| 1 | Presence of Porphyromonas gingivalis in gingival squamous cell carcinoma显示文摘Periodontal disease has been recently linked to a variety of systemic conditions such as diabetes, cardio-vascular disease, preterm delivery, and oral cancer. The most common bacteria associated with periodontal disease, Porphyromonas gingivalis (P. gingivalis) has not yet been studied in the malignant gingival tissues. The objective of this study was to investigate the presence of P. gingivalis in specimens from squamous cell carcinoma patients. We have performed immunohistochemical staining to investigate the presence of P. gingivalis and Streptococcus gordonii (S. gordonii), a non invasive oral bacteria, in paraffin embedded samples of gingival squamous cell carcinoma (n=10) and normal gingiva (n=5). Staining for P. gingivalis revealed the presence of the bacteria in normal gingival tissues and gingival carcinoma, with higher levels (more than 33%, P<0.05) detected in the carcinoma samples. The staining intensity was also significantly enhanced in the malignant tissue by 2 folds (P<0.023) compared to specimens stained for the non-invasive S. gordonii. P. gingivalis is abundantly present in malignant oral epithelium suggesting a potential association of the bacteria with gingival squamous cell carcinoma. | Joseph Katz Mairelys D. Onate Kaleb M. | 2 | A novel anti-slip control approach for railway vehicles with traction based on adhesion estimation with swarm intelligence显示文摘Anti-slip control systems are essential for railway vehicle systems with traction.In order to propose an effective anti-slip control system,adhesion information between wheel and rail can be useful.However,direct measurement or observation of adhesion condition for a railway vehicle in operation is quite demanding.Therefore,a proportional–integral controller,which operates simultaneously with a recently proposed swarm intelligencebased adhesion estimation algorithm,is proposed in this study.This approach provides determination of the adhesion optimum on the adhesion-slip curve so that a reference slip value for the controller can be determined according to the adhesion conditions between wheel and rail.To validate the methodology,a tram wheel test stand with an independently rotating wheel,which is a model of some low floor trams produced in Czechia,is considered.Results reveal that this new approach is more effective than a conventional controller without adhesion condition estimation. | Abdulkadir Zirek Altan Onat | 2020 | Railway Engineering Science2020，28，4： | 5 |
| 3 | High adiponectin levels fail to protect against the risk of hypertension and,in women,against coronary disease:involvement in autoimmunity?显示文摘AIM:To investigate whether serum adiponectin protects against cardiometabolic risk in a population sample with prevailing metabolic syndrome.METHODS:Middle-aged adults representative of a general population with baseline circulating adiponectin measurements(n=1224)were analyzed prospectively at a mean of 3.8 years’follow-up,using continuous values or sex-specific tertiles.Total adiponectin was assayed by an ELISA kit.Type-2 diabetes was identified by criteria of the American Diabetes Association.Hypertension was defined as a blood pressure≥140 mmHg and/or≥90 mmHg and/or use of antihypertensive medication.Outcomes were predicted using Cox proportional hazards regression analysis in models that were controlled for potential confounders.RESULTS:In models of multiple linear regression,sex hormone-binding globulin,fasting insulin(inverse)and,in men,age were significant independent covariates of serum adiponectin which further tended in women to be positively associated with serum creatinine.Cox regression analyses for incident coronary heart disease(CHD),adjusted for sex,age,non-HDL cholesterol,waist circumference and C-reactive protein,revealed significant inverse association with adiponectin tertiles in men but not women(HR=0.66;95%CI:0.32-1.38 for highest tertile).Cox regression for type-2 diabetes in a similar model(wherein glucose replaced non-HDL cholesterol),adiponectin tertiles appeared to protect in each gender.HR for incident hypertension roughly displayed unity in each of the adiponectin tertiles(P-trend=0.67).CONCLUSION:High adiponectin levels failed to protect against the development of hypertension and,in women,against CHD,presumably paralleling impairment in renal function as well.Involvement of adiponectin in autoimmune complex with loss of antioxidative-antiatherogenic properties may be underlying. | Altan Onat Mesut Aydln Günay Can Bayram Kroglu Ahmet Karagz Servet Altay | 2013 | World Journal of Diabetes2013，4，5： | 3 |
| 4 | Equivariant analytical mapping of first principles Hamiltonians to accurate and transferable materials models显示文摘We propose a scheme to construct predictive models for Hamiltonian matrices in atomic orbital representation from ab initio data as a function of atomic and bond environments.The scheme goes beyond conventional tight binding descriptions as it represents the ab initio model to full order,rather than in two-centre or three-centre approximations.We achieve this by introducing an extension to the atomic cluster expansion(ACE)descriptor that represents Hamiltonian matrix blocks that transform equivariantly with respect to the full rotation group.The approach produces analytical linear models for the Hamiltonian and overlap matrices.Through an application to aluminium,we demonstrate that it is possible to train models from a handful of structures computed with density functional theory,and apply them to produce accurate predictions for the electronic structure.The model generalises well and is able to predict defects accurately from only bulk training data. | Liwei Zhang Berk Onat Geneviève Dusson Adam McSloy G.Anand Reinhard J.Maurer Christoph Ortner James R.Kermode | 2022 | npj Computational Materials2022，，1： | 2 |

| 8 | 原发性房角关闭眼激光虹膜切除术后UBM测量参数比较(英文)显示文摘目的:比较激光虹膜切开术前后原发性房角关闭(primary angle closure,PAC)眼超声生物显微镜(ultrasound biomicroscopy,UBM)参数。方法:对46例74眼PAC患者进行了一项前瞻性临床试验。平均年龄58,04±11.33(24.0-82.0)岁。所有病例行完整的眼科检查,前房角镜A超生物测量和超声生物显微镜检查(Vu-max,SonomedInc.,NY,USA)及24-2标准无色差视野检查(SAP,Humphrey Visual Field Analyzer-II i,Carl Zeiss Meditec Inc.,Dublin,CA,USA)。使用配对t检验评估基准和随访的平均值之间的变化。结果:激光周边虹膜切除术(laser peripheral iridotomy,LPI)术后,平均房角从8.02±4.61(0.10-19.60)度增加到17.66±6.39(0.10-32.70)度(P=0.000),房角开放距离500(angle opening distance 500,AOD500)从0.11±0.06(0.01-0.30)mm增加到0.23±0.07(0.13-0.50)mm(P=0.000),平均虹膜厚度(iris thickness,IT)从0.58±0.11(0.33-0.99)mm下降到0.52±0.10(0.25-0.77)mm(P=0.000)。小梁睫状突距离,虹膜睫状突距离和睫状体厚度均未发现显著统计学差异。结论:LPI术后PAC的白种人眼睛的AOD500,虹膜晶体距离和前房角增加,IT和虹膜晶体高度减少。这说明LPI解除了瞳孔阻滞,加深了前房,扩大了房角,减少了虹膜前凸和增厚。 | Bora Yüksel Tümay (O)rsel Memed Acar Sevgi Onat | 2012 | 国际眼科杂志2012，12，1： | 2 |
