| 1 | 42,573 cases of hepatectomy in China: a multicenter retrospective investigation显示文摘Hepatectomy is currently routinely performed in most hospitals in China. China owns the largest population of liver diseases and the biggest number of liver resection cases. A nationwide multicenter retrospective investigation involving 112 hospitals was performed, and focused on liver resection for patients with hepatocellular carcinoma(HCC). 42,573 cases of hepatectomy were enrolled, and 18,275 valid cases of liver resection for HCC patients were selected for statistical analysis. The epidemiology of HCC, distribution of hepatectomy, postoperative complications and prognosis were finally analyzed. In the 18,275 HCC patients,81% had hepatitis B virus infection and 10% had hepatitis C virus infection. 38% of the HCC patients had normal Alphafetoprotein(AFP) level, and other 35% had an AFP level lower than 400 ng mL^(-1). In the study period, 97% of the hepatectomy for HCC were treated with open surgery, and 23.81% had vascular exclusion techniques. The operation time was(191.7±105.6) min,the blood loss was(546.0±562.8) m L, and blood transfusion was(543.0±1,035.2) m L. The median survival for HCC patients was 631 days, with 1-, 3-, and 5-year overall survival of 73.2%, 28.8% and 19.6%, respectively. | 2 | Changes in rice cropping systems in the Poyang Lake Region, China during 2004-2010显示文摘Rice cropping systems not only characterize comprehensive utilization intensity of agricultural resources but also serve as the basis to enhance the provision services of agro-ecosystems.Yet,it is always affected by external factors,like agricultural policies.Since 2004,seven consecutive No.1 Central Documents issued by the Central Government have focused on agricultural development in China.So far,few studies have investigated the ef-fects of these policies on the rice cropping systems.In this study,based upon the long-term field survey information on paddy rice fields,we proposed a method to discriminate the rice cropping systems with Landsat data and quantified the spatial variations of rice cropping systems in the Poyang Lake Region(PLR),China.The results revealed that:(1) from 2004 to 2010,the decrement of paddy rice field was 46.76 km2 due to the land use change.(2) The temporal dynamics of NDVI derived from Landsat historical images could well characterize the temporal development of paddy rice fields.NDVI curves of single cropping rice fields showed one peak,while NDVI curves of double cropping rice fields displayed two peaks an-nually.NDVI of fallow field fluctuated between 0.15 and 0.40.NDVI of the flooded field during the transplanting period was relatively low,about 0.20±0.05,while NDVI during the period of panicle initiation to heading reached the highest level(above 0.80).Then,several temporal windows were determined based upon the NDVI variations of different rice cropping systems.(3) With the spatial pattern of paddy rice field and the NDVI threshold within optimum tem-poral windows,the spatial variation of rice cropping systems was very obvious,with an in-creased multiple cropping index of rice about 20.2% from 2004 to 2010.The result indicates that agricultural policies have greatly enhanced the food provision services in the PLR,China. | LI Peng FENG Zhiming JIANG Luguang LIU Yujie XIAO Xiangming | 2012 | Journal of Geographical Sciences2012,22,4: | 23 |

| 7 | High performance columnar-like Fe2O3@carbon composite anode via yolk@shell structural design显示文摘Conversion-type reaction anode materials with high specific capacity are attractive candidates to improve lithium ion batteries(LIBs), yet the rapid capacity fading and poor rate capability caused by drastic volume change and low electronic conductivity greatly hinder their practical applications. To circumvent these issues, the successful design of yolk@shell Fe2 O3@C hybrid composed of a columnar-like Fe2O3 core within a hollow cavity completely surrounded by a thin, self-supported carbon(C) shell is presented as an anode for high-performance LIBs. This yolk@shell structure allows each Fe2O3 core to swell upon lithiation without deforming the carbon shell. This preserves the structural and electrical integrity against pulverization, as revealed by in situ transmission electron microscopy(TEM) measurement. Benefiting from these structural advantages, the resulting electrode exhibits a high reversible capacity(1013 m Ah g-1 after80 cycles at 0.2 A g-1), outstanding rate capability(710 m Ah g-1 at 8 A g-1) and superior cycling stability(800 m Ah g-1 after 300 cycles at 4 A g-1). | 11 | Sparse kernel logistic regression based on L_(1/2) regularization显示文摘The sparsity driven classification technologies have attracted much attention in recent years,due to their capability of providing more compressive representations and clear interpretation.Two most popular classification approaches are support vector machines(SVMs) and kernel logistic regression(KLR),each having its own advantages.The sparsification of SVM has been well studied,and many sparse versions of 2-norm SVM,such as 1-norm SVM(1-SVM),have been developed.But,the sparsifiation of KLR has been less studied.The existing sparsification of KLR is mainly based on L1 norm and L2 norm penalties,which leads to the sparse versions that yield solutions not so sparse as it should be.A very recent study on L1/2 regularization theory in compressive sensing shows that L1/2 sparse modeling can yield solutions more sparse than those of 1 norm and 2 norm,and,furthermore,the model can be efficiently solved by a simple iterative thresholding procedure.The objective function dealt with in L1/2 regularization theory is,however,of square form,the gradient of which is linear in its variables(such an objective function is the so-called linear gradient function).In this paper,through extending the linear gradient function of L1/2 regularization framework to the logistic function,we propose a novel sparse version of KLR,the 1/2 quasi-norm kernel logistic regression(1/2-KLR).The version integrates advantages of KLR and L1/2 regularization,and defines an efficient implementation scheme of sparse KLR.We suggest a fast iterative thresholding algorithm for 1/2-KLR and prove its convergence.We provide a series of simulations to demonstrate that 1/2-KLR can often obtain more sparse solutions than the existing sparsity driven versions of KLR,at the same or better accuracy level.The conclusion is also true even in comparison with sparse SVMs(1-SVM and 2-SVM).We show an exclusive advantage of 1/2-KLR that the regularization parameter in the algorithm can be adaptively set whenever the sparsity(correspondingly,the number of support vectors) is given,which suggests a methodology of comparing sparsity promotion capability of different sparsity driven classifiers.As an illustration of benefits of 1/2-KLR,we give two applications of 1/2-KLR in semi-supervised learning,showing that 1/2-KLR can be successfully applied to the classification tasks in which only a few data are labeled. | XU Chen PENG ZhiMing JING WenFeng | 2013 | Science China(Information Sciences)2013,56,4: | 5 |

| 17 | Shortwave infrared hyperspectral imaging for detection of pH value in Fuji apple显示文摘pH value is regarded as one of the most important attributes that affect sensory characteristics and edible quality of apple.The objective of the research was to explore the feasibility of applying shortwave infrared hyperspectral imaging system to detect the pH value of apple.A shortwave infrared hyperspectral imaging system was developed over the wavelength region of 1000-2500 nm and used to acquire hyperspectral images of apple samples.After reflectance calibration,mean reflectance spectral was calculated by averaging the intensity of all pixels within the roundness region of interest(ROI).Synergy interval partial least squares(siPLS)algorithms as an effective multivariable method was conducted on the calibration of regression model to estimate the pH value in Fuji apple.The performance of the final model was back-evaluated according to root mean square error of calibration(RMSEC)and correlation coefficient(Rc)in calibration set,and tested in prediction set.The optimal prediction siPLS model was obtained with correlation coefficient(Rp)of 0.8474 and mean square error of prediction(RMSEP)of 0.0398.The results indicated that shortwave infrared hyperspectral imaging combined with siPLS chemometrics could be an accurate and fast method for nondestructive prediction of pH value in Fuji apple. | Guo Zhiming Huang Wenqian Chen Liping Peng Yankun Wang Xiu | 2014 | International Journal of Agricultural and Biological Engineering2014,7,2: | 3 |
| 18 | A Review: Enhanced Anodes of Li/Na-Ion Batteries Based on Yolk–Shell Structured Nanomaterials显示文摘Lithium-ion batteries(LIBs) and sodium-ion batteries(SIBs) have received much attention in energy storage system. In particular, among the great efforts on enhancing the performance of LIBs and SIBs, yolk–shell(YS) structured materials have emerged as a promising strategy toward improving lithium and sodium storage. YS structures possess unique interior void space, large surface area and short diffusion distance, which can solve the problems of volume expansion and aggregation of anode materials, thus enhancing the performance of LIBs and SIBs. In this review, we present a brief overview of recent advances in the novel YS structures of spheres, polyhedrons and rods with controllable morphology and compositions. | 20 | Acquisition probability differences in cloud coverage of the available Landsat observations over mainland Southeast Asia from 1986 to 2015显示文摘Landsat data are the longest available records that consistently document global change.However,the extent and degree of cloud coverage typically determine its usability,especially in the tropics.In this study,scene-based metadata from the U.S.Geological Survey Landsat inventories,ten-day,monthly,seasonal,and annual acquisition probabilities(AP)of targeted images at various cloud coverage thresholds(10%to 100%)were statistically analyzed using available Landsat TM,ETM+,and OLI observations over mainland Southeast Asia(MSEA)from 1986 to 2015.Four significant results were found.First,the cumulative average acquisition probability of available Landsat observations over MSEA at the 30%cloud cover(CC)threshold was approximately 41.05%.Second,monthly and ten-day level probability statistics for the 30%CC threshold coincide with the temporal distribution of the dry and rainy seasons.This demonstrates that Landsat images acquired during the dry season satisfy the requirements needed for land cover monitoring.Third,differences in acquisition probabilities at the 30%CC threshold are different between the western and eastern regions of MSEA.Finally,the ability of TM,ETM+,and OLI to acquire high-quality imagery has gradually enhanced over time,especially during the dry season,along with consequently larger probabilities at lower CC thresholds. | Peng Li Zhiming Feng Chiwei Xiao | 2018 | International Journal of Digital Earth2018,11,5: | 2 |
