1Global patterns of the responses of leaf-level photosynthesis and respiration in terrestrial plants to experimental warming显示文摘Aims The balance between leaf photosynthesis and respiration of terrestrial plants determines the net carbon(C)gain by vegetation and consequently is important to climate–C cycle feedback.This study is to reveal the global patterns of the responses of leaf-level net photosynthesis and dark respiration to elevated temperature.Methods Data for leaf-level net photosynthesis rate(P_(n))and dark respiration rate(R_(d))in natural terrestrial plant species with standard deviation(or standard error or confidence interval)and sample size were collected from searched literatures on Web of Science.Then a metaanalysis was conducted to estimate the effects of experimental warming on leaf-level P_(n) and R_(d) of terrestrial plants.Important findings Across all the plants included in the analysis,warming enhanced P_(n) and R_(d) significantly by 6.13 and 33.14%,respectively.However,the responses were plant functional type(PFT)specific.Specifically,photosynthesis of C_(4) herbs responded to experimental warming positively but that of C_(3) herbs did not,whereas their respiratory responses were similar,suggesting C_(4) plants would benefit more from warming.The photosynthetic response declined linearly with increasing ambient temperature.The respiratory responses linearly enhanced with the increase in warming magnitude.In addition,a thermal acclimation of R_(d),instead of P_(n),was observed.Although greater proportion of fixed C was consumed(greater R_(d)/P_(n) ratio),warming significantly enhanced the daily net C balance at the leaf level.This provides an important mechanism for the positive responses of plant biomass and net primary productivity to warming.Overall,the findings,including the contrastive responses of different PFTs and the enhancement in daily leaf net C balance,are important for improving model projection of the climate–C cycle feedback.Junyi Liang Jianyang Xia Lingli Liu Shiqiang Wan 2013Journal of Plant Ecology2013,6,6:18
2Exploratory Precipitation in North-Central China during the Past Four Centuries显示文摘Two robust precipitation reconstructions were conducted by combining tree-ring chronologies, dryness/wetness indices from historical documents, and climate data from the global grid. It was found that the recurrent drought history of a region can help us understand the variability of precipitation. Several dry/wet periods during the past four centuries and potential cycles of precipitation variation were determined. Furthermore, the reconstructions are not only consistent well with each other in North-central China, but also in good agreement with variations of precipitation in northeastern Mongolia, the Longxi area in Gangsu Province and the Dulan area of Qinghai Province, and the snow accumulation of the Guliya glacier. 3Numerical analysis on noise of rotor with unconventional blade tips based on CFD/Kirchhoff method显示文摘A solver is developed aiming at efficiently predicting rotor noise in hover and forward flight. In this solver, the nonlinear near-field solutions are calculated by a hybrid approach which includes the Navier-Stokes and Euler equations based on a moving-embedded grid system and adaptive grid methodology. A combination of the third-order upwind scheme and flux-difference splitting scheme, instead of the second-order center-difference scheme which may cause larger wake dissipation, has been employed in the present computational fluid dynamics (CFD) method. The sound pressure data in the near field can be calculated directly by solving the Navier-Stokes equations, and the sound propagation can be predicted by the Kirchhoff method. A harmonic expansion approach is presented for rotor far-field noise prediction, which gives an analytical expression for the integral function in the Kirchhoff formula. As a result, the interpolation process is simplified and the efficiency and accuracy of the interpolation are improved. Then, the high-speed impulsive (HIS) noise of a helicopter rotor at different tip Mach numbers and on different observers is calculated and analyzed in hover and forward flight, which shows a highly directional characteristic of the rotor HIS noise with a maximum value in the rotor plane, and the HSI noise weakens rapidly with the increasing of the directivity angle. In order to investigate the effects of the rotor blade-tip shape on its aeroacoustic characteristics, four kinds of blade tips are designed and their noise characteristics have been simulated. At last, a new unconventional CLOR-II blade tip has been designed, and the noise characteristics of the presented CLOR-II model rotor have been simulated and measured compared to the reference rotors with a rectangular or swept-back platform blade tip. 4Allogeneic Vγ9Vδ2 T-cell immunotherapy exhibits promising clinical safety and prolongs the survival of patients with late-stage lung or liver cancer显示文摘Vγ9Vδ2 T cells are promising candidates for cellular tumor immunotherapy.Due to their HLA-independent mode of action,allogeneic Vγ9Vδ2 T cells can be considered for clinical application.To apply allogeneic Vγ9Vδ2 T cells in adoptive immunotherapy,the methodology used to obtain adequate cell numbers with optimal effector function in vitro needs to be optimized,and clinical safety and efficacy also need to be proven.Therefore,we developed a novel formula to improve the expansion of peripheralγδT cells from healthy donors.Then,we used a humanized mouse model to validate the therapeutic efficacy of expandedγδT cells in vivo;furthermore,the expandedγδT cells were adoptively transferred into late-stage liver and lung cancer patients.We found that the expanded cells possessed significantly improved immune effector functions,including proliferation,differentiation,and cancer cell killing,both in vitro and in the humanized mouse model.Furthermore,a phase I clinical trial in 132 late-stage cancer patients with a total of 414 cell infusions unequivocally validated the clinical safety of allogeneic Vγ9Vδ2 T cells.Among these 132 patients,8 liver cancer patients and 10 lung cancer patients who received≥5 cell infusions showed greatly prolonged survival,which preliminarily verified the efficacy of allogeneic Vγ9Vδ2 T-cell therapy.Our clinical studies underscore the safety and efficacy of allogeneic Vγ9Vδ2 T-cell immunotherapy,which will inspire further clinical investigations and eventually benefit cancer patients.Yan Xu Zheng Xiang Mohammed Alnaggar Léonce Kouakanou Jiawei Li Junyi He Jiashuang Yang Yi Hu Yan Chen Li Lin Jianlei Hao Jingxia Li Jibing Chen Man Li Qingling Wu Christian Peters Qinghua Zhou Jianshuang Li Yingqing Liang Xiaohua Wang Baohui Han Meili Ma Dieter Kabelitz Kecheng Xu Wenwei Tu Yangzhe Wu Zhinan Yin 2021Cellular & Molecular Immunology2021,18,2:8
5Sox9 augments BMP2-induced chondrogenic differentiation by downregulating Smad7 in mesenchymal stem cells(MSCs)显示文摘Cartilage injuries caused by arthritis or trauma pose formidable challenges for effective clinical management due to the limited intrinsic proliferative capability of chondrocytes.Autologous stem cell-based therapies and transgene-enhanced cartilage tissue engineering may open new avenues for the treatment of cartilage injuries.Bone morphogenetic protein 2(BMP2)induces effective chondrogenesis of mesenchymal stem cells(MSCs)and can thus be explored as a potential therapeutic agent for cartilage defect repair.However,BMP2 also induces robust endochondral ossification.Although the precise mechanisms through which BMP2 governs the divergence of chondrogenesis and osteogenesis remain to be fully understood,blocking endochondral ossification during BMP2-induced cartilage formation may have practical significance for cartilage tissue engineering.Here,we investigate the role of Sox9-donwregulated Smad7 in BMP2-induced chondrogenic differentiation of MSCs.We find that overexpression of Sox9 leads to a decrease in BMP2-induced Smad7 expression in MSCs.Sox9 inhibits BMP2-induced expression of osteopontin while enhancing the expression of chondrogenic marker Col2a1 in MSCs.Forced expression of Sox9 in MSCs promotes BMP2-induced chondrogenesis and suppresses BMP2-induced endochondral ossification.Constitutive Smad7 expression inhibits BMP2-induced chondrogenesis in stem cell implantation assay.Mouse limb explant assay reveals that Sox9 expands BMP2-stimulated chondrocyte proliferating zone while Smad7 promotes BMP2-intitated hypertrophic zone of the growth plate.Cell cycle analysis indicates that Smad7 induces significant early apoptosis in BMP2-stimulated MSCs.Taken together,our results strongly suggest that Sox9 may facilitate BMP2-induced chondrogenesis by downregulating Smad7,which can be exploited for effective cartilage tissue engineering.Chen Zhao Wei Jiang Nian Zhou Junyi Liao Mingming Yang Ning Hu Xi Liang Wei Xu Hong Chen Wei Liu Lewis L.Shi Leonardo Oliveira Jennifer Moriatis Wolf Sherwin Ho Aravind Athiviraham H.M.Tsai Tong-Chuan He Wei Huang 2017Genes & Diseases2017,4,4:7
6Massive cranium from Harbin in northeastern China establishes a new Middle Pleistocene human lineage显示文摘It has recently become clear that several human lineages coexisted with Homo sapiens during the late Middle and Late Pleistocene.Here,we report an archaic human fossil that throws new light on debates concerning the diversification of the Homo genus and the origin of H.sapiens.The fossil was recovered in Harbin city in northeastern China,with a minimum uranium-series age of 146 ka.This cranium is one of the best preserved Middle Pleistocene human fossils.Its massive size,with a large cranial capacity(1,420 mL)falling in the range of modern humans,is combined with a mosaic of primitive and derived characters.It differs from all the other named Homo species by presenting a combination of features,such as long and low cranial vault,a wide and low face,large and almost square orbits,gently curved but massively developed supraorbital torus,flat and low cheekbones with a shallow canine fossa,and a shallow palate with thick alveolar bone supporting very large molars.The excellent preservation of the Harbin cranium advances our understanding of several less-complete late Middle Pleistocene fossils from China,which have been interpreted as local evolutionary intermediates between the earlier species Homo erectus and later H.sapiens.Phylogenetic analyses based on parsimony criteria and Bayesian tip-dating suggest that the Harbin cranium and some other Middle Pleistocene human fossils from China,such as those from Dali and Xiahe,form a third East Asian lineage,which is a part of the sister group of the H.sapiens lineage.Our analyses of such morphologically distinctive archaic human lineages from Asia,Europe,and Africa suggest that the diversification of the Homo genus may have had a much deeper timescale than previously presumed.Sympatric isolation of small populations combined with stochastic long-distance dispersals is the best fitting biogeographical model for interpreting the evolution of the Homo genus.Xijun Ni Qiang Ji Wensheng Wu Qingfeng Shao Yannan Ji Chi Zhang Lei Liang Junyi Ge Zhen Guo Jinhua Li Qiang Li Rainer Grun Chris Stringer 2021The Innovation2021,2,3:6
7Specific Properties of Air Flow Field Within the Grinding Zone显示文摘Air barrier of grinding means a boundary layer of air existing at the circumference of the rotating wheel,which hinders coolant from entry. This paper makes a research on air flow field of the grinding zone through experiments and numerical simulations,focusing on acquainting with the specific properties of the air flow field. Finite volume method is applied to analyze air flow field within grinding wheel in the course of numerical calculations. The test devices such as Hot-wire anemometer and Betz manometer are used during the experiments of testing the pressure and velocity within grinding zone. Results of experiments agree by and large with numerical results of calculations. The conclusions obtained in this paper,the distribution of wall pressure and the distribution of air flow velocity,are important and useful to navigate the delivery of coolant into the grinding zone. 9Priming effect and its regulating factors for fast and slow soil organic carbon pools: A meta-analysis显示文摘The priming effect (PE) plays a critical role in the control of soil carbon (C) cycling and influences the alteration of soil organic C (SOC) decomposition by fresh C input.However,drivers of PE for the fast and slow SOC pools remain unclear because of the varying results from individual studies.Using meta-analysis in combination with boosted regression tree (BRT) analysis,we evaluated the relative contribution of multiple drivers of PE with substrate and their patterns across each driver gradient.The results showed that the variability of PE was larger for the fast SOC pool than for the slow SOC pool.Based on the BRT analysis,67%and 34%of the variation in PE were explained for the fast and slow SOC pools,respectively.There were seven determinants of PE for the fast SOC pool,with soil total nitrogen (N) content being the most important,followed by,in a descending order,substrate C:N ratio,soil moisture,soil clay content,soil pH,substrate addition rate,and SOC content.The directions of PE were negative when soil total N content and substrate C:N ratio were below 2 g kg~(-1)and 20,respectively,but the directions changed from negative to positive with increasing levels of this two factors.Soils with optimal water content (50%–70%of the water-holding capacity) or moderately low pH (5–6) were prone to producing a greater PE.For the slow SOC pool,soil p H and soil total N content substantially explained the variation in PE.The magnitude of PE was likely to decrease with increasing soil pH for the slow SOC pool.In addition,the magnitude of PE slightly fluctuated with soil N content for the slow SOC pool.Overall,this meta-analysis provided new insights into the distinctive PEs for different SOC pools and indicated knowledge gaps between PE and its regulating factors for the slow SOC pool.Changfu HUO Junyi LIANG Weidong ZHANG Peng WANG Weixin CHENG 2022Pedosphere2022,32,1:2

12Application Server Aging Model and Multi-Level Rejuvenation Strategy Using Semi-Markov Process显示文摘Aiming at the characteristic of the dependency between the application components and the application server platform, a rejuvenation strategy with two different levels of rejuvenation granularities is put forward in this paper including the application component rejuvenation and the application server system rejuvenation. The availability and maintenance cost functions are obtained by means of establishing the application server aging model and the boundary condition of the optimal rejuvenation time is analyzed. Theory analysis indicates that the two-level rejuvenation strategy is superior to the traditional single level one. 16High-fidelity and clean nanotransfer lithography using structure-embedded and electrostatic-adhesive carriers显示文摘Metallic nanostructures are becoming increasingly important for both fundamental research and practical devices.Many emerging applications employing metallic nanostructures often involve unconventional substrates that are flexible or nonplanar,making direct lithographic fabrication very difficult.An alternative approach is to transfer prefabricated structures from a conventional substrate;however,it is still challenging to maintain high fidelity and a high yield in the transfer process.In this paper,we propose a high-fidelity,clean nanotransfer lithography method that addresses the above challenges by employing a polyvinyl acetate(PVA)film as the transferring carrier and promoting electrostatic adhesion through triboelectric charging.The PVA film embeds the transferred metallic nanostructures and maintains their spacing with a remarkably low variation of<1%.When separating the PVA film from the donor substrate,electrostatic charges are generated due to triboelectric charging and facilitate adhesion to the receiver substrate,resulting in a high large-area transfer yield of up to 99.93%.We successfully transferred the metallic structures of a variety of materials(Au,Cu,Pd,etc.)with different geometries with a<50-nm spacing,high aspect ratio(>2),and complex 3D structures.Moreover,the thin and flexible carrier film enables transfer on highly curved surfaces,such as a single-mode optical fiber with a curvature radius of 62.5μm.With this strategy,we demonstrate the transfer of metallic nanostructures for a compact spectrometer with Cu nanogratings transferred on a convex lens and for surface-enhanced Raman spectroscopy(SERS)characterization on graphene with reliable responsiveness.Zhuofei Gan Jingxuan Cai Zhao Sun Liyang Chen Chuying Sun Junyi Yu Zeyu Liang Siyi Min Fei Han Yu Liu Xing Cheng Shuhui Yu Dehu Cui Wen-Di Li 2023Microsystems & Nanoengineering2023,9,1:1

The digraph is assumed to contain a spanning tree. Every agent or subsystem is identical and uncertain, but subsystems have different external disturbances. Based on the internal model and general discrete-time algebraic Riccati equation, a distributed consensus protocol is proposed to solve the regulator problem. 20Experimental Study on Anatomic Reduction of Lateral Pterygoid Muscle(Simulated Manipulation Fracture Reduction)and Condylar Free Reduction for Condylar Fracture显示文摘[Objectives]To compare the fracture healing of keeping lateral pterygoid muscle anatomic reduction(simulated manipulation fracture reduction)with condylar free reduction in the treatment of condylar fractures.[Methods]Twenty-four New Zealand rabbits were randomly divided into two groups to mandibular condylar neck fracture model was established.one team keep the lateral pterygoid muscle,the other excise it.Cervical vascular perfusion was done with ink before animals executed after operation 2,4,6 and 8 weeks.Bilateral anteroposterior and mediolateral condylar diameters measured.Changes of operation side condylar proliferating layer,microvessel number and bone parameters were observed and analyzed after slices and HE staining.[Results]The mediolateral condylar diameters of operation side were significantly smaller than health side in condylar free reduction group at the 4,6,8 weeks(P<0.05),but there was no statistical difference in the anteroposterior condylar diameters at each time point(P>0.05).There were no significant differences in the anteroposterior and mediolateral condylar diameters of the anatomic reduction lateral pterygoid muscle group compared between the operation side and health side(P>0.05).The number of microvessel in condylar free reduction group were smaller than those in anatomic reduction lateral pterygoid muscle group(P<0.05).There were significant differences in BV/TV,Tb.Th,Tb.Sp between the condylar free reduction group and the anatomic reduction lateral pterygoid muscle group(all P<0.05),and the Tb.N were significantly differences between two groups at the 4,6,8 weeks(P<0.05).[Conclusions]When the condyle is fractured it should keep lateral pterygoid muscle(manipulation fracture reduction)as possible,which is important in the fracture healing and functional recovering of mandibular.Junyi YOU Xiaofeng SHEN Qihan MA Guoqiang LIANG 2023Medicinal Plant2023,14,5:0
