2Relative Contributions of Boundary-Layer Meteorological Factors to the Explosive Growth of PM2.5 during the Red-Alert Heavy Pollution Episodes in Beijing in December 2016显示文摘Based on observations of urban mass concentration of fine particulate matter smaller than 2.5 μm in diameter(PM_(2.5)), ground meteorological data, vertical measurements of winds, temperature, and relative humidity(RH), and ECMWF reanalysis data, the major changes in the vertical structures of meteorological factors in the boundary layer(BL) during the heavy aerosol pollution episodes(HPEs) that occurred in winter 2016 in the urban Beijing area were analyzed. The HPEs are divided into two stages: the transport of pollutants under prevailing southerly winds, known as the transport stage(TS), and the PM_(2.5) explosive growth and pollution accumulation period characterized by a temperature inversion with low winds and high RH in the lower BL, known as the cumulative stage(CS). During the TS, a surface high lies south of Beijing, and pollutants are transported northwards. During the CS, a stable BL forms and is characterized by weak winds, temperature inversion, and moisture accumulation. Stable atmospheric stratification featured with light/calm winds and accumulated moisture(RH > 80%) below 250 m at the beginning of the CS is closely associated with the inversion, which is strengthened by the considerable decrease in near-surface air temperature due to the interaction between aerosols and radiation after the aerosol pollution occurs. A significant increase in the PLAM(Parameter Linking Aerosol Pollution and Meteorological Elements) index is found, which is linearly related to PM mass change. During the first 10 h of the CS, the more stable BL contributes approximately 84% of the explosive growth of PM_(2.5) mass. Additional accumulated near-surface moisture caused by the ground temperature decrease, weak turbulent diffusion, low BL height, and inhibited vertical mixing of water vapor is conducive to the secondary aerosol formation through chemical reactions, including liquid phase and heterogeneous reactions, which further increases the PM_(2.5) concentration levels. 3Zircon U-Pb dating confirms existence of a Caledonian scheelite-bearing aplitic vein in the Penggongmiao granite batholith, South Hunan显示文摘Granite at Penggongmiao is a large batholith in the Nanling Range, with an outcrop area of over 900 km 2 . There are many scheelite-quartz veins around the granite. LA-ICP-MS U-Pb dating was carried out for zircons from the granite. The middlecoarse-grained biotite granite has U-Pb ages of 435 to 436 Ma. Ages of 426.5±2.5 Ma were obtained for aplitic dyke cross-cutting the granite. The scheelite of magmatic origin in the aplite dyke was identified from petrographic investigation. This demonstrates that W-bearing granites of Early Paleozoic (corresponding to the Caledonian orogensis in the traditional sense) occur in the Nanling Range. This finding has important implications for the ore-forming potential of Paleozoic granites and on the extent of Mesozoic mineralization. Thus it merits performing an intensive study of Paleozoic granites in South China. 5Aerosol Hygroscopicity during the Haze Red-Alert Period in December 2016 at a Rural Site of the North China Plain显示文摘A humidification system was deployed to measure aerosol hygroscopicity at a rural site of the North China Plain during the haze red-alert period 17–22 December 2016. The aerosol scattering coefficients under dry [relative humidity(RH) < 30%] and wet(RH in the range of 40%–85%) conditions were simultaneously measured at wavelengths of450, 550, and 700 nm. It is found that the aerosol scattering coefficient and backscattering coefficient increased by only 29% and 10%, respectively when RH went up from 40% to 80%, while the hemispheric backscatter fraction went down by 14%, implying that the aerosol hygroscopicity represented by the aerosol scattering enhancement factor f(RH) is relatively low and RH exerted little effects on the aerosol light scattering in this case. The scattering enhancement factors do not show significant differences at the three wavelengths, only with an approximate 2% variation, suggesting that the aerosol hygroscopicity is independent of the wavelength. Aerosol hygroscopicity is highly dependent on the aerosol chemical composition. When there is a large mass fraction of inorganics and a small mass fraction of organic matter, f(RH) reaches a high value. 6Expert Recommendations for Tracheal Intubation in Critically Ill Patients with Noval Coronavirus Disease 2019显示文摘Coronavirus Disease 2019(COVID-19),caused by a novel coronavirus(SARS-Co V-2),is a highly contagious disease.It firstly appeared in Wuhan,Hubei province of China in December 2019.During the next two months,it moved rapidly throughout China.Most of the infected patients have mild symptoms including fever,fatigue and cough,but in severe cases,patients can progress rapidly and develop into acute respiratory distress syndrome,septic shock,metabolic acidosis and coagulopathy.The new coronavirus was reported to spread via droplets,contact and natural aerosols from human to human.Therefore,aerosol-producing procedures such as endotracheal intubation may put the anesthesiologists at high risk of nosocomial infections.In fact,SARSCo V-2 infection of anesthesiologists after endotracheal intubation for confirmed COVID-19 patients have been reported in hospitals in Wuhan.The expert panel of airway management in Chinese Society of Anaesthesiology has deliberated and drafted this recommendation,by which we hope to guide the performance of endotracheal intubation by frontline anesthesiologists and critical care physicians.During the airway management,enhanced droplet/airborne personal protective equitment(PPE)should be applied to the health care providers.A good airway assessment before airway intervention is of vital importance.For patients with normal airway,awake intubation should be avoided,and modified rapid sequence induction is strongly recommended.Sufficient muscle relaxant should be assured before intubation.For patients with difficult airway,good preparation of airway devices and detailed intubation plans should be made.Mingzhang Zuo Yuguang Huang Wuhua Ma Zhanggang Xue Jiaqiang Zhang Yahong Gong Lu Che 2020Chinese Medical Sciences Journal2020,35,2:7
7Hypothalamic paraventricular nucleus stimulation reduces intestinal injury in rats with ulcerative colitis显示文摘AIM: To investigate the effect and mechanism of stimulation of the hypothalamic paraventricular nucleus with glutamate acid in rats with ulcerative colitis(UC).METHODS: The rats were anesthetized with 10% chloral hydrate via abdominal injection and treated with an equal volume of TNBS + 50% ethanol enema, injected into the upper section of the anus with the tail facing up. Colonic damage scores were calculated after injecting a certain dose of glutamic acid into the paraventricular nucleus(p VN), and the effect of the nucleus tractus solitarius(NTS) and vagus nerve in alleviating UC injury through chemical stimulation of the p VN was observed in rats. Expression changes of C-myc, Apaf-1, caspase-3, interleukin(IL)-6, and IL-17 during the protection against UC injury through chemical stimulation of the p VN in rats were detected by Western blot. Malondialdehyde(MDA) content and superoxide dismutase(SOD) activity in colon tissues of rats were measured by colorimetric methods. RESULTS: Chemical stimulation of the PVN significantly reduced UC in rats in a dose-dependent manner. The protective effects of the chemical stimulationof the p VN on rats with UC were eliminated after chemical damage to the p VN. After glutamate receptor antagonist kynurenic acid was injected into the p VN, the protective effects of the chemical stimulation of the p VN were eliminated in rats with UC. After AVpVl receptor antagonist([Deamino-penl, val4, D-Arg8]-vasopressin) was injected into NTS or bilateral chemical damage to NTS, the protective effect of the chemical stimulation of p VN on UC was also eliminated. After chemical stimulation of the p VN, SOD activity increased, MDA content decreased, C-myc protein expression significantly increased, caspase-3 and Apaf-1 protein expression significantly decreased, and IL-6 and IL-17 expression decreased in colon tissues in rats with UC. CONCLUSION: Chemical stimulation of the hypothalamic p VN provides a protective effect against UC injury in rats. 9Direct conversion of fructose-based carbohydrates to 5-ethoxymethylfurfural catalyzed by AlCl_3·6H_2O/BF_3·(Et)_2O in ethanol显示文摘Direct conversion of fructose-based carbohydrates to 5-ethoxymethylfurfural (EMF) catalyzed by Lewis acid in ethanol was investigated. It was found that BF3(Et)2O was favorable for 5-hydroxymethylfurfural (HMF) etherification to EMF. 10Generation of orthogonal UWB shaping pulses based on compressed chirp signal显示文摘This study investigates a novel method to numerically generate orthogonal ultrawide band (UWB) shaping pulses based on compressed chirp signal. First, a pulse template with less than 1 ns duration time, which is used to construct a Hermitian matrix, is produced with a compressed chirp pulse. Sub-nanosecond orthogonal pulses are then generated for UWB by using the Hermitian matrix eigenvectors. The simulation results show that the power spectral density distribution of the UWB shaping pulses met the constraint of Federal communications commissions (FCC) spectral mask. The shaping pulses not only have higher spectrum utilization ratio and very short time duration but also have excellent autocorrelation and cross-correlation properties, which is an advantage to reduce the interference between multiusers. 11Tojapride Reverses Esophageal Epithelial Inflammatory Responses on Reflux Esophagitis Model Rats显示文摘Objective To investigate the mechanism of Tojapride,a Chinese herbal formula extract,on strengthening the barrier function of esophageal epithelium in rats with reflux esophagitis(RE).Methods Ten out of 85 SD rats were randomly selected as the sham group(n10),and 75 rats were developed a reflux esophagitis model(RE)by the esophageal and duodenal side-to-side anastomosis.Fifty successful modeling rats were divided into different medicated groups through a random number table including the model,low-,medium-,and high-dose of Tojapride as well as omeprazole groups(n10).Three doses of Tojapride[5.73,11.46,22.92 g/(kg•d)]and omeprazole[4.17 mg/(kg•d)]were administrated intragastrically twice daily for 3 weeks.And the rats in the sham and model groups were administered 10 mL/kg distilled water.Gastric fluid was collected and the supernatant was kept to measure for volume,pH value and acidity.Esophageal tissues were isolated to monitor the morphological changes through hematoxylin-eosin(HE)staining,and esophageal epithelial ultrastructure was observed by transmission electron microscopy.The expressions of nuclear factor kappa-light-chain-enhancer of activated B cells p65(NF-KBp65),κB kinase beta(IKKß),occludin,and zonula occludens-1(ZO-1)in the esophageal tissues were measured by immunohistochemistry and Western blot,respectively.Results The gastric pH value in the model group was significantly lower than the sham group(P<0.05).Compared with the model group,gastric pH value in the omeprazole and medium-dose of Tojapride groups were significantly higher(P<0.05).A large area of ulceration was found on the esophageal mucosa from the model rats,while varying degrees of congestion and partially visible erosion was observed in the remaining groups.Remarkable increase in cell gap width and decrease in desmosome count was seen in RE rats and the effect was reversed by Tojapride treatment.Compared with the sham group,the IKKßlevels were significantly higher in the model group(P<0.05).However,the IKKßlevels were down-regulated after treatment by all doses of Tojapride(P<0.01 or P<0.05).The occluding and ZO-1 levels decreased in the model group compared with the sham group(Ps0.01 or Ps0.05),while both indices were significantly up-regulated in the Tojapride-treated groups(P<0.01 or P<0.05).Conclusions Tojapride could improve the pathological conditions of esophageal epithelium in RE rats.The underlying mechanisms may involve in down-regulating the IKKßexpression and elevating ZO-1 and occludin expression,thereby alleviating the inflammation of the esophagus and strengthening the barrier function of the esophageal epithelium.YIN Xiao-lan ZHONG Linda LIN Cheng-yuan SHI Xiao-shuang ZHANG Jiao CHEN Zheng-yi CHE Hui MA Xiang-xue TIAN Ya-xin DUAN Yuan-zhi LU Lin Jl Hai-jie ZHAO Ying-pan TANG Xu-dong WANG Feng-yun 2021Chinese Journal of Integrative Medicine2021,27,8:4
12Tyroserleutide tripeptide affects calcium homeostasis of human hepatocarcinoma BEL-7402 cells显示文摘This study aimed to observe the effects of tyroserleutide (tyrosyl-seryl-leucine, YSL) on the growth of human hepatocarcinoma BEL-7402 that was transplanted into nude mice, and explore its anti-tumor mechanism preliminarily. YSL, at doses of 80 μg·kg?1·d?1, 160 μg·kg?1·d?1 and 320 μg·kg?1·d?1 significantly inhibited the growth of the human hepatocarcinoma BEL-7402 tumor in nude mice, producing inhibition of 21.66%, 41.34%, and 34.78%, respectively. Ultra structure of BEL-7402 tumor in nude mice showed that YSL could induce tumor cells apoptosis and necrosis, cell organelle mitochondria and endoplasmic reticulum damage, and calcium over-load. By confocal laser scanning microscopy and flow cytometry, we found that 10 μg/mL YSL rapidly induced an increase of the concentration of cytoplasmic free calcium in BEL-7402 cells in vitro, and maintained high concentrations of cytoplasmic free calcium for 1 h. Then the calcium concentration began to decrease after 2 h, and was lower than that of the control group at 4 h and 24 h (p<0.05). YSL also decreased the mitochondrial transmembrane potential of BEL-7402 cells in vitro, but had no effect on the calcium homeostasis or mitochondrial transmembrane potential of Chang liver hepatocytes. 14Role of silicon in steels on galvanized coatings显示文摘In this article,five kinds of silicon-containing steel sheets have been electrodeposited,and then immersed in a pure molten zinc bath at 450 °C for various periods of time.The results by scanning electron microscopy(SEM) show that the coating of the sam-ple(0.09 wt pct Si) with iron-electrodeposited pretreatment eliminates the reactive zones which are found in the coating without iron-electrodeposited pretreatment.The galvanized sample(0.28 wt pct Si) with iron-electrodeposited pretreatment exhibits a compact and coherent coating.The coating of the sample(0.37 wt pct Si) with the iron-electrodeposited pretreatment experiences a transition from a compact and coherent coating to a reactive one.The energy dispersive spectrum(EDS) results reveal that for the galvanized samples with iron-electrodeposited pretreatment,ex-cessive silicon accumulates on the surface of the substrate due to the low solubility of silicon in the Γ,after the iron layer is depleted by the increasing growth of the Fe-Zn intermetallics.With the movement of the substrate/Γ interface toward the substrate,silicon-enriched α-Fe peels off from the substrate and breaks into the particles.The particles move toward the δ layer through the Γ layer because silicon-enriched α-Fe cannot be absorbed in the Γ layer.When the particles reach the δ/Γ interface,they are dissolved in the δ layer,making the Γ layer thin or even vanish.Chunshan CHE Jintang LU Gang KONG Qiaoyu XU 2009Acta Metallurgica Sinica(English Letters)2009,22,2:3
15Design and optimization of low-energy transfer orbit to Mars with multi-body environment显示文摘This paper discusses the problem of design and optimization of low-energy transfer orbit with multi-body environment. A new integrative method is proposed to effectively solve the problem, in which the parameterized patched manifolds in CR3BP(circular restricted three-body problems), the shape-based method with multi-body environment, the homotopic method with multi-body environment, and the low-thrust capturing and descending algorithm with multi-body environment are all included. Firstly, the parameters describing the patched manifolds in CR3 BP are optimized until the least total absolute velocity increment has been got, including the employment of the shape-based method with multi-body environment. Secondly, the low-thrust control laws of the transfer orbit are optimized employing the homotopic method with multi-body environment that transfers the fuel optimization problem to an easier energy optimization problem. Thirdly, the low-thrust descending orbit around Mars is computed using the laws proposed in this paper. As a typical example, the Earth-Mars transfer orbit design is discussed. The results showed that the parameters describing the patched manifolds could be optimized by the DE(differential evolution) algorithm effectively; the homotopic method with multi-body environment could get the optimal value that meets the first order optimality conditions; and the low-thrust descending orbit could effectively be captured by Mars and finally become a circular parking orbit around it by the hypothesis control laws proposed in this paper. It shows that the final fuel cost is much less than the optimal transfer in the patched two-body problems. 16Herpetological phylogeographic analyses support a Miocene focal point of Himalayan uplift and biological diversification显示文摘The Himalaya are among the youngest and highest mountains in the world,but the exact timing of their uplift and origins of their biodiversity are still in debate.The Himalayan region is a relatively small area but with exceptional diversity and endemism.One common hypothesis to explain the rich montane diversity is uplift-driven diversification—that orogeny creates conditions favoring rapid in situ speciation of resident lineages.We test this hypothesis in the Himalayan region using amphibians and reptiles,two environmentally sensitive vertebrate groups.In addition,analysis of diversification of the herpetofauna provides an independent source of information to test competing geological hypotheses of Himalayan orogenesis.We conclude that the origins of the Himalayan herpetofauna date to the early Paleocene,but that diversification of most groups was concentrated in the Miocene.There was an increase in both rates and modes of diversification during the early to middle Miocene,together with regional interchange(dispersal)between the Himalaya and adjacent regions.Our analyses support a recently proposed stepwise geological model of Himalayan uplift beginning in the Paleocene,with a subsequent rapid increase of uplifting during the Miocene,finally giving rise to the intensification of the modern South Asian Monsoon.Wei Xu Wen-Jie Dong Ting-Ting Fu Wei Gao Chen-Qi Lu Fang Yan Yun-He Wu Ke Jiang Jie-Qiong Jin Hong-Man Chen Ya-Ping Zhang David M.Hillis Jing Che 2021National Science Review2021,8,9:3

20Tunable tribological properties in water-based lubrication of water-soluble fullerene derivatives via varying terminal groups显示文摘In this paper,three kinds of water-soluble fullerene derivatives were synthesized via electrophilic addition reaction and cycloaddition reaction,respectively.The chemical composition characterizations of these derivatives indicated the successful preparation of C60(OH)x,C60(C(COOH)2)x and C60(OH)x(NHCH2COOH)y fullerene derivatives.The aggregation and morphology characterizations showed that the three kinds of derivatives had an ideal spherical aggregating structures and excellent dispersibility in water,especially C60(OH)x and C60(C(COOH)2) x.The lubrication performance of the fullerene derivatives acted as lubricant additives were investigated at different concentrations in the range of 0-1 wt%.The results indicated that the addition of polyhydroxyl and carboxylic derivatives could improve the lubrication properties,which led to the reduction of wear to about 40% at most.It is attributed that the optimized substitutions of fullerene molecules may be of benefit to their distribution properties and lubricating behaviors in water based lubrication.LIU YuHong LIU PengXiao CHE Lu SHU ChunYing LU XinChun 2012Chinese Science Bulletin2012,57,35:3
