1The rice OsV4 encoding a novel pentatricopeptide repeat protein is required for chloroplast development during the early leaf stage under cold stress显示文摘Pentatricopeptide repeat(PPR)proteins,characterized by tandem arrays of a 35 amino acid motif,have been suggested to play central and broad roles in modulating the expression of organelle genes in plants.However,the molecular mechanisms of most rice PPR genes remains unclear.In this paper,we isolated and characterized a temperature-conditional virescent mutant,OsV4,in rice(Oryza sativa cultivar Jiahua1(WT,japonica rice variety)).The mutant displays albino phenotype and abnormal chloroplasts at the three leaf stage,which gradually turns green after the four leaf stage at a low temperature(20°C).But the mutant always develops green leaves and well-developed chloroplasts at a high temperature(32°C).Genetic and molecular analyses uncovered that OsV4 encodes a novel chloroplast-targeted PPR protein including four PPR motifs.Further investigations show that the mutant phenotype is associated with changes in chlorophyll content and chloroplast development.The OsV4transcripts only accumulate to high levels in young leaves,indicating that its expression is tissue-specific.In addition,transcript levels of some ribosomal components and plastid-encoded polymerase-dependent genes are dramatically reduced in the albino mutants grown at 20°C.These findings suggest that OsV4 plays an important role during early chloroplast development under cold stress in rice.Xiaodi Gong Qianqian Su Dongzhi Lin Quan Jiang Jianlong Xu Jianhui Zhang Sheng Teng Yanjun Dong 2014Journal of Integrative Plant Biology2014,56,4:19
2The δ^(18)O variation of a stalagmite from Qixing Cave,Guizhou Province and indi-cated climate change during the Holocene显示文摘A stalagmite from Qixing Cave, Guizhou Province was dated with the TIMS U-series method and its oxygen isotope composition was analyzed. On the basis of the ages and the variations of the δ18O of the stalagmite, the climate change of the last 7.7 ka has been reconstructed in this area: 7.7-5.8 ka, summer monsoon maximum period; 5.8-3.8 ka summer monsoon weakening period; 3.8-0.15 ka, weakened summer monsoon and high amplitude climate fluctuations period. We put forward that the increasing trend of δ18O of the stalagmite reflected not only the weakening of the summer monsoon, which was caused by the decreasing of solar radiation in the Northern Hemisphere, but also the possibly decreasing contribution of the southwest monsoon to the rainfall of this area. These results are consistent with the output of the numerical climate-model modeling. 4Incidence and mortality of primary bone cancers in China, 2014显示文摘Objective: In this study, we aimed to estimate the updated incidence and mortality of primary bone cancers based on population-based cancer registration data in 2014, collected by the National Central Cancer Registry of China(NCCRC).Methods: In 2017, 339 registries' data were qualified based on data quality criteria set down by the NCCRC.Cases of primary bone cancers were retrieved from the national database. We estimated numbers of primary bone cancer cases and deaths in China using age-specific rates and corresponding national population stratified by area,sex, age-group(0, 1-4, 5-9, 10-14, …, 85+). Chinese standard population in 2000 and Segi's World population were applied for the calculation of age-standardized incidence and mortality rates.Results: In 2014, 24,000 primary bone cancer cases and 17,200 deaths attributable to primary bone cancers were estimated to have occurred in China. The crude incidence rate of primary bone cancers was 1.76/100,000, with agestandardized incidence rate by Chinese standard population(ASIRC) and by World standard population(ASIRW)being 1.35/100,000 and 1.32/100,000, respectively. The crude mortality rate of primary bone cancers was1.26/100,000, with age-standardized mortality rate by Chinese standard population(ASMRC) and by World standard population(ASMRW) being 0.88/100,000 and 0.86/100,000, respectively. Age-specific incidence curve was bimodally distributed with age, with the first peak occurring in the second decade of the life and the second peak in the elderly. Males had higher crude and age-standardized rates for both incidence and mortality compared with females. Both crude and age-standardized incidence rates were higher in rural areas than in urban areas, so were the crude and age-standardized mortality rates.Conclusions: This population-based study presents the most recently available estimates on primary bone cancers in China, revealing that the males are 1.34 times as much as females suffering from primary bone cancers and the adolescents in puberty and the elderly are predominantly affected groups by these cancers. 5A method for the production and expedient screening of CRISPR/Cas9-mediated non-transgenic mutant plants显示文摘Developing CRISPR/Cas9-mediated non-transgenic mutants in asexually propagated perennial crop plants is challenging but highly desirable.Here,we report a highly useful method using an Agrobacterium-mediated transient CRISPR/Cas9 gene expression system to create non-transgenic mutant plants without the need for sexual segregation.We have also developed a rapid,cost-effective,and high-throughput mutant screening protocol based on Illumina sequencing followed by high-resolution melting(HRM)analysis.Using tetraploid tobacco as a model species and the phytoene desaturase(PDS)gene as a target,we successfully created and expediently identified mutant plants,which were verified as tetra-allelic mutants.We produced pds mutant shoots at a rate of 47.5%from tobacco leaf explants,without the use of antibiotic selection.Among these pds plants,17.2%were confirmed to be non-transgenic,for an overall non-transgenic mutation rate of 8.2%.Our method is reliable and effective in creating non-transgenic mutant plants without the need to segregate out transgenes through sexual reproduction.This method should be applicable to many economically important,heterozygous,perennial crop species that are more difficult to regenerate.Longzheng Chen Wei Li Lorenzo Katin-Grazzini Jing Ding Xianbin Gu Yanjun Li Tingting Gu Ren Wang Xinchun Lin Ziniu Deng Richard J.McAvoy Frederick G.Gmitter Jr. Zhanao Deng Yunde Zhao Yi Li 2018Horticulture Research2018,5,1:12
6Cancer incidence and mortality in Guangdong province,2012显示文摘Objective: To estimate the cancer incidence and mortality in 2012 in Guangdong province by analyzing the cancer data of selected population-based cancer registries in Guangdong province in 2012.Methods: Eight of nine population-based cancer registries submitted cancer data to the Guangdong Provincial Centre for Disease Control and Prevention(Guangdong CDC), whose data met the data quality criteria were included for analysis. The statistics of selected registries, stratified by areas, gender, age and cancer types, were used to estimate the cancer incidence and mortality in 2012 in Guangdong province according to the population data in Guangdong province. Segi's population and the national census population in 2000 were used for calculating the age-standardized rates(ASR). Results: A total of 15,084,942 people, accounted for 17.47% of all population in Guangdong province, were covered in 8 selected population-based cancer registries in 2012. The percentage of cases morphologically verified(MV%) and the percentage of death certificate-only cases(DCO%) were 72.84% and 0.87%, respectively, and the mortality/incidence(M/I) ratio was 0.56. It was estimated that there were 211,300 new cancer cases and 117,300 cancer deaths. The incidence crude rate(CR), the ASR by Chinese standard population(ASRC) and by world standard population(ASRW), and the accumulated rate(AR)(0-74 years) were 250.20/100,000(265.39/100,000 in males, 234.29/100,000 in females), 207.04/100,000, 201.34/100,000 and 22.91%, respectively, in Guangdong province in 2012. The incidence CR and ASRC were 267.25/100,000 and 221.43/100,000 in urban areas, and 215.51/100,000 and 178.77/100,000 in rural areas, respectively. The death CR, ASRC, ASRW and AR(0-74 years) were 148.44/100,000(190.95/100,000 in males, 105.06/100,000 in females), 103.73/100,000, 102.44/100,000 and 11.68%, respectively, in Guangdong province in 2012. The death CR and ASRC were 164.57/100,000 and 105.46/100,000 in urban areas, and 124.63/100,000 and 99.97/100,000 in rural areas, respectively. Top 5 cancers were lung cancer, liver cancer, female breast cancer, colon cancer and nasopharyngeal cancers(NPC), and top 5 death cancers were lung cancer, liver cancer, colon cancer, stomach cancer, and NPC in Guangdong province in 2012.Conclusions: Lung cancer, liver cancer, female breast cancer, colon cancer and NPC were the major economic cancer burdens and health concerns in Guangdong province in 2012. 7A Simple Deep Learning Network for Classification of 3D Mobile LiDAR Point Clouds显示文摘Automatic and accurate classification is a fundamental problem to the analysis and modeling of LiDAR(Light Detection and Ranging)data.Recently,convolutional neural network(ConvNet or CNN)has achieved remarkable performance in image recognition and computer vision.While significant efforts have also been made to develop various deep networks for satellite image scene classification,it still needs to further investigate suitable deep learning network frameworks for 3D dense mobile laser scanning(MLS)data.In this paper,we present a simple deep CNN for multiple object classification based on multi-scale context representation.For the pointwise classification,we first extracted the neighboring points within spatial context and transformed them into a three-channel image for each point.Then,the classification task can be treated as the image recognition using CNN.The proposed CNN architecture adopted common convolution,maximum pooling and rectified linear unit(ReLU)layers,which combined multiple deeper network layers.After being trained and tested on approximately seven million labeled MLS points,the deep CNN model can classify accurately into nine classes.Comparing with the widely used ResNet algorithm,this model performs better precision and recall rates,and less processing time,which indicated the significant potential of deep-learning-based methods in MLS data classification.Yanjun WANG Shaochun LI Mengjie WANG Yunhao LIN 2021Journal of Geodesy and Geoinformation Science2021,4,3:8
8Toripalimab plus chemotherapy as second-line treatment in previously EGFR-TKI treated patients with EGFR-mutant-advanced NSCLC:a multicenter phase-II trial显示文摘This multicenter phase-II trial aimed to investigate the efficacy,safety,and predictive biomarkers of toripalimab plus chemotherapy as second-line treatment in patients with EGFR-mutant-advanced NSCLC.Patients who failed from first-line EGFR-TKIs and did not harbor T790M mutation were enrolled.Toripalimab plus carboplatin and pemetrexed were administrated every three weeks for up to six cycles,followed by the maintenance of toripalimab and pemetrexed.The primary endpoint was objective-response rate(ORR).Integrated biomarker analysis of PD-L1 expression,tumor mutational burden(TMB),CD8+tumor-infiltrating lymphocyte(TIL)density,whole-exome,and transcriptome sequencing on tumor biopsies were also conducted.Forty patients were enrolled with an overall ORR of 50.0%and disease-control rate(DCR)of 87.5%.The median progression free survival(PFS)and overall survival were 7.0 and 23.5 months,respectively.The most common treatment-related adverse effects were leukopenia,neutropenia,anemia,ALT/AST elevation,and nausea.Biomarker analysis showed that none of PD-L1 expression,TMB level,and CD8+TIL density could serve as a predictive biomarker.Integrated analysis of whole-exome and transcriptome sequencing data revealed that patients with DSPP mutation had a decreased M2 macrophage infiltration and associated with longer PFS than those of wild type.Toripalimab plus chemotherapy showed a promising anti-tumor activity with acceptable safety profiles as the second-line setting in patients with EGFR-mutant NSCLC.DSPP mutation might serve as a potential biomarker for this combination.A phase-III trial to compare toripalimab versus placebo in combination with chemotherapy in this setting is ongoing(NCT03924050).Tao Jiang Pingyang Wang Jie Zhang Yanqiu Zhao Jianying Zhou Yun Fan Yongqian Shu Xiaoqing Liu Helong Zhang Jianxing He Guanghui Gao Xiaoqian Mu Zhang Bao Yanjun Xu Renhua Guo Hong Wang Lin Deng Ningqiang Ma Yalei Zhang Hui Feng Sheng Yao Jiarui Wu Luonan Chen Caicun Zhou Shengxiang Ren 2021Signal Transduction and Targeted Therapy2021,6,11:8
9PIF1 and RVE1 form a transcriptional feedback loop to control light-mediated seed germination in Arabidopsis^FA显示文摘The phytochrome B (phyB) photoreceptor plays a major role that inputs light signals to regulate seed dormancy and germination. PHYTOCHROME-INTERACTING FACTOR1 (PIF1) is a key transcription factor repressing phyB-mediated seed germination, while REVEILLE1 (RVE1) factor functions as a curial regulator in controlling both seed dormancy and ger-mination. However, the relationship between the PIF1-and RVE1-modulated signaling pathways remains mostly unknown. Here, we find that PIF1 physically interacts with RVE1. Genetic analysis indicates that RVE1 inhibition on seed germination requires PIF1;re-ciprocally, the repressive effect of PIF1 is partially de-pendent on RVE1. Strikingly, PIF1 and RVE1 directly bind to the promoter and activate the expression of each other. Furthermore, PIF1 and RVE1 coordinately regulate the transcription of many downstream genes involved in abscisic acid and gibberellin pathways. Moreover, PIF1 enhances the DNA-binding ability and transcriptional repression activity of RVE1 in regulating GIBBERELLIN 3-OXIDASE2, and RVE1 promotes PIF1's DNA-binding ability in modulating ABSCISIC ACID-INSENSITIVE3 expression. 10Mechanism and kinetics study on removal of Iron from phosphoric acid by cation exchange resin显示文摘Iron element is one of the main impurities in wet-process phosphoric acid and it has a significant impact on the subsequent phosphorus chemical products. This paper studied the feasibility of using Sinco-430 cation exchange resin for iron removal from phosphoric acid. The specific surface area and the total exchange capacity of resin were 8.91 m2·g-1 and 5.18 mmol·g-1, respectively. The sorption mechanism was determined by FTIR and XPS and the results indicated that iron was combined with-SO3 H in resin. The removal process was studied as a function of temperature, H3 PO4 content and mass ratio between resin and solution. The unit mass of resin to remove iron was 0.058 g·g-1 resin when the operating parameters were T = 50 ℃, H3 PO4 content = 27.61 wt%and S/L = 0.1, respectively. Kinetics study demonstrated that pseudo-second-order reaction model fits this study best and the calculated activation energy of overall reaction is 29.10 kJ·mol-1. 11Synthesis of Mg-Al-carbonate layered double hydroxide by an atom-economic reaction显示文摘A clean method for preparing layered double hydroxides (LDHs) has been developed, featured by using the hydroxides of two different metals as starting materials by atom-economic reactions. The reactions were carried out under hydrothermal conditions in either a high pressure autoclave or a microwave digester. The compositions, structural parameters and thermal behavior of the resulting LDHs are very similar to those of materials produced by using the separate nucleation and aging steps (SNAS) method. The major advantage of the new method is that no by-product is produced, so that filtration and washing processes are unnecessary. 14The Evening Complex and the Chromatin-Remodeling Factor PICKLE Coordinately Control Seed Dormancy by Directly Repressing DOG1 in Arabidopsis显示文摘Primary seed dormancy is acquired during seed development and maturation,which is important for plant fitness and survival.DELAY OF GERMINATION1(DOG1)plays a critical role in inducing seed dormancy.DOG1 expression increases rapidly during seed development,but the precise mechanism underlying this process remains elusive.In this study,we showed that mutants with a loss or reduced function of the chromatin-remodeling factor PICKLE(PKL)exhibit increased seed dormancy.PKL associates with DOG1 chromatin and inhibits its transcription.We found that PKL physically interacts with LUX ARRHYTHMO(LUX),a member of the evening complex(EC)of the circadian clock.Furthermore,LUX directly binds to a specific coding sequence of DOG1,and DOG1 acts genetically downstream of PKL and LUX.Mutations in either LUX or EARLY FLOWERING3(ELF3)encoding another member of the EC led to increased DOG1 expression and enhanced seed dormancy.Surprisingly,these phenotypes were abolished when the parent plants were grown under continuous light.In addition,we observed that loss of function of either PKL or LUX decreased H3K27me3 levels at the DOG1 locus.Taken together,our study reveals a regulatory mechanism in which EC proteins coordinate with PKL to transmit circadian signals for directly regulating DOG1 expression and seed dormancy during seed development.Ping Zha Shuangrong Liu Yang Li Tingting Ma Liwen Yang Yanjun Jing Rongcheng Lin 2020Plant Communications2020,1,2:3
15Kalman Filter-Based Fusion Estimation Method of Steering Feedback Torque for Steer-by-Wire Systems显示文摘Universal challenge lies in torque feedback accuracy for steer-by-wire systems,especially on uneven and low-friction road.Therefore,this paper proposes a fusion method based on Kalman filter that combines a dynamics-reconstruction method and disturbance observer-based method.The dynamics-reconstruction method is designed according to the vehicle dynamics and used as the prediction model of the Kalman filter.While the disturbance observer-based method is performed as an observer model of the Kalman filter.The performance of all three methods is comprehensively evaluated in a hardware-in-the-loop system.Experimental results show that the proposed fusion method outperforms dynamics reconstruction method and disturbance observer-based method.Specifically,compared with the dynamics-reconstruction method,the root mean square error is reduced by 36.58%at the maximum on the flat road.Compared with the disturbance observer-based method,the root mean square error is reduced by 39.11%at the maximum on different-friction and uneven road.Lin Zhang Qiang Meng Hong Chen Yanjun Huang Yang Liu Konghui Guo 2021Automotive Innovation2021,4,4:3
16PHYTOCHROME-INTERACTING FACTORS Interact with the ABA Receptors PYL8 and PYL9 to Orchestrate ABA Signaling in Darkness显示文摘PHYTOCHROME-INTERACTING FACTORS(PIFs)are a group of basic helix-loop-helix transcription factors that can physically interact with photoreceptors,including phytochromes and cryptochromes.It was previously demonstrated that PIFs accumulated in darkness and repressed seedling photomorphogenesis,and that PIFs linked different photosensory and hormonal pathways to control plant growth and development.In this study,we show that PIFs positively regulate the ABA signaling pathway during the seedling stage specifically in darkness.We found that PIFs positively regulate ABI5 transcript and protein levels in darkness in response to exogenous ABA treatment by binding directly to the G-box motifs in the ABI5 promoter.Consistently,PIFs and the G-box motifs in the ABI5 promoter determine ABI5 expression in darkness,and overexpression of ABI5 could rescue the ABA-insensitive phenotypes of pifq mutants in the dark.Moreover,we discovered that PIFs can physically interact with the ABA receptors PYL8 and PYL9,and that this interaction is not regulated by ABA.Further analyses showed that PYL8 and PYL9 promote PIF4 protein accumulation in the dark and enhance PIF4 binding to the ABI5 promoter,but negatively regulate PIF4-mediated ABI5 activation.Taken together,our data demonstrate that PIFs interact with ABA receptors to orchestrate ABA signaling in darkness by controlling ABI5 expression,providing new insights into the pivotal roles of PIFs as signal integrators in regulating plant growth and development.Lijuan Qi Shan Liu Cong Li Jingying Fu Yanjun Jing Jinkui Cheng Hong Li Dun Zhang Xiaoji Wang Xiaojing Dong Run Han Bosheng Li Yu Zhang Zhen Li William Terzaghi Chun-Peng Song Rongcheng Lin Zhizhong Gong Jigang Li 2020Molecular Plant2020,13,3:3
17Adsorption equilibrium and kinetics studies of divalent manganese from phosphoric acid solution by using cationic exchange resin显示文摘There are numerous impurities in wet-process phosphoric acid,among which manganese is one of detrimental metallic impurities,and it causes striking negative effects on the industrial phosphoric acid production and downstream commodity.This article investigated the adsorption behavior of manganese from phosphoric acid employing Sinco-430 cationic ion-exchange resin.Resorting FT-IR and XPS characterizations,the adsorption mechanism was proved to be that manganese was combined with sulfonic acid group.Several crucial parameters such as temperature,phosphoric acid content and resin dose were studied to optimize adsorption efficiency.Through optimization,removal percentage and sorption capacity of manganese reached 53.12 wt%,28.34 mg·g^-1,respectively.Pseudo-2nd-order kinetic model simulated kinetics data best and the activation energy was evaluated as 6.34 kJ·mol^-1 for the sorption reaction of manganese.In addition,the global adsorption rate was first controlled by film diffusion process and second determined by pore diffusion process.It was found that the resin could adsorb up to 50.24 mg·g^-1 for manganese.Equilibrium studies showed that Toth adsorption isotherm model fitted best,followed by Temkin and Langmuir adsorption isotherm models.Thermodynamic analysis showed that manganese adsorption was an endothermic process with enhanced randomness and spontaneity.Haibo Zhuang Yanjun Zhong Lin Yang 2020Chinese Journal of Chemical Engineering2020,28,11:3

19Smoke suppressant in flame retarded thermoplastic polyurethane composites: Synergistic effect and mechanism study显示文摘Considerable smoke and toxic volatiles generation has compromised the application of thermoplastic polyurethane (TPU) and caused a great threat to human life. Here, nano-MgFe layered double hydroxide (MgFe-LDH) with uniform particle size was synthesized to reduce smoke density and toxic gases of TPU composites using ammonium polyphosphate (APP) as a flame retardant agent. The results show that the combination of 16 wt.% APP and 4 wt.% MgFe-LDH greatly decreased the smoke density (D20min and Ds, max), smoke production rate (SPR) and heat release rate (HRR) of TPU composites. Furthermore, the MgFe-LDH synergist demonstrated high efficiency in decreasing total volatiled products and toxic volatiles evolved, such as the CO, HCN and isocyanates. The reason was mainly attributed to the chemical reaction between MgFe-LDH and APP, which can promote the compactness of char layers with fine microstructure formed in the decomposition process of MgFe-LDH/APP/TPU composites. 20A Hierarchical unsupervised method for power line classification from airborne LiDAR data显示文摘The automatic classification of power lines from airborne light detection and ranging(LiDAR)data is a crucial task for power supply management.The methods for power line classification can be either supervised or unsupervised.Supervised methods might achieve high accuracy for small areas,but it is time consuming to collect training data over areas of different conditions and complexity.Therefore,unsupervised methods that can automatically work over different areas without sophisticated parameter tuning are in great demand.In this paper,we presented a hierarchical unsupervised LiDAR-based power line classification method that first screened the power line candidate points(including the power line corridor direction detection based on a layered Hough transform,connectivity analysis,and Douglas–Peucker simplification algorithm),followed by the extraction of contextual linear and angular features for each candidate laser points,and finally by setting the feature threshold values to identify the power line points.We tested the method over both forest and urban areas and found that the precision,recall and quality rates were up to 96.7%,88.8%and 78.3%,respectively,for the test datasets and were higher than the ones from a previously developed supervised classification method.Overall,our approach has the advantages of achieving relatively high accuracy and being relatively fast.Yanjun Wang Qi Chen Lin Liu Kai Li 2019International Journal of Digital Earth2019,12,12:2
