| 1 | Quasi-real-time simulation of rotating drum using discrete element method with parallel GPU computing显示文摘Real-time simulation of industrial equipment is a huge challenge nowadays. The high performance and fine-grained parallel computing provided by graphics processing units (GPUs) bring us closer to our goals. In this article, an industrial-scale rotating drum is simulated using simplified discrete element method (DEM) without consideration of the tangential components of contact force and particle rotation. A single GPU is used first to simulate a small model system with about 8000 particles in realtime, and the simulation is then scaled up to industrial scale using more than 200 GPUs in a 1D domain-decomposition parallelization mode. The overall speed is about 1/11 of the real-time. | 7 | Improving the electrical performance of resistive switching memory using doping technology显示文摘In this paper, improvements of resistive random access memory (RRAM) using doping technology are summarized and analyzed. Based on a Cu/ZrO2/Pt device, three doping technologies with Ti ions, Cu, and Cu nanocrystal, respectively, are adopted in the experiments. Compared to an undoped device, improvements focus on four points: eliminating the electroforming process, reducing operation voltage, improving electrical uniformity, and increasing device yield. In addition, thermal stability of the high resistance state and better retention are also achieved by the doping technology. Methods Three kinds of tissue extract or cell lysate [infarcted myocardial tissue extract (IMTE), normal myocardial tissue extract (NMTE) and cultured neonatal myocardial lysate (NML)] were employed to induce BMSCs into cardiomyocyte-like cells. The cells were harvested at each time point for reverse transcription-polymerase chain reaction (RT-PCR) detection, immunocytochemical analysis, and transmission electron microscopy. Results After a 7-day induction, BMSCs were enlarged and polygonal in morphology. Myofilaments, striated sarcomeres, Z-lines, and more mitochondia were observed under transmission electron microscope. Elevated expression levels of cardiac-specific genes and proteins were also confirmed by RT-PCR and immunocytochemistry. Moreover, IMTE showed a greater capacity of differentiating BMSCs into cardiomyocyte-like cells.
