| 4 | Water regime-nitrogen fertilizer incorporation interaction:Field study on methane and nitrous oxide emissions from a rice agroecosystem in Harbin, China显示文摘Water regime and nitrogen(N) fertilizer are two important factors impacting greenhouse gases(GHG) emission from paddy field, whereas their effects have not been well studied in cold region. In this study, we conducted a two-year field experiment to study the impacts of water regime and N fertilizer on rice yields and GHG emissions in Harbin, China, a cold region located in high latitudes. Our results showed that intermittent irrigation significantly decreased methane(CH_4) emission compared with continuous flooding, however,the decrement was far lower than the global average level. The N_2O emissions were very small when flooded but peaked at the beginning of the disappearance of floodwater. The N fertilizer treatments increased CH_4 emissions at low level(75 kg N/ha). But both CH_4 and N_2O emissions were uninfluenced at the levels of 150 kg N/ha and 225 kg N/ha. Rice yields increased under intermittent irrigation and were highest at the level of 150 kg N/ha. | 5 | Application of Stochastic Resonance Signal Recovery显示文摘Stochastic resonance(SR) enhances the nonlinear system behavior with the assistance of noise,including the sensitivity and selectivity of the response to the exterior stimulus. The energy-transfer mechanism makes the weak information revealed in the output spectrum,while the time-waveform is distorted. The distortion analysis was made both from the particle's dynamics and signal processing. The factors causing the deviation in the output are presented and the function of the recovery system is proposed. By the investigation of the particle's motion track in the bistable system and the suggested recovery system,the influences of noise and system parameters on the recovery course were discussed. Moreover,the pulse distortion appearing the recovery waveform caused by the particle's transitions at the bistable potential' inflexions was explained. Due to different characteristics,cascaded-bistable SR or mono-stable SR was introduced to process different types of signals. The final recovery signal is just the suggested recovery system's response to the SR output. Meanwhile,the recovery system is optional,as parameter-tuned or parameter-fixed. Since the method requires no average processing,it is applicable to a single sample with limited length. The numerical simulations reveal that the SR recovery method can recover the waveform containing weak information submerged in noise effectively. The engineering application to the vibration analysis of metal cutting chose the combination of mono-stable SR and the parameter-fixed recovery system. | 6 | Antidiabetic effect of a novel non-thiazolidinedione PPAR γ/α agonist on ob/ob mice显示文摘Aim:To study whether T33,a new synthesized non-thiazolidinedione(TZD)per-oxisome proliferator-activated receptor(PPAR)γ/α dual agonist has an antidia-betic effect on ob/ob mice.Methods:Ob/ob mice were treated with 4 mg/kg or 8mg/kg T33 by gavage for 20 d.Blood glucose levels were measured regularly.Anoral glucose tolerance test(OGTT)and an insulin tolerance test(ITT)were pre-formed on d 8 and d 12,respectively.The levels of insulin,triglyceride and freefatty acid(FFA)in the serum were measured at the end of administration.Theintramuscular and liver triglyceride content was also determined.Results:T33reduced the hyperglycemia,hyperinsulinemia and hyperlipidemia of the ob/obmice.The OGTT and ITT showed that the insulin resistance state of the ob/obmice was obviously ameliorated after T33 treatment.After 20 d treatment with 8mg/kg T33,the triglyceride content in the gastrocnemius muscle decreasedsignificantly.T33 did not have any effect on triglyceride content in the liver,whereas rosiglitazone significantly increased the hepatocyte lipid deposition.Conclusion:The PPARγ/α dual agonist T33 has antidiabetic and insulin-sensitiz-ing effects in ob/ob mice.It has the potential to be a new therapeutic candidate forthe treatment of type 2 diabetes. | Xi HU Ying FENG Yu SHEN Xiao-feng ZHAO Juan-hong YU Yu-she YANG Ying LENG | 2006 | Acta Pharmacologica Sinica2006,27,10: | 4 |
| 7 | Retrospective analysis of interventional treatment of hepatic metastasis from gastroenteropancreatic neuroendocrine tumors显示文摘Objective: To analyze the angiography appearance of liver metastases from gastroenteropancreatic neuroendocrine tumors(GEP-NETs),and evaluate the clinical efficacy and prognostic factors of interventional treatment for hepatic metastases.Methods: Fifty GEP-NETs patients with hepatic metastases were treated from January 2012 to December 2016,and received transarterial embolization(TAE) in the hepatic tumor or hepatic arterial infusion chemotherapy(HAIC).All patients received 179 times of the intervention therapy in total.Results: Blood supplies were identified in the 50 cases with angiography,which showed that 35 cases had abundant vessels,while 15 cases had poor blood supply.Twenty-two cases were found either collateral blood supply,or portal vein invasion or arterial-portal vein fistula.The best curative efficacy was complete remission(CR)in 4 cases,partial remission(PR) in 28 cases and stable disease(SD) in 18 cases during the process of treatment.The angiography(P=0.047) and the frequency of intervention(P=0.037) showed significantly statistical difference with Kaplan-Meier analysis.The Cox analysis showed that more than 3 times of interventional therapy was an independent prognostic factor.Conclusions: Interventional treatment is safe and effective for GEP-NETs,and is beneficial to patients with main hepatic metastases after endocrine therapy. | Peng Liu Xu Zhu Jie Li Ming Lu Jiahua Leng Ying Li Jiangyuan Yu | 2017 | Chinese Journal of Cancer Research2017,29,6: | 4 |
| 8 | Dipeptidyl peptidase 4 inhibitor sitagliptin protected against dextran sulfate sodium-induced experimental colitis by potentiating the action of GLP-2显示文摘Dipeptidyl peptidase 4(DPP4),a ubiquitously expressed protease that cleaves off the N-terminal dipeptide from proline and alanineon the penultimate position,has important roles in many physiological processes.In the present study,experimental colitis wasinduced in mice receiving 3%dextran sulfate sodium(DSS)in drinking water.We found that mice with DSS-induced colitis hadsignificantly increased intestinal DPP activity and decreased serum DPP activity,suggesting a probable correlation of DPP4 withexperimental colitis.Then,we investigated whether sitagliptin,a specific DPP4 inhibitor could protect against DSS-induced colitis.We showed that oral administration of single dose of sitagliptin(30 mg/kg) on D7 remarkably inhibited DPP enzyme activity in bothserum and intestine of DSS-induced colitic mice.Repeated administration of sitagliptin(10,30 mg/kg,bid,from D0 to D8)significantly ameliorated DSs-induced colitis,including reduction of disease activity index(DAl)and body weight loss,improvementof histological score and colon length.Sitagliptin administration dose-dependently increased plasma concentrations of active formof GLP-1 and colonic expression of GLP-2R.Co-administration of GLP-2R antagonist GLP-23(500 μg/kg,bid,sc)abolished theprotective effects of sitagliptin in DSS-induced colitic mice.Moreover,sitagliptin administration significantly decreased the ratio ofapoptotic cells and increased the ratio of proliferative cels in colon epithelium of DSs-induced colitic mice,and this effect was alsoblocked by GLP-2^3-33.Taken together,our results demonstrate that sitagliptin could attenuate DSS-induced experimental colits andthe effects can be attributed to the enhancement of GLP-2 action and the subsequent protective effects on intestinal barier byinhibiting epithelial cells apoptosis and promoting their proliferation.These findings suggest sitagliptin as a novel therapeuticapproach for the treatment of ulcerative colitis. | Meng-meng Ning Wen-ji Yang Wen-bo Guan Yi-pei Gu Ying Feng Ying Leng | 2020 | Acta Pharmacologica Sinica2020,41,11: | 4 |

| 11 | Insights into stem cell therapy for diabetic retinopathy: a bibliometric and visual analysis显示文摘Stem cells have been confirmed to be involved in the occurrence and development of diabetic retinopathy;however,the underlying mechanisms remain unclear.In this study,we used Citespace software to visually analyze 552 articles exploring the stem cell-based treatment of diabetic retinopathy over the past 20 years,which were included in the Web of Science Core Collection.We found the following:(1)a co-citation analysis of the references cited by all 552 articles indicated 15 clusters.In cluster#0,representing the stem cell field,some highly cited landmark studies emerged between 2009–2013.For example,endothelial progenitor cells and diabetic retinopathy gradually received the full attention of scholars,in terms of their relationship and therapeutic prospects.Some researchers also verified the potential of adipose-derived stem cells to differentiate into stable retinal perivascular cells,using a variety of animal models of retinal vascular disease.All of these achievements provided references for the subsequent stem cell research.(2)An analysis of popular keywords among the 552 articles revealed that,during the past 20 years,a relative increase in basic research articles examining stem cells and endothelial progenitor cells for the treatment of diabetic retinopathy was observed.The contents of these articles primarily involved the expression of vascular endothelial growth factor,vascular regeneration,oxidative stress,and inflammatory response.(3)A burst analysis of keywords used in the 552 articles indicated that genetic and cytological research regarding the promotion of angiogenesis was an issue of concern from 2001 to 2012,including several studies addressing the expression of various growth factor genes;from 2014 to 2020,mouse models of diabetic retinopathy were recognized as mature animal models,and the most recent research has focused on macular degeneration,macular edema,neurodegeneration,and inflammatory changes in diabetic animal models.(4)Globally,the current authoritative studies have focused on basic research towards the stem cell treatment of diabetic retinopathy.Existing clinical studies are of low quality and have insufficient evidence levels,and their findings have not yet been widely accepted in clinical practice.Major challenges during stem cell transplantation remain,including stem cell heterogeneity,cell delivery,and the effective homing of stem cells to damaged tissue.However,clinical trials examining potential stem cell-based treatments of diabetic retinopathy,including the use of pluripotent stem cells,retinal pigment epithelial cells,bone marrow mesenchymal stem cells,and endothelial progenitor cells,are currently ongoing,and high-quality clinical evidence is likely to appear in the future,to promote clinical transformation. | Xiang-Jun Li Chun-Yan Li Dan Bai Ying Leng | 2021 | Neural Regeneration Research2021,16,1: | 3 |
| 12 | MicroRNA-mediated Silencing of RhoC Inhibits Tumor Invasion and Increases Chemosensitivity to Paclitaxel in SKOV3 Cells in vitro显示文摘RhoC is a member of the Ras-homologous family of genes which are implicated in tumorigenesis and tumor progression. Up-regulation of RhoC is associated with tumor progression in ovarian carcinoma and RhoC is significantly correlated with the invasive capability of ovarian cancer cell lines in vitro. We developed a system that blocks RhoC in the human ovarian cancer SKOV3 cells using specific MicroRNA(miRNA) interference. By transfecting SKOV3 cells with the plasmid vector to express specific MiRNA that targets human RhoC, we were able to establish a stable clone in which RhoC expression was significantly downregulated. This resulted in the de-creased invasive potential of SKOV3 cells as well as increased chemosensitivity to paclitaxel. | 13 | Efficacy of Rebixiao Chinese herbal tablets and Chinese formula granules in acute gout arthritis patients:a randomized,multicenter,double-blind,controlled trial显示文摘OBJECTIVE:To evaluate the clinical efficacy and safety of Rebixiao(RBX)Chinese herbal tablets(CHT)and Chinese formula granules(CFG)in the treatment of acute gout arthritis(AGA).METHODS:This randomized,multicenter,double-blind,controlled trial included 165 AGA patients with the damp-heat symptom pattern who were randomly divided into an RBX CHT group and an RBX CFG group and treated for 7 d at three centers.The total effective rates of the joint symptom score,Traditional Chinese Medicine(TCM)symptoms score,erythrocyte sedimentation rate(ESR),and C-reactive protein(CRP)were used to evaluate the clinical efficacy.Safety assessments were also performed.RESULTS:Of the 165 enrolled patients,147 completed the clinical observation.There was no difference in baseline between the two groups.The total effective rates of the joint symptom score were 94.36%and 97.36%,and the total effective rates of the TCM symptoms score were 95.77%and 97.36%in the CFG group and CHT group,respectively.No statistical difference was found between the two groups(P>0.05).Additionally,ESR and CRP were similar in both groups(P>0.05).Furthermore,treatment efficacy regarding TCM and joint symptoms,the ESR,and CRP were consistent within each center and among the different centers(P>0.05).In addition,the incidence of adverse events was 4.22%and 2.63%in the CFG group and CHT group,respectively,and no difference was observed between the two groups(P>0.05).CONCLUSION:RBX CFG and CHT have significant and similar efficacy in the treatment of AGA,and CFG did not increase adverse side effects. | Wang Shasha Zhang Ying Dai Min Yang Min Leng Wenfei Peng Xiufeng Li Guojun Yang Jinbing Gan Jianping Zhu Fenglin Li Yanping Wu Bin | 2020 | Journal of Traditional Chinese Medicine2020,40,4: | 3 |

| 15 | The Correlation Between Decreased Ornithine Level and Alleviation of Rheumatoid Arthritis Patients Assessed by a Randomized,Placebo-Controlled,Double-Blind Clinical Trial of Sinomenine显示文摘Sinomenine(SIN)is commonly used as part of rheumatoid arthritis(RA)therapy in China,but there is still no published evidence of the efficacy of SIN monotherapy.This work investigates the efficacy and safety of SIN in treating RA patients and analyzes the correlation between ornithine level and the alleviation of disease activity in RA patients.In this 24 week,randomized,placebo-controlled,double-blind clinical trial,people with mild to moderate RA were randomly assigned(1:1:1,stratified by hospital)to receive SIN(120 mg,twice daily),methotrexate(MTX)(10 mg per week),or SIN+MTX therapy.The primary outcome was the proportion of patients who achieved a 50%improvement in the American College of Rheumatology(ACR50)criteria at week 24 and who showed improvement according to the clinical disease activity index(CDAI).In this prospective subgroup analysis,we also assessed whether the 24-week alterations of disease activity in the treatment group were significantly correlated to the levels of blood ornithine.Of the 135 enrolled participants,38,39,and 36 patients were treated with SIN,MTX,and SIN+MTX,respectively.In the SIN-treated group,52.63%of patients achieved ACR50 after 24-weeks of treatment,which was comparable to the results in the MTX-treated and SIN+MTX-treated groups.Hepatic and gastrointestinal disorders were the main adverse events;however,the ratio of patients suffering from hepatic disorder in the SIN group(1/38)was much lower than that in the MTX(10/39)and SIN+MTX(8/36)groups.A total of 221 serum samples were collected at the four follow-up time points in the three treatments,and the levels of ornithine,citrulline,and arginine were obtained through ultrahigh performance liquid chromatography-quadrupole time-of-flight mass spectrometry(UHPLC-Q-TOF/MS).The serum ornithine level decreased after the 24-week treatment along with a decrease in disease activity,and may reflect therapeutic responses with a sensitivity value of 80%.In conclusion,SIN revealed a comparable efficacy to MTX for treating RA patients,but with fewer side effects.In addition,the serum ornithine level was found for the first time to have a close correlation with the alleviation of RA,which shows the value of this measure as an assessment indicator of drugs in treating RA. | Ying Shi Hu-Dan Pan Jian-Lin Wu Qing-Hua Zou Xin-Yi Xie Hong-Gang Li Hua Zhou Xi-Qing Bian Wen-Fei Leng Can-Jian Wang Ya-Feng Wang Yong-Fei Fang Liang Liu | 2022 | Engineering2022,,9: | 2 |
