| 1 | Non-Epstein-Barr virus associated lymphoepithelioma-like carcinoma of the inferior common bile duct显示文摘A carcinoma displaying undifferentiated features with dense lymphoplasmacytic infiltration is defined as a lymphoepithelioma-like carcinoma(LEC),and some of LEC is associated with Epstein-Barr virus(EBV).All of the 13 previously reported cases of LEC of the biliary system were intrahepatic in location.Herein,we describe the first case of LEC of the inferior common bile duct.A 68-year-old Japanese man,who had been previously treated for hepatocellular carcinoma using microwave coagulation therapy,was found to have tumors of the common bile duct and pancreas head.Histopathological study of the resected tumor showed solid or cohesive nests of large undifferentiated cells with irregular large vesicular nuclei and nucleoli.Around the tumor cell nests,dense lymphoplasmacytic infiltration was observed.Focal glandular differentiation(approximately 5%) was also present.These histopathological features corresponded morphologically to LEC.Immunohistochemically,the tumor cells were positive for cytokeratin(CK) 7,CK 19 and CA19-9,but negative for CK 20 and Hep Par 1.In situ hybridization for Epstein Barr virus early small RNAs disclosed no nuclear signal in tumor cells.Therefore,a diagnosis of non-EBV-associated LEC of the inferior common bile duct was made.Although the prognosis of the biliary LEC is thought to be better than that of conventional cholangiocarcinoma,the differences in prognosis between EBV-positive and-negative cases have not yet been established.Therefore,additional case studies will be needed to clarify the clinicopathological features of LEC of the biliary tract. | Mitsuaki Ishida Tsuyoshi Mori Hisanori Shiomi Shigeyuki Naka Tomoyuki Tsujikawa Akira Andoh Yasuharu Saito Yoshimasa Kurumi Fumiyoshi Kojima Machiko Hotta Tohru Tani Yoshihide Fujiyama Hidetoshi Okabe | 2011 | World Journal of Gastrointestinal Oncology2011，3，7： | 5 |
| 2 | Production and Accumulation of Xylooligosaccharides with Long Chains by Growing Culture and Xylanase of a Mutant Strain of Bacillus pumilus X-6-19显示文摘Bacillus pumilus X-6-9 isolated from soil and subsequently identified, produced xylooligosaccharides with long chains from xylan and accumulated them in the culture. By improving the culture conditions and mutating the bacterium, a 3.2-fold increase in the production of the xylooligosaccharides was established, when compared to the original culture conditions of B. pumilus X-6-19. The addition of D-glucose to the culture of the mutant strain U-3 of B. pumilus X-6-9 repressed the synthesis of β-xylosidase, but not xylanase. Thus, it was revealed that strain U-3 was a good organism for the production and accumulation of xylooligosaccharides with long chains from xylan by a microbial culture. Xylanase produced by strain U-3 was purified to homogeneity and characterized. | 3 | Hepatic reactive lymphoid hyperplasia in a patient with primary biliary cirrhosis显示文摘Reactive lymphoid hyperplasia(RLH) of the liver is an extremely rare lesion characterized by the proliferation of non-neoplastic lymphocytes forming follicles.Hepatic RLH is known to be associated with gastrointestinal carc inoma and autoimmune diseases including primary biliary cirrhosis(PBC).We report a case of hepatic RLH in a patient with PBC and gastric cancer.A 68 year old Japanese woman with a 10 year history of liver enzyme abnormality was admitted.Laboratory testing revealed that her anti-mitochondrial antibody was markedly elev ated.Five mo after the diagnosis of PBC,she was foun d to have gastric cancer.Abdominal computed tom og raphy disclosed a liver nodule in S8,suggesting metas tatic gastric carcinoma.Histopathologically,the resected liver lesion comprised of a nodular proliferation of small lym phocytes with lymphoid follicles.This is the first reported case of hepatic RLH in a patient with both PBC and gastric cancer.Pre-operative diagnosis of hepatic RLH by clinical imaging is extremely difficult.Therefore,a need le biopsy could be useful to make a diagnosis of hepat ic RLH,especially to differentiate from metastatic gastroin t estinal carcinoma. | Mitsuaki Ishida Tamio Nakahara Yousuke Mochizuki Tomoyuki Tsujikawa Akira Andoh Yasuharu Saito Hiroshi Yamamoto Fumiyoshi Kojima Machiko Hotta Tohru Tani Yoshihide Fujiyama Hidetoshi Okabe | 2010 | World Journal of Hepatology2010，2，10： | 2 |
| 4 | Highly accurate colorectal cancer prediction model based on Raman spectroscopy using patient serum显示文摘BACKGROUND Colorectal cancer(CRC) is an important disease worldwide, accounting for the second highest number of cancer-related deaths and the third highest number of new cancer cases. The blood test is a simple and minimally invasive diagnostic test. However, there is currently no blood test that can accurately diagnose CRC.AIM To develop a comprehensive, spontaneous, minimally invasive, label-free, bloodbased CRC screening technique based on Raman spectroscopy.METHODS We used Raman spectra recorded using 184 serum samples obtained from patients undergoing colonoscopies. Patients with malignant tumor histories as well as those with cancers in organs other than the large intestine were excluded. Consequently, the specific diseases of 184 patients were CRC(12), rectal neuroendocrine tumor(2), colorectal adenoma(68), colorectal hyperplastic polyp(18), and others(84). We used the 1064-nm wavelength laser for excitation. The power of the laser was set to 200 mW.RESULTS Use of the recorded Raman spectra as training data allowed the construction of a boosted tree CRC prediction model based on machine learning. Therefore, the generalized R^2 values for CRC, adenomas, hyperplastic polyps, and neuroendocrine tumors were 0.9982, 0.9630, 0.9962, and 0.9986, respectively.CONCLUSION For machine learning using Raman spectral data, a highly accurate CRC prediction model with a high R^2 value was constructed.
