| 1 | Direct imaging of the near field and dynamics of surface plasmon resonance on gold nanostructures using photoemission electron microscopy显示文摘Localized surface plasmon resonance(LSPR)can be supported by metallic nanoparticles and engineered nanostructures.An understanding of the spatially resolved near-field properties and dynamics of LSPR is important,but remains experimentally challenging.We report experimental studies toward this aim using photoemission electron microscopy(PEEM)with high spatial resolution of sub-10 nm.Various engineered gold nanostructure arrays(such as rods,nanodisk-like particles and dimers)are investigated via PEEM using near-infrared(NIR)femtosecond laser pulses as the excitation source.When the LSPR wavelengths overlap the spectrum of the femtosecond pulses,the LSPR is efficiently excited and promotes multiphoton photoemission,which is correlated with the local intensity of the metallic nanoparticles in the near field.Thus,the local field distribution of the LSPR on different Au nanostructures can be directly explored and discussed using the PEEM images.In addition,the dynamics of the LSPR is studied by combining interferometric time-resolved pump-probe technique and PEEM.Detailed information on the oscillation and dephasing of the LSPR field can be obtained.The results identify PEEM as a powerful tool for accessing the near-field mapping and dynamic properties of plasmonic nanostructures. | Quan Sun Kosei Ueno Han Yu Atsushi Kubo Yasutaka Matsuo Hiroaki Misawa | 2013 | Light(Science & Applications)2013，2，1： | 14 |
| 2 | Decreased hemoglobin after initial treatment is associated with treatment resistance in Kawasaki disease in Kobayashi risk stratification显示文摘Background Although Kawasaki disease(KD)is known to cause anemia,the relationship between its prognosis and hemoglobin level is less well known.Methods We herein performed a secondary analysis of data from a previous study(Post-RAISE).Children aged 6 months to 2 years at the time of KD diagnosis were enrolled.Decreased hemoglobin was defined as a decrease>10%on post-treatment day 2 compared with the level prior to the initial therapy.Results Of 1253 KD cases,treatment resistance was observed in 209(17%)and was significantly more frequent in the decreased hemoglobin group(37/167 vs.172/1086,P=0.041).Multivariable logistic regression analysis revealed that decreased hemoglobin was associated with resistance to the initial treatment(odds ratio 1.53;95%confidence interval 1.00-2.33;P=0.048).Conclusions Decreased hemoglobin was significantly associated with resistance to initial treatment in patients with KD. | Yukari Atsumi Hiroshi Sakakibara Yoshihiko Morikawa Koichi Miyata Hiroyuki Yamagishi Masahiro Misawa Masaru Miura | 2020 | World Journal of Pediatrics2020，16，6： | 5 |
| 3 | Neoadjuvant chemotherapy followed by surgery in gastric cancer patients with extensive lymph node metastasis显示文摘Gastric cancer with extensive lymph node metastasis(ELM) is usually considered unresectable and is associated with poor outcomes. Cases with clinical enlargement of the para-aortic lymph nodes and/or bulky lymph node enlargement around the celiac artery and its branches are generally dealt with as ELM. A standard treatment for gastric cancer with ELM has yet to be determined. Two phase Ⅱ studies of neoadjuvant chemotherapy followed by surgery showed that neoadjuvant chemotherapy with S-1 plus cisplatin followed by surgical resection with extended lymph node dissection could represent a treatment option for gastric cancer with ELM. | 4 | Endocytoscopic narrow-band imaging efficiency for evaluation of inflammatory activity in ulcerative colitis显示文摘AIM:To assess the efficacy of endocytoscopic narrowband imaging(EC-NBI)for evaluating the severity of inflammation in ulcerative colitis(UC).METHODS:This retrospective study was conducted at a single tertiary care referral center.We included UC patients who underwent colonoscopy with endocytoscopy from July 2010 to December 2013.ECNBI was performed,and the images were evaluated by assessing visibility,increased vascularization,and the increased calibers of capillaries and were classified as Obscure,Visible or Dilated.Obscure was indicative of inactive disease,while Visible and Dilated were indicative of acute inflammation.This study received Institutional Review Board approval.The primary outcome measures included the diagnostic ability of EC-NBI to distinguish between active and inactive UC on the basis of histological activity.The conventional endoscopic images were classified according to the Mayo endoscopic score.A score of 0 or 1 indicated inactive disease,whereas a score of 2 indicated active disease.RESULTS:Fifty-two patients were enrolled.There was a strong correlation between the EC-NBI findings and the histological assessment(r=0.871,P<0.01).The sensitivity,specificity,positive predictive value,negative predictive value,and accuracy of EC-NBI for diagnosing acute inflammation were 84.0%,100%,87.1%,100%,and 92.3%,respectively,while those for the Mayo endoscopic score were 100%,40.7%,100%,61.0%,and 69.2%,respectively.Compared with conventional endoscopy,EC-NBI was superior in diagnostic specificity,negative predictive value,and accuracy(P<0.001,P=0.001 and P=0.047,respectively).CONCLUSION:The EC-NBI finding of capillaries in the rectal mucosa was strongly correlated with histological inflammation and aided in the differential diagnosis between active and inactive UC. | Yasuharu Maeda Kazuo Ohtsuka Shin-ei Kudo Kunihiko Wakamura Yuichi Mori Noriyuki Ogata Yoshiki Wada Masashi Misawa Akihiro Yamauchi Seiko Hayashi Toyoki Kudo Takemasa Hayashi Hideyuki Miyachi Fuyuhiko Yamamura Fumio Ishida Haruhiro Inoue Shigeharu Hamatani | 2015 | World Journal of Gastroenterology2015，21，7： | 4 |
| 5 | Spatial evolution of the near-field distribution on planar gold nanoparticles with the excitation wavelength across dipole and quadrupole modes显示文摘We investigate the superposition properties of the dipole and quadrupole plasmon modes in the near field both experimentally, by using photoemission electron microscopy(PEEM), and theoretically. In particular, the asymmetric near-field distributions on gold(Au) nanodisks and nanoblocks under oblique incidence with different polarizations are investigated in detail. The results of PEEM measurements show that the evolutions of the asymmetric near-field distributions are different between the excitation with s-polarized and p-polarized light.The experimental results can be reproduced very well by numerical simulations and interpreted as the superposition of the dipole and quadrupole modes with the help of analytic calculations. | 7 | Mucosal-incision assisted biopsy for suspected gastric gastrointestinal stromal tumors显示文摘To evaluate the diagnostic yield of the procedure, mucosal-incision assisted biopsy (MIAB), for the histological diagnosis of gastric gastrointestinal stromal tumor (GIST), we performed a retrospective review of the 27 patients with suspected gastric GIST who underwent MIAB in our hospitals. Tissue samples obtained by MIAB were sufficient to make a histological diagnosis (diagnostic MIAB) in 23 out of the 27 patients, where the lesions had intraluminal growth patterns. Alternatively, the samples were insufficient (non-diagnosticMIAB) in remaining 4 patients, three of whom had gastric submucosal tumor with extraluminal growth patterns. | 9 | Effects of protein deprivation and re-feeding on P2X_2 receptors in enteric neurons显示文摘AIM:To investigate the effects of malnutrition and refeeding on the P2X2 receptor,nitric oxide synthase(NOS),calretinin,calbindin and choline acetyltransferase(ChAT) in neurons of the rat ileum.METHODS:We analyzed the co-localization,numbers and sizes of P2X2-expressing neurons in relation to NOS-immunoreactive(IR),calbindin-IR,ChAT-IR,and calretinin-IR neurons of the myenteric and submucosal plexus.The experimental groups consisted of:(1) rats maintained on normal feed throughout pregnancy until 42 d post-parturition(N);(2) rats deprived of protein throughout pregnancy and 42 d post-parturition(D);and(3) rats undernourished for 21 d post-parturition and then given a protein diet from days 22 to 42(DR).The myenteric and submucosal plexuses were evaluated by double labeling by immunohistochemical methods for P2X2 receptor,NOS,ChAT,calbindin and calretinin.RESULTS:We found similar P2X2 receptor immunoreactivity in the cytoplasm and surface membranes of myenteric and submucosal neurons from the N,D and DR groups.Double labeling of the myenteric plexus demonstrated that approximately 100% of NOS-IR,calbindin-IR,calretinin-IR and ChAT-IR neurons in all groups also expressed the P2X2 receptor.In the submucosal plexus,the calretinin-IR,ChAT-IR and calbindin-IR neurons were nearly all immunoreactive for the P2X2 receptor.In the myenteric plexus,there was a 19% increase in numbers per cm2 for P2X2 receptor-IR neurons,64% for NOS-IR,84% for calretinin-IR and 26% for ChAT-IR neurons in the D group.The spatial density of calbindin-IR neurons,however,did not differ among the three groups.The submucosal neuronal density increased for calbindin-IR,calretinin-IR and ChAT-IR neurons.The average size of neurons in the myenteric plexus neurons in the D group was less than that in the controls and,in the re-fed rats;there was a 34% reduction in size only for the calretinin-IR neurons.CONCLUSION:This work demonstrates that expression of the P2X2 receptor is present in inhibitory,intrinsic primary afferent,cholinergic secretomotor and vasomotor neurons.Undernutrition affected P2X2 receptor expression in the submucosal plexus,and neuronal and size.These changes were rescued in the re-fed rats. | Rúbia Misawa Priscila Azevedo Girotti Márcia Sanae Mizuno Edson Aparecido Liberti John Barton Furness Patricia Castelucci | 2010 | World Journal of Gastroenterology2010，16，29： | 2 |
