The role of chemosensory protein 10 in the detection of behaviorally active compounds in brown planthopper, Nilaparvata lugens显示文摘Chemosensory proteins(CSPs)play important roles in insects’chemoreception, although their specific functional roles have not been fully elucidated. In this study,we conducted the developmental expression patterns and competitive binding assay as well as knock‐down assay by RNA interference both in vitro and in vivo to reveal the function of NlugCSP10 from the brown planthopper(BPH),Nilaparvata lugens(Stål),a major pest in rice plants. The results showed that NlugCSP10 messenger RNA was significantly higher in males than in females and correlated to gender, development and wing forms. The fluorescence binding assays revealed that NlugCSP10 exhibited the highest binding affinity with cis‐3‐hexenyl acetate, eicosane, and(+)‐β‐pinene.Behavioral assay revealed that eicosane displayed attractant activity, while cis‐3‐hexenyl acetate, similar to(+)‐β‐pinene significantly repelled N.lugens adults.Silencing of NlugCSP10,which is responsible for cis‐3‐hexenyl acetate binding, significantly disrupted cis‐3‐hexenyl acetate communication.Overall, findings of the present study showed that NlugCSP10 could selectively interrelate with numerous volatiles emitted from host plants and these ligands could be designated to develop slow‐release mediators that attract/repel N.lugens and subsequently improve the exploration of plans to control this insect pest.Muhammad Irfan Waris Aneela Younas Muhammad Muzammal Adeel Shuang-Gang Duan Sundas Rana Quershi Rana Muhammad Kaleem Ullah Man-Qun Wang 2020Insect Science2020,27,3:9
Luminous composite ultrathin films of CdTe quantum dots/silk fibroin co-assembled with layered doubled hydroxide:Enhanced photoluminescence and biosensor application显示文摘Quantum dots(QDs)luminescent films are extensively applied to optoelectronics and optical devices. However,QDs aggregation results in the quenching of their fluorescence property which limits their practical applications to a greater extent. In order to resolve this issue,3-mercaptopropionic acid(3-MPA)functionalized Cadmium Tellurium(CdTe)QDs were stabilized by silk fibroin(SB)and coassembled with layered doubled hydroxide(LDH)to form(QDs@SF/LDH)_(n)ultrathin films(UTFs)via the layer-by-layer(LBL)technique.UV-Vis absorption and fluorescence spectroscopy showed a stepwise and normal growth of the films upon increasing the number of deposition cycles.XRD and AFM studies confirmed the formation of a periodic layered structure and regular surface morphology of the thin films. As compared to(CdTe QDs/LDH)_(n)UTFs,the(CdTe QDs@SF/LDH)_(n)UTFs displayed fluorescence enhancement and longer fluorescent lifetime, both in solid states and aqueous solutions.Furthermore compared with the solution state, the fluorescence enhancement of SF-RC and SF-β are,respectively,7 times and 17 times in the(CdTe QDs@SF/LDH)_(n)UTFs,indicating that the LDH nanosheets favor the fluorescence enhancement effect on the CdTe QDs@SF.The fabricated materials displayed fluorescence response to a biological molecule such as immune globulin,lgG.Thus, the(CdTe QDs@SF/LDH)_(n)UTFs has a potential to be used as biosensor.Muhammad Sohail Haroone Ling Li Aftab Ahmad Yaping Huang Ruili Ma Ping Zhang Yuehua Hu Qari Muhammad Kaleem Jun Lu 2018Journal of Materiomics2018,4,2:3

Influence of rainfall infiltration on the stability of unsaturated coal gangue accumulated slope显示文摘The slope instability is associated with increasing rate of rainfall infiltration which cause shear strength reduction and suction loss and the slope tend to failure. The influences of rainfall infiltration on the stability of clayey and sandy slopes have been analyzed but the effect of rainfall infiltration on the stability of unsaturated coal gangue accumulated slope was needed to study. Therefore, a coal gangue accumulated slope prone to failure in Fuxin area of Northeast China was considered to evaluate its failure mechanism under different rainfall events. The effects after five different rainfall events on slope stability were physically analyzed, numerically investigated and the results from both uncoupled(hydraulic) and coupled(hydromechanical) responses were compared using finite element analysis. It was observed that the decisive soaking and leaching under different rainfall conditions caused maximum deformation at the crest of slope due to maximum value of permeability coefficient of coal gangue. The critical duration of moderate intensity(147 mm/day) of rainfall for the instability of coal gangue accumulated slope is declared as five days. The results from finite element analysis in this paper further clarifies that increase in duration of rainfall infiltration process cause hysteretic change in positive pore-water pressure causing decrease in factor of safety and increase in deformation. It is concluded that the stability of unsaturated coal gangue accumulated slope is greatly influence by the coupled effect of stress and porewater pressure in comparison of uncoupled(hydraulic) analysis as the obtained factor of safety values after five days of rainfall infiltration were 0.9 and 1.1 respectively.Kaleem Ullah Jan KHAN WANG Chang-ming Muhammad Wasim Jan KHAN LIANG Zhu LI Shuo LI Bai-long 2021Journal of Mountain Science2021,18,6:2
In vivo screening of essential oils of Skimmia laureola leaves for antinociceptive and antipyretic activity显示文摘Objective:To study the screening of essential oils of Skimmia laureola leaves(SLO)for acute toxicity, antinociceptive, antipyretic and anticonvulsant activities in various animal models. Methods:SLO were extracted using modified Clevenger type apparatus.Acute toxicity test was used in mice to observe its safety level.Antinociceptive activity of SLO was evaluated in acetic acid induced writhing and hot plate tests.Yeast induced hyperthermic mice and pentylenetetrazole induced convulsive mice were used for the assessment of its antipyretic and anticonvulsant profile respectively. Results:Substantial safety was observed for SLO in acute toxicity test.SLO showed a high significant activity in acetic acid induced writhing test in a dose dependent manner with maximum pain attenuation of 68.48%at 200 mg/kg i.p.However,it did not produce any relief in thermal induced pain at test doses. When challenged against pyrexia evoked by yeast,SLO manifested marked amelioration in hyperthermic mice, dose dependently.Maximum anti-hyperthermic activity(75%)was observed at 200 mg/kg i.p.after 4 h of drug administration.Nevertheless,SLO had no effect on seizures control and mortality caused by pentylenetetrazole. Conclusions:In vivo studies of SLO showed prominent antinociceptive and antipyretic activities with ample safety profile and thus provided pharmacological base for the traditional uses of the plant in various painful conditions and pyrexia.Additional detail studies are required to ascertain its clinical application.Naveed Muhammad Barkatullah Muhammad Ibrar Haroon Khan Muhammad Saeed Amir Zada Khan Waqar Ahmad Kaleem 2013Asian Pacific Journal of Tropical Biomedicine2013,3,3:2

Genome-wide identification and spatiotemporal expression profiling of zinc finger SWIM domain-containing protein family genes显示文摘The biological function of the novel zinc-finger SWIM domain-containing protein family(ZSWIM)during embryonic development remains elusive. Here,we conducted a genome-wide analysis to explore the evolutionary processes of the ZSWIM gene family members in mice,Xenopus tropicalis, zebrafish, and humans. We identified nine putative ZSWIM genes in the human and mouse genome, eight in the Xenopus genome, and five in the zebrafish genome.Based on multiple sequence alignment, three members,ZSWIM5,ZSWIM6,and ZSWIM8,demonstrated the highest homology across all four species.Using available RNA sequencing(RNAseq)data,ZSWIM genes were found to be widely expressed across different tissues, with distinct tissuespecific properties. To identify the functions of the ZSWIM protein family during embryogenesis,we examined temporal and spatial expression patterns of zswim family genes in Xenopus embryos.Quantitative real-time polymerase chain reaction(qRT-PCR)revealed that each member had a distinct expression profile.Whole-mount in situ hybridization showed that both zswim1 and zswim3 were maternally expressed genes;zswim5 and zswim6were expressed throughout embryogenesis and displayed dynamic expression in the brain, eyes, somite, and bronchial arch at the late tailbud stages;zswim7 was detected in the eye area;zswim8 showed a dynamic expression pattern during the tailbud stages, with expression detected in the brain, eyes, and somite;zswim9 was faintly expressed throughout embryonic development. This study provides a foundation for future research to delineate the functions of ZSWIM gene members.Imtiaz Ul Hassan Hafiz Mamoon Rehman Ziran Liu Liangji Zhou Muhammad Kaleem Samma Chengdong Wang Zixin Rong Xufeng Qi Dongqing Cai Hui Zhao 2023Zoological Research2023,44,3:0
A New Strategy for Dynamic Channel Allocation in CR-WMN Based on RCA显示文摘Channel assignment has emerged as an essential study subject in Cognitive Radio-basedWireless Mesh Networks(CR-WMN).In an era of alarming increase in Multi-Radio Multi-Channel(MRMC)network expansion interference is decreased and network throughput is significantly increased when non-overlapping or partially overlapping channels are correctly integrated.Because of its ad hoc behavior, dynamic channel assignment outperforms static channel assignment.Interference reduces network throughput in the CR-WMN.As a result, there is an extensive research gap for an algorithm that dynamically distributes channels while accounting for all types of interference. This work presents a method for dynamic channel allocations using unsupervisedMachine Learning(ML)that considers both coordinated and uncoordinated interference.Unsupervised machine learning uses coordinated and non-coordinated interference for dynamic channel allocation. To determine the applicability of the proposed strategy in reducing channel interference while increasingWMNthroughput,a comparison analysis was performed. When the simulation results of our proposed algorithm are compared to those of the Routing Channel Assignment(RCA)algorithm, the throughput of our proposed algorithm has increased by 34%compared to both coordinated and non-coordinated interferences.Kaleem Arshid Jianbiao Zhang Muhammad Yaqub Mohammad Daud Awan Habiba Ijaz Imran Shabir Chuhan 2023Computers, Materials & Continua2023,76,9:0
Molecular and in vitro biochemical assessment of chemosensory protein 10 from brown planthopper Nilaparvata lugens at acidic pH显示文摘Chemosensory proteins(CSPs)are important molecular components of the insect olfactory system, which are involved in capturing, binding, and transporting hydrophobic odour molecules across the sensillum in sensillar lymph in regulating insect behavior. This protein family(CSPs)is also involved in many other systems that are not linked to olfactory receptors in olfactory sensilla. The brown planthopper(BPH)is a monophagous pest of rice that causes damage by sucking phloem sap and transmitting a number of diseases caused by viruses. In this study, fluorescence competitive binding assay and fluorescence quenching assay at acidic p H were performed as well as homology modelling to describe the binding affinity of Nlug CSP10.Fluorescence competitive binding assay(FCBA)demonstrated that Nlug CSP10 bound strongly to nonadecane, farnesene, and 2-tridecanone at acidic p H.The results of FCBA indicated that Nlug CSP10 bound different ligands at the physiological p H(5.0)of the bulk sensillum lymph.Fluorescence quenching assay demonstrated that Nlug CSP10 generated a stable complex with 2-tridecanone,while two ligands nonadecane and farnesene collided due to molecular collisions. The interaction of selected ligands with the modelled structure of Nlug CSP10 was also analyzed, which found the key amino acids(Gln23,Gln24,Gln25,Asn27,Met33,Ser34,Ile35,Tyr36,Asn42,Met43,Val45,Asn46,Asn93,Arg96,Ala97,Lys99,and Ala100)in Nlug CSP10 that were involved in binding of volatile compounds. The present study contributes to the binding profile of Nlug CSP10 that promotes the development of behaviorally active ligands based on BPH olfactory system.Muhammad Irfan WARIS Aneela YOUNAS Rana Muhammad Kaleem ULLAH Fatima RASOOL Muhammad Muzammal ADEEL WANG Man-qun 2022Journal of Integrative Agriculture2022,21,3:0
Disintegration of uncertainties associated with real-time multi-satellite precipitation products in diverse topographic and climatic area in Pakistan显示文摘Satellite-based Precipitation Estimates(SPEs)have gained importance due to enhanced spatial and temporal resolution, particularly in Indus basin, where raingauge network has fewer observation stations and drainage area is laying in many countries.Formulation of SPEs is based on indirect mechanism, therefore, assessment and correction of associated uncertainties is required. In the present study, disintegration of uncertainties associated with four prominent real time SPEs,IMERG,TMPA,CMORPH and PERSIANN has been conducted at grid level, regional scale, and summarized in terms of regions as well as whole study area basis. The bias has been disintegrated into hit, missed, false biases, and Root Mean Square Error(RMSE)into systematic and random errors.A comparison among gauge-and satellite-based precipitation estimates at annual scale, showed promising result, encouraging use of real time SPEs in the study area.On grid basis,at daily scale, from box plots, the median values of total bias(-0.5 to 0.5 mm)of the used SPEs were also encouraging although some under/over estimations were noted in terms of hit bias(-0.15 to 0.05 mm/day).Relatively higher values of missed(0.3 to 0.5 mm/day)and false(0.5 to 0.7 mm/day)biases were observed. The detected average daily RMSE,systematic errors, and random errors were also comparatively higher.Regional-scale spatial distribution of uncertainties revealed lower values of uncertainties in plain areas, depicting the better performance of satellite-based products in these areas. However,in areas of high altitude(>4000 m),due to complex topography and climatic conditions(orographic precipitation and glaciated peaks)higher values of biases and errors were observed.Topographic barriers and point scale gauge data could also be a cause of poor performance of SPEs in these areas, where precipitation is more on ridges and less in valleys where gauge stations are usually located.Precipitation system’s size and intensity can also be a reason of higher biases, because Microwave Imager underestimate precipitation in small systems(<200 km^(2))and overestimate in large systems(>2000 km^(2)).At present, use of bias correction techniques at daily time scale is compulsory to utilize real time SPEs in estimation of floods in the study area.Inter comparison of satellite products indicated that IMERG gave better results than the others with the lowest values of systematic errors, missed and false biases.Muhammad MASOOD Ghulam NABI Muhammad BABUR Aftab Hussain AZHAR Muhammad KALEEM ULLAH 2021Journal of Mountain Science2021,18,3:0
Analysis and Characterization of Normally-Off Gallium Nitride High Electron Mobility Transistors显示文摘High electron mobility transistor(HEMT)based on gallium nitride(GaN)is one of the most promising candidates for the future generation of high frequencies and high-power electronic applications. This research work aims at designing and characterization of enhancement-mode or normally-off GaN HEMT.The impact of variations in gate length, mole concentration, barrier variations and other important design parameters on the performance of normally-off GaN HEMT is thoroughly investigated. An increase in the gate length causes a decrease in the drain current and transconductance, while an increase in drain current and transconductance can be achieved by increasing the concentration of aluminium(Al).For Al mole fractions of 23%,25%,and 27%,within Al gallium nitride(AlGaN)barrier, the GaN HEMT devices provide a maximum drain current of 347,408 and 474 mA/μm and a transconductance of 19,20.2,21.5 mS/μm,respectively.Whereas,for Al mole fraction of 10%and 15%,within AlGaN buffer, these devices are observed to provide a drain current of 329 and 283 mA/μm,respectively.Furthermore,for a gate length of 2.4,3.4,and 4.4μm,the device is observed to exhibit a maximum drain current of 272,235,and 221 mA/μm and the transconductance of 16.2,14,and 12.3 mS/μm,respectively.It is established that a maximum drain current of 997 mA/μm can be achieved with an Al concentration of 23%,and the device exhibits a steady drain current with enhanced transconductance. These observations demonstrate tremendous potential for two-dimensional electron gas(2DEG)for securing of the normally-off mode operation.A suitable setting of gate length and other design parameters is critical in preserving the normally-off mode operation while also enhancing the critical performance parameters at the same time.Due to the normallyon depletion-mode nature of GaN HEMT,it is usually not considered as suitable for high power levels, frequencies, and temperature. In such settings,a negative bias is required to enter the blocking condition;however,in the before-mentioned normally-off devices, the negative bias can be avoided and the channel can be depleted without applying a negative bias.Shahzaib Anwar Sardar Muhammad Gulfam Bilal Muhammad Syed Junaid Nawaz Khursheed Aurangzeb Mohammad Kaleem 2021Computers, Materials & Continua2021,,10:0
