Precipitation seesaw phenomenon and its formation mechanism in the eastern and western parts of Northwest China during the flood season显示文摘Extending across three major plateaus, namely the Qinghai-Tibetan Plateau, the Inner Mongolia-Xinjiang Plateau and the Loess Plateau,Northwest China has the complex terrain and spatio-temporal climate variations, and is affected by the interactions among different circulation systems, such as the summer monsoon, the westerlies and the plateau monsoon. The understanding of the climate variability,as well as its characteristics and evolution mechanisms in this area has been limited so far.In this paper, the precipitation characteristics and mechanisms in the eastern and western parts of Northwest China during the flood season are compared and analyzed based on the data from 192 national meteorological observational sites in Northwest China in 1961-2016.The results show that, divided by the northern boundary of the East Asian summer monsoon, there are huge differences in the precipitation variation characteristics between the eastern and western parts. The inter-annual variations, interdecadal variations and total trends in the two parts all show a significant seesaw phenomenon. Moreover,it is found that the seesaw phenomenon of precipitation variation is closely related to the opposite variation between the East Asian summer monsoon index(MI)and the westerly circulation index(WI).In addition, the inverse variations on different time scales are only related to the contributions of precipitation at specific grades.Besides,in the two matching patterns of precipitation in the seesaw phenomenon, the middle and high latitudes are occupied by the'high-low-high'wave trains in the precipitation increases in the east of Northwest China(ENWC)and decreases in the west of Northwest China(WNWC)pattern, meaning precipitation increases in ENWC and decreases in WNWC.Whereas the opposite'low-high-low'wave trains at 500 hPa height are observed in the middle and high latitudes in the WH-EA pattern at 500 hPa height, meaning precipitation increases in WNWC and decreases in ENWC.Thus, the atmosphere circulation situation with two wave train types can support both the precipitation seesaw phenomenon and the opposite variation between MI and WI.Moreover, the seesaw phenomenon is shown to be related to the separate or joint effects of the South Asian High,ENSO and the plateau heating on the common but opposite effect on the summer monsoon and the westerlies,in which the South Asian High probably plays a more critical role. This study could deepen the scientific understanding of precipitation mechanisms and improve the weather forecast technology in Northwest China during the flood season. | Qiang ZHANG Jingjing LIN Weicheng LIU Lanying HAN | 2019 | Science China Earth Sciences2019,62,12: | 11

Deep level defects in high temperature annealed InP显示文摘b Deep level defects in high temperature annealed semi-condctng InP have been studied by deep level transient spectroscopy (DLTS). There is obvious difference in the deep defects between as-grown InP InP annealed in phosphorusambient and iron phosphide ambient, as far as their quantity and coneentration are concerned. Only two defects at 0.24 and 0.64 eV can be detected in InP annealed in iron phosphide amibent, while defects at 0.24,0.42,0.54 and 0.64 eV have been detected in InP annealed in phosphorus ambient, in contrast to two defects at 0.49 and 0.64 eV or one defect at 0.13 eV in as-grown InP. A defect suppression phenomenon related to iron diffusion process has been observed. The formation mechanism and the nature of the defects have been discussed. | DONG Zhiyuan ZHAO Youwen ZENG Yiping DUAN Manlong LIN Lanying | 2004 | Science China(Technological Sciences)2004,47,3: | 2

Application of finite element analysis in properties test of finger-jointed lumber显示文摘Finger-jointed lumber production has now become the most extensively used method for spliced lumbers jointing together endwise. The properties of finger-jointed lumber are affected by many different factors such as the end-pressure.The main mechanical properties to be tested for struc-tural use finger-jointed lumber include the modulus of elasticity in static bending and the bending strength. The most commonly used method for testing these properties at present is the experi-mental test.In this study,we used finite element method to investigate the end-pressure range, the modulus of elasticity in static bending and the bending strength for Pinus sylvistriv var.finger-jointed lumber under three different fitness ratios(0 mm,0.1 mm,0.3 mm). With finite element analysis(FEA)modelling results compared with the experimental test results,it is possible to find the relationship between these two kinds of results and use the FEA to predict the properties of finger-jointed lumber. The FEA applied in the end pressure tests showed a narrower range com-pared with the modelling results. It indicated that the FEA could be used in the prediction of the end pressure for finger-jointed lumber. The modelling results for modulus of elasticity(MOE)test and bending strength(MOR)test showed about 20%discrepancies compared with the experimen-tal results. Moreover, the MOE modelling results showed the same trend as experimental results under three different fitness levels while the MOR modelling results showed the different trend. It can be concluded that the FEA is a feasible way in analysing the properties of finger-jointed lumber if the errors could be eliminated properly. Some modifications should be made in order to realize the prediction of the properties of finger-jointed lumber more accurately. | Sheng He Lanying Lin Zaixing Wu Zhangmin Chen | 2020 | Journal of Bioresources and Bioproducts2020,5,2: | 0
| 13 | Structure,Fluorescence and Stability of CdS Nanoparticles Prepared in Air显示文摘CdS nanoparticles were prepared in air and their stability by air annealing was studied. A small change in crystal structure and particle size was observed by air annealing, but a rapid reduction in fluorescence was found. Through investigation, it is revealed that it is the surface change or reconstruction rather than the variation of the size or structure that decreases the fluorescence. The emission of the particles consists with two peaks which are dependent on the excitation energy. The two peaks are considered to be arisen from 'two' different sizes of nanoparticles and may be explained in terms of selectively excited photoluminescence. Finally we discuss why the discrete state of nanoparticles are able to be resolved in the photoluminescence excitation spectrum, but could not be differentiated in the absorption spectrum. | Chen, Wei Lin, Zhaojun Wang, Zhangguo Xu, Yan Lin, Lanying

Evaluation of Strength Performance of Finger-jointed Lumbers Using Three Kinds of Nondestructive Techniques显示文摘Resonance flexural vibration(Fast Fourier Transform, FFT), ultrasonic wave(Pundit) and stress wave(Metriguard) techniques were examined as means of evaluating the static modulus of elasticity (MOE) and predicting the modulus of rupture (MOR) of finger-jointed lumber specimens made with four kinds of Eucalyptus (Eucalyptus. citriodora, E. exserta, E. grandis x E. urophylla and E. grandis). Dynamic MOE was calculated from frequency and time obtained from forced vibrations and sounds induced in the four species of finger-jointed specimens. It was found that correlation coefficients between density and static MOE and dynamic MOE were statistically significant at the 0.01 level. And it was also found that the three nondestructive techniques can provide rapid and accurate means to determine the MOE, and the dynamic MOE was more accurate to predict static MOE than density. But the correlation coefficient between dynamic MOE, static MOE and MOR were lower than results reported by other researchers for solid wood, and were not statistically significant. It can be concluded that the three nondestructive techniques are useful for evaluating the MOE, but not suitable for predicting the MOR of finger-jointed. | LIN Lanying FU Feng | 2007 | Chinese Forestry Science and Technology2007,6,3: | 0
Segregation of Eucalyptus Lumbers for Finger-jointed Using Longitudinal Vibration显示文摘The variation in lumber quality within the supply of eucalypt is large. Effective segregation of the lumber according to 'fitness for purpose ' is fundamental to enabling the capture of greater value for the finger-jointed. This paper deals with the longitudinal vibration technique as a means of assessing modulus of elasticity (MOE) of solid and finger-jointed specimens made with Eucalyptus grandis × E. urophylla and E. grandis. Dynamic MOE was calculated from resonance frequencies obtained from longitudinal vibration. The dynamic MOE was well correlated to the static bending MOE for solid and finger-jointed lumber from the two eucalyptuses. Correlation coefficients were obtained for the regression of dynamic MOE on static bending MOE for solid and finger-jointed lumber, and were statistically significant. Although the correlation coefficient of finger-jointed was lower than that of solid lumber, the results indicated that the static bending MOE of finger-jointed was strongly correlated with the dynamic MOE of solid lumber, namely, the solid lumber with higher dynamic MOE can produce higher bending MOE finger-jointed. It can be concluded that the longitudinal vibration technique may be useful as a nondestructive method for segregating lumbers for finger-jointed. | LIN Lanying FU Feng Research Institute of Wood Industry, Chinese Academy of Forestry, Beijing 100091, P.R. | 16 | Effect of Metal Oxide on Electrical Resistivity of Conductive Wood Charcoal显示文摘To analyze the effect of metal oxide on electrical resistivity of conductive wood charcoal, wood powder of Masson pine was mixed with ferric oxide (Fe_2O_3) and nickel oxide (NiO), respectively, and then the mixed powders were carbonized at high temperature in a laboratory-scale tube furnace in a nitrogen atmosphere. DCY-3 resistivity tester was used to measure electrical resistivity of conductive wood charcoal. When carbonization temperature was 1200 ℃, the electrical resistivity of controlsamples, Fe_2O_3 (4%) added samples, and NiO (4%) added samples was 0.104 Ω·lcm, 0.071 Ω·lcm, and 0.066 Ω·lcm, respectively. When carbonization temperature was 1 500 ℃, the electrical resistivity of control samples, Fe_2O_3 (4%) added samples, and NiO(4%) added samples was 0.091 Ω·lcm,0.052 Ω·lcm, and 0.052Ω·lcm, respectively. And electrical resistivity of conductive wood charcoaldecreased from 0.060Ω·lcm to 0.041Ω·lcm when the ferric oxide addition increased from 2% to 10%.The results showed that the electrical resistivity of conductive wood charcoal decreased with the increase of carbonization temperature. Ferric oxide and nickel oxide could be used as catalysts todecrease electrical resistivity of conductive wood charcoal. And electrical resistivity of conductivewood charcoal reduced with increasing the ferric oxide addition. | HU Nana LIN Lanying FU Feng Research Institute of Wood Industry, Chinese Academy of Forestry, Beijing 100091, P. It is shown that I2 molecular clusters are formed in the cages of zeolite 5A,and it is also found that moIecuIar clusters which are bonded with intermoIecuIar forces have an important feature, namely, the intermolecular distance in molecular clusters can be changed on different preparing conditions and the blue shift of absorption edges can not be as the criterion of forming molecular clusters. | Zhaojun LIN Zhanguo WANG Wei CHEN and Lanying LIN(Lab. of Sendconductor Materials Science, Institute of Semiconductors, Chinese Academy of Sciences,Beijing 100083, China) | 1997 | Journal of Materials Science & Technology1997,13,6: | 0

Temperature characteristics of wood during microwave treatments显示文摘In order to investigate the temperature characteristics of wood during microwave(MW) treatments, optical fiber sensors were used to measure wood(Pinus sylvestris L. var. mongolica Litv.) temperatures. The results show that the development of internal temperatures in wood basically includes two patterns during the process of MW treatment. The first may be divided into three phases: warming, constant temperature, and a sharply rising phase. The second pattern may be divided into two phases: warming, and constant temperature. The maximum temperature(MT) and rate of temperature increase(RTI)rose as the microwave power increased. The initial wood moisture content decreased while the period of constant temperature fell. Temperatures varied in different positions in the wood. The order of MT and RTI levels were the upper surface, center, bottom surface and the end point.Along the direction of wood thickness, the closer the monitoring point was to the generator, the faster the temperature increased. The MT and RTI of the end point was a minimum value because of the rapid removal of steam. | Hui Xiao Lanying Lin Feng Fu | 2018 | Journal of Forestry Research2018,29,6: | 0
