3Psychosocial and spiritual needs of patients with chronic diseases: validation of the Chinese version of the Spiritual Needs Questionnaire显示文摘OBJECTIVE: Even in secular societies, a small portion of patients find their spirituality to help cope with illness. But for the majority of patients, psychosocial and spiritual needs are neither addressed nor even considered a relevant factor by health care professionals. To measure such specific needs, the Spiritual Needs Questionnaire (SpNQ) was developed. The aim of this study was to validate the Chinese version of the SpNQ (SpNQ-Ch) and thus to measure psychosocial and spiritual needs of Chinese patients. METHODS: This was a cross-sectional study among 168 patients with chronic diseases who were recruited in the Changhai Hospital of Traditional Chinese Medicine, Shanghai, China using standardized questionnaires. We performed reliability and factor analyses, as well as analyses of variance, first order correlations and regression analyses. RESULTS: The 17-item SpNQ-Ch had a similar factorial structure as the original version with two main and three minor factors which accounted for 64% of variance, and internal consistency estimates (Cronbach's α) ranging from 0.51 to 0.81. Included were the 4-item scale Inner Peace Needs, the 5-item scale Giving/Generativity Needs, the 5-item scale Religious Needs (with 2 sub-constructs, Praying and Sources), and a 3-item scale Reflection/Release Needs. In Chinese patients with cancer (63%), pain affections (10%), or other chronic conditions (23%), the needs for Giving/Generativity (which refer to categories of Connectedness and Meaning) and Inner Peace Needs scored highest, while Religious Needs and the Reflection/Release Needs scored lower. CONCLUSION: The SpNQ-Ch is congruent with its primary version, and can be used in future studies with the mostly nonreligious patients from China. First findings indicate specific psychosocial and spiritual needs which should be addressed by health care professionals to support patients in their struggle with chronic illness in terms of psycho-emotional stabilization, finding hope and meaning, and thus achieving peaceful states of mind despite chronic illness.Arndt Büssing Xiao-feng Zhai Wen-bo Peng Chang-quan Ling 2013Journal of Integrative Medicine2013,11,2:13

6Effect of Temperature and Strain Rate on Dynamic Properties of Low Silicon TRIP Steel显示文摘The dynamic tensile test of 0·11C-0·62Si-1·65 Mn TRIP steel was carried out at different strain ratesand test temperatures . The results showthat both temperature and strain rate affect the retained austenite trans-formation . At high strain rates ,the uniformelongation decreases , whereas the total elongation and energy absorp-tionincrease . The tensile strengthis less strain rate sensitive . With raising test temperature ,the tensile strengthis reduced and the mechanical properties generally deteriorate ,especially at 110 ℃. 8Ribosome Biogenesis Factor Bmsl-like Is Essential for Liver Development in Zebrafish显示文摘Ribosome biogenesis in the nucleolus requires numerous nucleolar proteins and small non-coding RNAs.Among them is ribosome biogenesis factor Bmsl,which is highly conserved from yeast to human.In yeast,Bmsl initiates ribosome biogenesis through recruiting Rcll to pre-ribosomes.However,little is known about the biological function of Bmsl in vertebrates.Here we report that Bmsl plays an essential role in zebrafish liver development.We identified a zebrafish bms1l^(sq163) mutant which carries a T to A mutation in the gene bmsl-like(bms1l).This mutation results in L^(152) to Q^(152) substitution in a GTPase motif in Bmsll.Surprisingly,bmsll^(sq163) mutation confers hypoplasia specifically in the liver,exocrine pancreas and intestine after 3 days post-fertilization(dpf).Consistent with the bmsll^(sq163) mutant phenotypes,whole-mount in situ hybridization(WISH) on wild type embryos showed that bmsll transcripts are abundant in the entire digestive tract and its accessory organs.Immunostaining for phospho-Histone 3(P-H3) and TUNEL assay revealed that impairment of hepatoblast proliferation rather than cell apoptosis is one of the consequences of bms1l^(sq163) giving rise to an under-developed liver.Therefore,our findings demonstrate that Bmsll is necessary for zebrafish liver development.Yong Wanga,Yue Luoa,Yunhan Hong(b,),Jinrong Peng(a,),Lijan Lo(a,b,) a College of Animal Sciences,Zhejiang University,Hangzhou 310058,China b Department of Biological Sciences,National University of Singapore,Science Drive 4,Singapore 117543,Singapore 2012Journal of Genetics and Genomics2012,39,9:4

10Synthesis, Crystal Structure and Calculated β Value of a Tetrahedral Zinc (II) Complex——Zn(2-NH_2py)_2Br_2显示文摘A new zinc(II) complex, Zn(2-NH2py)2Br2 (py=pyridine), has been synthesized, and its molecular structure has been confirmed by IR, elemental analysis and -ray crystal structure analysis. Its space group is P21/n with Mr=413.43 (C10H12Br2N4Zn), a=7.435(2), b=12.865(3), c=14.186(4)? b=94.08(2)? V=1353.5(5) 3, Z=4, Dc=2.029 g/cm3, F(000)=328, ?2.378mm-1, R=0.0283, wR=0.0501. The total observed reflections with I≥2?I) were 5314, of which the independent reflections were 3106. The complex structure contains a distorted tetrahedron formed by four atoms coordinated to zinc atom, namely two bromide atoms and two nitrogen atoms. The two ZnBr bond lengths within one molecule, 2.3763(6) and 2.4002(5)? respectively, are not equal; and so are the two ZnN bond lengths, which are 2.031(2) and 2.044(2)?respectively. The calculation results using PM3 method through MOPAC software package in Chem 3D show that its first molecular hyperpolarizability b value is 5.210-30esu, which is comparable with that of p-nitroaniline. 11Low-intensity pulsed ultrasound for regenerating peripheral nerves:potential for penile nerve显示文摘Peripheral nerve damage,such as that found after surgery or trauma,is a substantial clinical challenge.Much research continues in attempts to improve outcomes after peripheral nerve damage and to promote nerve repair after injury.In recent years,low-intensity pulsed ultrasound(LIPUS)has been studied as a potential method of stimulating peripheral nerve regeneration.In this review,the physiology of peripheral nerve regeneration is reviewed,and the experiments employing LIPUS to improve peripheral nerve regeneration are discussed.Application of LIPUS following nerve surgery may promote nerve regeneration and improve functional outcomes through a variety of proposed mechanisms.These include an increase of neurotrophic factors,Schwann cell(SC)activation,cellular signaling activations,and induction of mitosis.We searched PubMed for articles related to these topics in both in vitro and in vivo animal research models.We found numerous studies,suggesting that LIPUS following nerve surgery promotes nerve regeneration and improves functional outcomes.Based on these findings,LIPUS could be a novel and valuable treatment for nerve injury-induced erectile dysfunction.Dong-Yi Peng Amanda B Reed-Maldonado Gui-Ting Lin Shu-Jie Xia Tom F Lue 2020Asian Journal of Andrology2020,22,4:3
