Searching for novel materials via 4f chemistry显示文摘4f chemistry studies the chemical bonding characteristics of fifteen lanthanide (Ln) elements in the periodic table and their wide applications in materials sciences and engineering, which forms the scientific fundamentals ofⅥperiodic elements in the periodic table of elements. Orbital hybridization modes of Ln elements clarify their chemical bonding nature in all reaction systems. Wide coordination number (CN) option, ranging from 2 to 16, is the reason why Ln elements are the treasure of new materials, therefore, searching for novel materials may be well carried out via the rational design of coordination environment of central Ln cations to stabilize their variable energy states. Balance utilization of Ln elements is dependent on their coordination architecture in the crystallographic frame, Ln elements can be replaced by non-Ln elements when CN <10, and when CN≥10 expensive Ln elements can be replaced by those cheaper ones. | Congting Sun Keyan Li Dongfeng Xue | 2019 | Journal of Rare Earths2019,37,1: | 9
Bract suppression regulated by the miR156/529-SPLs-NL1-PLA1 module is required for the transition from vegetative to reproductive branching in rice显示文摘Reproductive transition of grasses is characterized by switching the pattern of lateral branches, featuring the suppression of outgrowth of the subtending leaves(bracts)and rapid formation of higher-order branches in the inflorescence(panicle). However, the molecular mechanisms underlying such changes remain largely unknown. Here,we show that bract suppression is required for the reproductive branching in rice.We identified a pathway involving the intrinsic time ruler microRNAI56/529,their targets SQUAMOSA PROMOTER BINDING PROTEIN LIKE(SPL)genes,NECK LEAF1(NL1),and PLASTOCHRON1(PLA1),which regulates the bract outgrowth and thus affects the pattern switch between vegetative and reproductive branching.Suppression of the bract results in global reprogramming of transcriptome and chromatin accessibility following the reproductive transition, while these processes are largely dysregu-lated in the mutants of these genes. These discoveries contribute to our understanding of the dynamic plant architecture and provide novel insights for improving crop yields. | Lei Wang Luchang Ming Keyan Liao Chunjiao Xia Shengyuan Sun Yu Chang Hongkai Wang Debao Fu Conghao Xu Zhengji Wang Xu Li Weibo Xie Yidan Ouyang Qinglu Zhang Xianghua Li Qinghua Zhang Jinghua Xiao Qifa Zhang | 2021 | Molecular Plant2021,14,7: | 2
A Thermoregulatory Flexible Phase Change Nonwoven for All‑Season High‑Efficiency Wearable Thermal Management显示文摘Phase change materials have a key role for wearable thermal management, but suffer from poor water vapor permeability, low enthalpy value and weak shape stability caused by liquid phase leakage and intrinsic rigidity of solid–liquid phase change materials.Herein,we report for the first time a versatile strategy for designed assembly of high-enthalpy flexible phase change nonwovens(GB-PCN)by wet-spinning hybrid grapheneboron nitride(GB)fiber and subsequent impregnating paraffins(e.g.,eicosane,octadecane).As a result, our GB-PCN exhibited an unprecedented enthalpy value of 206.0 J g^(−1),excellent thermal reliability and anti-leakage capacity, superb thermal cycling ability of 97.6%after 1000 cycles, and ultrahigh water vapor permeability(close to the cotton),outperforming the reported PCM films and fibers to date.Notably, the wearable thermal management systems based on GB-PCN for both clothing and face mask were demonstrated, which can maintain the human body at a comfortable temperature range for a significantly long time. Therefore, our results demonstrate huge potential of GB-PCN for human-wearable passive thermal management in real scenarios. | Hanqing Liu Feng Zhou Xiaoyu Shi Keyan Sun Yan Kou Pratteek Das Yangeng Li Xinyu Zhang Srikanth Mateti Ying Chen Zhong‑Shuai Wu Quan Shi | 2023 | Nano-Micro Letters2023,15,2: | 1

Miro2 supplies a platform for Parkin translocation to damaged mitochondria显示文摘PINK1/Parkin-mediated mitophagy is an important process in selective removal of damaged mitochondria, in which translocation of Parkin to damaged mitochondria is recognized as an initiation step. At present, how the damaged mitochondria are selectively recognized and targeted by Parkin is not fully understood. Here we show that Miro2, an outer mitochondrial membrane protein, undergoes demultimerization from a tetramer to a monomer and alteration in mitochondrial localization upon CCCP treatment, suggesting a CCCP-induced realignment of Miro2. The realignment of Miro2 is tightly regulated by PINK1-mediated phosphorylation at Ser325/Ser430 and by Ca^2+binding to EF2 domain, which are both essential for the subsequent Parkin translocation. Interestingly, ablation of Miro2 in mouse causes delayed reticulocyte maturation, lactic acidosis and cardiac disorders. Furthermore, several Miro2 mutations found in the congenital lactic acidosis patients also disable its realignment and Parkin translocation. These findings reveal an important role of Miro2 to mediate Parkin translocation by sensing both depolarization and Ca^2+release from damaged mitochondria to ensure the accuracy of mitophagy. | Jiu-Qiang Wang Shu Zhu Yihan Wang Fengli Wang Chaoqiang An Dongfang Jiang Lijie Gao Yingfeng Tu Xuefei Zhu Yun Wang Hongmei Liu Juanjuan Gong Zhongshuai Sun Xi Wang Leimei Liu Keyan Yang Caixia Guo Tie-Shan Tang | 2019 | Science Bulletin2019,64,11: | 0
Spatiotemporal phase change materials for thermal energy long-term storage and controllable release显示文摘Phase change materials(PCMs)have attracted much attention in the field of solar thermal utilization recently, due to their outstanding thermal energy storage performance. However,PCMs usually release their stored latent heat spontaneously as the temperature below the phase transition temperature, rendering thermal energy storage and release uncontrollable, thus hindering their practical application in time and space.Herein,we developed erythritol/sodium carboxymethylcellulose/tetrasodium ethylenediaminetetraacetate(ERY/CMC/EDTA-4Na)composite PCMs with novel spatiotemporal thermal energy storage properties, defined as spatiotemporal PCMs(STPCMs),which exhibit the capacity of thermal energy long-term storage and controllable release. Our results show that the composite PCMs are unable to lose latent heat due to spontaneous crystallization during cooling, but can controllably release thermal energy through cold crystallization during reheating. The cold-crystallization temperature and enthalpy of composite PCMs can be adjusted by proportional addition of EDTA-4Na to the composite. When the mass fractions of CMC and EDTA-4Na are both 10%,the composite PCMs can exhibit the optical coldcrystallization temperature of 51.7℃ and enthalpy of 178.1 J/g.The supercooled composite PCMs without latent heat release can be maintained at room temperature(10-25℃)for up to more than two months, and subsequently the stored latent heat can be controllably released by means of thermal triggering or heterogeneous nucleation. Our findings provide novel insights into the design and construction of new PCMs with spatiotemporal performance of thermal energy long-term storage and controllable release, and consequently open a new door for the development of advanced solar thermal utilization techniques on the basis of STPCMs. | Yangeng Li Yan Kou Keyan Sun Jie Chen Chengxin Deng Chaohe Fang Quan Shi | 2023 | Journal of Energy Chemistry2023,,5: | 0
TO–YOLOX: a pure CNN tiny object detection model for remotesensing images显示文摘Remote sensing and deep learning are being widely combined in tasks such as urban planning and disaster prevention. However, due to interference occasioned by density, overlap, and coverage, the tiny object detection in remote sensing images has always been a difficult problem. Therefore,we propose a novel TO–YOLOX(Tiny Object–You Only Look Once)model.TO–YOLOX possesses a MiSo(Multiple-in-Singleout)feature fusion structure, which exhibits a spatial-shift structure, and the model balances positive and negative samples and enhances the information interaction pertaining to the local patch of remote sensing images.TO–YOLOX utilizes an adaptive IOU-T(Intersection Over Uni-Tiny)loss to enhance the localization accuracy of tiny objects, and it applies attention mechanism Group-CBAM(group-convolutional block attention module)to enhance the perception of tiny objects in remote sensing images. To verify the effectiveness and efficiency of TO–YOLOX,we utilized three aerial-photography tiny object detection datasets, namely VisDrone2021,Tiny Person, and DOTA–HBB,and the following mean average precision(mAP)values were recorded,respectively:45.31%(+10.03%),28.9%(+9.36%),and 63.02%(+9.62%).With respect to recognizing tiny objects,TO–YOLOX exhibits a stronger ability compared with Faster R-CNN,RetinaNet,YOLOv5,YOLOv6,YOLOv7,and YOLOX,and the proposed model exhibits fast computation. | Zhe Chen Yuan Liang Zhengbo Yu Ke Xu Qingyun Ji Xueqi Zhang Quanping Zhang Zijia Cui Ziqiong He Ruichun Chang Zhongchang Sun Keyan Xiao Huadong Guo | 2023 | International Journal of Digital Earth2023,16,1: | 0
