1Resveratrol inhibits matrix metalloproteinases to attenuate neuronal damage in cerebral ischemia:a molecular docking study exploring possible neuroprotection显示文摘The main pathophysiology of cerebral ischemia is the structural alteration in the neurovascular unit, coinciding with neurovascular matrix degradation. Resveratrol has been reported to be one of the most potent chemopreventive agents that can inhibit cellular processes associated with ischemic stroke. Matrix metalloproteinases(MMPs) has been considered as a potential drug target for the treatment of cerebral ischemia. To explore this, we tried to investigate the interaction of resveratrol with MMPs through molecular docking studies. At 30 minutes before and 2 hours after cerebral ischemia/reperfusion induced by occlusion of the middle cerebral artery, 40 mg/kg resveratrol was intraperitoneally administered. After resveratrol administration, neurological function and brain edema were significantly alleviated, cerebral infarct volume was significantly reduced, and nitrite and malondialdehyde levels in the cortical and striatal regions were significantly decreased. The molecular docking study of resveratrol and MMPs revealed that resveratrol occupied the active site of MMP-2 and MMP-9. The binding energy of the complexes was –37.848672 k J/mol and –36.6345 k J/mol for MMP-2 and MMP-9, respectively. In case of MMP-2, Leu 164, Ala 165 and Thr 227 were engaged in H-Bonding with resveratrol and in case of MMP-9, H-bonding was found with Glu 402, Ala 417 and Arg 424 residues. 2Effect of stacking sequence on physical, mechanical and tribological properties of glass-carbon hybrid composites显示文摘A study was done to determine the effect of best stacking sequence(position and orientation)on the mechanical properties,friction and wear response of hybrid composites.The main purpose of the study was to determine the best available stacking sequence for which the physical,mechanical and three body abrasive wear rate is optimum.Test for mechanical properties(tensile strength,flexural strength,inter laminar shear strength,impact strength and hardness)was done on glass-carbon hybrid composites.The composites were then subjected to test for three body abrasive wear on a designed experimental setup.Five different factors(sliding velocity,fabric weight percentage,normal load,sliding distance and abrasive particle size)varied in steps to evaluate the friction and three body abrasive wear response of the composites.The design of experiment using Taguchi’s orthogonal array and analysis of variance(ANOVA)was applied to find out minimum specific wear rate.The results revealed the significance in arrangement of two different layers of fabric(glass and carbon)and the difference in properties obtained by them.Using Taguchi experimental analysis it has been observed that three body abrasive wear rate is minimum at 72 cm/s sliding velocity,30 wt.%fabric content,80 N normal load,90 m sliding distance and 125μm abrasive particle size.The scanning electron microscope(SEM)studies revealed the dynamics of three‐body abrasive wear and underlying micro‐mechanisms that result in the analysis of three body abrasive wear.Gaurav AGARWAL Amar PATNAIK Rajesh kumar SHARMA Jyoti AGARWAL 2014Friction2014,2,4:4
3Piroxicam-mediated modulatory action of 5-hydroxytryptamine serves as a “brake” on neuronal excitability in ischemic stroke显示文摘Our previous studies indicated an increase in extracellular γ-aminobutyric acid(GABA) in rodent's ischemic brain after Piroxicam administration, leading to alleviation of glutamate mediated excitotoxicity through activation of type A GABA receptor(GABAA). This study was to investigate if GABAA activation by Piroxicam affects extracellular 5-hydroxytryptamine or not. High performance liquid chromatography revealed that there was a significant decrease in extracellular 5-hydroxytryptamine release in ischemic cerebral cortex and striatum in Piroxicam pre-treated rat brains. 4Intelligent and Adaptive Web Data Extraction System Using Convolutional and Long Short-Term Memory Deep Learning Networks显示文摘Data are crucial to the growth of e-commerce in today's world of highly demanding hyper-personalized consumer experiences,which are collected using advanced web scraping technologies.However,core data extraction engines fail because they cannot adapt to the dynamic changes in website content.This study investigates an intelligent and adaptive web data extraction system with convolutional and Long Short-Term Memory(LSTM)networks to enable automated web page detection using the You only look once(Yolo)algorithm and Tesseract LSTM to extract product details,which are detected as images from web pages.This state-of-the-art system does not need a core data extraction engine,and thus can adapt to dynamic changes in website layout.Experiments conducted on real-world retail cases demonstrate an image detection(precision)and character extraction accuracy(precision)of 97%and 99%,respectively.In addition,a mean average precision of 74%,with an input dataset of 45 objects or images,is obtained.Sudhir Kumar Patnaik C.Narendra Babu Mukul Bhave 2021Big Data Mining and Analytics2021,4,4:4

6Carbon nanotubes:Evaluation of toxicity at biointerfaces显示文摘Carbon nanotubes (CNTs) are a class of carbon allotropes with interesting properties that make them productive materials for usage in various disciplines of nanotechnology such as in electronics equipments, optics and therapeutics. They exhibit distinguished properties viz., strength, and high electrical and heat conductivity. Their uniqueness can be attributed due to the bonding pattern present between the atoms which are very strong and also exhibit high extreme aspect ratios. CNTs are classified as singlewalled carbon nanotubes (SWCNTs) and multi-walled carbon nanotubes (MWCNTs) on the basis of number of sidewalls present and the way they are arranged spatially. Application of CNTs to improve the performance of many products, especially in healthcare, has led to an occupational and public exposure to these nanomaterials. Hence, it becomes a major concern to analyze the issues pertaining to the toxicity of CNTs and find the best suitable ways to counter those challenges. 8A possible therapeutic potential of quercetin through inhibition of μ-calpain in hypoxia induced neuronal injury:a molecular dynamics simulation study显示文摘The neuroprotective property of quercetin is well reported against hypoxia and ischemia in past studies.This property of quercetin lies in its antioxidant property with blood-brain barrier permeability and anti-inflammatory capabilities.μ-Calpain,a calcium ion activated intracellular cysteine protease causes serious cellular insult,leading to cell death in various pathological conditions including hypoxia and ischemic stroke.Hence,it may be considered as a potential drug target for the treatment of hypoxia induced neuronal injury.As the inhibitory property of μ-calpain is yet to be explored in details,hence,in the present study,we investigated the interaction of quercetin with μ-calpain through a molecular dynamics simulation study as a tool through clarifying the molecular mechanism of such inhibition and determining the probable sites and modes of quercetin interaction with the μ-calpain catalytic domain.In addition,we also investigated the structure-activity relationship of quercetin with μ-calpain.Affinity binding of quercetin with μ-calpain had a value of –28.73 k J/mol and a Ki value of 35.87 μM that may be a probable reason to lead to altered functioning of μ-calpain.Hence,quercetin was found to be an inhibitor of μ-calpain which might have a possible therapeutic role in hypoxic injury.Anand Kumar Pandey Swet Chand Shukla Pallab Bhattacharya Ranjana Patnaik 2016Neural Regeneration Research2016,11,8:3
