| 1 | Mapping wetland changes in China between 1978 and 2008显示文摘Four wetland maps for all China have been produced,based on Landsat and CBERS-02B remote sensing data between 1978 and 2008 (1978,1990,2000 and 2008).These maps were mainly developed by manual interpretation and validated by substantial field investigation in 2009.Based on these maps,we analyzed the 2008 wetland distribution in China and discussed wetland changes and their drivers over the past 30 years.(i) There were about 324097 km 2 of wetlands in 2008,for which inland marshes or swamps were the most common wetland type (35%),with lakes (26%) second.Most of the wetlands were in Heilongjiang,Inner Mongolia,Qinghai and Tibet,occupying about 55% of the national wetland area.(ii) From 1978 to 2008,China's wetland area continually and significantly decreased,by about 33% based on changes in the wetland map.This was in sharp contrast to the increase in artificial wetlands,which increased by about 122%.Inland marshes accounted for the main loss of total wetlands from 1978 to 2000.From 2000 through 2008,riverine and lacustrine wetlands constituted the main wetland loss.Fortunately however,the rate of wetland loss decreased from 5523 to 831 km 2 /a.(iii) The change ratio of lost natural wetlands (including inland and coastal wetlands) to non-wetlands has decreased slightly over the past 30 years.From 1978 to 1990,nearly all natural wetlands (98%) lost were transformed into non-wetlands.However,the ratio declined to 86% from 1990 to 2000,and to 77% from 2000 to 2008.(iv) All Chinese provinces were divided into three groups according to patterns of wetland changes,which could relate to the driving forces of such changes.Tibet was completely different from other provinces,as it was one representative example in which there was a net wetland increase,because of global warming and decreased human activity since 1990.Increased economic development caused considerable wetland loss in most eastern provinces,and artificial wetlands increased. | NIU ZhenGuo ZHANG HaiYing WANG XianWei YAO WenBo ZHOU DeMin ZHAO KuiYi ZHAO Hui LI NaNa HUANG HuaBing LI CongCong YANG Jun LIU CaiXia LIU Shuang WANG Lin LI Zhan YANG ZhenZhong QIAO Fei ZHENG YaoMin CHEN YanLei SHENG YongWei GAO XiaoHong ZHU WeiHong WANG WenQing WANG Hong WENG YongLing ZHUANG DaFang LIU JiYuan LUO ZhiCai CHENG Xiao GUO ZiQi GONG Peng | 2012 | Chinese Science Bulletin2012,57,22: | 51 |

| 4 | The first all-season sample set for mapping global land cover with Landsat-8 data显示文摘We report the world's first all-season training and validation sample sets for global land cover classification with Landsat-8 data.Prior to this,such samples were only available at a single date primarily from the growing season.It is unknown how much limitation such a single-date sample has to mapping global land cover in other seasons of the year.To answer this question,we selected available Landsat-8 images from four seasons and collected training and validation samples from them.We compared the performances of training samples in different seasons using Random Forest algorithm.We found that the use of training samples from any individual season would result in the best overall classification accuracy when validated by samples in the same season.The global overall accuracy from combined best seasonal results was 67.2% when classifying the 11 Level-1 classes in the Finer Resolution Observation and Monitoring of Global Land Cover(FROM-GLC) classification system.The use of training samples from all seasons(named all-season training sample set hereafter) produced an overall accuracy of 67.0%.We also tested classification within 10° latitude 60° longitude zones using all-season training subsample within each zone and obtained an overall accuracy of 70.2%.This indicates that properly grouped subsamples in space can help improve classification accuracies.All the results in this study seem to suggest that it is possible to use an all-season training sample set to reach global optimality with universal applicability in classifying images acquired at any time of a year for global land cover mapping. | Congcong Li Peng Gong Jie Wang Zhiliang Zhu Gregory S. | 5 | Ozone sensitivity analysis with the MM5-CMAQ modeling system for Shanghai显示文摘Ozone has become one of the most important air pollution issues around the world. This article applied both O 3 /(NOy-NOx) and H 2 O 2 /HNO 3 indicators to analyze the ozone sensitivity in urban and rural areas of Shanghai, with implementation of the MM5-CMAQ modeling system in July, 2007. The meteorological parameters were obtained by using the MM5 model. A regional emission inventory with spatial and temporal allocation based on the statistical data has been developed to provide input emission data to the MM5-CMAQ modeling system. Results showed that the ozone concentrations in Shanghai show clear regional differences. The ozone concentration in rural areas was much higher than that in the urban area. | 6 | Influence of Water Stress on Endogenous Hormone Contents and Cell Damage of Maize Seedlings显示文摘Phytohormones play critical roles in regulating plant responses to stress. We investigated the effects of water stress induced by adding 12% (w/v) polyethylene glycol to the root medium on the levels of abscisic acid (ABA), indole-3-acid (IAA), zeatin (ZT), and gibberellin3 (GA3) in maize leaves. The results suggested that water stress had significant effects on the four hormone levels. There was a transient increase in the IAA content during the initial stage of adaptation to water stress in maize leaves, but it dropped sharply thereafter in response to water stress. ABA content increased dramatically in maize leaves after 24 h of exposure to water stress, and then the high levels of ABA were maintained to the end. The contents of ZT and GA3 rapidly declined in maize leaves subjected to water stress. The effects of water stress on chlorophyll content, electrolyte leakage and malondialdehyde levels in maize leaves were also studied. The variation of cell damage was negatively correlated with ZT and GA3 levels in maize leaves under water stress. Thus, we explored the roles of ZT and GA3 on the growth of maize seedlings under water stress by exogenous application. | 11 | Integrated analysis of transcriptomic and proteomic data from tree peony(P.ostii)seeds reveals key developmental stages and candidate genes related to oil biosynthesis and fatty acid metabolism显示文摘Tree peony(Paeonia section Moutan DC.)seeds are an excellent source of beneficial natural compounds that promote health,and they contain high levels of alpha-linolenic acid(ALA).In recent years,tree peony has been emerging as an oil crop.Therefore,combined analysis of the transcriptome and proteome of tree peony(P.ostii)seeds at 25,32,39,53,67,81,88,95,and 109 days after pollination(DAP)was conducted to better understand the transcriptional and translational regulation of seed development and oil biosynthesis.A total of 38,482 unigenes and 2841 proteins were identified.A total of 26,912 differentially expressed genes(DEGs)and 592 differentially expressed proteins(DEPs)were clustered into three groups corresponding to the rapid growth,seed inclusion enrichment and conversion,and late dehydration and mature stages of seed development.Fifteen lipid metabolism pathways were identified at both the transcriptome and proteome levels.Pathway enrichment analysis revealed that a period of rapid fatty acid biosynthesis occurred at 53–88 DAP.Furthermore,211 genes and 35 proteins associated with the fatty acid metabolism pathway,63 genes and 11 proteins associated with the biosynthesis of unsaturated fatty acids(UFAs),and 115 genes and 24 proteins associated with ALA metabolism were identified.Phylogenetic analysis revealed that 16 putative fatty acid desaturase(FAD)-encoding genes clustered into four FAD groups,eight of which exhibited the highest expression at 53 DAP,suggesting that they play an important role in ALA accumulation.RT-qPCR analysis indicated that the temporal expression patterns of oil biosynthesis genes were largely similar to the RNA-seq results.The expression patterns of fatty acid metabolism-and seed development-related proteins determined by MRM were also highly consistent with the results obtained in the proteomic analysis.Correlation analysis indicated significant differences in the number and abundance of DEGs and DEPs but a high level of consistency in expression patterns and metabolic pathways.The results of the present study represent the first combined transcriptomic and proteomic analysis of tree peony seeds and provide insight into tree peony seed development and oil accumulation. | Xiaojing Wang Haiying Liang Dalong Guo Lili Guo Xiangguang Duan Qishi Jia Xiaogai Hou | 2019 | Horticulture Research2019,6,1: | 9 |

| 15 | Long baroclinic Rossby waves with periods of about 500 d near 20°N in the northwest Pacific Ocean显示文摘On the basis of maps of sea level anomalies data set from October 1992 to January 2004, pronounced low frequency variations with periods of about 500 d are detected in the area near 20°N from 160°W to 130°E. A linear two-layer model is employed to explain the mechanism. It is found that the first-mode long baroclinic Rossby waves at 20°N in the northwest Pacific propagate westward in the form of free waves at a speed of about 10.3 cm/s. This confirms that the observed low frequency variabilities appear as baroclinic Rossby waves. | 18 | Xeno-repopulation of Fah^(-/-)Nod/Scid mice livers by human hepatocytes显示文摘Functional human hepatocytes xenografted into the liver of mice can be used as a model system to study pharmacokinetics,infection of hepatitis viruses,and the efficacy of hepatitis vaccines.Significant levels of liver xeno-repopulation have been reported in Fah-/-Rag2-/-Il2rg-/-mice.However,the high mortality and low breeding rate of this model may hinder its application.A new model,termed Fah-/-Nod/Scid mice,which combines the advantages of liver repopulation in Fah-/-mice with the ease of xenotransplantation in Nod/Scid mice was obtained by gradual cross-breeding.Fah-/-Nod/Scid mice were easily maintained in breeding colonies and in adult animal care facilities.FK506 treatment combined with gradual withdrawal of NTBC before cell transplantation ensured that Fah-/-Nod/Scid mice were susceptible to liver xeno-repopulation by human hepatocytes;the proportion of engrafted human hepatocytes reached 33.6%.The function of the expanded human hepatocytes within the chimeric liver was confirmed by weight curve analysis,the expression of characteristic proteins,and the biochemical analysis of liver function.These results show that Fah-/-Nod/Scid mice are an ideal humanized liver mouse model with many useful applications. | SU BaoLiang LIU ChangCheng XIANG Dao ZHANG HaiBin YUAN SiMing WANG MinJun CHEN Fei ZHU HaiYing HE ZhiYing WANG Xin HU YiPing | 2011 | Science China(Life Sciences)2011,54,3: | 5 |
| 19 | Production of aryl oxygen-containing compounds by catalytic pyrolysis of bagasse lignin over LaTi0.2Fe0.8O3 prepared by different methods显示文摘To realize the resource and high-value utilization,a new approach,named bagasse lignin(BL) used to produce aryl oxygen-containing compounds by catalytic pyrolysis over perovskite,was proposed,LaTi0.2Fe0.8O3(LTF) samples prepared by the sol-gel method(SG) and the solid-state reaction method(SS)were characterized.The catalytic action on BL pyrolysis was performed by the test of TG-DTG and the evaluation of the fixed bed micro-reactor,the components and contents of the products were determined.The results show that LTF samples have cubic perovskite phase,LTF prepared by SG(LTF-SG) is porous with larger specific surface area than LTF prepared by SS(LTF-SS).During the pyrolysis of BL,the addition of LTF lowers the pyrolysis temperature and the activation energy,the contents of CO2 and CO in gaseous products reduce by 4.6%-8.0% and 30.7%-34.3%,respectively,the total content of aryl oxygencontaining compounds(including phenolics,guaiacols,syringols and phenylates) in liquid products increases from 62 wt% to more than 72 wt%,and LTF-SG shows better catalytic performance.LTF samples have nice phase and catalytic stabilities for BL pyrolysis after five successive redox cycles. | Haiying Wang Hongjing Han Enhao Sun Yanan Zhang Jinxin Li Yanguang Chen Hua Song Hongzhi Zhao Yue Kang | 2020 | Journal of Rare Earths2020,38,1: | 5 |
