1Short and long-term efficacy of combining Fuzhengliqi mixture with acupuncture in treatment of functional constipation显示文摘OBJECTIVE: To explore the short and long-term efficacy of combining Fuzhengliqi mixture (FLM) with acupuncture in treating functional constipation (FC). METHODS: The 560 patients with confirmed diagnosis of FC were randomly assigned to four groups: FLM group, acupuncture group, combined therapy group, and control group. There were 140 cases in each group. The FLM group was administered FLM 60 mL twice a day, while the acupuncture group was treated with acupuncture at acupoints Tianshu (ST 25), Shangjuxu (ST 37), Zusanli (ST 36), Dachangshu (BL 25), and Zhigou (TE 6) twice a day, the combined therapy group with FLM and acupuncture, and the control group was administered mosapride (5 mg thrice a day) and Macrogol 4000 (10 g twice a day). The treatment lasted 6 weeks. The defecation interval, stool property, constipation symptoms, and accompanying symptomswere recorded, graded, and scored.The gastrointestinal transit time (GITT) and motilin (MTL) level in serum and life quality score were detected at three time points (pre-treatment, at the end of treatment, and 60 weeks post-treatment). Moreover, the adverse reactions were also observed. RESULTS: In the FLM group 2 cases were eliminated for not taking medication strictly according to the research plan and 1 case was lost to follow-up, while 2 cases in the acupuncture group and 2 cases in the combined therapy group were lost to follow-up. Compared with those detected pre-treat- ment, the defecation interval, stool property, consti- pation symptom grade, accompanying symptom grade, and GITT were all decreased markedly at the end of treatment in every group, while the MTL levels in serum and life quality score were increased markedly (P<0.01), the above-mentioned detecting indices were better in the combined therapy group than those in other groups (P<0.05). Compared with the end of treatment, above-mentioned detecting indices all recurred significantly in the FLM group and control group 60 weeks post-treatment (P>0.05), but these indices recurred insignificantly in the acupuncture and combined therapy groups (P>0.05). The short and long-term total effective rates in the combined therapy group were significantly different from those in other groups (P<0.05 or P<0.01). No serious adverse reactions were found in four groups. CONCLUSION: Both FLM and acupuncture can significantly shorten the defecation interval and GITT, increase MTL levels in serum, decrease the scores of stool property, constipation symptoms, and accompanying symptoms in patients with FC to increase their life quality. 2Visceral Fat Area,Waist Circumference and Metabolic Risk Factors in Abdominally Obese Chinese Adults显示文摘Objective To examine the association of visceral adiposity as measured by VFA and WC with lipid and glucose metabolic biomarkers in abdominally obese Chinese adults,and to assess whether WC could be an indicator of visceral fat.Methods WC and VFA were measured in 155 overweight and obese adults.A fasting blood sample was collected from participant(n=118) whose VFA ≥100 cm2 for analyses of lipid and glucose profile.The relationship between VFA and WC and biomarkers was investigated.Results WC and VFA were significantly interrelated.The coincidence rate of abdominal obesity determined by Japanese VFA and Chinese WC criteria increased across age quartiles in women from 51.7% to 96.2%.A large WC was associated significantly with low HDL-cholesterol concentration(P<0.01) and the association was weakened by additional control of VFA.WC and VFA were positively associated with glucose,hemoglobin A1c and insulin concentrations(P<0.05 except for the association of VFA with insulin:P<0.01),and all the associations were not significant by additional control of either WC or VFA.As WC quartiles increased,significant stepwise increments in triglyceride,glucose,hemoglobin A1c and insulin and descent in HDL-cholesterol were observed.However,triglyceride and HDL-cholesterol were not significantly different when compared across VFA quartiles.Conclusion Higher visceral fat was associated with an adverse lipid and glucose profile.WC can be a moderate predictor for visceral fat and provides a feasible measurement to estimate glucose metabolic risks.Further studies are warranted to establish age-specific WC cutoffs.LI Xu KATASHIMA Mitsuhiro YASUMASU Takeshi LIKe Ji 2012Biomedical and Environmental Sciences2012,25,2:8
3Clinical curative effect of electroacupuncture combined with Zhizhukuanzhong Capsules for treating gastroesophageal reflux disease显示文摘OBJECTIVE:To study the clinical curative effect,safety and mechanism of action of electroacupuncture combined with Zhizhukuanzhong capsules(ZZKZC) in treating gastroesophageal reflux disease(GERD).METHODS:A total of 480 patients with confirmed GERD were randomly divided into four groups:the electroacupuncture group,the ZZKZC group,the combined therapy group,and the control group,with 120 cases in each group.Each case in the electroacupuncture group was treated with electroacupuncture on Zusanli(ST36),Zhongwan(CV12),Neiguan(PC6),Taichong(LR3)and Gongsun(SP 4)once daily for 6 weeks.Each case in the ZZKZC group was treated with oral administration of 1.29 g ZZKZC three times daily.The combined therapy group had electroacupuncture and ZZKZC.The control group was given oral administration of 5 mg mosapride three times and 20 mg pantoprazole twice daily.The 24-hour intraesophageal total number of reflux episodes with pH <4(or bilirubin absorbance ≥ 0.14),the number of long-term(≥5 min) reflux episodes,the percentage of upright time,the percentage of supine time,the percentage of total time of pH <4(or bilirubin absorbance ≥0.14),endoscopic grading score,symptom score,quality of life score,and adverse reactions were observed before treatment,at the end of treatment and 54 weeks after treatment in the four groups.RESULTS:The 24-hour intraesophageal pH and bile reflux,endoscopic grading score and symptom score were all significantly decreased at the end of treatment in every group,while the scores of 8 dimensions of quality of life were all increased compared with those before treatment(P<0.01).All of these indices were better in the combined therapy group than those in the other groups(P<0.05).These indices did not significantly deteriorate in the combined therapy group and electroacupuncture group 54 weeks after treatment compared with the end of treatment(P>0.05);however,these indices all significantly deteriorated in the ZZKZC and control groups(P>0.05).The short and long-term total efficacy rates in the combined therapy group showed significant superiority to those in the other groups(P<0.05 or P<0.01).No serious adverse reactions were found in the four groups.CONCLUSION:Electroacupuncture and ZZKZC play an important role in inhibiting intraesophageal acid and bile reflux,decreasing the endoscopic grading score,and alleviating the symptoms of gastroesophageal reflux to improve the quality of life.However,the effect of combined treatment is more effective,with better security and long-term efficacy,and therefore,this combination treatment is appropriate for clinicaluse.Chaoxian Zhang Like Guo Xiaofeng Guo Xiaohe Guo Guangyan Li 2012Journal of Traditional Chinese Medicine2012,32,3:8
4Feature Extraction Method Based on Pseudo-Wigner-Ville Distribution for Rotational Machinery in Variable Operating Conditions显示文摘In the case of fault diagnosis for roller bearings, the conventional diagnosis approaches by using the time interval of energy impacts in time-frequency distribution or the pass-frequencies are based on the assumption that machinery operates under a constant rotational speed. However, when the rotational speed varies in the broader range, the pass-frequencies vary with the change of rotational speed and bearing faults cannot be identified by the interval of impacts. Researches related to automatic diagnosis for rotational machinery in variable operating conditions were quite few. A novel automatic feature extraction method is proposed based on a pseudo-Wigner-Ville distribution (PWVD) and an extraction of symptom parameter (SP). An extraction method for instantaneous feature spectrum is presented using the relative crossing information (RCI) and sequential inference approach, by which the feature spectrum from time-frequency distribution can be automatically, sequentially extracted. The SPs are considered in the frequency domain using the extracted feature spectrum to identify among the conditions of a machine. A method to obtain the synthetic symptom parameter is also proposed by the least squares mapping (LSM) technique for increasing the diagnosis sensitivity of SP. Practical examples of diagnosis for bearings are given in order to verify the effectiveness of the proposed method. 5Mycorrhizal symbiosis modulates the rhizosphere microbiota to promote rhizobia–legume symbiosis显示文摘Plants establish symbioses with mutualistic fungi,such as arbuscular mycorrhizal(AM)fungi,and bacteria,such as rhizobia,to exchange key nutrients and thrive.Plants and symbionts have coevolved and represent vital components of terrestrial ecosystems.Plants employ an ancestral AM signaling pathway to establish intracellular symbioses,including the legume–rhizobia symbiosis,in their roots.Nevertheless,the relationship between the AM and rhizobial symbioses in native soil is poorly understood.Here,we examined how these distinct symbioses affect root-associated bacterial communities in Medicago truncatula by performing quantitative microbiota profiling(QMP)of 16S rRNA genes.We found that M.truncatula mutants that cannot establish AM or rhizobia symbiosis have an altered microbial load(quantitative abundance)in the rhizosphere and roots,and in particular that AM symbiosis is required to assemble a normal quantitative root-associated microbiota in native soil.Moreover,quantitative microbial co-abundance network analyses revealed that AM symbiosis affects Rhizobiales hubs among plant microbiota and benefits the plant holobiont.Through QMP of rhizobial rpoB and AM fungal SSU rRNA genes,we revealed a new layer of interaction whereby AM symbiosis promotes rhizobia accumulation in the rhizosphere of M.truncatula.We further showed that AM symbiosis-conditioned microbial communities within the M.truncatula rhizosphere could promote nodulation in different legume plants in native soil.Given that the AM and rhizobial symbioses are critical for crop growth,our findings might inform strategies to improve agricultural management.Moreover,our work sheds light on the co-evolution of these intracellular symbioses during plant adaptation to native soil conditions.Xiaolin Wang Huan Feng Yayu Wang Mingxing Wang Xingguang Xie Huizhong Chang Like Wang Jicheng Qu Kai Sun Wei He Chunyan Wang Chuanchao Dai Zhaohui Chu Changfu Tian Nan Yu Xuebin Zhang Huan Liu Ertao Wang 2021Molecular Plant2021,14,3:6
6Transcriptome profiles reveal that gibberellin-related genes regulate weeping traits in crape myrtle显示文摘Plant architecture includes vital traits that influence and benefit crops,and economically important trees.Different plant architectures provide natural beauty.Weeping ornamental plants are aesthetically appealing to people.The regulatory mechanism controlling the weeping trait is poorly understood in crape myrtle.To investigate the weeping trait mechanism,transcriptional profiling of different organs in weeping and upright crape myrtle was performed based on phenotype.Phenotypic and histological analyses demonstrated that endodermal cells were absent,and that new shoot phenotypes could be rescued by the GA3 treatment of weeping plants.The transcriptional analysis and coexpression network analysis(WGCNA)of differentially expressed genes indicated that GA synthesis and signal transduction pathways play a role in weeping traits.When the expression level of a negative element of GA signaling,LfiGRAS1,was reduced by virus-induced gene silencing(VIGS),new branches grew in infected plants in a negatively geotropic manner.An integrated analysis implied that GA had a strong influence on weeping crape myrtle by interacting with other factors.This study helps to elucidate the mechanism governing the weeping trait and can improve the efficiency of breeding in Lagerstroemia.Suzhen Li Tangchun Zheng Xiaokang Zhuo Zhuojiao Li Lulu Li Ping Li Like Qiu Huitang Pan Jia Wang Tangren Cheng Qixiang Zhang 2020Horticulture Research2020,7,1:5
7Multi-object approach and its appfication to adaptive water management under climate change显示文摘This paper addresses issues on adaptive water management under the impact of climate change.Based on a set of comprehensive indicators of water system,a decision making approach of multi-objects is developed and applied to quantify water adaptive management for the demands of water sustainable use,water environmental protection and eco-water requirement under the climate change.For this study in China,two key indicators are proposed,namely(1) the water resources vulnerability(V) that was represented by integrated sensitivity(S) and resilience(C) of climate change impact on water resources,and(2) the sustainability of socio-economy and water environment,marked by DD,that is integrated scaler of socio-economic development(EG) based on the amount of GDP and the water environment and relative eco-system quality(LI).To find a reasonable solution for adaptive water management,a multi-objective decision making model of adaptive water management is further developed and the multi-objective model was transformed into an integrated single optimization model through developing an integrated measure function,called as VDD=DD/V.This approach has been applied to adaptive water resources planning and management for case study of China with new policy,called as the strict management of water resources based on three red line controls,i.e.,the control of total water use by the total water resources allocation,the control of lower water use efficiency by the water demand management and the control of the total waste water load by water quality management in the Eastern China Monsoon Region that covers major eight big river basins including Yangtze River,Yellow River,Haihe River and Huaihe River.It is shown that the synthetic representation of water resource vulnerability and socio-economic sustainability by the integrated objective function(VDD) and integrated decision making model are workable and practicable.Adaptive management effect of the criterion compliance rate and water use efficiency are more appreciable through new water policy of the three red line controls,which can reduce 21.3% of the water resources vulnerability(V) and increase 18.4% of the sustainability of socioeconomy and water environment(DD) for the unfavorable scenario of climate change in 2030.HONG Si XIA Jun CHEN Junxu WAN Long NING Like SHI Wei 2017Journal of Geographical Sciences2017,27,3:5
8Influence of the Addition of Cotton Stalk during Co-pyrolysis with Sewage Sludge on the Properties, Surface Characteristics, and Ecological Risks of Biochars显示文摘Sewage sludge produced by municipal sewage treatment plants can potentially be used as a biomass energy source because of its high organic content.Presently,the conversion and utilization of rapidly growing amounts of sewage sludge represent an urgent challenge in China.Thermal conversion of sewage sludge to biochar through pyrolysis is a promising solution to this problem.However,biochar produced by pyrolysis of sewage sludge alone has a poor pore structure as a result of its low C content and high ash content.Furthermore,it is enriched in heavy metals that may pose high ecological risks.In this study,we addressed these issues through co-pyrolysis of sewage sludge and cotton stalks(1:1,wt./wt.)at different pyrolysis temperatures ranging from 350℃ to 750℃.The properties and surface characteristics of the biochars were investigated.Meanwhile,the transformation behavior of heavy metals during the co-pyrolysis process was studied,and the potential ecological risks of heavy metals in biochars were assessed.The results showed that elevated pyrolysis temperatures reduced the biochar yield and C content of the biochars,whereas such temperatures increased the pH value and ash content of the biochars.The biochars prepared at different pyrolysis temperatures were all mesoporous materials.The elevated temperatures promoted the transformation of heavy metals from mobile fractions to stable ones,thus resulting in a significant decrease in the ecological risks.In summary,co-pyrolysis of sewage sludge with cotton stalks proved to be a feasible method for the conversion and utilization of sewage sludge.WANG Zhipu WANG Jian XIE Like ZHU Henan SHU Xinqian 2019Journal of Thermal Science2019,28,4:5
9Cryogenic treatment induced hardening for Cu-Zr-Ag-Al bulk metallic glasses显示文摘Little is known about the mechanical properties of bulk metallic glassy alloys(BMGs) after cryogenic treatment.In this study,the effects of cryogenic treatment(CT) on the microstructural transition and the mechanical properties of Cu-based bulk metallic glass(BMG) were studied.The results showed that submicron AlCu2Zr and Cu5Zr phases can precipitate from the Cu-Zr-Ag-Al matrix after 192 h CT.The formation of these nanometer-sized crystalline phases substantially enhanced the mechanical properties of the bulk amorphous alloy.The micro-hardness and the compressive strength were found to increase respectively from 501 HV and 1510 MPa to 595 HV and 1910 MPa after cryogenic treatment.CT is a promising approach to strengthening metal glasses.CHEN ZhenHua ZHANG LiKe LIU JiZi CHEN Ding 2013Chinese Science Bulletin2013,58,7:5
10Flight safety oriented ice shape modulation using distributed plasma actuator units显示文摘Ice accretion on the wings seriously threatens the flight safety of an aircraft.From the perspectives of ensuring flight safety and saving power consumption,the ice shape modulation method using distributed plasma is proposed.Distributed plasma actuator units are designed to modulate the spanwise continuous ice at the leading edge into periodically segmented ice pieces,forming a wavy leading edge.Both airfoil and scaled aircraft model,with continuous and modulated ice,are experimentally investigated and simulated.Compared with the continuous ice,ice shape modulation can significantly improve the aerodynamic performance,flight control characteristics and flight safety.This method can save about half electric power,which is very beneficial for application.Yun WU Biao WEI Hua LIANG Like XIE Zhe LI Yinghong LI 2021Chinese Journal of Aeronautics2021,34,10:5
11Sensitivity and vulnerability of water resources in the arid Shiyang River Basin of Northwest China显示文摘The sensitivity and vulnerability of water resources to climate change is difficult to assess. In this study, we used a conceptual hydrologic model to investigate the sensitivity of streamflow to climate change. We also proposed a framework to evaluate the vulnerability of water resources in arid regions. We applied this framework to a case study of the Shiyang River Basin in Northwest China. Results showed that the precipitation and streamflow in Shiyang River Basin exhibited no significant trends of change from 1956 to 2010. In the past five decades, however, the temperature increased significantly by 0.37°C per decade. According to the sensitivity assessment, a 10% increase in precipitation and a 1°C increase in temperature altered mean annual streamflow by averages of 14.6% and –0.5%, respectively, from 1988 to 2005. In the 2000s, the calculated vulnerability of water resources in Shiyang River Basin was more than 0.95, indicating severe vulnerability. The increase in the amount of precipitation and the implementation of water-saving measures can reduce the vulnerability of water resources in the future; if precipitation increases by 10% per decade and the use of irrigation water decreases by 15% in the 2030s, the evaluated value of water resources vulnerability will be reduced to 0.79. However, the region remains highly vulnerable. 12Runoff of arid and semi-arid regions simulated and projected by CLM-DTVGM and its multi-scale fluctuations as revealed by EEMD analysis显示文摘Runoff is a major component of the water cycle,and its multi-scale fluctuations are important to water resources management across arid and semi-arid regions.This paper coupled the Distributed Time Variant Gain Model(DTVGM)into the Community Land Model(CLM 3.5),replacing the TOPMODEL-based method to simulate runoff in the arid and semi-arid regions of China.The coupled model was calibrated at five gauging stations for the period 1980–2005 and validated for the period 2006–2010.Then,future runoff(2010–2100)was simulated for different Representative Concentration Pathways(RCP)emission scenarios.After that,the spatial distributions of the future runoff for these scenarios were discussed,and the multi-scale fluctuation characteristics of the future annual runoff for the RCP scenarios were explored using the Ensemble Empirical Mode Decomposition(EEMD)analysis method.Finally,the decadal variabilities of the future annual runoff for the entire study area and the five catchments in it were investigated.The results showed that the future annual runoff had slowly decreasing trends for scenarios RCP 2.6 and RCP 8.5 during the period 2010–2100,whereas it had a non-monotonic trend for the RCP 4.5 scenario,with a slow increase after the 2050 s.Additionally,the future annual runoff clearly varied over a decadal time scale,indicating that it had clear divisions between dry and wet periods.The longest dry period was approximately 15 years(2040–2055)for the RCP 2.6 scenario and 25 years(2045–2070)for the RCP 4.5 scenario.However,the RCP 8.5 scenario was predicted to have a long dry period starting from 2045.Under these scenarios,the water resources situation of the study area will be extremely severe.Therefore,adaptive water management measures addressing climate change should be adopted to proactively confront the risks of water resources.NING Like XIA Jun ZHAN Chesheng ZHANG Yongyong 2016Journal of Arid Land2016,8,4:4

14Television News Coverage of Obesity in China,1982-2009显示文摘Objective The purpose of this study was to explore how obesity was covered in television news in China,including the trends over me and the characteris cs of obesity-related news.Methods The frame analysis was adopted to assess the content of obesity-related news broadcasted in China Central Television (CCTV) from 1982 to 2009.To inves gate the characteris cs of the news,the obesity-related news was divided into subgroups according to popula ons concerned,as well as the period in which the news was broadcasted.The differences between subgroups were examined.Results A total of 1 599 pieces of news reported obesity,in which 1 278 pieces (79.92%) aired in 'wealthy' period (2006-2009).More news was concerned with adults (1 134,70.92%). 15Cell viability and dopamine secretion of 6-hydroxydopamine-treated PC12 cells co-cultured with bone marrow-derived mesenchymal stem cells显示文摘In the present study, PC12 cells induced by 6-hydroxydopamine as a model of Parkinson's Disease, were used to investigate the protective effects of bone marrow-derived mesenchymal stem cells bone marrow-derived mesenchymal stem cells against 6-hydroxydopamine-induced neurotoxicity and to verify whether the mechanism of action relates to abnormal α-synuclein accumulation in cells. Results showed that co-culture with bone marrow-derived mesenchymal stem cells enhanced PC12 cell viability and dopamine secretion in a cell dose-dependent manner. MitoLight staining was used to confirm that PC12 cells co-cultured with bone marrow-derived mesenchymal stem cells demonstrate reduced levels of cell apoptosis. Immunocytochemistry and western blot analysis found the quantity of α-synuclein accumulation was significantly reduced in PC12 cell and bone marrow-derived mesenchymal stem cell co-cultures. 17The Relationships between cyclin D1 Expression and Prognosis of Non-small Cell Lung Cancer显示文摘Background and objective cyclin D1 is a member of the cyclin family,and it has been proven that it plaied an important role in tumorigenesis,invasion and metastasis.We performed a retrospective study on the cyclin D1 expression in non-small cell lung cancer (NSCLC) according to the clinical characteristics.Methods One hundred fifteen postsurgical NSCLC patients were investigated.Immunohistochemistry was used to evaluate the cyclin D1 expression.Results Overall survival was significantly lower in patients with cyclin D1-high expression of tumors than those with cyclin D1 low expression of tumors (χ2=5.132,P=0.023).In early stage patients (stage I,II),the overall survival was significantly lower in patients with cyclin D1-high expression of tumors than those with cyclin D1-low expression of tumors (χ2=6.863,P=0.009).cyclin D1 status (hazard ratio=0.630;P=0.035),differentiation (hazard ratio=0.399;P<0.001),and pTNM (hazard ratio=1.576;P<0.001) to be independent prognostic factors for NSCLC patients.Specifically,the cyclin D1 status (hazard ratio=0.188;P=0.008) was a significant prognostic factor for patients with stage I NSCLCs.Conclusion cyclin D1 expression is an independent prognosis factor for postoperative patient in stage I,II NSCLCs.Jiping ZHU1,Like YU1,Ping ZHAN2,Yong SONG2,Qin WANG3 1Department of Respiratory Medicine,Nanjing Chest Hospital,Nanjing 210029,China 2Department of Respiratory Medicine,Jinling Hospital,Nanjing University School of Medicine,Nanjing 210001,China 3Department of Respiratory Medicine,81 Hospital of PLA,Nanjing 210002,China 2010中国肺癌杂志2010,13,8:3
18Nonlocal thermoelastic analysis of a functionally graded material microbeam显示文摘In extreme heat transfer environments, functionally graded materials(FGMs)have aroused great concern due to the excellent thermal shock resistance. With the development of micro-scale devices, the size-dependent effect has become an important issue. However, the classical continuum mechanical model fails on the micro-scale due to the influence of the size-dependent effect. Meanwhile, for thermoelastic behaviors limited to small-scale problems, Fourier's heat conduction law cannot explain the thermal wave effect. In order to capture the size-dependent effect and the thermal wave effect, the nonlocal generalized thermoelastic theory for the formulation of an FGM microbeam is adopted in the present work. For numerical validation, the transient responses for a simply supported FGM microbeam heated by the ramp-type heating are considered.The governing equations are formulated and solved by employing the Laplace transform techniques. 19Application of sodium alginate microspheres in ischemic stroke modeling in miniature pigs显示文摘The miniature pig is an optimal animal model for studying nervous system disease because of its physiologic and pathologic features. However, the rete mirabile composed of arteries and veins at the skull base limits their application as a model of ischemic stroke by middle cerebral artery occlusion. The present study investigated the possibility of establishing an ischemic stroke model in the miniature pig by blocking the skull base retia with sodium alginate microspheres. Three Bama miniature pigs were used. Using the monitor of C-arm X-ray machine, sodium alginate microspheres (100-300 μm), a novel embolic material, were injected through the femoral artery, aortic arch, common carotid artery, ascending pharyngeal artery and the retia. Results were evaluated using carotid arteriography, MRI, behavior observation and histology. The unilateral rete mirabile was completely blocked, resulting in disturbance in blood supply to the basal ganglia, astasia of the right hind limb and salivation. MRI and hematoxylin-eosin staining showed an evident infarction focus in the basal ganglia.
