HPLC was used for the component analysis of the polysaccharide. The results indicate that Physalis alkekengi L. polysaccharide(PAP) was composed of rhamnose, xylose, arabinose, galactose, and glucose. Free radicals scavenging activity of PAP was studied through 3 free radicals scavenging tests. PAP exhibited high scavenging effects on OH and DPPH radicals, and both the scavenging rates were about 80%. | 3 | The enhanced X-ray Timing and Polarimetry mission—eXTP显示文摘In this paper we present the enhanced X-ray Timing and Polarimetry mission—eXTP. eXTP is a space science mission designed to study fundamental physics under extreme conditions of density, gravity and magnetism. The mission aims at determining the equation of state of matter at supra-nuclear density, measuring effects of QED, and understanding the dynamics of matter in strong-field gravity. In addition to investigating fundamental physics, eXTP will be a very powerful observatory for astrophysics that will provide observations of unprecedented quality on a variety of galactic and extragalactic objects. | 4 | Baihui(DU20)-penetrating-Qubin(GB7) acupuncture inhibits apoptosis in the perihemorrhagic penumbra显示文摘Baihui(DU20)-penetrating-Qubin(GB7) acupuncture can inhibit inflammatory reactions and activate signaling pathways related to proliferation after intracerebral hemorrhage.However,there is no research showing the relationship between this treatment and cell apoptosis.Rat models of intracerebral hemorrhage were established by injecting 60 μL of autologous blood into the right side of the caudate-putamen.Six hours later,the needle traveled subcutaneously from the Baihui acupoint to Qubin acupoint.The needle was alternately rotated(180 ± 10 turns/min) manually along clockwise and counter-clockwise directions.Stimulation lasted for 7 days,and was performed three times each for 6 minutes with 6-minute intervals between stimulations.Rats intraperitoneally receiving Sonic hedgehog pathway activator,purmorphamine(1 mg/kg per day),served as positive controls.Motor and sensory function were assessed using the Ludmila Belayev test.Extent of pathological changes were measured in the perihemorrhagic penumbra using hematoxylin-eosin staining.Apoptosis was examined by terminal deoxynucleotidyl transferase(Td T)-mediated d UTP nick end labeling assay.Expression of smoothened(Smo) and glioma-associated homolog 1(Gli1) was determined by western blot assay.Our results showed that Baihui-penetrating-Qubin acupuncture promoted recovery of motor and sensory function,reduced the apoptotic cell percentage in the perihemorrhagic penumbra,and up-regulated Smo and Gli1 expression.We conclude that Baihui-penetrating-Qubin acupuncture can mitigate hemorrhage and promote functional recovery of the brain in a rat model of intracerebral hemorrhage,possibly by activating the Sonic hedgehog pathway. | Beng Zhang Xiao-Hong Dai Xue-Ping Yu Wei Zou Wei Teng Xiao-Wei Sun Wei-Wei Yu Hao Liu Hui Wang Meng-Juan Sun Meng Li | 2018 | Neural Regeneration Research2018,13,9: | 9 |
| 5 | Preparation of Tolterodine Metabolite Loaded Biodegradable PLGA Microspheres显示文摘Biodegradable polymer poly(lactic-co-glycolic acid)(PLGA) was used to encapsulate the pharmacological activity metabolite of tolterodine by means of O/W emulsion solvent evaporation method via homogenization in the emulsification process. The influences of preparation parameters were investigated. The results indicate that increasing PLGA concentration from 15% to 40% made the encapsulation efficiency of 5-hydroxymethyl derivative of tolterodine(5-HMT) increased from 55.39% to 76.32%, and the particle size increased from 34.33 μm to 70.78 μm. In addition, when homogenization speed increased from 850 r/min to 2300 r/min, both particle size and encapsulation efficiency of microspheres decreased. An increase in the volume of aqueous phase led to higher encapsulation efficiency and bigger particle size. Increasing temperature made encapsulation efficiency and particle size change significantly. While reaction temperature increased from 20 °C to 50 °C, the encapsulation efficiency decreased from 70.44% to 24.07%, and particle size increased from 38.66 μm to 69.38 μm. High reaction temperature(over 40 °C) may lead to porous surface of microspheres. | 6 | Effects of water regime, crop residues, and application rates on control of Fusarium oxysporum f.sp.cubense显示文摘Biological soil disinfestation is an effective method to control soil-borne disease by flooding and incorporating with organic amendments, but field conditions and resources sometimes limited its practical application. A laboratory experiment was conducted to develop practice guidelines on controlling Fusarium wilt, a widespread banana disease caused by Fusarium oxysporum f. sp. cubense(FOC). FOC infested soil incorporated with rice or maize straw at rates of 1.5 tons/ha and 3.0 tons/ha was incubated under flooded or water-saturated(100% water holding capacity) conditions at 30℃ for 30 days. Results showed that FOC populations in the soils incorporated with either rice or maize straw rapidly reduced more than 90% in the first 15 days and then fluctuated till the end of incubation, while flooding alone without organic amendment reduced FOC populations slightly. The rapid and dramatic decrease of redox potential(down to- 350 m V) in straw-amended treatments implied that both anaerobic condition and strongly reductive soil condition would contribute to pathogen inactivation. Water-saturation combined with straw amendments had the comparable effects on reduction of FOC, indicating that flooding was not indispensable for inactivating FOC. There was no significant difference in the reduction of FOC observed in the straw amendments at between 1.5 and 3 tons/ha. | 7 | Genetic progress in stem lodging resistance of the dominant wheat cultivars adapted to Yellow-Huai River Valleys Winter Wheat Zone in China since 1964显示文摘Analysis of genetic progress for lodging-related traits provides important information for further improvement of lodging resistance.Forty winter wheat cultivars widely grown in the Yellow-Huai River Valleys Winter Wheat Zone(YHWZ)of China during the period of 1964–2015 were evaluated for several lodging-related traits in three cropping seasons.Plant height,height at center of gravity,length of the basal second internode,and lodging index decreased significantly in this period,and the average annual genetic gains for these traits were–0.50 cm or–0.62%,–0.27 cm or–0.60%,–0.06 cm or–0.63%,and–0.01 or–0.94%,respectively.Different from other traits,stem strength showed a significant increasing trend with the breeding period,and the annual genetic gains were 0.03 N or 0.05%.Correlation analysis showed that lodging index was positively correlated with plant height,height at center of gravity,and length of the basal second internode,but negatively correlated with stem strength.Meanwhile,significantly positive correlations were observed between plant height,height at center of gravity,and length of the basal first and second internodes.By comparison with the wild types,dwarfing genes had significant effects on all lodging-related traits studied except for length of the basal first internode and stem strength.Principle component analysis demonstrated that plant height and stem strength were the most important factors influencing lodging resistance.Clustering analysis based on the first two principle components further indicated the targets of wheat lodging-resistant breeding have changed from reducing plant height to strengthening stem strength over the breeding periods.This study indicates that the increase of stem strength is vital to improve lodging resistance in this region under the high-yielding condition when plant height is in an optimal range. | ZHANG Hong-jun LI Teng LIU Hong-wei MAI Chun-yan YU Guang-jun LI Hui-li YU Li-qiang MENG Ling-zhi JIAN Da-wei YANG Li LI Hong-jie ZHOU Yang | 2020 | Journal of Integrative Agriculture2020,19,2: | 7 |

| 9 | Association of genotypes of rs671 within ALDH2 with risk for gastric cardia adenocarcinoma in the Chinese Han population in high-and low-incidence areas显示文摘Objective: This study aimed to determine if gastric cardia adenocarcinoma(GCA) risk was associated with the lys(A or *2) allele at the rs671(glu504lys) polymorphism within the aldehyde dehydrogenase 2(ALDH2) gene in a Chinese Han population. We also aimed to investigate ALDH2 genotypic distributions between subjects from high- and low-incidence areas for both GCA and esophageal squamous cell carcinoma(ESCC).Methods: We designed a case-control study including 2,686 patients with GCA and 3,675 control subjects from high- and lowincidence areas for both GCA and ESCC in China. Taq Man allele discrimination assay was used to genotype the rs671 polymorphism. χ~2 test and binary logistic regression analysis were used to estimate the odds ratios for the development of GCA,and multivariate ordinal logistic regression was used to analyze ALDH2 genotypic distributions among different groups.Results: Compared with ALDH2*1/*1 homozygotes, ALDH2*1/*2 and ALDH2*2/*2 carriers did not increase the risk for GCA in the Chinese Han population(P>0.05). Interestingly, the ratio of homozygous or heterozygous ALDH2 *2 carriers in highincidence areas for both GCA and ESCC was lower than that in low-incidence areas(P<0.001).Conclusions: Genotypes of rs671 at ALDH2 may not increase GCA susceptibility in Chinese Han populations. In addition, the ALDH2 genotypic distribution differs between Chinese Han populations from high- and low-incidence areas for both GCA and ESCC. | 10 | Optimization of Fermentation Medium for Epothilones Production with Sequential Statistical Approach显示文摘A sequential statistical approach was applied to optimizing the fermentation medium of epothilones(Epos) production by means of a mutant which was obtained by treating polyangium cellulosum ATCC 15384 with nitrite and ultraviolet. The effects of different carbon sources and nitrogen sources on the fermentation medium were tested, and the suitable ones were selected. Then a uniform design was employed to design the experiments. A linear model was developed for identifying the significant components in fermentation medium, while a third degree polynomial model was used for studying the relationship between the concentration of the components in fermentation medium and the yield of Epos(YEPs). A pattern search method was used for searching the optimum fermentation medium in the test space, which was as follows(g/L): potassium nitrate 8.00, soybean peptone 17.60, potassium hydrogen phosphate 1.00, beef extraction 6.46, yeast extraction 1.00, calcium chloride 0.25, sodium chloride 1.00 and ferric chloride 0.02. The optimum fermentation medium was expected to result in a yield of Epos(YEPs) of 2.48 mg/L. | 11 | The optic nerve head perfusion and its correlation with the macular blood perfusion in unilateral idiopathic macular hole: an optical coherence tomography angiography study显示文摘AIM: To compare the optic nerve head(ONH) perfusion in both eyes of unilateral idiopathic macular hole(IMH) with normal control group by using optical coherence tomography angiography(OCTA) and investigate its correlationship with the macular blood perfusion.METHODS: We performed a prospective and crosssectional study that included 19 patients with full-thickness unilateral IMH and 24 age-and sex-matched controls. All participants received OCTA test. The ONH perfusion was evaluated by the regions of peripapillary and whole en face(the sum of peripapillary and optic disc). The potential correlationship between ONH and parafovea were implied. All the data were performed using the nonparametric test.RESULTS: The mean values of ONH presented that normal control >IMH >unaffected eyes. A statistical variation was found between three groups in the region of temporal(P=0.007). Vessel density notablely decreased on the layers of superficial, deep and choroid of parafovea region in IMH group. The correlative coefficients showed that respectively whole en face and deep retina: r=0.528, peripapillary and deep retina: r=0.525, whole en face and choriocapillaries: r=0.569, peripapillary and choriocapillaries: r=0.504.CONCLUSION: Our study demonstrate a reduced ONH vessel density in both eyes of IMH patients and the vessel density of ONH in IMH eyes are positively correlated with both the retina capillary and choriocapillary in parafoveal. | 12 | Nitrogen application and intercropping change microbial community diversity and physicochemical characteristics in mulberry and alfalfa rhizosphere soil显示文摘Intercropping of mulberry(Morus alba L.)and alfalfa(Medicago sativa L.)is a new forestry-grass compound model in China,which can provide high forage yields with high protein.Nitrogen application is one of the important factors determining the production and quality of this system.To elucidate the advantages of intercropping and nitrogen application,we analyzed the changes of physicochemical properties,enzyme activities,and microbial communities in the rhizosphere soil.We used principal components analysis(PCA)and redundancy discriminators analysis to clarify the relationships among treatments and between treatments and environmental factors,respectively.The results showed that nitrogen application significantly increased pH value,available nitrogen content,soil water content(SWC),and urea(URE)activity in rhizosphere soil of monoculture mulberry.In contrast,intercropping and intercropping+N significantly decreased pH and SWC in mulberry treatments.Nitrogen,intercropping and intercropping+N sharply reduced soil organic matter content and SWC in alfalfa treatments.Nitrogen,intercropping,and intercropping+N increased the values of McIntosh diversity(U),Simpson diversity(D),and Shannon-Weaver diversity(H’)in mulberry treatments.However,PC A scatter plots showed clustering of monoculture mulberry with nitrogen(MNE)and intercropping mulberry without nitrogen(M0).Intercropping reduced both H’and D but nitrogen application showed no effect on diversity of microbial communities in alfalfa.There were obvious differences in using the six types of carbon sources between mulberry and alfalfa treatments.Nitrogen and intercropping increased the numbers of sole carbon substrate in mulberry treatments where the relative use rate exceeded 4%.While the numbers declined in alfalfa with nitrogen and intercropping.RDA indicated that URE was positive when intercropping mulberry was treated with nitrogen,but was negative in monoculture alfalfa treated with nitrogen.Soil pH and SWC were positive with mulberry treatments but were negative with alfalfa treatments.Intercropping with alfalfa benefited mulberry in the absence of nitrogen application.Intercropping with alfalfa and nitrogen application could improve the microbial community function and diversity in rhizosphere soil of mulberry.The microbial community in rhizosphere soil of mulberry and alfalfa is strategically complementary in terms of using carbon sources. | Xiuli Zhang Zhiyuan Teng Huihui Zhang Dunjiang Cai Jingyun Zhang Fanjuan Meng Guangyu Sun | 2021 | Journal of Forestry Research2021,32,5: | 5 |

| 14 | Diabetes recurrence after metabolic surgeries correlates with re-impaired insulin sensitivity rather than beta-cell function显示文摘AIM To investigate factors causing diabetes recurrence after sleeve gastrectomy(SG)and duodenal-jejunal bypass(DJB).METHODS SG and DJB were performed on rats with diabetes induced by high-fat diet(HFD)and streptozotocin(STZ).HFD was used to induce diabetes recurrence at 4 wk postoperatively.Body weight,oral glucose tolerance test,homeostatic model assessment of insulin resistance(HOMA-IR),insulin signaling[IR,insulin receptor substrate(IRS 1,IRS2,phosphatidylinositol3-kinase and AKT in liver and skeletal muscle],oral glucose stimulated insulin secretion,beta-cell morphology(mass,apoptosis and insulin secretion),glucagon-like peptide(GLP)-1,PYY and ghrelin were compared among SG rats with common low-fat diet(SG-LFD),SG with HFD(SG-HFD),DJB rats with LFD(DJB-LFD),DJB with HFD(DJB-HFD)and shamoperation with LFD(Sham)at targeted postoperative times.RESULTS SG and DJB resulted in significant improvement in glucose tolerance,lower HOMA-IR,up-regulated hepatic and muscular insulin signaling,higher levels of oral glucose-stimulated insulin secretion,bigger betacell mass,higher immunofluorescence intensity of insulin,fewer transferase-mediated d UTP-biotin 3’nick end-labeling(TUNEL)-positive beta cells and higher postprandial GLP-1 and PYY levels than in the Sham group.The improvement in glucose tolerance was reversed at 12 wk postoperatively.Compared with the SG-LFD and DJB-LFD groups,the SG-HFD and DJB-HFD groups showed higher HOMA-IR,down-regulated hepatic and muscular insulin signaling,and more TUNEL-positive beta cells.No significant difference was detected between HFD and LFD groups for body weight,glucose-stimulated insulin secretion,betacell mass,immunofluorescence intensity of insulin,and postprandial GLP-1 and PYY levels.Fasting serum ghrelin decreased in SG groups,and there was no difference between HFD-SG and LFD-SG groups.CONCLUSION HFD reverses the improvement in glucose homeostasis after SG and DJB.Diabetes recurrence may correlate with re-impaired insulin sensitivity,but not with alterations of beta-cell function and body weight. | Teng Liu Ming-Wei Zhong Yi Liu Dong Sun Meng Wei Xin Huang Yu-Gang Cheng Qun-Zheng Wu Dong Wu Xiao-Qian Zhang Ke-Xin Wang San-Yuan Hu Shao-Zhuang Liu | 2017 | World Journal of Gastroenterology2017,23,19: | 5 |
| 15 | Isolation and Purification of Polysaccharides from Cordyceps minlitaris and Its Inhibition on the Proliferation of Rat Glomerular Mesangial Cells显示文摘The crude polysaccharide was obtained by means of the decolorization of porphyrized Cordyceps minlitaris stroma with organic solvent, extraction with hot water, precipitation in 80% ethanol, and protein removal with the Sevag method. After purification with Sephadex G-75, two of its components, CMP-1 and CMP-2, were obtained. Through the assay of gel chromatography and polarimetry, CMP-1 was identified as pure polysaccharide. The results demonstrated that CMP-1 had favorable oxidation resistance activity, which could scavenge not only oxygen-free radicals in the self-oxidation system of pyrogallic acid, but also the hydroxide-free radicals in the Fenton system. The study focused on the effects of low, medium, and high dosages of CMP-1 in rat blood serum on the proliferation of glomerular mesangial cells in vitro. Through MTT Colorimetric analysis, the activities were compared among the blank control group and the Niaoduqing positive control group CMP-1 and CMP-2. The results shows that CMP-1 was able to inhibit the proliferation of rat glomerular mesangial cells effectively. | 16 | MIMO-SAR waveforms separation based on virtual polarization filter显示文摘The unwanted coupling exists inevitably among multiple orthogonal waveforms in a same frequency area for multiple-input and multiple-output synthetic aperture radar(MIMO-SAR). In this paper, a new polarized MIMO-SAR model is established with two transmitting antennas and multiple receiving antennas at first. Then, a virtual polarization filter(VPF) is proposed to separate superposed returns caused by multiple transmitted waveforms based on detection on the polarized parameters via particle swarm optimizer(PSO).Compared with the conventional matched filter to separate the orthogonal waveforms, it is shown that the coupling noises can be significantly suppressed by the proposed VPF-based method and the orthogonality is not necessary among different transmitting waveforms. | 17 | Sphericities of non-spherical objects显示文摘Sphericity, as one of the most important shape parameter for non-spherical objects, is extensively applied in evaluating the porosity or packing density of particles. In this paper, the sphericities of common non- spherical objects are deduced and investigated. Maximum sphericities and optimum shapes of these objects are presented as well. A decreasing order of sphericity from sphere (1.0) to regular tetrahedron (0.671) for objects with constant sphericity is given. Similar trends are found in most sphericity-aspect ratio relationships, which exhibit single peak and the sphericity increases with the growth of aspect ratio before the peak point and decreases afterward. The peak loci of aspect ratio are all around 1.0 which makes the shape approaching to a sphere. | 18 | Effects of resistin-like molecule β over-expression on gastric cancer cells in vitro显示文摘AIM: To investigate the effects of resistin-like molecule β (RELMβ) over-expression on the invasion, metastasis and angiogenesis of gastric cancer cells. METHODS: Human RELMβ encoding expression vec tor was constructed and transfected into the RELMβ lowly-expressed gastric cancer cell lines SGC7901 and MKN-45. Gene expression was measured by Western blotting, reverse transcription polymerase chain reaction (PCR) and real-time quantitative PCR. Cell proliferation was measured by 2-(4,5-dimethyltriazol-2-yl)-2,5-diphenyl tetrazolium bromide colorimetry, colony formation and 5-ethynyl-20-deoxyuridine incorporation assays. The in vitro migration, invasion and metastasis of cancer cells were measured by cell adhesion assay, scratch assay and matrigel invasion assay. The angiogenic capabilities of cancer cells were measured by tube formation of endothelial cells. RESULTS: Transfection of RELMβ vector into SGC-7901 and MKN-45 cells resulted in over-expression of RELMβ, which did not infl uence the cellular proliferation. However, over-expression of RELMβ suppressed the in vitro adhesion, invasion and metastasis of cancer cells, accompanied by decreased expression of matrix metalloproteinase-2 (MMP-2) and MMP-9. Moreover, transfection of RELMβ attenuated the expression of vascular endothelial growth factor and in vitro angiogenic capabilities of cancer cells. | 19 | First-order Derivative Spectrophotometry for the Determination of Vitamin C in Medicament显示文摘A novel method for the determination of vitamin C(Vc) is proposed in this article. After the reaction with Folin-Ciocalteau reagent at ambient temperature, Vc solution was scanned at 750―1100 nm, and its first-order derivative spectrum were obtained from the original spectrum. The values of derivative selected at 995 nm were used for determination. It was proved that Vc could quickly react with Folin-Ciocalteau reagent within 5 min and the product was quite stable for a long time. The conditions required for this method is not very complicated, its precision and accuracy are similar to those of the iodometric titration described in Chinese Pharmacopoeia, and the limit of detection is 0.312 μg/mL.
