| 1 | Recent Developments in Integrated Solar Combined Cycle Power Plants显示文摘Global concern for depleting fossil fuel reserves have been compelling for evolving power generation options using renewable energy sources. The solar energy happens to be a potential source for running the power plants among renewable energy sources. Integrated Solar Combined Cycle(ISCC) power plants have gained popularity among the thermal power plants. Traditional ISCC power plants use Direct Steam Generation(DSG) approach. However, with the DSG method, the ISCC plant’s overall thermal efficiency does not increase significantly due to variations in the availability of solar energy. Thermal Energy Storage(TES) systems when integrated into the solar cycle can address such issues related to energy efficiency, process flexibility, reducing intermittency during non-solar hours. This review work focuses and discusses the developments in various components of the ISCC system including its major cycles and related parameters. The main focus is on CSP technologies, Heat Transfer Fluid(HTF), and Phase Change Material(PCM) used for thermal energy storage. Further, study includes heat enhancement methods with HTF and latent heat storage system. | 2 | Efficacy of natural biocide on control of microbial induced corrosion in oil pipelines mediated by Desulfovibrio vulgaris and Desulfovibrio gigas显示文摘We compared the efficacy of a natural biocide with four chemical tetrakishydroxymethyl phosphonium sulfonate,benzyl trimethyl ammonium chloride,and formaldehyde,glutaraldehyde,to control microbial induced corrosion in oil pipelines.The efficacy of biocides were monitored against Desulfovibrio vulgaris and Desulfovibrio gigas in experimental pipes by measuring cell counts,H 2 S production,Fe(Ⅱ) production,production of extracellular polymeric substances and structure of biofilm.The treatment with cow urine hadminimum planktonic cell counts of 3×10 2 CFU/mL as well as biofilm cell counts of 9×10 1 CFU/mL as compared with tetrakishydroxyl methyl phosphonium sulfonate,benzyl trimethyl ammonium chloride,formaldehyde and glutaraldehyde.Sulfide production was the lowest with cow urine (0.08 mmol/L),followed by tetrakishydroxymethyl phosphonium sulfonate 0.72 mmol/L.On day 90 of treatment,Fe(Ⅱ) production was also found to be the lowest with cow urine.The scanning electron microscopic studies indicated that the biofilm bacteria were killed by cow urine.These results demonstrate the cow urine mediated control of microbially induced corrosion,and this is indicative of its potential as a viable substitute of toxic biocides.To the best of our knowledge,this seems to be the first report which screens possible biocidal activity by cow urine as compared to the most common biocides which oil industry is currently using. | Meeta Lavania Priyangshu M.Sarma Ajoy K.Mandal Simrita Cheema Banwari Lal | 2011 | Journal of Environmental Sciences2011,23,8: | 2 |

| 16 | Pregnancy outcomes following supplementation of single dose GnRH agonist to sustain the luteal phase in antagonist fresh embryo transfer cycles:A multicentric prospective cohort study显示文摘Objective:To determine whether a single dose of gonadotropin-releasing hormone(GnRH)agonist administered subcutaneously in addition to the regular progesterone supplementation could provide a better luteal support in antagonist protocol fresh embryo transfer cycles.Methods:This prospective,multicentric,cohort study included total 140 women,70 in each group.Controlled ovarian stimulation was carried out as per fixed GnRH antagonist protocol.The trigger was given with hCG.In vitro fertilization/intracytoplasmic sperm injection(IVF/ICSI)was performed and day-3 embryos were transferred.Patients were divided into groups 1 and 2 based on computer generated randomization sheet.Six days following oocyte retrieval,group 1 received 0.2 mg decapeptyl subcutaneously in addition to regular progesterone support while group 2 received progesterone only.Luteal support was given for 14 days to both groups;if pregnancy was confirmed luteal support was continued till 12 weeks of gestation.The clinical pregnancy rate was the primary outcome.The implantation rate,miscarriage rate,live birth delivery rate,and multiple pregnancy rates were the secondary outcomes.Results:A total of 140 patients were analysed,70 in each group.Clinical pregnancy rates(47.1%vs.35.7%;P=0.17),implantation rates(23.4%vs.18.1%,P=0.24),live birth delivery rates(41.4%vs.27.1%,P=0.08),and multiple pregnancy rates(21.2%vs.16.0%,P=0.74)were higher in group 1 than in group 2.Group 1 had a lower miscarriage rate than group 2(5.7%vs.8.6%;P=0.75).However,these differences were not statistically significant between the two groups.Conclusions:Administration of a single dose of GnRH agonist in addition to regular natural micronized vaginal progesterone as luteal support in GnRH antagonist protocol cycles marginally improves implantation rates,clinical pregnancy rates,and live birth delivery rates.However,more studies with higher sample sizes are needed before any conclusive statements about GnRH agonist as luteal phase support can be made. | Tatapudi S V Parvathi Devi Alka Gahlot Sangita Sharma Manisha Choudhary Ravikant Soni Meeta Sharma | 2023 | Asian pacific Journal of Reproduction2023,12,4: | 0 |
