2Discovery and preclinical development of ⅢM-160, a Bergenia ciliatabased anti-inflammatory and anti-arthritic botanical drug candidate显示文摘Objective: Bergenia ciliata(Haw.) Sternb. is used in the Indian traditional system of medicine to treat various ailments including rheumatism and to heal wounds. The objective of the present study was to perform a preclinical characterization of the B. ciliata-based botanical extract IIIM-160.Methods: ⅢM-160 was chemically standardized and analyzed for heavy metal content, aflatoxins,pesticides and microbial load. The in vitro and in vivo efficacies were determined in suitable models of inflammation, arthritis and nociception. An acute oral toxicity study was performed in Swiss albino mice.A suitable oral formulation was developed and characterized.Results: Bergenin was found to be the major component(9.1% w/w) of ⅢM-160. The botanical lead displayed inhibition of lipopolysaccharide-induced production of proinflammatory cytokines in THP-1 cells, with selectivity toward interleukin-6(IL-6) and had an excellent safety-window. It showed anti-inflammatory, anti-arthritic and antinociceptive activity in animal models and was not toxic at oral doses up to 2 g/kg in Swiss-albino mice. The gastroretentive, sustained-release capsule formulation showed sustained-release of the bergenin over the period of 24 h, resulting in improved plasma-exposure of bergenin in Sprague–Dawley rats.Conclusion: The dual-activity of IL-6 inhibition and antinociception marks the suitability of ⅢM-160 for treating rheumatoid arthritis. 6A comparative analysis of radon (^(222)Rn) concentration in the different water sources of Ganderbal, Jammu and Kashmir显示文摘Introduction Radon,a known carcinogen,is the second largest cause of lung carcinoma as per the World Health Organisation.The primary purpose of the present research is to examine and compare the concentrations of radon gas(^(222)Rn)in different sources of water in the Lar and Ganderbal tehsils of the district of Ganderbal,Jammu and Kashmir.Higher groundwater ^(222)Rn concentrations indicate higher indoor radon concentrations and long-term radon exposure is extremely harmful to human health as it increases the risk of developing lung cancer.Method A scintillation-based radon monitor called the smart RnDuo was used to quantify the amount of radon activity present in water samples collected from different locations of Lar and Ganderbal regions of district Ganderbal.Results Average radon(^(222)Rn)concentration of 1.84 BqL^(−1) was found in tap waters,3.73 BqL^(−1) in surface waters,16.56 BqL^(−1) in borewells,and 20.82 BqL^(−1) in springs.The higher radon concentration in groundwater is because of the direct and prolonged interaction of uranium-rich rocks and soil with the water.Hence,monitoring and regulating radon levels in these water sources is crucial to ensure public health and safety.Mehak Mohi u Din Shakeel Simnani Salik Nazir Sajad Masood Mohammad Rafiq Chakan Supriya Rani Amit Kumar Singla Shahid Saleem 2023Radiation Detection Technology and Methods2023,7,4:0
7Automated Grading of Breast Cancer Histopathology Images Using Multilayered Autoencoder显示文摘Breast cancer(BC)is the most widely recognized cancer in women worldwide.By 2018,627,000 women had died of breast cancer(World Health Organization Report 2018).To diagnose BC,the evaluation of tumours is achieved by analysis of histological specimens.At present,the Nottingham Bloom Richardson framework is the least expensive approach used to grade BC aggressiveness.Pathologists contemplate three elements,1.mitotic count,2.gland formation,and 3.nuclear atypia,which is a laborious process that witness’s variations in expert’s opinions.Recently,some algorithms have been proposed for the detection of mitotic cells,but nuclear atypia in breast cancer histopathology has not received much consideration.Nuclear atypia analysis is performed not only to grade BC but also to provide critical information in the discrimination of normal breast,non-invasive breast(usual ductal hyperplasia,atypical ductal hyperplasia)and pre-invasive breast(ductal carcinoma in situ)and invasive breast lesions.We proposed a deep-stacked multi-layer autoencoder ensemble with a softmax layer for the feature extraction and classification process.The classification results show the value of the multilayer autoencoder model in the evaluation of nuclear polymorphisms.The proposed method has indicated promising results,making them more fit in breast cancer grading.Shakra Mehak M.Usman Ashraf Rabia Zafar Ahmed M.Alghamdi Ahmed S.Alfakeeh Fawaz Alassery Habib Hamam Muhammad Shafiq 2022Computers, Materials & Continua2022,,5:0
8Evaluation of dielectric,energy storage and multiferroic properties of PrFeO_(3)-PbTiO_(3)solid solutions显示文摘This work promotes the room temperature energy storage properties of the multiferroics.In this approach,impacts of PrFeO_(3)doping on PT-based solid solutions(Pb1−xPrxTi1−xFexO_(3),x=0.21,0.22,0.23,0.24,0.25 and 0.26)have been explored.X-ray diffraction(XRD)patterns were used to estimate the crystallographic parameters,confirming the single phase tetragonal structure.The ferroelectric Curie temperature(Tc FE)is observed to drop from 410 K to below room temperature as the Pr concentration increases.The ferroelectric P-E loops were used to determine the energy storage values at room temperature.The sample x=0.24 achieved the maximum value of energy storage density of 362.25 mJ/cm^(3)with the efficiency of 40.5%.The ferroelectric P-E loops were used to determine the energy storage values at room temperature.The validity of magnetoelectric coupling in all samples was confirmed by magneto-dielectric studies and found that the sample x=0.24 shows the maximum response with the coupling coefficient(γ)=15.54 g^(2)/emu^(2).Mehak Arora Shubhpreet Kaur Sunil Kumar Parambir Singh Malhi Mandeep Singh Anupinder Singh 2022Journal of Advanced Dielectrics2022,12,5:0

10Agreement in experimental and theoretically obtained electrocaloric effect in optimized Bi^(3+)doped PbZr_(0.52)Ti_(0.48)O_(3)material显示文摘This work harmonizes the experimental and theoretical study of electrocaloric effect(ECE)in(Pb_(0.8)Bi_(0.2))(Zr_(0.52)Ti_(0.48))O_(3)solid solution by optimizing sintering temperature.Bi^(3+)-doped PbZr_(0.52)Ti_(0.48)O_(3)solid solutions were synthesized by the conventional solid-state reaction method.Different samples were prepared by varying the sintering temperature.X-ray diffraction study con-firms the crystalline nature of all the samples.An immense value of polarization has been acquired in the optimized sample.The maximum adiabatic temperature change of order 2.53 K with electrocaloric strength of 1.26 K mm kV^(−1)has been achieved exper-imentally.Whereas a comparatively close value of ECE has been acquired from the theoretical calculations using a phenomeno-logical approach.Furthermore,a large value(218 mJ cm^(−3))of thermal energy conversion has been obtained using the Olsen cycle.Shubhpreet Kaur Mehak Arora Sunil Kumar Parambir Singh Malhi Mandeep Singh Anupinder Singh 2022Journal of Advanced Dielectrics2022,12,3:0

12Hepatitis in slaughterhouse workers显示文摘Slaughterhouse workers(SHW) are at increased risk of hepatitis which can occur due to different organisms and should be investigated for viral, bacterial, and parasitic organisms. Slaughter house personnel including butchers are at a higher risk of infections from cuts and blood-letting, with the possible risk of the transmission of blood-borne pathogens to their colleagues. The objective of this review is to evaluate the common etiologies of hepatitis in SHW which will assist in the assessment of these patients presenting with transaminitis. Types of Microorganisms causing hepatitis with their reservoirs, routes of transmission,laboratory diagnosis, clinical features, treatment options and preventive strategies are included in this review. Proper investigation and awareness is of utmost importance as it causes significant financial constraints derived from workers health cost and from livestock production losses when the disease is confirmed. 13Extended Balanced Scheduler with Clustering and Replication for Data Intensive Scientific Workflow Applications in Cloud Computing显示文摘Cloud computing is an advance computing model using which several applications,data and countless IT services are provided over the Internet.Task scheduling plays a crucial role in cloud computing systems.The issue of task scheduling can be viewed as the finding or searching an optimal mapping/assignment of set of subtasks of different tasks over the available set of resources so that we can achieve the desired goals for tasks.With the enlargement of users of cloud the tasks need to be scheduled.Cloud’s performance depends on the task scheduling algorithms used.Numerous algorithms have been submitted in the past to solve the task scheduling problem for heterogeneous network of computers.The existing research work proposes different methods for data intensive applications which are energy and deadline aware task scheduling method.As scientific workflow is combination of fine grain and coarse grain task.Every task scheduled to VM has system overhead.If multiple fine grain task are executing in scientific workflow,it increase the scheduling overhead.To overcome the scheduling overhead,multiple small tasks has been combined to large task,which decrease the scheduling overhead and improve the execution time of the workflow.Horizontal clustering has been used to cluster the fine grained task further replication technique has been combined.The proposed scheduling algorithm improves the performance metrics such as execution time and cost.Further this research can be extended with improved clustering technique and replication methods.Satwinder Kaur Mehak Aggarwal 2018Journal of Electronic Research and Application2018,2,3:0
14Performance Enhancement of Praseodymium Doped Fiber Amplifiers显示文摘In this paper,we report a simulation study on the performance enhancement of Praseodymium doped silica fiber amplifiers(PDFAs)in O-band(1270-1350 nm)in terms of small signal gain,power conversion efficiency(PCE),and output optical power by employing bidirectional pumping.The PDFA performance is examined by optimizing the length of Praseodymium doped silica fiber(PDF),its mode-field diameter(MFD)and the concentration of Pr^(3+).A small-signal peak gain of 56.4 dB,power conversion efficiency(PCE)of 47%,and output optical power of around 1.6 W(32 dBm)is observed at optimized parameters for input signal wavelength of 1310 nm.Minimum noise figure(NF)of 4.1 dB is observed at input signal wavelength of 1310 nm.Moreover,the effect of varying the pump wavelength and pump power on output optical power of the amplifier and amplified spontaneous emission(ASE)noise is also investigated,respectively.Finally,the impact of ion-ion interaction(up-conversion effect)on small-signal gain of the amplifier is also studied by considering different values of up-conversion coefficient.Abdullah G.Alharbi Jawad Mirza Mehak Raza Salman Ghafoor 2022Computers, Materials & Continua2022,,12:0
