1Virulence factors of Enterococcus strains isolated from patients with inflammatory bowel disease显示文摘AIM: To determine the features of Enterococcus that contribute to the development and maintenance of the inflammatory process in patients with inflammatory bowel disease (IBD). METHODS: Multiplex polymerase chain reaction (PCR) was applied to assess the presence of genes that encode virulence factors [surface aggregating protein (asa1), gelatinase (gelE), cytolysin (cylA), extracellular surface protein (esp) and hyaluronidase (hyl)] in the genomic DNA of 28 strains of Enterococcus isolated from the intestinal tissues of children with IBD (n =16) and of children without IBD (controls; n = 12). Additionally, strains with confirmed presence of the gelE gene were tested by PCR for the presence of quorum sensing genes (fsrA, fsrB, fsrC) that control the gelatinase production. Gelatinase activity was tested on agar plates containing 1.6% gelatin. We also analysed the ability of Enterococcus strains to release and decompose hydrogen peroxide (using Analytical Merckoquant peroxide test strips) and tested their ability to adhere to Caco-2 human gut epithelium cells and form biofilms in vitro. RESULTS: A comparison of the genomes of Enterococcus strains isolated from the inflamed mucosa of patients with IBD with those of the control group showed statistically significant differences in the frequency of theasa1 gene and thegelE gene. Furthermore, the cumulative occurrence of different virulence genes in the genome of a single strain ofEnterococcus isolated from the IBD patient group is greater than in a strain from the control group, although no significant difference was found. Statistically significant differences in the decomposition of hydrogen peroxide and adherence to the Caco-2 epithelial cell line between the strains from the patient group and control group were demonstrated. The results also showed that profuse biofilm production was more frequent amongEnterococcus strains isolated from children with IBD than in control strains. 5The 4th World Landslide Forum: Landslide Research and Risk Reduction for Advancing the Culture of Living with Natural Hazards显示文摘The World Landslide Forum is a triennial mainstream conference that gathers together the scientific and technological community, policymakers, industry actors, public officials, and other stakeholders, who deal with the understanding and management of landslide disaster risk. The establishment of the ISDR-ICL Sendai Partnerships 2015–2025 for Global Promotion of Understanding and Reducing Landslide Disaster Risk in Sendai during the 2015 World Conference on Disaster Risk Reduction(WCDRR) enabled the landslide science and technology community support the implementation of the Sendai Framework for Disaster Risk Reduction 2015–2030 in order to prevent new and reduce existing disaster risk.The 4th World Landslide Forum(WLF4) was held in Ljubljana, Slovenia, from 29 May to 2 June 2017 and discussed the progress of landslide research and risk reduction for advancing the culture of living with natural hazards. A high-level panel composed of United Nations officials, international stakeholders, and national organizations sought to identify the best mechanisms to be developed by the community of the International Consortium on Landslides(ICL). The objective was to advance the implementation of the ISDR-ICL Sendai Partnerships,to achieve a better commitment among partners, and to provide substantive services to developing countries. 7赤道几内亚比奥科岛献血者的输血传播感染疾病血清流行学研究和风险因素评估显示文摘目的在比奥科岛上献血人群中开展一次输血传播感染疾病(transfusion—transmissibleinfections,TTIs)的血清流行病学调查。方法用金标法和ELISA对合格献血者血样进行4项输血传播感染疾病的检测,包括人类免疫缺陷病毒(HIV)、乙型肝型病毒(HBV)、丙型肝型病毒(HCV)、梅毒螺旋体(LUES),同时用多元回归分析方法评估TTIs疾病的相关危险因素。结果在2937名献血者中HIV、HBV、HCV和梅毒螺旋体的感染率分别为7.83%(95%CI:6.85~8.80)、10.01%(95%CI:8.92~11.10)、3.71%(95%CI:3.03~4.39)和21.52%(95%CI:20.02~23.00)。多重混合感染的阳性率是6.30%(95%CI:5.42~7.18)。同时发现女性献血者的HIV和梅毒感染阳性率明显高于男性献血者(HIV:AOR=I.50,95%CI:1.10-2.04,P=0.010;梅毒:AOR=1.27,95%CI:1.02~1.58,P=0.034)。岛上的未规划居住区是艾滋病、乙肝和梅毒感染的显著危险因素(HIV:AOR=I.66,95%CI:1.04~2.66,P=-0.033;HBV:AOR=I.78,95%CI:1.11~2.83,P=-0.016;梅毒:AOR=I.73,95%CI:1.26-2.37,P=-0.001)。结论比奥科岛的献血人群中输血传播感染的阳性率极高,当地政府和卫生部门应采取更有效的干预措施来提高血液安全。谢东德 陈江涛 Urbano Monsuy Eyi Rocio Apicante Matesa Maximo Miko Ondo Obono Carlos Sala Ehapo 郑艳芬 詹小芬 杨辉 杨惠钿 杨立业 章光华 荆磊 林敏 2014分子诊断与治疗杂志2014,6,1:2
8Early stent thrombosis secondary to food allergic reaction:Kounis syndrome following rice pudding ingestion显示文摘Kounis syndrome is the concurrence of coronary spasm, acute myocardial infarction or stent thrombosis, with allergic reactions in the setting of mast-cell and platelet activation. In this report Kounis syndrome manifesting as stent thrombosis with left ventricular thrombus formation was triggered by a food-induced allergic reaction. The allergic reaction to food was confirmed by oral rice pudding ingredients challenge test while skin tests were inconclusive.
