1Tree ring based streamflow reconstruction for the Upper Yellow River over the past 1234 years显示文摘We established a Juniperus przewalski tree ring width chronology, based on tree ring cores collected from the A’nyêmaqên Mountains. Statistical analysis showed that the chronology was highly correlated with instrumental streamflow records from previous August to current July from the Tangnaihai Station in the upper reaches of the Yellow River, with a correlation coefficient of 0.656. Streamflow for the upper reaches of the Yellow River was reconstructed for the past 1234 years. Low flow periods for the 11-year averaged streamflow reconstruction were definite as lower than mean plus 1 standard deviation, and high flow periods were higher than mean minus 1 standard deviation. Over the past 1234 years, high flows occurred 18 times, and low flows occurred 12 times. The main low flow periods were identified as AD 1140–1156, AD 1295–1309, AD 1473–1500, and AD 1820–1847, and the main high flow periods were identified as AD 846–873, and AD 1375–1400. Extremely low streamflow over the reconstruction period was seen during the late 15th century, coinciding with a widespread drought phenomenon, which took place in the northeastern Tibetan Plateau over the same period. Reconstructed streamflow shows significant low-frequency variability, which is in line with drought variability of neighboring regions, as inferred from tree rings and other proxies. 2Electrospun Nanofibrous Materials for Wound Healing显示文摘Wound dressing materials which are capable of meeting the demands of accelerating wound closure and promoting wound healing process have being highly desired.Electrospun nanofibrous materials show great application potentials for wound healing owing to relatively large surface area,better mimicry of native extracellular matrix,adjustable waterproofness and breathability,and programmable drug delivery process.In this review article,we begin with a discussion of wound healing process and current commercial wound dressing materials.Then,we emphasize on electrospun nanofibrous materials for wound dressing,covering the efforts for controlling fiber alignment and morphology,constructing 3D scaffolds,developing waterproof-breathable membrane,governing drug delivery performance,and regulating stem cell behavior.Finally,we finish with challenges and future prospects of electrospun nanofibrous materials for wound dressings.Yuping Dong Yuqi Zheng Keyan Zhang Yueming Yao Lihuan Wang Xiaoran Li Jianyong Yu Bin Ding 2020Advanced Fiber Materials2020,2,4:10
3Response of Pinus taiwanensis growth to climate changes at its southern limit of Daiyun Mountain, China's Mainland Fujian Province显示文摘The Pinus taiwanensis trees of a Chinese endemic species form pure forests at infertile sites in humid subtropical China, which can aid soil reservation and ecological resiliency at such sites. Herein, we used dendrochronological methods to investigate the growth patterns and their relationship with climate by analyzing 158 cores of 79 P. taiwanensis trees at 4 sites in their southernmost distribution in China's Mainland at Daiyun Mountain in Fujian Province. Tree growths at sites with favorable conditions generally showed an age-related growth trend, which decreased from approximately 5 mm to 0.5 mm in about a century. Trees in moderately stressed environments established high growth in their juvenile periods but were highly susceptible to environmental stresses such as a sharp growth decline in the 1990 s. The temperature in February and the moisture in July are the major limiting factors for most of the tree growths, except for a few extremely stressed P. taiwanensis trees. The growth of the dwarf P. taiwanensis trees, with all ring diameters of the first 20 years less than 4 mm, is mainly limited by the dry climate in May. 4Difference in Tree Growth Responses to Climate at the Upper Treeline: Qilian Juniper in the Anyemaqen Mountains显示文摘Three ring-width chronologies were developed from Qilian Juniper (Sabina przewalskii Kom.) at the upper treeline along a west-east gradient in the Anyemaqen Mountains. Most chronological statistics, except for mean sensitivity (MS), decreased from west to east. The first principal component (PC1) loadings indicated that stands in a similar climate condition were most important to the variability of radial growth. PC2 loadings decreased from west to east, suggesting the difference of tree-growth between eastern and western Anyemaqen Mountains. Correlations between standard chronologies and climatic factors revealed different climatic in?uences on radial growth along a west-east gradient in the study area. Temperature of warm season (July-August) was important to the radial growth at the upper treeline in the whole study area. Precipitation of current May was an important limiting factor of tree growth only in the western (drier) upper treeline, whereas precipitation of current September limited tree growth in the eastern (wetter) upper treeline. Response function analysis results showed that there were regional differences between tree growth and climatic factors in various sampling sites of the whole study area. Temperature and precipitation were the important factors influencing tree growth in western (drier) upper treeline. 7Slip-Control Strategy of Dual Independent Electric Drive Tracked Vehicle显示文摘In order to improve the brake performance of a dual independent electric drive tracked vehicle,a dynamic model for braking situation was established.Then,a sliding model controller(SMC)with an auxiliary system was designed to control the slip and its effectiveness was proved.A hardware-in-loop simulation through MATLAB/XPC was compared with the normal SMC and normal integral sliding mode controller(ISMC),the results show that SMC with the auxiliary system has a better performance:a smaller overshoot and steady state error.The disturbance is suppressed effectively.In the initial speed of 65.km/h,the brake distance was shortened by 3.4%and 6.8%compared with the other two methods,respectively.Finally,initial speeds of 30-36.km/h tests was carried out on a flat soil road.Compared with a no-control brake,the displacement was shortened by 1.8.m.It demonstrates the effectiveness of the slip-control strategy.In the same situation,the error between the simulation and test is 18.1%,which validates the accuracy of models.Shuyang Zhang Yunan Zhang Keyan Ning Nanming Yan Qingfeng Fang 2019Journal of Beijing Institute of Technology2019,28,4:1
8A Thermoregulatory Flexible Phase Change Nonwoven for All‑Season High‑Efficiency Wearable Thermal Management显示文摘Phase change materials have a key role for wearable thermal management,but suffer from poor water vapor permeability,low enthalpy value and weak shape stability caused by liquid phase leakage and intrinsic rigidity of solid–liquid phase change materials.Herein,we report for the first time a versatile strategy for designed assembly of high-enthalpy flexible phase change nonwovens(GB-PCN)by wet-spinning hybrid grapheneboron nitride(GB)fiber and subsequent impregnating paraffins(e.g.,eicosane,octadecane).As a result,our GB-PCN exhibited an unprecedented enthalpy value of 206.0 J g^(−1),excellent thermal reliability and anti-leakage capacity,superb thermal cycling ability of 97.6%after 1000 cycles,and ultrahigh water vapor permeability(close to the cotton),outperforming the reported PCM films and fibers to date.Notably,the wearable thermal management systems based on GB-PCN for both clothing and face mask were demonstrated,which can maintain the human body at a comfortable temperature range for a significantly long time.Therefore,our results demonstrate huge potential of GB-PCN for human-wearable passive thermal management in real scenarios.Hanqing Liu Feng Zhou Xiaoyu Shi Keyan Sun Yan Kou Pratteek Das Yangeng Li Xinyu Zhang Srikanth Mateti Ying Chen Zhong‑Shuai Wu Quan Shi 2023Nano-Micro Letters2023,15,2:1
9Co-varying temperatures at 200 hPa over the Earth’s three poles显示文摘The Earth’s three poles,the North Pole,South Pole,and Third Pole(i.e.,the Tibetan Plateau and its surroundings),hold the largest amount of fresh water on Earth as glaciers,sea ice,and snow.They are sensitive to climate change.However,the linkages between climate variations of the three poles,particularly between the South Pole and Third Pole,remain largely unknown.The temperatures at 200 hPa over the three poles are the highest in the summer and are less affected by surface conditions,which could reflect large-scale dynamic linkages.Temperatures at 200 hPa peak the three poles during their respective hemispheric summer and exhibit in-phase variations on interdecadal timescales(10–100 years).The 200 hPa temperatures over the North Pole and South Pole were significantly correlated with the Brewer-Dobson circulation(BDC),which transports stratospheric ozone poleward,heating the air at 200 hPa.Tropopause warming over the Third Pole was found to enhance the poleward BDC,particularly to the South Pole,linking the Third Pole’s climate to the other two poles.Additionally,the Interdecadal Pacific Oscillation(IPO)also exhibits links with the 200 hPa temperatures of the three poles.Keyan FANG Peng ZHANG Jingming CHEN Deliang CHEN 2021Science China Earth Sciences2021,64,2:1

12Gene cloning,protein expression,and enzymatic characterization of a double-stranded RNA degrading enzyme in Apolygus lucorum显示文摘RNA interference(RNAi)is a powerful tool that post-transcriptionally silences target genes in eukaryotic cells.However,silencing efficacy varies greatly among different insect species.Recently,we met with little success when attempting to knock down genes in the mirid bug Apolygus lucorum via dsRNA injection.The disappearance of double-stranded RNA(dsRNA)could be a potential factor that restricts RNAi efficiency.Here,we found that dsRNA can be degraded in midgut fluids,and a dsRNase of A.lucorum(AldsRNase)was identified and characterized.Sequence alignment indicated that its 6 key amino acid residues and the Mg2+-binding site were similar to those of other insects’dsRNases.The signal peptide and endonuclease non-specific domain shared high sequence identity with the brown-winged green stinkbug Plautia stali dsRNase.AldsRNase showed high salivary gland and midgut expression and was continuously expressed through the whole life cycle,with peaks at the 4th instar ecdysis in the whole body.The purified AldsRNase protein obtained by heterologously expressed can rapidly degrade dsRNA.When comparing the substrate specificity of AldsRNase,3 specific substrates(dsRNA,small interfering RNA,and dsDNA)were all degraded,and the most efficient degradation is dsRNA.Subsequently,immunofluorescence revealed that AldsRNase was expressed in the cytoplasm of midgut cells.Through cloning and functional study of AldsRNase,the enzyme activity and substrate specificity of the recombinant protein,as well as the subcellular localization of nuclease,the reason for the disappearance of dsRNA was explained,which was useful in improving RNAi efficiency in A.lucorum and related species.Jie-Yu Zhang Jing Zhao Keyan Zhu-Salzman Qin-Qin Ji Yi-Ping Jiang Liu-Bin Xiao De-Jin Xu Guang-Chun Xu Lin-Quan Ge Yong-An Tan 2024Insect Science2024,31,1:0

14Molecular and functional characterization of three odorant-binding proteins from the wheat blossom midge,Sitodiplosis mosellana显示文摘Sitodiplosis mosellana,a periodic but devastating wheat pest,relies on wheat spike volatiles as a cue in sclecing hosts for oviposition.Insect odorant-binding proteins(OBPs)are thought to play essential roles in filtering,binding and transporting hydropho-bic odorant molecules to specific receptors.To date,the molecular mechanisms underlying S.mosellana olfaction are poorly understood.Here,three S.mosellana antenna-specific OBP genes,SmosOBPII,16 and 21,were cloned and bacterially expressed.Binding properties of the recombinant proteins to 28 volatiles emitted from wheat spikes were in-vestigated using fluorescence competitive binding assays.Sequence analysis suggested that these SmosOBPs belong to the Classic OBP subfamily.Ligand-binding analysis showed that all three SmosOBPs preferentially bound alcohol,ester and ketone com-pounds,and SmosOBP11 and 16 also selectively bound terpenoid compounds.In par-ticular,the three SmosOBPs had high binding affinities(Ki<20μmol/L)to 3-hexanol and cis-3-hexenylacetate that elicited strong electroantennogram(EAG)response fromfemale antennae.In addition,SmosOBP11 displayed significantly higher binding(Ki<8μmo/L)than SmosOBP16 and 21 to l-octen-3-ol,D-panthenol,a-pinene and heptyl acetate which elicited significant EAG response,suggesting that SmosOBP11 plays a ma-jor role in recognition and transportation of these volatiles.These findings have provided important insight into the molecular mechanism by which S.mosellana specifically rec-ognizes plant volatiles for host selection,and have facilitated identification of effective volatile attractants that are potentially useful for pest monitoring and trapping.Wei-Ning Cheng Yu-Dong Zhang Wei Liu Guang-Wei Li Keyan Zhu-Salzman 2020Insect Science2020,27,4:0

16Removal of Anionic Dyes from Aqueous Solution with Layered Cationic Aluminum Oxyhydroxide显示文摘It is highly desired yet challenged to find an adsorbent with low cost and excellent performance in the removal of organic dyes from aqueous solution. Here we reported that a layered cationic aluminum oxyhydroxide material hydrothermally synthesized from the low-cost source materials of AlCl_(3)·6H_(2)O, CaO and H_(2)O, known as JU-111, can meet such criterion in removing methyl orange(MO) and Congo red(CR). JU-111 shows fast adsorption kinetics[especially for CR(15 s)] and high adsorption capacity(MO: >1000 mg/g;CR: >2900 mg/g), surpassing most of the reported adsorbents. Comprehensive characterizations of the adsorption process of MO and CR revealed that both adsorptions were achieved via the anion exchange process. 17Composite structure of ZnO films coated with reduced graphene oxide: structural,electrical and electrochemical properties显示文摘ZnO films coated with reduced graphene oxide(RGO-ZnO) were prepared by a simple chemical approach. The graphene oxide(GO) films transferred onto ZnO films by spin coating were reduced to RGO films by two steps(exposed to hydrazine vapor for 12 h and annealed at 600 °C). The crystal structures, electrical and photoluminescence properties of RGO-ZnO films on quartz substrates were systematically studied. The SEM images illustrated that RGO layers have successfully been coated on the ZnO films very tightly. The PL properties of RGO-ZnO were studied. PL spectra show two sharp peaks at 390 nm and a broad visible emission around 490 nm.The resistivity of RGO-ZnO films was measured by a Hall measurement system, RGO as nanofiller considerably decrease the resistivity of ZnO films. An electrode was fabricated, using RGO-ZnO films deposited on Si substrate as active materials, for super capacitor application. 18TO–YOLOX: a pure CNN tiny object detection model for remotesensing images显示文摘Remote sensing and deep learning are being widely combined in tasks such as urban planning and disaster prevention.However,due to interference occasioned by density,overlap,and coverage,the tiny object detection in remote sensing images has always been a difficult problem.Therefore,we propose a novel TO–YOLOX(Tiny Object–You Only Look Once)model.TO–YOLOX possesses a MiSo(Multiple-in-Singleout)feature fusion structure,which exhibits a spatial-shift structure,and the model balances positive and negative samples and enhances the information interaction pertaining to the local patch of remote sensing images.TO–YOLOX utilizes an adaptive IOU-T(Intersection Over Uni-Tiny)loss to enhance the localization accuracy of tiny objects,and it applies attention mechanism Group-CBAM(group-convolutional block attention module)to enhance the perception of tiny objects in remote sensing images.To verify the effectiveness and efficiency of TO–YOLOX,we utilized three aerial-photography tiny object detection datasets,namely VisDrone2021,Tiny Person,and DOTA–HBB,and the following mean average precision(mAP)values were recorded,respectively:45.31%(+10.03%),28.9%(+9.36%),and 63.02%(+9.62%).With respect to recognizing tiny objects,TO–YOLOX exhibits a stronger ability compared with Faster R-CNN,RetinaNet,YOLOv5,YOLOv6,YOLOv7,and YOLOX,and the proposed model exhibits fast computation.Zhe Chen Yuan Liang Zhengbo Yu Ke Xu Qingyun Ji Xueqi Zhang Quanping Zhang Zijia Cui Ziqiong He Ruichun Chang Zhongchang Sun Keyan Xiao Huadong Guo 2023International Journal of Digital Earth2023,16,1:0
