3ILF3 is a substrate of SPOP for regulating serine biosynthesis in colorectal cancer显示文摘The Serine-Glycien-One-Carbon(SGOC)pathway is pivotal in multiple anabolic processes.Expression levels of SGOC genes are deregulated under tumoeigenic condltions,suggesting panicipation of oncogenes in deregulating the SGOC biosynthetic pathway.However,the underlying mechanism remains elusive.Here,we identifed that Interleukin enfiarccer-binding factor 3(ILF3)is overexpressed in primary CRC patient specimens and correlates with poor progroosis.ILF3 is critical in regulating the SGOC pathway by directly regulating the mRNA stability of SGOC genes,thereby increasing SGOC genes expression and facilitating tumor growth.Mehhanktic studies showed that the EGF-MIEK-ERK pathway nnediates ILF3 phosphorylation,which hin ders E3 ligase speckle-type POZ protein(SPOP)-mediated poly-ubiquitination and degradation of ILF3.Sign iftca ntly,combination of SGOC inhibitor and the anti-EGFR monoclonal antibody cetuximab can hinder the growth of patient-derived xenografts that sustain high ERK-ILF3 levels.Taken together,deregutation of ILF3 via the EGF-ERK signaling plays an important role in systemic serine metabolic reprogramming and confers a predilection toward CRC development.Our findings indicate that clinical evaluation of SCOC inhibitor is warranted for CRC patients with ILF3 overexpression.Kai Li Jian-lin Wu Baifu Qin Zongmin Fan Qin Tang Weisi Lu Haipeng Zhang Fan Xing Manqi Meng Shaomin Zou Wenxia Wei Honglei Chen Jian Cai Huaiming Wang Hui Zhang Jiayue Cai Ling Fang Xiqing Bian Chuangqi Chen Ping Lan Bart Ghesquiere Lekun Fang Mong-Hong Lee 2020Cell Research2020,30,2:6

The composite possessed excellent kinetic properties even at moderate temperature (393 K) without activation. 7Antibacterial Properties of Cerium-Bearing Stainless Steel Bearing Cerium显示文摘In this study, the nominal 00Cr18Ni9 type alloys containing 0 to 5% Ce were melted in a inductive furnace in an atmosphere of argon, the distribution and content of cerium in these Ce-bearing stainless steels were analyzed, the composition of cerium precipitation phase was analyzed with X-ray diffraction method, the antibacterial performance of Ce-bearing stainless steels against Escherichia coli ATCC 8099 and Staphytococcus aureus ATCC 6538 were investigated with film attachment method. It is found that the stainless steels containing Ce have excellent antibacterial property, especially, not as the Cu-bearing antibacterial stainless steels, a special aging treatment is not required for Ce-bearing antibacterial stainless steels, which makes their application easy and cheap. 10Clinical characteristics and survival analysis of colorectal cancer in China:a retrospective cohort study with 13,328 patients from southern China显示文摘Background:Colorectal cancer(CRC)is one of the most common cancers in China.However,detailed clinical characteristics and survival information are limited.This study aimed to investigate the potential epidemiological and clinical risk factors affecting the survival of CRC patients in southern China.Methods:Patients with primary CRC between 1994 and 2019 at the First and the Sixth Affiliated Hospitals of Sun Yat-sen University(Guangzhou,China)were included.Clinical characteristics and survival outcomes were collected from medical records.The Kaplan–Meier method was used to estimate overall survival(OS)and progression-free survival(PFS),and Cox’s proportional-hazards regression model was used to estimate hazard ratios and 95%confidence intervals.Results:Of all 13,328 patients,60.1%were men;the mean age was 61.3 years;53.5%had colon cancer.Among all patients,1,864(14.0%)were diagnosed with stage IV disease.The 3-and 5-year OS rates were 79.90%and 71.50%,respectively,whereas the 3-and 5-year PFS rates were 70.30%and 63.90%,respectively.The median OS and PFS times were 189 and 149 months,respectively.Among 13,328 patients,428(14.0%)patients with poor/undifferentiated cancer suffered recurrence.In patients with stageⅢand stageⅣdiseases,the median PFS times of the patients who received chemotherapy were significantly longer than those in patients who had not received chemotherapy(stageⅢ:147 vs 62 months,P<0.001;stageⅣ:14 vs 9.5 months,P<0.001).Conclusions:This retrospective cohort study illustrates the current status of the clinical characteristics of patients with CRC in southern China.Sex,age,family history,location of cancer occurrence,differentiation status,T status,N status,M status,clinical stage,operation,and surgical margin are independent factors associated with the OS of CRC patients.Lekun Fang Ziqing Yang Mingliang Zhang Manqi Meng Junyan Feng Chuangqi Chen 2021Gastroenterology Report2021,9,6:1
113D Printed Multi-material Medical Phantoms for Needle-tissue Interaction Modelling of Heterogeneous Structures显示文摘The fabrication of multi-material medical phantoms with both patient-specificity and realistic mechanical properties is of great importance for the development of surgical planning and medical training.In this work,a 3D multi-material printing system for medical phantom manufacturing was developed.Rigid and elastomeric materials are firstly combined in such application for an accurate tactile feedback.The phantom is designed with multiple layers,where silicone ink,Thermoplastic Polyurethane(TPU),and Acrylonitrile Butadiene Styrene(ABS)were chosen as printing materials for skin,soft tissue,and bone,respectively.Then,the printed phantoms were utilized for the investigation of needle-phantom interaction by needle insertion experiments.The mechanical needle-phantom interaction was characterized by skin-soft tissue interfacial puncture force,puncture depth,and number of insertion force peaks.The experiments demonstrated that the manufacturing conditions,i.e.the silicone grease ratio,interfacial thickness and the infill rate,played effective roles in regulating mechanical needle-phantom interaction.Moreover,the influences of material properties,including interfacial thickness and ultimate stress,on needle-phantom interaction were studied by finite element simulation.Also,a patient-specific forearm phantom was printed,where the anatomical features were acquired from Computed Tomography(CT)data.This study provided a potential manufacturing method for multi-material medical phantoms with tunable mechanical properties and offered guidelines for better phantom design.Jun Yin Manqi Li Guangli Dai Hongzhao Zhou Liang Ma Yixiong Zheng 2021Journal of Bionic Engineering2021,18,2:1
