| 1 | Sediment Transport in the Nearshore Area of Phoenix Island显示文摘Based on the measured data, suspended sediment concentration, surface sediment grain size, current and waves, the sediment transport mechanisms and pathways in the Phoenix Island area were analyzed using methods of flux decomposition and Grain Size Trend Analysis(GSTA). The results show that net suspended sediment is mainly transported by average current, Stokes drift, and gravitational circulation. The transport direction of suspended sediment is varying and basically following the direction of residual tidal currents. Surface sediment transport pathways are primarily parallel to the coastline along with two convergent centers. Waves and longshore currents have a significant influence on sediment transport, but the influence is limited due to a steep and deep underwater bank. Tidal current is the main controlling factor for sediment transport, especially in the deep water area. Neither suspended nor surface sediment is transported towards the southwest. | 2 | Suspended Sediment Transport and Deposition in the Zhoushan Archipelago Sea Area显示文摘The transport mechanism and settlement characteristics of suspended sediments are analyzed in this article on the basis of measured data. Results indicate that the concentration and flux of suspended sediments decrease sharply from Hangzhou Bay to the offshore area. Suspended sediment transport is mainly controlled by advection transport and gravitational circulation transport. The settling velocity of suspended sediments gradually decreases from Hangzhou Bay to the offshore area. | 3 | miR-888 in MCF-7 Side Population Sphere Cells Directly Targets E-cadherin显示文摘Side population(SP) cells are a small subset of cells isolated from a cultured cancer cell line that exhibit characteristics similar to those of cancer stem cells(CSCs), such as high metastatic and tumorigenic potential. The molecular mechanisms that give rise to the malignant properties of SP cells are not clear. We isolated SP cells from the MCF-7 breast cancer cell line and profiled microRNA(miRNA)expression patterns between SP cell-derived spheroids and non-SP cells. SP spheroids were found to possess 42 up-regulated miRNAs and27 down-regulated ones(above 5-fold changes). One of the up-regulated miRNAs, miR-888 computationally predicted to participate in the adherens junction(AJ) pathway, was investigated. Over-expression of miR-888 in MCF-7 cells reduced the mRNA levels of all four AJ pathway genes(E-cadherin, ACTG1, PTPRT and CDC42) that were selected for testing, whereas knocking down miR-888 reversed the trends. Western blot and flow cytometric quantitation of the membrane E-cadherin levels showed the same trend of change under these treatments. Luciferase reporter assay showed E-cadherin is a direct target of miR-888. | 4 | Beach Morphology and Coastline Evolution in the Southern Bohai Strait显示文摘The beach studied in this paper spans a length of 51 km and is one of several long sandy beaches in the southern Bohai Strait. Due to the obstruction of islands in the northeast and the influence of the underwater topography, the wave environment in the offshore area is complex; beach types and sediment transport characteristics vary along different coasts. The coastlines extracted from six aerial photographs in different years were compared to demonstrate the evolving features. Seven typical beach profiles were selected to study the lateral beach variation characteristics. Continuous wind and wave observation data from Beihuangcheng ocean station during 2009 were employed for the hindcast of the local wave environment using a regional spectral wave model. Then the results of the wave hindcast were incorporated into the LITDRIFT model to compute the sediment transport rates and directions along the coasts and analyze the longshore sand movement. The results show that the coastline evolution of sand beaches in the southern Bohai Strait has spatial and temporal variations and the coast can be divided into four typical regions. Region(I), the north coast of Qimudao, is a slightly eroded and dissipative beach with a large sediment transport rate; Region(II), the southwest coast of Gangluan Port, is a slightly deposited and dissipative beach with moderate sediment transport rate; Region(III), in the central area, is a beach that is gradually transformed from a slightly eroded dissipative beach to a moderately or slightly strong eroded bar-trough beach from west to east with a relatively moderate sediment transport rate. Region(IV), on the east coast, is a strongly eroded and reflective beach with a weak sediment transport rate. The wave conditions exhibit an increasing trend from west to east in the offshore area. The distribution of the wave-induced current inside the wave breaking region and the littoral sediment transport in the nearshore region exhibit a gradual weakening tendency from west to east, which is opposite to the trend of the wave conditions outside the breaking region. The presence of submerged shoal(Dengzhou Shoal), deep trough(Dengzhou Channel), islands and irregular topography influnces the wave climate, beach types, wave-induced current features, littoral sediment transport trends and coastline evolution patterns in the southern Bohai Strait. | 5 | A nanotheranostic agent based on Nd^(3+)-doped YVO_(4) with blood-brain-barrier permeability for NIR-Ⅱ fluorescence imaging/magnetic resonance imaging and boosted sonodynamic therapy of orthotopic glioma显示文摘The specific diagnosis and treatment of gliomas is a primary challenge in clinic due to their high invasiveness and blood-brain barrier(BBB)obstruction.It is highly desirable to find a multifunctional agent with good BBB penetration for precise theranostics.Herein,we design and construct a core-shell structured nanotheranostic agent(YVO_(4):Nd^(3+)-HMME@MnO_(2)-LF,marked as YHM)with YVO_(4)∶Nd^(3+) particles as the core and MnO_(2) nanosheets as the shell.Sonosensitizer hematoporphyrinmonomethyl ether(HMME)and lactoferrin(LF)were further loaded and modified on the surface,giving it a good ability to cross the BBB,near-infrared fluorescence imaging in the second window(NIR-Ⅱ)/magnetic resonance imaging(MRI)bimodality,and highly efficient sonodynamic therapy(SDT)of orthotopic gliomas.The YVO_(4):Nd^(3+)(25%)core exhibited good NIR-Ⅱ fluorescence properties,enabling YHM to act as promising probes for NIR-Ⅱ fluorescence imaging of vessels and orthotopic gliomas.MnO_(2) shell can not only provide O2 in the tumor microenvironments(TME)to significantly improve the healing efficacy of SDT,but also release Mn^(2+) ions to achieve T1-weight MRI in situ.Non-invasive SDT can effectively restrain tumor growth.This work not only demonstrates that multifunctional YHM is promising for diagnosis and treatment of orthotopic glioma,but also provides insights into exploring the theranostic agents based on rare earth-doped yttrium vanadate nanoparticles. | Zhijia Lv Longhai Jin Yue Cao Hao Zhang Dongzhi Xue Na Yin Tianqi Zhang Yinghui Wang Jianhua Liu Xiaogang Liu Hongjie Zhang | 2022 | Light(Science & Applications)2022,11,6: | 3 |

| 7 | Sandwiching Sulfur into the Dents Between N,O Co-Doped Graphene Layered Blocks with Strong Physicochemical Confinements for Stable and High-Rate Li-S Batteries显示文摘The development of lithium-sulfur batteries(LSBs)is restricted by their poor cycle stability and rate performance due to the low conductivity of sulfur and severe shuttle effect.Herein,an N,O co-doped graphene layered block(NOGB)with many dents on the graphene sheets is designed as effective sulfur host for high-performance LSB s.The sulfur platelets are physically confined into the dents and closely contacted with the graphene scaffold,ensuring structural stability and high conductivity.The highly doped N and O atoms can prevent the shuttle effect of sulfur species by strong chemical adsorption.Moreover,the micropores on the graphene sheets enable fast Li^+transport through the blocks.As a result,the obtained NOGB/S composite with 76 wt%sulfur content shows a high capacity of 1413 mAh g^-1 at 0.1 C,good rate performance of 433 mAh g^-1 at 10 C,and remarkable stability with 526 mAh g^-1 at after 1000 cycles at 1 C(average decay rate:0.038%per cycle).Our design provides a comprehensive route for simultaneously improving the conductivity,ion transport kinetics,and preventing the shuttle effect in LSBs. | Mengjiao Shi Su Zhang Yuting Jiang Zimu Jiang Longhai Zhang Jin Chang Tong Wei Zhuangjun Fan | 2020 | Nano-Micro Letters2020,12,11: | 3 |
