1Efficacy of cattle encephalon glycoside and ignotin in patients with acute cerebral infarction: a randomized, double-blind, parallel-group, placebo-controlled study显示文摘Cattle encephalon glycoside and ignotin(CEGI)injection is a compound preparation formed by a combination of muscle extract from hea lthy rabbits and brain gangliosides from cattle,and it is generally used as a neuroprotectant in the treatment of central and peripheral nerve injuries.However,there is still a need for high-level clinical evidence from large samples to support the use of CEGI.We therefore carried out a prospective,multicenter,randomized,double-blind,parallel-group,placebo-controlled study in which we recruited 319 patients with acute cerebral infarction from 16 centers in China from October 2013 to May 2016.The patients were randomized at a 3:1 ratio into CEGI(n=239;155 male,84 female;61.2±9.2 years old)and placebo(n=80;46 male,34 female;63.2±8.28 years old)groups.All patients were given standard care once daily for 14 days,including a 200 mg aspirin enteric-coated tablet and 20 mg atorvastatin calcium,both taken orally,and intravenous infusion of 250–500 mL 0.9%sodium chloride containing 40 mg sodium tanshinone IIA sulfonate.Based on conventional treatment,patients in the CEGI and placebo groups were given 12 mL CEGI or 12 mL sterile water,respectively,in an intravenous drip of 250 mL 0.9%sodium chloride(2 mL/min)once daily for 14 days.According to baseline National Institutes of Health Stroke Scale scores,patients in the two groups were divided into mild and moderate subgroups.Based on the modified Rankin Scale results,the rate of patients with good outcomes in the CEGI group was higher than that in the placebo group,and the rate of disability in the CEGI group was lower than that in the placebo group on day 90 after treatment.In the CEGI group,neurological deficits were decreased on days 14 and 90 after treatment,as measured by the National Institutes of Health Stroke Scale and the Barthel Index.Subgroup analysis revealed that CEGI led to more significant improvements in moderate stroke patients.No drug-related adverse events occurred in the CEGI or placebo groups.In conclusion,CEGI may be a safe and effective treatment for acute cerebral infarction patients,especially for moderate stroke patients.This study was approved by the Ethical Committee of Peking University Third Hospital,China(approval No.2013-068-2)on May 20,2013,and registered in the Chinese Clinical Trial Registry(registration No.ChiCTR1800017937).Hui Zhang Chuan-Ling Li Feng Wan Su-Juan Wang Xiu-E Wei Yan-Lei Hao Hui-Lin Leng Jia-Min Li Zhong-Rui Yan Bao-Jun Wang Ren-Shi Xu Ting-Min Yu Li-Chun Zhou Dong-Sheng Fan 2020Neural Regeneration Research2020,15,7:54
2Direct Yaw Moment Control for Distributed Drive Electric Vehicle Handling Performance Improvement显示文摘For a distributed drive electric vehicle(DDEV) driven by four in-wheel motors, advanced vehicle dynamic control methods can be realized easily because motors can be controlled independently, quickly and precisely. And direct yaw-moment control(DYC) has been widely studied and applied to vehicle stability control. Good vehicle handling performance: quick yaw rate transient response, small overshoot, high steady yaw rate gain, etc, is required by drivers under normal conditions, which is less concerned, however. Based on the hierarchical control methodology, a novel control system using direct yaw moment control for improving handling performance of a distributed drive electric vehicle especially under normal driving conditions has been proposed. The upper-loop control system consists of two parts: a state feedback controller, which aims to realize the ideal transient response of yaw rate, with a vehicle sideslip angle observer; and a steering wheel angle feedforward controller designed to achieve a desired yaw rate steady gain. Under the restriction of the effect of poles and zeros in the closed-loop transfer function on the system response and the capacity of in-wheel motors, the integrated time and absolute error(ITAE) function is utilized as the cost function in the optimal control to calculate the ideal eigen frequency and damper coefficient of the system and obtain optimal feedback matrix and feedforward matrix. Simulations and experiments with a DDEV under multiple maneuvers are carried out and show the effectiveness of the proposed method: yaw rate rising time is reduced, steady yaw rate gain is increased, vehicle steering characteristic is close to neutral steer and drivers burdens are also reduced. The control system improves vehicle handling performance under normal conditions in both transient and steady response. 4Carbonate-salt-based composite materials for medium- and high-temperature thermal energy storage显示文摘This paper discusses composite materials based on inorganic salts for medium- and high-temperature thermal energy storage application.The composites consist of a phase change material(PCM),a ceramic material,and a high thermal conductivity material.The ceramic material forms a microstructural skeleton for encapsulation of the PCM and structural stability of the composites;the high thermal conductivity material enhances the overall thermal conductivity of the composites.Using a eutectic salt of lithium and sodium carbonates as the PCM,magnesium oxide as the ceramic skeleton,and either graphite flakes or carbon nanotubes as the thermal conductivity enhancer,we produced composites with good physical and chemical stability and high thermal conductivity.We found that the wettability of the molten salt on the ceramic and carbon materials significantly affects the microstructure of the composites.Zhiwei Ge Feng Ye Hui Cao Guanghui Leng Yue Qin Yulong Ding 2014Particuology2014,12,4:19
5Diagnostic value of elevated serum carbohydrate antigen 199 level in acute cholangitis secondary to choledocholithiasis显示文摘AIM To investigate the diagnostic value of abnormal serum carbohydrate antigen 199(CA199) level in acute cholangitis secondary to choledocholithiasis.METHODS In this retrospective cohort study, the clinical data of 727 patients with choledocholithiasis admitted to the Third Affiliated Hospital of Zunyi Medical College from June 2011 to June 2017 were collected. Among these patients, 258 patients had secondary acute cholangitis and served as observation group, and the remaining 569 choledocholithiasis patients served as the control group. Serum liver function indexes and tumor markers were detected in both groups, and the receiver operating characteristic(ROC) curves were constructed for markers showing statistical significances. The cutoff value, sensitivity, and specificity of each marker were calculated according to the ROC curves. RESULTS The results of liver function tests showed no significant differences between the two groups(P > 0.05). Tumor markers including serum CA125, CA153, carcinoembryonic antigen, and alpha fetoprotein levels were also not significantly different(P > 0.05); however, the serum CA199 level was significantly higher in the observation group than in the control group(P < 0.05). The ROC curve analysis showed that the area under the curve was 0.885(95%CI: 0.841-0.929) for CA199, and the cutoff value of 52.5 kU/L had the highest diagnostic accuracy, with a sensitivity of 86.8% and a specificity of 81.6%.CONCLUSION Abnormally elevated serum CA199 level has an important value in the diagnosis of acute cholangitis secondary to choledocholithiasis. 7Three-dimensional-printed individualized porous implants:A new“implant-bone”interface fusion concept for large bone defect treatment显示文摘Bone defect repairs are based on bone graft fusion or replacement.Current large bone defect treatments are inadequate and lack of reliable technology.Therefore,we aimed to investigate a simple technique using three-dimensional(3D)-printed individualized porous implants without any bone grafts,osteoinductive agents,or surface biofunctionalization to treat large bone defects,and systematically study its long-term therapeutic effects and osseointegration characteristics.Twenty-six patients with large bone defects caused by tumor,infection,or trauma received treatment with individualized porous implants;among them,three typical cases underwent a detailed study.Additionally,a large segmental femur defect sheep model was used to study the osseointegration characteristics.Immediate and long-term biomechanical stability was achieved,and the animal study revealed that the bone grew into the pores with gradual remodeling,resulting in a long-term mechanically stable implant-bone complex.Advantages of 3D-printed microporous implants for the repair of bone defects included 1)that the stabilization devices were immediately designed and constructed to achieve early postoperative mobility,and 2)that osseointegration between the host bone and implants was achieved without bone grafting.Our osseointegration method,in which the“implant-bone”interface fusion concept was used instead of“bone-bone”fusion,subverts the traditional idea of osseointegration.Teng Zhang Qingguang Wei Hua Zhou Zehao Jing Xiaoguang Liu Yufeng Zheng Hong Cai Feng Wei Liang Jiang Miao Yu Yan Cheng Daoyang Fan Wenhao Zhou Xinhong Lin Huijie Leng Jian Li Xinyu Li Caimei Wang Yun Tian Zhongjun Liu 2021Bioactive Materials2021,6,11:9
8Combination of serum gamma-glutamyltransferase and alkaline phosphatase in predicting the diagnosis of asymptomatic choledocholithiasis secondary to cholecystolithiasis显示文摘BACKGROUND Gamma-glutamyltransferase(GGT) is one of the most important laboratory tests for the evaluation of liver damage. Through a long-term clinical observation of patients with secondary asymptomatic choledocholithiasis, we found that most patients had abnormal GGT serum levels.AIM To investigate the combination of serum GGT and alkaline phosphatase(ALP) in predicting the diagnosis of asymptomatic choledocholithiasis secondary to cholecystolithiasis.METHODS In this retrospective cohort study, the clinical data of 829 patients with cholecystolithiasis admitted to the Third Affiliated Hospital of Zunyi Medical College from August 2014 to August 2017 were collected. Among these patients,151 patients had secondary asymptomatic choledocholithiasis and served as the observation group, and the remaining 678 cholecystolithiasis patients served as the control group. Serum liver function indexes were detected in both groups,and the receiver operating characteristic(commonly known as ROC) curves were constructed for markers showing statistical significances. The cutoff value,sensitivity, and specificity of each marker were calculated according to the ROC curves.RESULTS The overall incidence of asymptomatic choledocholithiasis secondary to cholecystolithiasis was 18.2%. The results of liver function indexes including serum aspartate aminotransferase, alanine aminotransferase, direct bilirubin and total bilirubin levels showed no significant differences between the two groups(P> 0.05). However, the serum GGT and ALP levels were significantly higher in the observation group than in the control group(P < 0.05). The ROC curve analysis showed that the area under the curve was 0.881(95%CI: 0.830-0.932), 0.647(95%CI: 0.583-0.711) and 0.923(0.892-0.953) for GGT, ALP, and GGT + ALP,respectively. The corresponding cut-off values of GGT and ALP were 95.5 U/L and 151.5 U/L, sensitivity were 90.8% and 65.1%, and specificity were 83.6% and59.8%, respectively. The sensitivity and specificity of GGT + ALP were 93.5% and85.1%, respectively.CONCLUSION An abnormally elevated serum GGT level has an important value in the diagnosis of asymptomatic choledocholithiasis secondary to cholecystolithiasis.The combination of serum GGT and ALP has better diagnostic performance. 9A Scenario-Based Evaluation of COVID-19-Related Essential Clinical Resource Demands in China显示文摘The coronavirus disease 2019(COVID-19)pandemic is a global crisis,and medical systems in many countries are overwhelmed with supply shortages and increasing demands to treat patients due to the surge in cases and severe illnesses.This study aimed to assess COVID-19-related essential clinical resource demands in China,based on different scenarios involving COVID-19 spreads and interventions.We used a susceptible–exposed–infectious–hospitalized/isolated–removed(SEIHR)transmission dynamics model to estimate the number of COVID-19 infections and hospitalizations with corresponding essential healthcare resources needed.We found that,under strict non-pharmaceutical interventions(NPIs)or mass vaccination of the population,China would be able to contain community transmission and local outbreaks rapidly.However,under scenarios involving a low intensity of implemented NPIs and a small proportion of the population vaccinated,the use of a peacetime–wartime transition model would be needed for medical source stockpiles and preparations to ensure a normal functioning healthcare system.The implementation of COVID-19 vaccines and NPIs in different periods can influence the transmission of COVID-19 and subsequently affect the demand for clinical diagnosis and treatment.An increased proportion of asymptomatic infections in simulations will not reduce the demand for medical resources;however,attention must be paid to the increasing difficulty in containing COVID-19 transmission due to asymptomatic cases.This study provides evidence for emergency preparations and the adjustment of prevention and control strategies during the COVID-19 pandemic.It also provides guidance for essential healthcare investment and resource allocation.Ting Zhang Qing Wang Zhiwei Leng Yuan Yang Jin Yang Fangyuan Chen Mengmeng Jia Xingxing Zhang Weiran Qi Yunshao Xu Siya Chen Peixi Dai Libing Ma Luzhao Feng Weizhong Yang 2021Engineering2021,7,7:7
10Ecological provinces of spring phytoplankton in the Yellow Sea:species composition显示文摘Phytoplanktonic ecological provinces of the Yellow Sea(31.20°–39.23°N, 121.00°–125.16°E) is derived in terms of species composition and hydrological factors(temperature and salinity). 173 samples were collected from 40 stations from April 28 to May 18, 2014, and a total of 185 phytoplanktonic algal species belonging to 81 genera of 7phyla were identified by Uterm?hl method. Phytoplankton abundance in surface waters is concentrated in the west coast of Korean Peninsula and Korea Bay, and communities in those areas are mainly composed of diatoms and cyanobacteria with dominant species of Cylindrotheca closterium, Synechocystis pevalekii, Chroomonas acuta,Paralia sulcata, Thalassiosira pacifica and Karenia mikimotoi, etc. The first ten dominant species of the investigation area are analyzed by multidimensional scaling(MDS) and cluster analysis, then the Yellow Sea is divided into five provinces from Province I(P-I) to Province V(P-V). P-I includes the coastal areas near southern Liaodong Peninsula, with phytoplankton abundance of 35 420×10~3–36 163×10~3 cells/L and an average of 35 791×10~3 cells/L, and 99.84% of biomass is contributed by cyanobacteria. P-II is from Shandong Peninsula to Subei coastal area. Phytoplankton abundance is in a range of 2×10~3–48×10~3 cells/L with an average of 24×10~3cells/L, and 63.69% of biomass is contributed by diatoms. P-III represents the Changjiang(Yangtze River) Diluted Water. Phytoplankton abundance is 10×10~3–37×10~3 cells/L with an average of 24×10~3 cells/L, and 73.14% of biomass is contributed by diatoms. P-IV represents the area affected by the Yellow Sea Warm Current.Phytoplankton abundance ranges from 6×10~3 to 82×10~3 cells/L with an average of 28×10~3 cells/L, and 64.17% of biomass is contributed by diatoms. P-V represents the cold water mass of northern Yellow Sea. Phytoplankton abundance is in a range of 41×10~3–8 912×10~3 cells/L with an average of 1 763×10~3 cells/L, and 89.96% of biomass is contributed by diatoms. Overall, structures of phytoplankton community in spring are quite heterogeneous in different provinces. 11Income effects of poverty alleviation relocation program on rural farmers in China显示文摘This paper analyses the impact of the poverty alleviation relocation(PAR)program on rural household income and evaluates the heterogeneous income effects of various relocation modes,based on a panel dataset of relocated households from 16 counties in eight Chinese provinces.The results show that participation in the PAR increases the income of both rural and urban resettlers.More specifically,it has a significant positive effect on agricultural and wage income for rural and urban resettlers,respectively.Further analyses show that the income increase for rural resettlers was mainly due to agricultural technology training and that the income increase for town resettlers was attributed to medical security.For the village resettlers,policies should focus on strengthening the development of local industries and training of agricultural technologies.For the urban resettlers,non-agricultural employment and public services in the urban resettlement areas should be promoted.LENG Gan-xiao FENG Xiao-long QIU Huan-guang 2021Journal of Integrative Agriculture2021,20,4:5
12Hepatic perivascular epithelioid cell tumor in three patients显示文摘Perivascular epithelioid cell tumor(PEComa) is a rare, soft tissue tumor that can occur in various locations. The present report included three patients(one male and two females; age range, 25-51 years) with hepatic PEComas. The collected data included the clinical manifestations, diagnosis, management, treatment, and prognosis. Since it is difficult to diagnose hepatic PEComas by imaging, the patients were diagnosed by tumor tissue examination such as immunohistochemistry, which was positive for HMB-45, Melan-A, and SMA on all slides. The tumor was composed of diverse tissues including smooth muscle, adipose tissue, and thick-walled blood vessels. During the follow-up period, one of the tumors was malignant(double-positive for CD34 and Ki-67) and recurred 3 months after surgery. In addition, malignant hepatic PEComas were reviewed in the literature, indicating that the majority of hepatic PEComas are benign, but few hepatic PEComas exhibit malignant behaviors in older female patients(>50 years of age) with abdominal discomfort and pain, larger tumor size(>10 cm), or positive staining for CD34 and Ki-67. In conclusion, there is no effective method to diagnose PEComas. Currently, the diagnosis of PEComas depends on immunohistochemical staining. 13Antidiabetic effect of a novel non-thiazolidinedione PPAR γ/α agonist on ob/ob mice显示文摘Aim:To study whether T33,a new synthesized non-thiazolidinedione(TZD)per-oxisome proliferator-activated receptor(PPAR)γ/α dual agonist has an antidia-betic effect on ob/ob mice.Methods:Ob/ob mice were treated with 4 mg/kg or 8mg/kg T33 by gavage for 20 d.Blood glucose levels were measured regularly.Anoral glucose tolerance test(OGTT)and an insulin tolerance test(ITT)were pre-formed on d 8 and d 12,respectively.The levels of insulin,triglyceride and freefatty acid(FFA)in the serum were measured at the end of administration.Theintramuscular and liver triglyceride content was also determined.Results:T33reduced the hyperglycemia,hyperinsulinemia and hyperlipidemia of the ob/obmice.The OGTT and ITT showed that the insulin resistance state of the ob/obmice was obviously ameliorated after T33 treatment.After 20 d treatment with 8mg/kg T33,the triglyceride content in the gastrocnemius muscle decreasedsignificantly.T33 did not have any effect on triglyceride content in the liver,whereas rosiglitazone significantly increased the hepatocyte lipid deposition.Conclusion:The PPARγ/α dual agonist T33 has antidiabetic and insulin-sensitiz-ing effects in ob/ob mice.It has the potential to be a new therapeutic candidate forthe treatment of type 2 diabetes.Xi HU Ying FENG Yu SHEN Xiao-feng ZHAO Juan-hong YU Yu-she YANG Ying LENG 2006Acta Pharmacologica Sinica2006,27,10:4
14Dipeptidyl peptidase 4 inhibitor sitagliptin protected against dextran sulfate sodium-induced experimental colitis by potentiating the action of GLP-2显示文摘Dipeptidyl peptidase 4(DPP4),a ubiquitously expressed protease that cleaves off the N-terminal dipeptide from proline and alanineon the penultimate position,has important roles in many physiological processes.In the present study,experimental colitis wasinduced in mice receiving 3%dextran sulfate sodium(DSS)in drinking water.We found that mice with DSS-induced colitis hadsignificantly increased intestinal DPP activity and decreased serum DPP activity,suggesting a probable correlation of DPP4 withexperimental colitis.Then,we investigated whether sitagliptin,a specific DPP4 inhibitor could protect against DSS-induced colitis.We showed that oral administration of single dose of sitagliptin(30 mg/kg) on D7 remarkably inhibited DPP enzyme activity in bothserum and intestine of DSS-induced colitic mice.Repeated administration of sitagliptin(10,30 mg/kg,bid,from D0 to D8)significantly ameliorated DSs-induced colitis,including reduction of disease activity index(DAl)and body weight loss,improvementof histological score and colon length.Sitagliptin administration dose-dependently increased plasma concentrations of active formof GLP-1 and colonic expression of GLP-2R.Co-administration of GLP-2R antagonist GLP-23(500 μg/kg,bid,sc)abolished theprotective effects of sitagliptin in DSS-induced colitic mice.Moreover,sitagliptin administration significantly decreased the ratio ofapoptotic cells and increased the ratio of proliferative cels in colon epithelium of DSs-induced colitic mice,and this effect was alsoblocked by GLP-2^3-33.Taken together,our results demonstrate that sitagliptin could attenuate DSS-induced experimental colits andthe effects can be attributed to the enhancement of GLP-2 action and the subsequent protective effects on intestinal barier byinhibiting epithelial cells apoptosis and promoting their proliferation.These findings suggest sitagliptin as a novel therapeuticapproach for the treatment of ulcerative colitis.Meng-meng Ning Wen-ji Yang Wen-bo Guan Yi-pei Gu Ying Feng Ying Leng 2020Acta Pharmacologica Sinica2020,41,11:4
15Remodeling of skin nerve fibers during burn wound healing显示文摘Burn wound healing involves a complex sequence of processes.Recent studies have revealed that skin reinnervation may have an impact on physiological wound repair.Few studies have addressed the process of reinnervation and morphological changes in regenerated nerve fibers.The regeneration of neurites during full-thickness burn wound healing was determined by immunofluorescent staining using an anti-neurofilament protein monoclonal antibody,and three-dimensional morphology was observed under a laser scanning confocal microscope.Morphology and the volume fraction of collagen and nerve fibers were measured.Skin reinnervation increased during wound healing,peaked during the proliferative scar stage,and then decreased to lower levels during the maturation period.The results from the skin nerve fibers correlated with those from collagen using semi-quantitative analysis.Disintegration and fragmentation were observed frequently in samples from the proliferative stage,and seldom occurred during the maturation stage.There was a remodeling process of regenerated nerve fibers during wound healing,which comprised changed innervation density and topical morphology.The mechanism of remodeling for nerve fibers requires further investigation.Yongqiang Feng Xia Li Rui Zhang Yu Liu Tingting Leng Yibing Wang 2010Neural Regeneration Research2010,5,19:4

17Pathological features of COVID-19-associated lung injury:a preliminary proteomics report based on clinical samples显示文摘The COVID-19 pandemic has emerged as a global health emergency due to its association with severe pneumonia and relative high mortality.However,the molecular characteristics and pathological features underlying COVID-19 pneumonia remain largely unknown.To characterize molecular mechanisms underlying COVID-19 pathogenesis in the lung tissue using a proteomic approach,fresh lung tissues were obtained from newly deceased patients with COVID-19 pneumonia.After virus inactivation,a quantitative proteomic approach combined with bioinformatics analysis was used to detect proteomic changes in the SARS-CoV-2-infected lung tissues.We identified significant differentially expressed proteins involved in a variety of fundamental biological processes including cellular metabolism,blood coagulation,immune response,angiogenesis,and cell microenvironment regulation.Several inflammatory factors were upregulated,which was possibly caused by the activation of NF-κB signaling.Extensive dysregulation of the lung proteome in response to SARS-CoV-2 infection was discovered.Our results systematically outlined the molecular pathological features in terms of the lung response to SARS-CoV-2 infection,and provided the scientific basis for the therapeutic target that is urgently needed to control the COVID-19 pandemic.Ling Leng Ruiyuan Cao Jie Ma Danlei Mou Yunping Zhu Wei Li Luye Lv Dunqin Gao Shikun Zhang Feng Gong Lei Zhao Bintao Qiu Haiping Xiang Zhongjie Hu Yingmei Feng Yan Dai Jiang Zhao Zhihong Wu Hongjun Li Wu Zhong 2020Signal Transduction and Targeted Therapy2020,5,1:4
18Effect of grain size on dielectric and ferroelectric properties of nanostructured Ba_0.8)Sr_(0.2)TiO_(3) ceramics显示文摘Barium strontium titanate( Ba_0.8)Sr_(0.2)TiO_(3),BST)nanocrystalline ceramics have been synthesized by high energy ball milling.As the sintering temperature increases from 1200℃to 1350℃,the average grain size of BST ceramics increases from 86 nm to 123 nm.The X-ray diffraction(XRD)studies show that these ceramics are tetragonal.The phase and grain size of the sintered pellets have been estimated from the XRD patterns,scanning electron microscopy(SEM)and transmission electron microscopy(TEM)images.The effect of grain size on dielectric and ferroelectric properties is studied.The dielectric and piezoelectric parameters are greatly improved at room temperature with increase in grain size.The Curie transition temperature is found to shift slightly towards higher temperatures as the grain increases from 86 nm to 123 nm.The coercive field decreases and the remnant polarization and spontaneous polarization increase as the grain size of BST nano ceramics increases.These ceramics are promising materials for tunable capacitor device applications.Venkata Ramana MUDINEPALLI Leng FENG Wen-Chin LIN B.S.MURTY 2015Journal of Advanced Ceramics2015,4,1:3
19Structure and composition study of carbon-doped titanium oxide film combined with first principles显示文摘Carbon-doped titanium oxide(C/Ti-O)films were prepared on Si(100)wafer,stainless steel(type 304)and glass by reactive magnetron sputtering(RMS)using CO2 gas as carbon and oxygen source under room temperature(RT).X-ray diffraction(XRD)and X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy(XPS)were used to analyze structure and composition of the as-prepared C/Ti-O film.It could be observed from XRD that the as-prepared C/Ti-O film contained TiO crystal phase structure.Ti2p XPS spectrum of the as-prepared C/Ti-O film showed that the valences of titanium were made up of Ti^(2+),Ti^(3+)and Ti^(4+).C1s XPS spectrum revealed that carbon was doped into titanium oxide based on the existence of the typical Ti-C bond.The optical absorption curve by ultraviolet-visible(UV-Vis)spectrophotometer showed that the C/Ti-O film appeared the remarkable red shift of absorption edge,which contributed to C substitution in O sites in amorphous TiO_(2).Photocatalysis test using methyl orange(MO)as indicator confirmed that the as-prepared C/Ti-O film had photocatalytic activity.Combined with the results of the tests and first-principles calculations,a potential photocatalysis mechanism was proposed.Wei MAI Feng WEN Dong XIE Yongxiang LENG Zhonglin MU 2014Journal of Advanced Ceramics2014,3,1:3
20Role of laparoscopy in the diagnosis and treatment of adnexal masses显示文摘Background Laparoscopy has been accepted for years as a management of benign ovarian tumors. The aim of this study was to estimate the feasibility and safety of laparoscopy in diagnosis and management of adnexal masses. Methods A total of 2083 patients with benign adnexal mass were treated by laparoscopy at Peking Union Medical College Hospital from January 2000 to December 2003. Their clinical data were reviewed retrospectively. All the adnexal masses suspicious of malignancy at the time of laparoscopy were sent for frozen section evaluation intraoperatively. The rates of unexpected intracystic vegetation and low malignant potential (LMP) tumor or malignancy were investigated. The sensitivity, specificity, positive predictive value, and negative predictive value of laparoscopic diagnosis for LMP or ovarian malignancies were calculated. The ratios were compared by Chi-square test and the continuous variables were tested using two-tailed t test. Results Of the 2083 patients, 16 had LMP or invasive tumors (0.77%), among which 14 were diagnosed histologically intraoperatively and 2 postoperatively. Fifty-five (2.6%) of the 2083 patients had unexpected intracystic vegetations. Their frozen sections showed benign tumors in 41 (74.5%), LMP tumors in 8 (14.5%), and focal invasive ovarian cancers (stage Ic) in 6 (10.9%). The final pathological diagnosis were benign tumors in 41 (74.5%), LMP tumors 7 (12.7%), and focal invasive ovarian cancers (stage Ic) in 7 (12.7%). Laparoscopy achieved a sensitivity of 87.5%, specificity of 98%, positive predictive value of 25.5%, and negative predictive value of 99.9% in the diagnosis of ovarian malignancies. 2067 cases with benign adnexal masses underwent laparoscopy successfully. No conversion to laparotomy, or intra- and postoperative complications in this series. Of the 16 patients with LMP or invasive ovarian cancer, seven underwent laparoscopic surgery including immediate staging laparoscopy in 3. The mean follow-up was 17.3 months for the 16 patients. Among them, 1 developed a recurrent LMP tumor in the contralateral ovary 36 months after laparoscopic salpingo-oophorectomy, and received subsequent laparoscopic cystectomy and pelvic lymph node sampling; the others had no evidence of recurrent tumor during the follow-up.
