| 2 | Component analysis of Chinese medicine and advances in fuming-washing therapy for knee osteoarthritis via unsupervised data mining methods显示文摘OBJECTIVE: To analyze the component law of Chinese medicines in fuming-washing therapy for knee osteoarthritis(KOA), and develop new fuming-washing prescriptions for KOA through unsupervised data mining methods.METHODS: Chinese medicine recipes for fuming-washing therapy for KOA were collected and recorded in a database. The correlation coefficient among herbs, core combinations of herbs, andnew prescriptions were analyzed using modified mutual information, complex system entropy cluster, and unsupervised hierarchical clustering, respectively.RESULTS: Based on analysis of 345 Chinese medicine recipes for fuming-washing therapy, 68 herbs occurred frequently, 33 herb pairs occurred frequently, and 12 core combinations were found.Five new fuming-washing recipes for KOA were developed.CONCLUSION: Chinese medicines for fuming-washing therapy of KOA mainly consist of wind-dampness-dispelling and cold-dispersing herbs, blood-activating and stasis-resolving herbs,and wind-dampness-dispelling and heat-clearing herbs. The treatment of fuming-washing therapy for KOA also includes dispelling wind-dampness and dispersing cold, activating blood and resolving stasis, and dispelling wind-dampness and clearing heat. | 3 | The South China Sea is not a mini-Atlantic: plate-edge rifting vs intra-plate rifting显示文摘The South China Sea,as‘a non-volcanic passive margin basin’in the Pacific,has often been considered as a small-scale analogue of the Atlantic.The recent ocean drilling in the northern South China Sea margin found,however,that the Iberian model of non-volcanic rifted margin from the Atlantic does not apply to the South China Sea.In this paper,we review a variety of rifted basins and propose to discriminate two types of rifting basins:plate-edge type such as the South China Sea and intra-plate type like the Atlantic.They not only differ from each other in structure,formation process,lifespan and geographic size,but also occur at different stages of the Wilson cycle.The intra-plate rifting occurred in the Mesozoic and gave rise to large oceans,whereas the plate-edge rifting took place mainly in the mid-Cenozoic,with three-quarters of the basins concentrated in the Western Pacific.As a member of the Western Pacific system of marginal seas,the South China Sea should be studied not in isolation on its origin and evolution,but in a systematic context to include also its neighboring counterparts. | Pinxian Wang Chi-Yue Huang Jian Lin Zhimin Jian Zhen Sun Minghui Zhao | 2019 | National Science Review2019,6,5: | 24 |

| 7 | Genetic and biological characteristics of the globally circulating H5N8 avian influenza viruses and the protective efficacy offered by the poultry vaccine currently used in China显示文摘The H5N8 avian influenza viruses have been widely circulating in wild birds and are responsible for the loss of over 33 million domestic poultry in Europe, Russia, Middle East, and Asia since January 2020. To monitor the invasion and spread of the H5N8 virus in China, we performed active surveillance by analyzing 317 wild bird samples and swab samples collected from 41,172 poultry all over the country. We isolated 22 H5N8 viruses from wild birds and 14 H5N8 viruses from waterfowls. Genetic analysis indicated that the 36 viruses formed two different genotypes: one genotype viruses were widely detected from different wild birds and domestic waterfowls;the other genotype was isolated from a whopper swan. We further revealed the origin and spatiotemporal spread of these two distinct H5N8 virus genotypes in 2020 and 2021. Animal studies indicated that the H5N8 isolates are highly pathogenic to chickens, mildly pathogenic in ducks, but have distinct pathotypes in mice. Moreover, we found that vaccinated poultry in China could be completely protected against H5N8 virus challenge. | 8 | Using borehole core analysis to reveal Late Quaternary paleoearthquakes along the Nankou-Sunhe Fault,Beijing显示文摘The Nankou-Sunhe Fault is a buried active normal fault that traverses the urban area of Beijing.Its seismic risks have caused considerable concerns.This paper studies paleoearthquakes along this fault by analyzing and correlating bore-hole cores obtained from triple-tube coring,incorporating experience acquired from trenching.As a result,a model for identifying earthquake-derived colluvium by sediment-core analysis is proposed.Triple-tube coring technique is useful to collect continuous undis-turbed soil core near the Nankou-Sunhe Fault.By identifying fault-scarp colluviums,determining cumulative displacement,and analysing stratum thickening on the hanging wall,we are able to establish a preliminary paleoearthquake sequence consisting of 13 surface-rupturing events since 60 ka.The seismic history can be divided into three periods based on different recurrence intervals.Between 60 and 40 ka,three earthquakes occurred with recurrence interval of ~10 ka.From 40 to 25 ka,there were six earthquakes with the recurrence interval of about 2.5 ka.In the last 25 ka,four earthquakes have taken place with the recurrence interval varying considerably.The recurrence interval between the last three events is ~5 ka.Smaller recurrence intervals correspond to stages of faster fault slip.The coseismic displacement of a single event is 0.8 to 2.2 m,average 1.4 m,largely equivalent to moment magnitudes 6.7-7.1.This study demonstrates the feasibility of bore-hole drilling in investigating paleoearthquakes along normal faults.It also suggests that closely spaced boreholes with continuous undisturbed cores are essential for reconstructing the complete paleoearthquake sequence. | ZHANG ShiMin WANG DanDan LIU XuDong ZHANG GuoHong ZHAO JunXiang LUO MingHui REN JunJie WANG Rui ZHANG YingLi | 2008 | Science China Earth Sciences2008,51,8: | 11 |

| 10 | A Bipartite Network-based Method for Prediction of Long Non-coding RNA–protein Interactions显示文摘As one large class of non-coding RNAs(nc RNAs), long nc RNAs(lncRNAs) have gained considerable attention in recent years. Mutations and dysfunction of lnc RNAs have been implicated in human disorders. Many lnc RNAs exert their effects through interactions with the corresponding RNA-binding proteins. Several computational approaches have been developed, but only few are able to perform the prediction of these interactions from a network-based point of view. Here,we introduce a computational method named lnc RNA–protein bipartite network inference(LPBNI). LPBNI aims to identify potential lnc RNA–interacting proteins, by making full use of the known lnc RNA–protein interactions. Leave-one-out cross validation(LOOCV) test shows that LPBNI significantly outperforms other network-based methods, including random walk(RWR)and protein-based collaborative filtering(Pro CF). This profile, orientated in NNW-SSE, was as long as 500 km and perpendicular to the strike of regional tectonics. The offshore data were processed in Taiwan Ocean University using a number of available software and the onshore data were analyzed in South China Sea Institute of Oceanology by new-written programs and public software. Preliminary results show that the seismic data are in good quality and contain rich information of deep structure. | 15 | Simultaneous regulation of cations and anions in an electrolyte for high-capacity, high-stability aqueous zinc–vanadium batteries显示文摘Safe,inexpensive aqueous zinc-ion batteries(AZIBs)are regarded as promising energy storage devices.However,they still face issues,including dissolution and collapse of the cathode as well as H_(2)evolution and the growth of Zn dendrites on the Zn anode.Herein,we simultaneously regulate the cations and anions in the electrolyte for high-capacity,high-stability aqueous zinc–vanadium(Zn–V)batteries based on a bimetallic cation-doped Na_(0.33)K_(0.1)V_(2)O_(5)·nH_(2)O cathode.We demonstrate that Na^(+) cations suppress cathode dissolution and restrain Zn dendrite growth on the anode via an electrostatic shield effect.We also illustrate that ClO_(4)^(-) anions participate in energy storage at the cathode and are reduced to Cl^(-),generating a protective layer on the Zn anode surface and providing a stable interface to decrease Zn dendrites and H_(2)evolution during long-term cycling.When Na^(+) and ClO_(4)^(-) are introduced into an aqueous ZnSO_(4) electrolyte,a Zn/Zn symmetric cell shows durable and reversible Zn stripping/plating for 1500 h at a current density of 1 mA cm^(-2) and with an area capacity of 1 mAh cm^(-2).Zn/Na_(0.33)K_(0.1)V_(2)O_(5)·nH_(2)O full batteries exhibit a high capacity of 600 mAh g^(-1)at 0.1 A g^(-1) and long-term cycling performance for 5000 cycles,with a capacity of 200 mAh g^(-1) at 20 Ag^(-1). | Ziqing Wang Miao Zhou Liping Qin Minghui Chen Zixian Chen Shan Guo Liangbing Wang Guozhao Fang Shuquan Liang | 2022 | eScience2022,2,2: | 8 |
| 16 | Effect of Zhuyeshigao granule on tumor necrosis factor-α and inter leukins serum protein levels in rats with radiation esophagitis显示文摘OBJECTIVE: To investigate the effects of Zhuyeshigao granule(ZSG) on tumor necrosis factor-α(TNF-α), interleukin-1(IL-1), IL-2, IL-6, and IL-8 in rats with radiation esophagitis.METHODS: Fifty Wistar rats were randomly divided into five groups(10 rats in each group): control(without radiation), saline-treated, and low,medium, and high-dose ISG-treated groups. Rats were given normal saline(10 mL/kg) or 1.15, 2.3,or 4.6 g/kg ZSG by intragastric administration once a day for 7 days. A rat model of radiation esophagitis was established by local irradiation of Co60(490.25 cGy/min, totaling 30 Gy). The administration of ZSG was continued for another 7 days and on the 7th day post-irradiation, inferior vena cava blood was collected.The serum was separated, and TNF-α, IL-1, IL-2, IL-6, and IL-8 protein levels were determined.RESULTS: Inflammatory response factors were found in the serum of each group. | 17 | Analysis of the constraint relation between ground and self-adaptive mobile mechanism of a transformable wheel-track robot显示文摘To maneuver in unstructured terrains where the ground might be soft, hard, flat or rough, a transformable wheel-track robot (NEZA-I) with a self-adaptive mobile mechanism is proposed and developed. The robot consists of a control system unit, two symmetric transformable wheel-track (TWT) units, and a rear-wheel unit. The TWT unit is the main mobile mechanism for the NEZA-I robot, with the rear-wheel unit acting as an assistant mechanism. Driven only by one servomotor, each TWT unit can efficiently select between track mode and wheel mode for optimal locomotion, autonomously switching locomotion mode and track configuration with changes in the terrain. In this paper, the mechanism structure, the self-adaptive drive system, the locomotion mode and posture of the NEZA-I robot are presented, the kinematic relation of the inside parts of the TWT unit is analysed, and the mathematic model of the constraint relation between the mobile mechanism and the ground, abbreviated to 'MGCR model' is set up for the NEZA-I robot to go through some typical unstructured environments. The mechanism parameters, which influence the self-adaptability of the NEZA-I robot, are found and optimized. Basic experiments show that the mobile mechanism has the self-adaptability to navigate in unstructured terrains and has superior obstacle-negotiating performance, and that the MGCR model and the analysis method of mechanism parameters are reasonable. | 18 | CT仿真支气管内窥镜在中央型肺癌诊断中的应用显示文摘目的 评价螺旋CT仿真支气管内窥镜 (CTVB)在中央型肺癌诊断中的作用。方法 对45例经纤维支气管镜检查和病理证实的气管、支气管肿瘤患者进行CT仿真内窥镜检查 ,包括中央型肺癌 33例、肺癌术后 8例、肺癌放疗后 2例及气管恶性肿瘤 2例。用新型螺旋CT机对患者进行扫描后 ,将数据建成CTVB图像进行分析 ,并与纤维支气管镜进行对照 ,2 4例与病理标本进行对照。结果CTVB显示了 10 0 %的段以上支气管和 80 %以上的亚段支气管。肿瘤呈块状或结节状 ,引起管腔狭窄或闭塞。肺癌术后正常的支气管残端呈光滑的盲端 ,肿瘤复发呈结节状突出 ,与纤维支气管镜所见基本一致。肺癌放疗后支气管腔轻度凹凸不平及管腔狭窄。结论 CTVB是一种新的无创性观察气管、支气管腔的方法 ,酷似纤维支气管镜所见 ,结合其他三维重建功能 ,能同时显示管壁的厚度和肿瘤向管腔外侵犯的范围。但与纤维支气管镜相比 ,不易观察支气管黏膜的表浅病变且不能活检。 | Xiong Minghui ZHANG Wanshi WANG Dong 熊明辉 张挽时 王东 宋云龙 | 2001 | 中华肿瘤杂志2001,23,2: | 7 |
| 19 | Resveratrol compares with melatonin in improving in vitro porcine oocyte maturation under heat stress显示文摘Background: Resveratrol, an important phyto-antioxidant commonly found in grapes, mulberry, and other plants,has a variety of functions including anti-aging, anti-cancer and anti-inflammatory activities. In the current study, we investigated the beneficial effects of resveratrol on in vitro porcine oocyte maturation under heat stress(HS). The effect of resveratrol, melatonin and their combination on alleviating HS was compared according to the maturation rate of oocytes and the development competence of embryos after parthenogenetic activation(PA).Results: Supplementation with resveratrol(2.0 μmol/L) not only improved the nuclear maturation but also raised the blastocyst rate of porcine embryos' PA from oocytes that underwent HS by increasing their glutathione(GSH)level, reducing reactive oxygen species(ROS) and up-regulating the expression of Sirtuin 1(SIRT1). It was also found that melatonin(10^(-7)mol/L) and the combination of resveratrol(2.0 μmol/L) plus melatonin(10^(-7)mol/L) exhibited more potent effects than resveratrol alone regarding their protective activities on oocyte maturation under HS.Conclusions: This study compared the efficiencies of resveratrol, melatonin and their combination for protecting porcine oocytes from heat stress.
