1Grey matter volume abnormalities in patients with bipolar I depressive disorder and unipolar depressive disorder:a voxelbased morphometry study显示文摘Bipolar disorder and unipolar depressive disorder(UD) may be different in brain structure. In the present study,we performed voxel-based morphometry(VBM) to quantify the grey matter volumes in 23 patients with bipolar I depressive disorder(BP1) and 23 patients with UD,and 23 age-,gender-,and educationmatched healthy controls(HCs) using magnetic resonance imaging. We found that compared with the HC and UD groups,the BP1 group showed reduced grey matter volumes in the right inferior frontal gyrus and middle cingulate gyrus,while the UD group showed reduced volume in the right inferior frontal gyrus compared to HCs. In addition,correlation analyses revealed that the grey matter volumes of these regions were negatively correlated with the Hamilton depression rating scores. 2Evaporation of liquid fuel droplet at supercritical conditions显示文摘A comprehensive analysis of liquid fuel droplet evaporation at supercritical conditions is performed.The numerical model is based on complete time-dependent conservation equations,with a full account of variable thermophysical properties and vapor-liquid interfacial thermodynamics.And the model employs the Peng-Robinson(PR)equation of state(EOS).As a specific example,problems involving n-heptane droplet in nitrogen gas are investigated.The results indicate that the increase of ambient pressure and temperature results in the increase of surface temperature rise rate and surface regression rate.The transition from subcritical state to supercritical state can occur at the droplet surface when the droplet evaporates in a strongly supercritical environment.HE Peng LI YunQing ZHAO LiFeng 2011Science China(Technological Sciences)2011,54,2:7
3The Genomes of the Allohexaploid Echinochloa crus-galli and Its Progenitors Provide Insights into Polyploidization-Driven Adaptation显示文摘The hexaploid species Echinochloa crus-galli is one of the most detrimental weeds in crop fields,especially in rice paddies.Its evolutionary history is similar to that of bread wheat,arising through polyploidization after hybridization between a tetraploid and a diploid species.In this study,we generated and analyzed high-quality genome sequences of diploid(E.haploclada),tetraploid(E.oryzicola),and hexaploid(E.crus-galli)Echinochloa species.Gene family analysis showed a significant loss of disease-resistance genes such as those encoding NB-ARC domain-containing proteins during Echinochloa polyploidization,contrary to their significant expansionduring wheat polyploidization,suggesting that natural selection might favor reduced investment in resistance in this weed to maximize its growth and reproduction.In contrast to the asymmetric patterns of genome evolution observed in wheat and other crops,no significant differences in selection pressure were detected between the subgenomes in E.oryzicola and E.crus-galli.In addition,distinctive differences in subgenome transcriptome dynamics during hexaploidization were observed between E.crus-galli and bread wheat.Collectively,our study documents genomic mechanisms underlying the adaptation of a major agricultural weed during polyploidization.The genomic and transcriptomic resources of three Echinochloa species and new insights into the polyploidization-driven adaptive evolution would be useful for future breeding cereal crops.Chu-Yu Ye Dongya Wu Lingfeng Mao Lei Jia Jie Qiu Sangting Lao Meihong Chen Bowen Jiang Wei Tang Qiong Peng Lang Pan Lifeng Wang Xiaoxiao Feng Longbiao Guo Chulong Zhang Elizabeth A.Kellogg Kenneth M.Olsen Lianyang Bai Longjiang Fan 2020Molecular Plant2020,13,9:4
4Multi-phase structure and electrical properties of Bi_(0.5)Li_(0.5)ZrO_3 doping K_(0.48)Na_(0.56)NbO_3 lead-free piezoelectric ceramics显示文摘(1–x)K_(0.48)Na_(0.56)NbO_3–xBi_(0.5)Li_(0.5)ZrO_3(KNN–x BLZ, x = 0–0.06) lead-free piezoelectric ceramics were prepared by the conventional solid-state sintering method, and their phase structures and electric properties as well as T_C were systematically investigated. The orthorhombic–tetragonal(O–T) two phases were detected in all(1–x)K_(0.48)Na_(0.56)NbO_3–xBi_(0.5)Li_(0.5)ZrO_3 ceramics at 0.01 ≤ x ≤ 0.05. Due to the appropriate ratio between O phase and T phase(CO/C T= 45/55), high piezoelectric properties of d 33= 239 pC/N, k_p= 34%, and P_r = 25.23 μC/cm^2 were obtained at x = 0.04. Moreover, a high T_C = 348 ℃ was also achieved in KNN–x BLZ ceramic at x = 0.04. 5Adaptive mixture observation models for multiple object tracking显示文摘Multiple object tracking (MOT) poses many difficulties to conventional well-studied single object track-ing (SOT) algorithms,such as severe expansion of configuration space,high complexity of motion con-ditions,and visual ambiguities among nearby targets,among which the visual ambiguity problem is the central challenge. In this paper,we address this problem by embedding adaptive mixture observation models (AMOM) into a mixture tracker which is implemented in Particle Filter framework. In AMOM,the extracted multiple features for appearance description are combined according to their discriminative power between ambiguity prone objects,where the discriminability of features are evaluated by online entropy-based feature selection techniques. The induction of AMOM can help to surmount the incapa-bility of conventional mixture tracker in handling object occlusions,and meanwhile retain its merits of flexibility and high efficiency. 6Characterization and mitigation option of greenhouse gas emissions from lactating Holstein dairy cows in East China显示文摘Background:This study investigated greenhouse gas(GHG)emission characteristics of lactating Holstein dairy cows in East China and provided a basis for formulating GHG emission reduction measures.GreenFeed system was used to measure the amount of methane(CH_(4))and carbon dioxide(CO_(2))emitted by the cows through respiration.Data from a commercial cow farm were used to observe the effects of parity,body weight,milk yield,and milk component yield on CH_(4) and CO_(2) emissions.Results:Mean herd responses throughout the study were as follows:111 cows completed all experimental processes,while 42 cows were rejected because they were sick or had not visited the GreenFeed system 20 times.On average,lactating days of cows was 138±19.04 d,metabolic weight was 136.5±9.5 kg,parity was 2.8±1.0,dry matter intake(DMI)was 23.1±2.6 kg/d,and milk yield was 38.1±6.9 kg/d.The GreenFeed system revealed that CH_(4) production(expressed in CO_(2) equivalent,CO_(2)-eq)was found to be 8304 g/d,CH_(4)_(CO_(2)−eq)/DMI was 359 g/kg,CH_(4)_(CO_(2)−eq)/energy-corrected milk(ECM)was 229.5 g/kg,total CO_(2) production(CH_(4) production plus CO_(2) production)was 19,201 g/d,total CO_(2)/DMI was 831 g/kg,and total CO_(2)/ECM was 531 g/kg.The parity and metabolic weight of cows had no significant effect on total CO_(2) emissions(P>0.05).Cows with high milk yield,milk fat yield,milk protein yield,and total milk solids yield produced more total CO_(2)(P<0.05),but their total CO_(2) production per kg of ECM was low(P<0.05).The total CO_(2)/ECM of the medium and high milk yield groups was 17%and 27%lower than that of the low milk yield group,respectively.Conclusions:The parity and body condition had no effect on total CO_(2) emissions,while the total CO_(2)/ECM was negatively correlated with milk yield,milk fat yield,milk protein yield,and total milk solids yield in lactating Holstein dairy cows.Measurement of total CO_(2) emissions of dairy cows in the Chinese production system will help establish regional or national GHG inventories and develop mitigation approaches to dairy production regimes.Peng Jia Yan Tu Zhihao Liu Qi Lai Fadi Li Lifeng Dong Qiyu Diao 2022Journal of Animal Science and Biotechnology2022,13,6:2

8Structural Basis of SARS-CoV-2 Polymerase Inhibition by Favipiravir显示文摘The outbreak of severe acute respiratory syndrome coronavirus 2(SARSCoV-2)has developed into an unprecedented global pandemic.Nucleoside analogs,such as Remdesivir and Favipiravir,can serve as the firstline broad-spectrum antiviral drugs by targeting the viral polymerases.However,the underlying mechanisms for the antiviral efficacies of these drugs are far from well understood.Here,we reveal that Favipiravir,as a pyrazine derivative,could be incorporated into the viral RNA products by mimicking both adenine and guanine nucleotides.This drug thus inhibits viral replication mainly by inducing mutations in progeny RNAs,different from Remdesivir or other RNA-terminating nucleoside analogs that impair the elongation of RNA products.We further determined the cryo-EM structure of Favipiravir bound to the replicating polymerase complex of SARSCoV-2 in the pre-catalytic state.This structure provides a missing snapshot for visualizing the catalysis dynamics of coronavirus polymerase,and reveals an unexpected base-pairing pattern between Favipiravir and pyrimidine residues that may explain its capacity for mimicking both adenine and guanine nucleotides.These findings shed light on the mechanism of coronavirus polymerase catalysis and provide a rational basis for developing antiviral drugs to combat the SARS-CoV-2 pandemic.Qi Peng Ruchao Peng Bin Yuan Min Wang Jingru Zhao Lifeng Fu Jianxun Qi Yi Shi 2021The Innovation2021,2,1:1

10Variability of the Kuroshio extension system in 1992-2013 from satellite altimetry data显示文摘The Kuroshio Extension(KE) plays an important role in climate and environmental change in the North Pacific. In this paper, more than 20 years of merged absolute dynamic topography and merged sea level anomaly products from satellite altimetry are used to analyze the stability of the KE system. By analyzing the annually averaged sea surface topography, the variations of inter-annual path and annually averaged eddy kinetic energy at the KE region, the KE's two dynamic states are given as: the relatively stable state during 1993e1995, 2002e2005, and 2010e2012, and the unstable dynamic state among 1996e2001 and2006e2009. During the stable state, the KE spindle had a shorter path length and smaller time-varying amplitude, as well as a trend to move northward. While during the unstable state, the KE spindle had a longer path length and an integral southward transport trend, and was observed to oscillate significantly over time. The analysis on the KE's upstream and downstream region gives the same variations, indicating that they are significantly affected by the El Nino events. The power spectrum of the mean latitudinal position variation of the KE's upstream and downstream shows significant quasi-decadal oscillation characteristics and strong annual signals. Furthermore, the correlation of the strength variation between the southern RG and the KE's upstream is calculated to be 0.50 after low-pass filtering,and that of the mean latitudinal position variation between the southern RG and the KE's upstream/downstream are 0.75/0.69 after low-pass filtering, respectively. 19Characteristics of Surface Water Quality Affected by Agricultural Non-point Sources in Guigang City显示文摘[Objectives]To analyze the influence characteristics of surface water quality by agricultural non-point sources in Guigang City of Guangxi.[Methods]The daily concentration series of water quality indicators at three state-controlled monitoring stations in Guigang City from^(2)019 to 2021 was analyzed by using Daubechies(db)wavelet,and Morlet wavelet was used to analyze the daily average concentration of water quality indicators.Continuous wavelet transform(CWT)was used to analyze the monthly concentration series of water quality indicators at three state-controlled monitoring stations in Guigang City from^(2)014 to 2021.[Results]The Daubechies(db)wavelet analysis showed that the concentrations of COD_(Mn),TP,and TN had the maximum values during June-July and October-November,and there were spatial differences among monitoring stations(COD_(Mn) concentration exceeding the standard was the most serious in Shizui,and DO concentration not up to standard was the most in Thermal Power Plant,and NH_(3)-N,TP and TN exceeding the standard was the most in Wulin Ferry).Morlet results showed that principal period of wavelet variance graphs of COD_(Mn),NH_(3)-N,and TP was 340 d,and there was the same sub-period of 140 d,and principal period of wavelet variance graph of DO was 260 d.CWT results showed that COD_(Cr) had similar resonance periods of about 1-2 and 5-7 months;BOD 5 and COD_(Mn) was dominant by the resonance period of 1-4 months(2014-2017);DO had a similar resonance period of about 1-3 months;NH_(3)-N was dominant by the resonance period of 1-5 months.[Conclusions]The surface water quality of Guigang City was mainly affected by the residual nitrogen and phosphorus nutrients and pesticide residues from agricultural production activities.Yixin XU Peng ZHOU Lei FENG Lifeng CHEN 2023Asian Agricultural Research2023,15,3:1
20Pressure-induced Lifshitz transition in the type Ⅱ Dirac semimetal PtTe_2显示文摘Numerous exotic properties have been discovered in Dirac Semimetals(DSMs) and Weyl Semimetals(WSMs). In a given DSM/WSM, the Dirac/Weyl nodes usually coexist with other bulk states, making their respective contribution elusive. In this work, we distinguish the role of bulk states from the tilted Dirac nodes on the transport properties in DSMs. Specifically, we applied pressure to a type-II DSM material, PtTe2, and studied its pressure modified electronic and lattice structure systematically by using in situ transport measurements and X-ray diffraction(XRD). A pressure-induced transition at about 20 GPa is revealed in the transport properties, while the layered lattice structure is robust against pressure as illustrated in XRD measurement results.Density functional theory(DFT) calculations suggest that this is originated from the Lifshitz transition in the bulk states.
