| 4 | Biodegradation of pendimethalin by Bacillus subtilis Y3显示文摘A bacterium strain Y3,capable of efficiently degrading pendimethalin,was isolated from activated sludge and identified as Bacillus subtilis according to its phenotypic features and 16 S rRNA phylogenetic analysis.This strain could grow on pendimethalin as a sole carbon source and degrade 99.5%of 100 mg/L pendimethalin within 2.5 days in batch liquid culture,demonstrating a greater efficiency than any other reported strains.Three metabolic products,6-aminopendimethalin,5-amino-2-methyl-3-nitroso-4-(pentan-3-ylamino) benzoic acid,and 8-amino-2-ethyl-5-(hydroxymethyl)-1,2-dihydroquinoxaline-6-carboxylic acid,were identified by HPLC-MS/MS,and a new microbial degradation pathway was proposed.A nitroreductase catalyzing nitroreduction of pendimethalin to 6-aminopendimethalin was detected in the cell lysate of strain Y3.The cofactor was nicotinamide adenine dinucleotide phosphate(NADPH) or more preferably nicotinamide adenine dinucleotide(NADH).The optimal temperature and pH for the nitroreductase were 30℃ and 7.5,respectively.Hg^(2+),Ni^(2+),Pb^(2+),Co^(2+),Mn^(2+) Cu^(2+),Ag^+,and EDTA severely inhibited the nitroreductase activity,whereas Fe^(2+),Mg^(2+),and Ca^(2+) enhanced it.This study provides an efficient pendimethalin-degrading microorganism and broadens the knowledge of the microbial degradation pathway of pendimethalin. | Haiyan Ni Li Yao Na Li Qin Cao Chen Dai Jun Zhang Qin He Jian He | 2016 | Journal of Environmental Sciences2016,28,3: | 7 |

| 6 | Stress field modeling of northwestern South China Sea since 5.3 Ma and its tectonic significance显示文摘Tectonically,the northwestern South China Sea(SCS)is located at the junction between three micro-plates,i.e.,the Indochina,South China and Zhongsha-Xisha micro-plates,and involves three basins,i.e.,the Yinggehai Basin,the Qiongdongnan Basin and Xisha Trough in the east,and the Zhongjiannan Basin in the south.Since the Pliocene(5.3 Ma),the Yinggehai Basin has experienced repeated accelerating subsidence,high thermal fluid,and widely developing mud-rich overpressure chambers,abundant mud diapers and crust-mantle mixed CO2.While a large central canyon was developed in the Qiongdongnan Basin,new rift occurred in the Xisha Trough.These characteristics demonstrate a single tectonic unit for the northwestern SCS,for which we have undertaken stress field modeling to understand its plate deformations and sedimentary responses.Our results demonstrate that an extension tectonic event occurred after 5.3 Ma in the Yinggehai-Qiongdongnan-Xisha trough area,which is characterized by thinner crust(<16 000 m),half-graben or graben structural style and thicker sedimentary sequences(>3 500 m).A new rift system subsequently was developed in this area;this event was mainly driven by the combined effects of different movement velocity and direction of the three micro-plates,and the far-field effect of the continental collision between the Indian Plate and the Tibetan Plateau,and subduction of the Pacific Plate underneath the Eurasian Plate. | YANG Fengli ZHOU Zuyi ZHANG Na LIU Ning NI Bin | 2013 | Acta Oceanologica Sinica2013,32,12: | 5 |
| 7 | β-Arrestin 2 mediates arginine vasopressin-induced IL-6 induction via the ERK1/2-NF-κB signal pathway in murine hearts显示文摘Evidence to date suggests thatβ-arrestins act beyond their role as adapter proteins.Arginine vasopressin(AVP)may be a factor in inflammation and fibrosis in the pathogenesis of heart failure.In the present study we investigated the effect of AVP on inflammatory cytokine IL-6 production in murine hearts and the impact ofβ-arrestin 2-dependent signaling on AVP-induced IL-6 production.We found that administration of AVP(0.5 U/kg,iv)markedly increased the levels of IL-6 mRNA in rat hearts with the maximum level occurred at 6 h.Inβ-arrestin 2 KO mouse hearts,deletion ofβ-arrestin 2 decreased AVP-induced IL-6 mRNA expression.We then performed in vitro experiments in adult rat cardiac fibroblasts(ARCFs).We found that AVP(10?9–10?6 M)dose-dependently increased the expression of IL-6 mRNA and protein,activation of NF-κB signaling and ERK1/2 phosphorylation,whereas knockdown ofβ-arrestin 2 blocked AVP-induced IL-6 increase,NF-κB activation and ERK1/2 phosphorylation.Pharmacological blockade of ERK1/2 using PD98059 diminished AVP-induced NF-κB activation and IL-6 production.The selective V1A receptor antagonist SR49059 effectively blocked AVP-induced NF-κB phosphorylation and activation as well as IL-6 expression in ARCFs.In AVP-treated mice,pre-injection of SR49059(2 mg/kg,iv)abolished AVP-induced NF-κB activation and IL-6 production in hearts.The above results suggest that AVP induces IL-6 induction in murine hearts via the V1A receptor-mediatedβ-arrestin2/ERK1/2/NF-κB pathway,thus reveal a novel mechanism of myocardial inflammation in heart failure involving the V1A/β-arrestin 2/ERK1/2/NF-κB signaling pathway. | Shu-zhen Sun Hong Cao Na Yao Ling-ling Zhao Xiao-fang Zhu Er-an Ni Qi Zhu Wei-zhong Zhu | 2020 | Acta Pharmacologica Sinica2020,41,2: | 5 |
| 8 | The mechanical property and corrosion resistance of Mg-Zn-Nd alloy fine wires in vitro and in vivo显示文摘Titanium and its alloy are commonly used as surgical staples in the reconstruction of intestinal tract and stomach,however they cannot be absorbed in human body,which may cause a series of complications to influence further diagnosis.Magnesium and its alloy have great potential as surgical staples,because they can be degraded in human body and have good mechanical properties and biocompatibility.In this study,Mg-2Zn-0.5Nd(ZN20)alloy fine wires showed great potential as surgical staples.The ultimate tensile strength and elongation of ZN20 alloy fine wires were 248 MPa and 13%,respectively,which could be benefit for the deformation of the surgical staples from U-shape to B-shape.The bursting pressure of the wire was about 40 kPa,implying that it can supply sufficient mechanical support after anastomosis.Biochemical test and histological analysis illustrated good biocompatibility and biological safety of ZN20 alloy fine wire.The residual tensile stress formed on the outside of ZN20 fine wire during drawing would accelerate the corrosion.The second phase had a negative influence on corrosion property due to galvanic corrosion.The corrosion rate in vitro was faster than that in vivo due to the capsule formed on the surface of ZN20 alloy fine wire. | Ming Gao Di Na Xiangqiao Ni Lihui Song Iniobong PEtim Ke Yang Lili Tan Zheng Ma | 2021 | Bioactive Materials2021,6,1: | 4 |

| 10 | Enabling highly efficient and broadband electromagnetic wave absorption by tuning impedance match in high-entropy transition metal diborides (HETMB_(2))显示文摘The advance in communication technology has triggered worldwide concern on electromagnetic wave pollution.To cope with this challenge,exploring high-performance electromagnetic(EM)wave absorbing materials with dielectric and magnetic losses coupling is urgently required.Of the EM wave absorbers,transition metal diborides(TMB2)possess excellent dielectric loss capability.However,akin to other single dielectric materials,poor impedance match leads to inferior performance.High-entropy engineering is expected to be effective in tailoring the balance between dielectric and magnetic losses through compositional design.Herein,three HE TMB2 powders with nominal equimolar TM including HE TMB2-I(TM=Zr,Hf,Nb,Ta),HE TMB2-2(TM=Ti,Zr,Hf,Nb,Ta),and HE TMB2-3(TM=Cr,Zr,Hf,Nb,Ta)have been designed and prepared by one-step boro/carbothermal reduction.As a result of synergistic effects of strong attenuation capability and impedance match,HE TMB2-1 shows much improved performance with the optimal minimum reflection loss(RL_(min))of-59.6 dB(8.48 GHz,2.68 mm)and effective absorption bandwidth(EAB)of 7.6 GHz(2.3 mm).Most impressively,incorporating Cr in HE TMB2-3 greatly improves the impedance match over 1-18 GHz,thus achieving the RLmin of-56.2 dB(8.48 GHz,2.63 mm)and the EAB of 11.0 GHz(2.2 mm),which is superior to most other EM wave absorbing materials.This work reveals that constructing high-entropy compounds,especially by incorporating magnetic elements,is effectual in tailoring the impedance match for highly conductive compounds,i.e.,tuning electrical conductivity and boosting magnetic loss to realize highly efficient and broadband EM wave absorption with dielectric and magnetic coupling in single-phase materials. | Weiming ZHANG Fu-Zhi DAI Huimin XIANG Biao ZHAO Xiaohui WANG Na NI Rajamallu KARRE Shijiang WU Yanchun ZHOU | 2021 | Journal of Advanced Ceramics2021,10,6: | 4 |

| 12 | Genetic Characteristics of 2009 Pandemic H1N1 Influenza A Viruses Isolated from China's Mainland显示文摘A total of 100 H1N1 flu real-time-PCR positive throat swabs collected from fever patients in Zhejiang, Hubei and Guangdong between June and November 2009, were provided by local CDC laboratories. After MDCK cell culture, 57 Influenza A Pandemic (H1N1) viruses were isolated and submitted for whole genome sequencing. A total of 39 HA sequences, 52 NA sequences, 36 PB2 sequences, 31 PB1 sequences, 40 PA sequences, 48 NP sequences, 51 MP sequences and 36 NS sequences were obtained, including 20 whole genome sequences. Sequence comparison revealed they shared a high degree of homology (96%~99%) with known epidemic strains (A/California/04/2009(H1N1). Phylogenetic analysis showed that although the sequences were highly conserved, they clustered into a small number of groups with only a few distinct strains. Site analysis revealed three substitutions at loop 220 (221-228) of the HA receptor binding site in the 39 HA sequences: A/Hubei/86/2009 PKVRDQEG→PKVRDQEA, A/Zhejiang/08/2009 PKVRDQEG→PKVRDQER, A/Hubei/75/2009 PKVRDQEG→PKVRDQGG, the A/Hubei/75/2009 was isolated from an acute case, while the other two were from patients with mild symptoms. Other key sites such as 119, 274, 292 and 294 amino acids of NA protein,627 of PB2 protein were conserved. Meanwhile, all the M2 protein sequences possessed the Ser32Asn mutation, suggesting that these viruses were resistant to adamantanes. | 17 | Differential Gene Expression in Response to Drought Stress in Maize Seedling显示文摘To provide the useful information for the choice of molecular marker used in marker-assisted selection of drought tolerance, it is necessary to find out more candidate genes and fulfill the information gaps in gene expression regulation under drought stress. In this study, we isolated four differentially expressed cDNA fragments from leaves of a droughttolerant inbred line by suppression subtractive hybridization and reverse Northern hybridization, and validated their differential expression patterns among six inbred lines with different drought tolerance in response to drought stress by quantitative real-time PCR. Sequence similarity analysis indicated that two of four differentially expressed cDNA showed homology to gene DegP encoding trypsin-like serine protease, and gene PGAM-i encoding cofactor-independent phosphoglyceromutase, respectively. Expressions of the genes corresponding to four cDNA fragments was decreased at 6 h after drought stress treatment in most of the six inbred lines, and then returned to the control level with further stress in three of the tolerant inbred lines. The expression of the gene PGAM-i and the genes corresponding to fragments E4 and F4 were increased to a high level in tolerant inbred line 81565. In the two drought-sensitive inbred lines (Dan340 and ES40), the expression of these genes was still down-regulated. The probable mechanisms of these genes in response to drought stress were discussed. | 18 | A QoE-based cell range expansion scheme in heterogeneous cellular networks显示文摘Deploying low-power nodes(LPNs) overlaid with Macro cells is a promising strategy to improve the coverage and capacity of cellular systems. Meanwhile, cell range expansion(CRE) scheme is proposed to select a proper serving base station(BS) for users between Macro e Node Bs and LPNs, and then offloading of traffic from Macro cell is made. In this paper, first, we introduce the LPNs deployment strategy and its activation criteria in the heterogeneous system. Then, a quality of experience(Qo E)-based CRE scheme to adjust the coverage area of LPNs adaptively is proposed. Different from the existing CRE schemes, the Qo E values for different users with different services are considered when the users try to select an appropriate serving BS. | 20 | Multiplexed imaging detection of live cell intracellular changes in early apoptosis with aggregation-induced emission fluorogens显示文摘Apoptosis is an important process for maintaining tissue homeostasis and eliminating abnormal cells in multicellular organisms.Abnormality in apoptosis often leads to severe diseases such as cancers. Better understanding of its mechanisms and processes is therefore important. Accompanying molecular biology events of apoptosis is a series of cellular morphology changes: nucleus condensation, cell shrinkage and rounding, cell surface blebbing, dynamic blebbing, apoptotic membrane protrusions and nucleus fragmentations and finally, the formation and release of apoptotic bodies. It is difficult to detect cellular changes in the early phase of apoptosis due to the subtle changes at this phase. In the current study, we induced apoptosis in He La cells with H2 O2 and used nuclear dye Hoechst 33258, mitochondria, lysosome and cytoplasmic protein specific aggregation-induced emission fluorogens(AIEgens), TPE-Ph-In, 2 M-DABS and BSPOTPE to successfully perform live cell multiplexed imaging to investigate early apoptosis cellular events. We showed the gradual dissipation of mitochondria membrane potential until it is nondetectable by TPE-Ph-In.
