| 1 | Changes of proteins induced by anticoagulants can be more sensitively detected in urine than in plasma显示文摘The most fundamental property of biomarkers is change.But changes are hard to maintain in plasma since it is strictly controlled by homeostatic mechanisms of the body.There is no homeostatic mechanism for urine.Besides,urine is partly a filtration of blood,and systematic information can be reflected in urine.We hypothesize that change of blood can be reflected in urine more sensitively.Here we introduce the interference into the blood by two anticoagulants heparin or argatroban.Plasma and urine proteins were profiled by LC-MS/MS and then validated by Western blot in totally six SD female rats before and after the drug treatments.In argatroban treated group,with exactly the same experimental procedure and the same cutoff value for both plasma and urine proteins,62 proteins changed in urine,only one of which changed in plasma.In heparin treated group,27 proteins changed in urine but only three other proteins changed in plasma.Both LC-MS/MS and Western blot analyses demonstrated drug-induced increases in transferrin and hemopexin levels in urine but not in plasma.Our data indicates that urine may serve as a source for more sensitive detection of protein biomarkers than plasma. | LI MengLin ZHAO MinDi GAO YouHe | 2014 | Science China(Life Sciences)2014,57,7: | 18 |
| 2 | Intelligent metasurface imager and recognizer显示文摘There is an increasing need to remotely monitor people in daily life using radio-frequency probe signals.However,conventional systems can hardly be deployed in real-world settings since they typically require objects to either deliberately cooperate or carry a wireless active device or identification tag.To accomplish complicated successive tasks using a single device in real time,we propose the simultaneous use of a smart metasurface imager and recognizer,empowered by a network of artificial neural networks(ANNs)for adaptively controlling data flow.Here,three ANNs are employed in an integrated hierarchy,transforming measured microwave data into images of the whole human body,classifying specifically designated spots(hand and chest)within the whole image,and recognizing human hand signs instantly at a Wi-Fi frequency of 2.4 GHz.Instantaneous in situ full-scene imaging and adaptive recognition of hand signs and vital signs of multiple non-cooperative people were experimentally demonstrated.We also show that the proposed intelligent metasurface system works well even when it is passively excited by stray Wi-Fi signals that ubiquitously exist in our daily lives.The reported strategy could open up a new avenue for future smart cities,smart homes,human-device interaction interfaces,health monitoring,and safety screening free of visual privacy issues. | Lianlin Li Ya Shuang Qian Ma Haoyang Li Hanting Zhao Menglin Wei Che Liu Chenglong Hao Cheng-Wei Qiu Tie Jun Cui | 2019 | Light(Science & Applications)2019,8,1: | 5 |
| 3 | Estimating global prevalence,incidence,and outcomes of nonalcoholic fatty liver disease from 2000 to 2021:systematic review and meta-analysis显示文摘Background:The increasing burden of non-alcoholic fatty liver disease(NAFLD)worldwide imposes an emerging public health issue.We perform the current study to estimate the global prevalence,incidence,disease progression,and clinical outcomes of NAFLD.Methods:A systematic search was conducted in Medline,Embase,Web of Science,Google Scholar,and Cochrane CENTRAL that screened articles in English language published from January 2000 to December 2021.NAFLD prevalence,incidence,rate of disease progression,and outcomes were calculated with the DerSimonian-Laird random effects model with arcsine transformation.Results:Our search identified 59,156 records,of which 578 studies fulfilled our inclusion criteria.The overall prevalence of NAFLD was 29.38%(95%confidence interval[CI]28.09-30.69)regardless of the diagnostic techniques.Looking at the group in which the diagnosis was made by ultrasound exclusively,the pooled prevalence was 30.49%(95%CI 29.55-31.43).NAFLD has become more prevalent during the year 2011-2021(31.63%,95%CI 30.23-33.04)compared with year 2000-2010(27.94%,95%CI 26.23-29.69).The pooled estimation of non-alcoholic steatohepatitis prevalence was 8.26%(95%CI 1.13-21.01),46.49%(95%CI 35.93-57.20),and 46.72%(95%CI 37.57-55.98)in general population,NAFLD patients,and severe/morbidly obese patients,respectively.Based on a total of 110,142 newly developed NAFLD patients,the pooled incident rate was estimated as 46.24 cases per 1000 person-years(95%CI 43.21-49.30).In patients with NAFLD,the incident rate of hepatocellular carcinoma was 1.46(95%CI 0.90-2.03)cases per 1000 person-years.The overall pooled estimate of NAFLD related mortality was 23.91(95%CI 13.55-37.18)death per 1000 person-years.Conclusions:The prevalence of NAFLD is increasing globally.It is contributing to poor clinical outcomes including hepatocellular carcinoma and death.Rising awareness and urgent actions are warranted to control the NAFLD pandemic across the globe.Registration:PROSPERO,No.CRD42020171104. | Jiaye Liu Ye Tian Xia Fu Chunyang Mu Menglin Yao Yinyun Ni Yong Liu Zhihui Li | 2022 | Chinese Medical Journal2022,,14: | 4 |
| 4 | The characterization of auditory brainstem response(ABR) waveforms: A study in tree shrews(Tupaia belangeri)显示文摘To characterize the patterns of ABR waves in tree shrews, we must understand the hearing sensitivity and auditory function of healthy adult tree shrews. Fifteen tree shrews(30 ears) were stimulated with clicks and tone-pips at 11 different frequencies from 1 to 60 kHz. The ABR waves were recorded and analyzed. The ABR consisted of five to seven positive waves in the first 10 ms after a click stimulus, and the average hearing threshold of component III was 27.86 ± 3.78 dB SPL. Wave III was the largest and most clear. The ABR threshold was related to the tone-pip sitmulus by a 'U' shaped curve. The sensitive frequency was approximately 8 kHz in tree shrews. The latencies systematically decreased with increasing stimulus frequencies. The ABR amplitudes of wave III increased as the sound pressure level increased. | 6 | Multi-scenario Simulation for 2060 and Driving Factors of the Eco-spatial Carbon Sink in the Beibu Gulf Urban Agglomeration, China显示文摘Since China announced its goal of becoming carbon-neutral by 2060, carbon neutrality has become a major target in the development of China's urban agglomerations. This study applied the Future Land Use Simulation(FLUS) model to predict the land use pattern of the ecological space of the Beibu Gulf urban agglomeration, in 2060 under ecological priority, agricultural priority and urbanized priority scenarios. The Integrated Valuation of Ecosystem Services and Trade-offs(In VEST) model was employed to analyse the spatial changes in ecological space carbon storage in each scenario from 2020 to 2060. Then, this study used a Geographically Weighted Regression(GWR) model to determine the main driving factors that influence the changes in land carbon sinking capacity. The results of the study can be summarised as follows: firstly, the agricultural and ecological priority scenarios will achieve balanced urban expansion and environmental protection of resources in an ecological space. The urbanized priority scenario will reduce the carbon sinking capacity. Among the simulation scenarios for 2060, carbon storage in the urbanized priority scenario will decrease by 112.26 × 10^(6) t compared with that for 2020 and the average carbon density will decrease by 0.96 kg/m^(2) compared with that for 2020. Carbon storage in the agricultural priority scenario will increase by 84.11 × 10^(6) t, and the average carbon density will decrease by 0.72 kg/m^(2). Carbon storage in the ecological priority scenario will increase by 3.03 × 10^(6) t, and the average carbon density will increase by 0.03 kg/m^(2). Under the premise that the population of the town will increases continuously, the ecological priority development approach may be a wise choice.Secondly, slope, distance to river and elevation are the most important factors that influence the carbon sink pattern of the ecological space in the Beibu Gulf urban agglomeration, followed by GDP, population density, slope direction and distance to traffic infrastructure.At the same time, urban space expansion is the main cause of the changes of this natural factors. | 9 | Revealing the crystallization process and realizing uniform 1.8 eV MA-based wide-bandgap mixed-halide perovskites via solution engineering显示文摘Wide-bandgap perovskites are recently drawing tremendous attention in the community for high-efficiency all-perovskite tandem solar cells.However,the formamidinium (FA^+) and methylammonium (MA^+) based wide-bandgap mixed halide perovskites suffered from high density of traps and pin-holes,respectively.Fundamental understanding on the crystallization and film formation processes are keys to overcome those challenges but not yet clearly understood.In this study,an in-situ photoluminescence technique was used to investigate the perovskite crystallization during the thermal annealing process.It is found that the crystallization of a mixed halide perovskite with bromide (Br^-) and iodine (I^-) ions following the Ostward ripening crystal growth.Interestingly,it is found that the initial nucleation reaction is quickly completed in the first few seconds,however,leaving the small crystals with inhomogeneous composition.The different aggregation affinities of such inhomogeneous small crystals provoke the formation of pin-holes during the thermal annealing process.By engineering the precursor solution to control the nucleation rate,the chemical composition of the small crystals has become homogenous.Uniform pin-hole free high Br-composited wide-bandgap MA0.9Cs0.1Pb(I0.6Br0.4)3 perovskite films with bandgap energy of 1.8 eV have been realized.The corresponding photovoltaic devices have achieved an encouraging device efficiency of 15.1% with superb photostability. | Yue-Min Xie Chunqing Ma Xiuwen Xu Menglin Li Yuhui Ma Jing Wang Hrisheekesh Thachoth Chandran Chun-Sing Lee Sai-Wing Tsang | 2019 | Nano Research2019,12,5: | 2 |
| 10 | Preparation of ZrB_(2)-MoSi_(2) high oxygen resistant coating using nonequilibrium state powders by self-propagating high-temperature synthesis显示文摘To achieve high oxygen blocking structure of the ZrB_(2)-MoSi_(2) coating applied on carbon structural material,ZrB_(2)-MoSi_(2) coating was prepared by spark plasma sintering(SPS)method utilizing ZrB_(2)-MoSi_(2) composite powders synthesized by self-propagating high-temperature synthesis(SHS)technique as raw materials.The oxygen blocking mechanism of the ZrB_(2)-MoSi_(2) coatings at 1973 K was investigated.Compared with commercial powders,the coatings prepared by SHS powders exhibited superior density and inferior oxidation activity,which significantly heightened the structural oxygen blocking ability of the coatings in the active oxidation stage,thus characterizing higher oxidation protection efficiency.The rise of MoSi_(2) content facilitated the dispersion of transition metal oxide nanocrystals(5-20 nm)in the SiO_(2) glass layer and conduced to the increasing viscosity,thus strengthening the inerting impact of the compound glass layer in the inert oxidation stage.Nevertheless,the ZrB_(2)-40 vol% MoSi_(2) coating sample prepared by SHS powders presented the lowest oxygen permeability of 0.3% and carbon loss rate of 0.29×10^(6)g·cm^(-2)·s^(-1).Owing to the gradient oxygen partial pressure inside the coatings,the Si-depleted layer was developed under the compound glass layer,which brought about acute oxygen erosion. | Menglin ZHANG Xuanru REN Mingcheng ZHANG Songsong WANG Li WANG Qingqing YANG Hongao CHU Peizhong FENG | 2021 | Journal of Advanced Ceramics2021,10,5: | 2 |
| 11 | One-bit quantization is good for programmable coding metasurfaces显示文摘The information-carrying programmable metasurfaces have found widespread applications in communication, sensing, and other related areas. However, there is a fundamental but unresolved problem,i.e., the rigorous understanding of the quantization of metasurface coding. Here, we theoretically investigate the performance difference between one-bit and continuous information-encoding metasurfaces. To this end,we derive analytical representations of system responses in various cases(single-input single-output, singleinput multiple-output, and multiple-input multiple-output). We analyze the impact of one-bit coding(in contrast to continuous coding) in terms of the resulting channel cross-talk and reduction of information capacity in various representative scenarios from wireless communication and holography. Our main finding indicates that the one-bit coding yields a satisfactory performance in most practical scenarios;we also show that in many cases there are smart ways to mildly relax optimization constraints in order to reduce the performance gap between the one-bit and continuous coding. | 17 | Effects of Three Commonly-used Diuretics on the Urinary Proteome显示文摘bstract Biomarker is the measurable change associated with a physiological or pathophysiological process. Unlike blood which has mechanisms to keep the internal environment homeostatic,rine is more likely to reflect changes of the body. As a result, urine is likely to be a better biomarker ource than blood. However, since the urinary proteome is affected by many factors, including iuretics, careful evaluation of those effects is necessary if urinary proteomics is used for biomarker iscovery. Here, we evaluated the effects of three commonly-used diuretics(furosemide, F; hydrochlorothiazide,H; and spirolactone, S) on the urinary proteome in rats. Urine samples were collected before and after intragastric administration of diuretics at therapeutic doses and the roteomes were analyzed using label-free liquid chromatography–tandem mass spectrometry LC–MS/MS). Based on the criteria of P 6 0.05, a fold change P2, a spectral count P5, and false ositive rate(FDR) 61%, 14 proteins(seven for F, five for H, and two for S) were identified by rogenesis LC–MS. The human orthologs of most of these 14 proteins are stable in the healthy uman urinary proteome, and ten of them are reported as disease biomarkers. Thus, our results uggest that the effects of diuretics deserve more attention in future urinary protein biomarker tudies. | 20 | SDCBP-AS1 destabilizesβ-catenin by regulating ubiquitination and SUMOylation of hnRNP K to suppress gastric tumorigenicity and metastasis显示文摘Background:Gastric cancer(GC)is among the most malignant tumors,yet the pathogenesis is not fully understood,especially the lack of detailed information about the mechanisms underlying long non-coding RNA(lncRNA)-mediated post-translational modifications.Here,the molecular mechanisms and clinical significance of the novel lncRNA syndecan-binding protein 2-antisense RNA 1(SDCBP2-AS1)in the tumorigenesis and progression of GC were investigated.Methods:The expression levels of SDCBP2-AS1 in 132 pairs of GC and adjacent normal tissues were compared,and the biological functions were assessed in vitro and in vivo.RNA pull-down and immunoprecipitation assays were conducted to clarify the interactions of SDCBP2-AS1 and heterogeneous nuclear ribonucleoprotein(hnRNP)K.RNA-sequencing,immunoprecipitation,immunofluorescence,and luciferase analyses were performed to investigate the functions of SDCBP2-AS1.Results:SDCBP2-AS1 was significantly downregulated in GC tissues and pre-dictive of poor patient prognosis.Silencing of SDCBP2-AS1 promoted the proliferation and migration of GC cells both in vitro and in vivo.Mechanically,SDCBP2-AS1 physically bound to hnRNP K to repress SUMOylation of hnRNP K and facilitated ubiquitination of hnRNP K andβ-catenin,thereby promoting the degradation ofβ-catenin in the cytoplasm.Silencing of SDCBP2-AS1 caused SUMOylation of hnRNP K and stabilizedβ-catenin activity,which altered tran-scription of downstream genes,resulting in tumorigenesis and metastasis of GC.Moreover,the knockdown of hnRNP K partially abrogated the effects of SDCBP2-AS1.Conclusions:SDCBP2-AS1 interacts with hnRNP K to suppress tumorigenesis and metastasis of GC and regulates post-transcriptional modifications of hnRNP K to destabilizeβ-catenin.These findings suggest SDCBP2-AS1 as a potential target for the treatment of GC. | Jing Han Menglin Nie Cong Chen Xiaojing Cheng Ting Guo Longtao Huangfu Xiaomei Li Hong Du Xiaofang Xing Jiafu Ji | 2022 | Cancer Communications2022,42,11: | 1 |
