1Smart Objects Identification System for Robotic Surveillance显示文摘Video surveillance is an active research topic in computer vision.In this paper,humans and cars identifcation technique suitable for real time video surveillance systems is presented.The technique we proposed includes background subtraction,foreground segmentation,shadow removal,feature extraction and classifcation.The feature extraction of the extracted foreground objects is done via a new set of afne moment invariants based on statistics method and these were used to identify human or car.When the partial occlusion occurs,although features of full body cannot be extracted,our proposed technique extracts the features of head shoulder.Our proposed technique can identify human by extracting the human head-shoulder up to 60%–70%occlusion.Thus,it has a better classifcation to solve the issue of the loss of property arising from human occluded easily in practical applications.The whole system works at approximately 16 29 fps and thus it is suitable for real-time applications.The accuracy for our proposed technique in identifying human is very good,which is 98.33%,while for cars identifcation,the accuracy is also good,which is 94.41%.The overall accuracy for our proposed technique in identifying human and car is at 98.04%.The experiment results show that this method is efective and has strong robustness.Amir Akramin Shafie Azhar Bin Mohd Ibrahim Muhammad Mahbubur Rashid 2014International Journal of Automation and computing2014,11,1:3
2Comparative investigation of the free radical scavenging potential and anticancer property of Diospyros blancoi(Ebenaceae)显示文摘Objective: To investigate the comparative effects of Diospyros blancoi(Ebenaceae)leaves(DBL), root bark(DBRB) and stem bark(DBSB) on free radicals and cancer.Methods: The polyphenol contents, antioxidant and free radical scavenging properties were determined using standard spectrophotometric methods. Cytotoxicity and anticancer activities were performed on brine shrimp nauplii and Ehrlich ascite carcinoma cells, respectively.Results: Among the extracts, DBSB showed the highest total antioxidant capacity and reducing capacity on ferrous ion. Based on 1,1-diphenyl-2-picrylhydrazyl and hydroxyl radical scavenging activities, DBSB showed(95.760 ± 0.343)% and(67.460 ± 2.641)%scavenging with IC50of(3.10 ± 0.17) and(50.00 ± 3.11) mg/m L, respectively. The IC50 values of standard butylated hydroxytoluene and catechin(CA) for 1,1-diphenyl-2-picrylhydrazyl and hydroxyl radicals were(8.50 ± 0.25) and(75.00 ± 0.14) mg/m L,respectively suggesting that DBSB had a significant(P < 0.05) radical scavenging activity than standards. In lipid peroxidation inhibition assay, the inhibitory activity of the extracts and the standard was in the following order: DBSB > DBRB > CA > DBL.Also, the phenolic [(139.91 ± 3.924) mg gallic acid equivalent/g] and flavonoid contents[(412.00 ± 16.70) mg catechin equivalent/g)] of DBSB were higher than that of other extracts. 3Comparative analysis of metabolite changes in two contrasting rice genotypes in response to low-nitrogen stress显示文摘Identification of metabolites responsible for tolerance to low nitrogen availability(low-N)will aid in the genetic improvement of rice yield under nitrogen deficiency.In this study,a backcross introgression line(G9)and its recurrent parent Shuhui 527(SH527),which show differential responses to low-N stress,were used to identify metabolites associated with lowN tolerance in rice.Differences in metabolite contents in the leaves of G9 and SH527 at three growth stages under low-N stress were assessed by gas chromatography–mass spectrometry.Many metabolites,including amino acids and derivatives,were highly enriched in G9 compared with SH527 under the control condition,suggesting that the two genotypes had basal metabolite differences.Low-N stress induced genotype-specific as well as growth stagedependent metabolite changes.Metabolites induced specifically in G9 that were involved in glycolysis and tricarboxylic acid metabolism were enriched at the tillering and grain filling stages,and metabolites involved in nitrogen and proline metabolism were enriched at the booting stage.Enrichment of pyroglutamate,glutamate,2-oxoglutarate,sorbose,glycerate-2-P,and phosphoenolpyruvic acid in G9 suggests that these metabolites could be involved in low-N stress tolerance.The results presented here provide valuable information for further elucidation of the molecular mechanisms of low-N tolerance in crops.Xiuqin Zhao Wensheng Wang Ziyan Xie Yongming Gao Chunchao Wang Muhammed Mahbubur Rashid Mohammad Rafiqul Islam Binying Fu Zhikang Li 2018The Crop Journal2018,6,5:2

19DEM simulation of particle percolation in a packed bed显示文摘The phenomenon of spontaneous particle percolation under gravity is investigated by means of the discrete element method. Percolation behaviors such as percolation velocity, residence time distribution and radial dispersion are examined under various conditions. It is shown that the vertical velocity of a percolating particle moving down through a packing of larger particles decreases with increasing the restitution coefficient between particles and diameter ratio of the percolating to packing particles. With the increase of the restitution coefficient, the residence time and radial dispersion of the percolating particles increase. The packing height affects the residence time and radial dispersion. But, the effect can be eliminated in the analysis of the residence time and radial dispersion when they are normalized by the average residence time and the product of the packing height and packing particle diameter, respectively. In addition, the percolation velocity is shown to be related to the vertical acceleration of the percolating particle when an extra constant vertical force is applied.
