1Probabilistic small signal stability analysis of power system with wind power and photovoltaic power based on probability collocation method显示文摘Recently, with increasing improvements in the penetration of wind power and photovoltaic power in the world, probabilistic small signal stability analysis(PSSSA) of a power system consisting of multiple types of renewable energy has become a key problem. To address this problem, this study proposes a probabilistic collocation method(PCM)-based PSSSA for a power system consisting of wind farms and photovoltaic farms. Compared with the conventional Monte Carlo method, the proposed method meets the accuracy and precision requirements and greatly reduces the computation; therefore, it is suitable for the PSSSA of this power system. Case studies are conducted based on a 4-machine 2-area and New England systems, respectively. The simulation results show that, by reducing synchronous generator output to improve the penetration of renewable energy, the probabilistic small signal stability(PSSS) of the system is enhanced. 2Varicella-zoster virus ORF7 interacts with ORF53 and plays a role in its trans-Golgi network localization显示文摘Varicella-zoster virus(VZV) is a neurotropic alphaherpesvirus that causes chickenpox and shingles. ORF7 is an important virulence determinant of VZV in both human skin and nerve tissues,however, its specific function and involved molecular mechanism in VZV pathogenesis remain largely elusive. Previous yeast two-hybrid studies on intraviral protein-protein interaction network in herpesviruses have revealed that VZV ORF7 may interact with ORF53, which is a virtually unstudied but essential viral protein. The aim of this study is to identify and characterize VZV ORF53, and to investigate its relationship with ORF7. For this purpose, we prepared monoclonal antibodies against ORF53 and, for the first time, characterized it as a ~40 k Da viral protein predominantly localizing to the trans-Golgi network of the infected host cell. Next, we further confirmed the interaction between ORF7 and ORF53 by co-immunoprecipitation and co-localization studies in both plasmid-transfected and VZV-infected cells. Moreover, interestingly, we found that ORF53 lost its trans-Golgi network localization and became dispersed in the cytoplasm of host cells infected with an ORF7-deleted recombinant VZV, and thus ORF7 seems to play a role in normal subcellular localization of ORF53. 4Existing tests vs. novel non-invasive assays for detection of invasive aspergillosis in patients with respiratory diseases显示文摘Background: Although existing mycological tests (bronchoalveolar lavage [BAL] galactomannan [GM], serum GM, serum (1,3)-β-D-glucan [BDG], and fungal culture) are widely used for diagnosing invasive pulmonary aspergillosis (IPA) in non-hematological patients with respiratory diseases, their clinical utility in this large population is actually unclear. We aimed to resolve this clinical uncertainty by evaluating the diagnostic accuracy and utility of existing tests and explore the efficacy of novel sputum-basedAspergillus assays.Methods: Existing tests were assessed in a prospective and consecutive cohort of patients with respiratory diseases in West China Hospital between 2016 and 2019 while novel sputum assays (especially sputum GM andAspergillus-specific lateral-flow device [LFD]) in a case-controlled subcohort. IPA was defined according to the modified European Organization for Research and Treatment of Cancer/Mycoses Study Group criteria. Sensitivity and specificity were computed for each test and receiver operating characteristic (ROC) curve analysis was performed.Results: The entire cohort included 3530 admissions (proven/probable IPA=66, no IPA=3464) and the subcohort included 127 admissions (proven/probable IPA=38, no IPA=89). Sensitivity of BAL GM (≥1.0 optical density index [ODI]: 86% [24/28]) was substantially higher than that of serum GM (≥0.5 ODI: 38% [39/102]) (χ^(2)=19.83,P<0.001), serum BDG (≥70 pg/mL: 33% [31/95]) (χ^(2)=24.65,P<0.001), and fungal culture (33% [84/253]) (χ^(2)=29.38,P<0.001). Specificity varied between BAL GM (≥1.0 ODI: 94% [377/402]), serum GM (≥0.5 ODI: 95% [2130/2248]), BDG (89% [1878/2106]), and culture (98% [4936/5055]). Sputum GM (≥2.0 ODI) had similar sensitivity (84% [32/38]) (Fisher’s exactP=1.000) to and slightly lower specificity (87% [77/89]) (χ^(2)=5.52,P=0.019) than BAL GM (≥1.0 ODI). Area under the ROC curve values were comparable between sputum GM (0.883 [0.812-0.953]) and BAL GM (0.901 [0.824-0.977]) (P=0.734). Sputum LFD had similar specificity (91% [81/89]) (χ^(2)=0.89,P=0.345) to and lower sensitivity (63% [24/38]) (χ^(2)=4.14,P=0.042) than BAL GM (≥1.0 ODI), but significantly higher sensitivity than serum GM (≥0.5 ODI) (χ^(2)=6.95,P=0.008), BDG (χ^(2)=10.43,P=0.001), and fungal culture (χ^(2)=12.70,P<0.001).Conclusions: Serum GM, serum BDG, and fungal culture lack sufficient sensitivity for diagnosing IPA in respiratory patients. 5A large‐scalable spraying‐spinning process for multifunctional electronic yarns显示文摘Electronic fibers/textiles have great potential for applications in smart wearables due to their excellent flexibility,air permeability,and wearing comfort.However,it is still challenging to produce reliable electronic textiles at low cost and in a large scale.Herein,we report a spraying‐spinning process for fabricating electronic yarns with excellent stability and durability.Cotton sliver,which is the raw material for spinning conventional cotton yarns,was spray coated with carbon nanotubes(CNTs)and spun on an Ag@nylon yarn,forming a sheath‐core structured CNT@cotton‐Ag@nylon yarn(CCAY).The process is continuous,large‐scalable,applicable to other raw fiber materials and compatible with traditional textile processes.The as‐prepared CCAY showed superior mechanical durability,washability,and conductivity to typical surface coated yarns.It can be easily processed or integrated into textiles through weaving,knitting,sewing,and embroidering.We systematically studied the electromechanical,electro‐thermal,and photothermal performance of CCAY based yarns/fabrics,demonstrating its versatile applications in smart textiles.In addition,CCAY can be further equipped with other features,such as electro‐thermochromic functions,pH sensing and flame resistant abilities.Considering the large‐scalability,versatility,and low‐cost,we foresee that this spraying‐spinning process for electronic yarns may play important roles in the development of practical smart fibers/textiles.Linli Gan Zhen Zeng Haojie Lu Daiqi Li Ke Wei Guangming Cai Yingying Zhang 2023SmartMat2023,4,2:0
6Tumor-associated microbiota in colorectal cancer with vascular tumor thrombus and neural invasion and association with clinical prognosis显示文摘Neural invasion(NI)and vascular tumor thrombus(VT)are associated with poor prognosis in patients with colorectal cancer(CRC).In this study,we apply 16S rRNA amplicon sequencing to tumor tissues and adjacent normal tissues in patients with CRC to determine the microbial differences.A discovery cohort,including 30 patients with NI,23 with VT,and 35 with double-negative CRC tissue,is utilized.Then,we analyze the relationship between the specific bacterial taxa and indicators of different dimensions in separate cohorts.In the discovery cohort,the diversity and composition of the gut microbiome distinctly differ between the tumor and nontumor tissues in the NI and VT groups.A high abundance of Cupriavidus is found to be related to a short survival time of NI CRC,while Herbaspirillum is a potential microbial biomarker predicting the prognosis of patients with CRC with NI or VT.Moreover,the abundance of Cupriavidus or Herbaspirillum is associated with some clinical patient characteristics and prognosis,respectively.In conclusion,this study is the first to comprehensively elaborate the differences in the gut microbiota of patients with CRC with different invasion statuses and to prove the relationship between some gut microbiota and clinical patient characteristics.Mingjie Li Min Jin Lei Zhao Dandan Yu Yan Li Linli Shi Bin Zhou Li Liu Yinghao Cao Kailin Cai Jun Fan Xiu Nie Tao Zhang Hongli Liu 2024Acta Biochimica et Biophysica Sinica2024,56,3:0
7SBC(Sanhuang Xiexin Tang combined with Baihu Tang plus Cangzhu)alleviates NAFLD by enhancing mitochondrial biogenesis and ameliorating inflammation in obese patients and mice显示文摘In the context of non-alcoholic fatty liver disease (NAFLD), characterized by dysregulated lipid metabolism in hepatocytes, the quest for safe and effective therapeutics targeting lipid metabolism has gained paramount importance. Sanhuang Xiexin Tang (SXT) and Baihu Tang (BHT) have emerged as prominent candidates for treating metabolic disorders. SXT combined with BHT plus Cangzhu (SBC) has been used clinically for Weihuochisheng obese patients. This retrospective analysis focused on assessing the anti-obesity effects of SBC in Weihuochisheng obese patients. We observed significant reductions in body weight and hepatic lipid content among obese patients following SBC treatment. To gain further insights, we investigated the effects and underlying mechanisms of SBC in HFD-fed mice. The results demonstrated that SBC treatment mitigated body weight gain and hepatic lipid accumulation in HFD-fed mice. Pharmacological network analysis suggested that SBC may affect lipid metabolism, mitochondria, inflammation, and apoptosis—a hypothesis supported by the hepatic transcriptomic analysis in HFD-fed mice treated with SBC. Notably, SBC treatment was associated with enhanced hepatic mitochondrial biogenesis and the inhibition of the c-Jun N-terminal kinase (JNK)/nuclear factor-kappa B (NF-κB) and extracellular signal-regulated kinase (ERK)/NF-κB pathways. In conclusion, SBC treatment alleviates NAFLD in both obese patients and mouse models by improving lipid metabolism, potentially through enhancing mitochondrial biogenesis.
