurrence of ARGs and pathogens in recreational water is still limited. Accordingly, we investigated the occurrence of six ARGs and human pathogens in three recreational lakes, and the correlations between ARGs and one mobile genetic element(intI1) were analyzed. The quantitative PCR results showed that the concentration of ARGs ranged from 4.58 × 10~0 to 5.0 × 10~5 copies/mL in water and from 5.78 × 10~3 to 5.89 × 10~8 copies/g dry weight(dw)in sediment. Sul1 exhibited the highest level among the five quantifiable ARGs. The concentrations of sul1, bla_(-TEM), and tetX exhibited significant positive correlations with intI1(p < 0.05), indicating that intI1 may be involved in their proliferation. The detection frequencies of ARGs ranged from 75%–10~0%, indicating the prevalence of these risks in this region. The concentration of Escherichia coli, Aeromonas spp., Mycobacterium avium,Pseudomonas aeruginosa, and Salmonella enterica ranged from 10~3 to 10~5 copies/10~0 mL in water and 10~4–10~6 copies/g dw in sediment. In total, 25% of the samples harbored all pathogen genes, indicating the prevalence of these pathogens in recreational lakes.Furthermore, the next-generation sequencing results showed that 68 genera of pathogens were present, among which Aeromonas, Mycobacterium, and Pseudomonas were the dominant ones in this region, posing a considerable potential health risk to public health. | 7 | Evaluation of bacterial pathogen diversity,abundance and health risks in urban recreational water by amplicon next-generation sequencing and quantitative PCR显示文摘The microbial quality of urban recreational water is of great concern to public health.The monitoring of indicator organisms and several pathogens alone is not sufficient to accurately and comprehensively identify microbial risks.To assess the levels of bacterial pathogens and health risks in urban recreational water,we analyzed pathogen diversity and quantified four pathogens in 46 water samples collected from waterbodies in Beijing Olympic Forest Park in one year.The pathogen diversity revealed by 16 S r RNA gene targeted next-generation sequencing(NGS) showed that 16 of 40 genera and 13 of 76 reference species were present.The most abundant species were Acinetobacter johnsonii,Mycobacterium avium and Aeromonas spp.Quantitative polymerase chain reaction(q PCR) of Escherichia coli(uid A),Aeromonas(aer A),M.avium(16S r RNA),Pseudomonas aeruginosa(oaa) and Salmonella(inv A) showed that the aer A genes were the most abundant,occurring in all samples with concentrations of 10^(4–6) genome copies/100 m L,followed by oaa,inv A and M.avium.In total,34.8% of the samples harbored all genes,indicating the prevalence of these pathogens in this recreational waterbody.Based on the q PCR results,a quantitative microbial risk assessment(QMRA) showed that the annual infection risks of Salmonella,M.avium and P.aeruginosa in five activities were mostly greater than the U.S.EPA risk limit for recreational contacts,and children playing with water may be exposed to the greatest infection risk.Our findings provide a comprehensive understanding of bacterial pathogen diversity and pathogen abundance in urban recreational water by applying both NGS and q PCR. | Qijia Cui Tingting Fang Yong Huang Peiyan Dong Hui Wang | 2017 | Journal of Environmental Sciences2017,29,7: | 5 |

| 10 | PERFORMANCE OF TROPICAL CYCLONE FORECAST IN WESTERN NORTH PACIFIC IN 2016显示文摘The forecasts of tropical cyclones(TC) in 2016 from 5 official guidances, 5 global models, 3 regional models and 6 ensemble systems were assessed to study the current capabilities of track and intensity forecasts for the western North Pacific. In 2016, the position errors for each official agency were under 85, 150 and 250 km at the lead times of 24, 48, and 72 h, respectively,indicating the performance of track forecasts was a little worse than that in 2015. For each lead time, decreases were seen for each quantile value of the global models from 2010 to 2015; however, this progress in forecasts was stagnated or was reversed in 2016, especially for long lead times.A new error tracking tool,called a 'Track Error Rose',was used to visualize the spatial distributions of the track forecast error relative to the observed TC center. The results show that as lead time increases, the moving speed of most global model TC forecasts becomes slower than those of the observations, and the largest track error often appears to the south of the observation position. | 11 | Bohai crude oil identification by gas chromatogram fingerprinting quantitative analysis coupled with cluster analysis显示文摘By gas chromatogram, six crude oils fingerprinting distributed in four oilfields and four oil platforms were analyzed and the corresponding normal paraffin hydrocarbon (including pristane and phytane) concentration was obtained by the internal standard method. The normal paraffin hydrocarbon distribution patterns of six crude oils were built and compared. The cluster analysis on the normal paraffin hydrocarbon concentration was conducted for classification and some ratios of oils were used for oils comparison. The results indicated: there was a clear difference within different crude oils in different oil fields and a small difference between the crude oils in the same oil platform. | 12 | Pre-moxibustion and moxibustion prevent Alzheimer's disease显示文摘The Alzheimer's disease model in Wistar rats was established by injection of amyloid β-peptide(Aβ1–42) into the hippocampal CA1 region. Rats were treated with suspended moxibustion on Baihui(GV20) and Shenshu(BL23) acupoints. Prior to and post Aβ1–42exposure. Results showed no evidence of apoptosis in hippocampal neurons, a significantly reduced apoptosis rate of neurons and improved learning and memory abilities were observed in the Alzheimer's disease model. In particular, moxibustion prior to Aβ1–42exposure was more effective than moxibustion after Aβ1–42exposure in protecting the neuronal structure and lowering the apoptosis rate. | 14 | Diversity of the aerobic anoxygenic phototrophy gene pufM in Arctic and Antarctic coastal seawaters显示文摘Aerobic anoxygenic phototrophic(AAP) bacteria serve important functions in marine carbon and energy cycling because of their capability to utilize dissolved organic substrates and harvest light energy.AAP bacteria are widely distributed in marine environments,and their diversity has been examined in marine habitats.However,information about AAP bacteria at high latitudes remains insufficient to date.Therefore,this study determined the summer AAP bacterial diversity in Arctic Kongsfjorden and in the Antarctic coastal seawater of King George Island on the basis of puf M,a gene that encodes a pigment-binding protein subunit of the reaction center complex.Four puf M clone libraries were constructed,and 674 positive clones were obtained from four investigated stations(two in Kongsfjorden and two in the Antarctic Maxwell Bay).Arctic clones were clustered within the Alphaproteobacteria,whereas Antarctic clones were classified into the Alphaproteobacteria and Betaproteobacteria classes.Rhodobacteraceae-like puf M genes dominated in all samples.In addition,sequences closely related to puf M encoded on a plasmid in Sulfitobacter guttiformis were predominant in both Arctic and Antarctic samples.This result indicates the transpolar or even global distribution of puf M genes in marine environments.Meanwhile,differences between the Arctic and Antarctic sequences may prove polar endemism.These results indicate the important role of Rhodobacteraceae as AAP bacteria in bipolar coastal waters. | ZENG Yinxin DONG Peiyan QIAO Zongyun ZHENG Tianling | 2016 | Acta Oceanologica Sinica2016,35,6: | 3 |

| 17 | Reactive sintering of B4C-TaB2 ceramics via carbide boronizing:Reaction process, microstructure and mechanical properties显示文摘Carbide boronizing is a promising approach to obtain fine grained boron carbide based ceramics with improved mechanical properties. In this work, reaction process, microstructural characteristics and mechanical properties of BxC-TaB2(x = 3.7, 4.9, 7.1) ceramics were comprehensively investigated via this method. Dense BxC-TaB2 ceramics with refined microstructure were obtained from submicro tantalum carbide and boron powder mixtures at 1800℃/50 MPa/5 min by spark plasma sintering. The stoichiometry of boron carbide was determined from lattice parameters and Raman shift. It was found that uniformly distributed TaB2 grains in the BxC matrix is favor of the densification process and restricting grain growth.Besides, planar defects with high density were observed from the as-formed B7.1 C grains and transient stress was considered to contribute to the densification involved with plastic deformation. Microstructural observations indicate the dissolution of oxygen in the TaB2 lattice and most of the B7.1 C/TaB2 phase boundaries were clean. | 19 | A Potential Risk Index Dataset for Landfalling Tropical Cyclones over the Chinese Mainland(PRITC dataset V1.0)显示文摘A dataset entitled“A potential risk index dataset for landfalling tropical cyclones over the Chinese mainland”(PRITC dataset V1.0)is described in this paper,as are some basic statistical analyses.Estimating the severity of the impacts of tropical cyclones(TCs)that make landfall on the Chinese mainland based on observations from 1401 meteorological stations was proposed in a previous study,including an index combining TC-induced precipitation and wind(IPWT)and further information,such as the corresponding category level(CAT_IPWT),an index of TC-induced wind(IWT),and an index of TC-induced precipitation(IPT).The current version of the dataset includes TCs that made landfall from 1949-2018;the dataset will be extended each year.Long-term trend analyses demonstrate that the severity of the TC impacts on the Chinese mainland have increased,as embodied by the annual mean IPWT values,and increases in TC-induced precipitation are the main contributor to this increase.TC Winnie(1997)and TC Bilis(2006)were the two TCs with the highest IPWT and IPT values,respectively.The PRITC V1.0 dataset was developed based on the China Meteorological Administration’s tropical cyclone database and can serve as a bridge between TC hazards and their social and economic impacts. | Peiyan CHEN Hui YU Kevin K.W.CHEUNG Jiajie XIN Yi LU | 2021 | Advances in Atmospheric Sciences2021,38,10: | 2 |
| 20 | Recent advances in hydrogel-based anti-infective coatings显示文摘Bacterial infections associated with biomedical devices and implants have posed a great challenge to global healthcare systems.These infections are mainly caused by bacterial biofilm formed on the surface of biomaterials,protecting the encapsulated bacteria from conventional antibiotic treatment and attack of the immune system.As the bacterial biofilm is difficult to eradicate,bactericidal and antifouling coatings have emerged as promising strategies to prevent biofilm fo rmation and subsequent infections.Hydrogels with three-dimensional crosslinked hydrophilic networks,tunable mechanical property and large drugloading capacity are desirable coating materials,which can kill bacteria and/or prevent bacterial adhesion on the surface,inhibiting biofilm formation.Herein,we review recent developments of hydrogels as anti-infective coatings.Particularly,we highlight two chemical approaches(graft-from and graft-to),which have been used to immobilize hydrogels on surfaces,and present advances in the development of bactericidal(contact-killing and antimicrobial-releasing),antifouling(hydrophilic polymer network)and bifunctional hydrogel coatings with both bactericidal and antifouling activities.In addition,the challe nges of hydrogel coatings for clinical applications are discussed,and future research directions of anti-infective hydrogel coatings are proposed. | Mengjing Fu Yijing Liang Xue Lv Chengnan Li Yi Yan Yang Peiyan Yuan Xin Ding | 2021 | Journal of Materials Science & Technology2021,,26: | 1 |
