1Epidemiology and risk factors of colorectal cancer in China显示文摘In China, colorectal cancer(CRC) ranked fourth and fifth in the highest incidence and mortality rates of all malignancies in 2018, respectively. Although these rates are below the world average, China placed first worldwide in the number of new CRC cases and CRC-related deaths because of its comparatively large population. This disease represents a threat to the health of population and incurs a heavy economic burden on the society and individuals. CRC has various risk factors, including age, sex, lifestyle, genetic factors, obesity, diabetes, gut microbiota status, and precancerous lesions. Furthermore, incidence and mortality rates of CRC are closely related to socioeconomic development levels, varying according to regional and population characteristics. Prevention is the main strategy to reduce incidence and mortality rates of CRC. This can be achieved through strategies stimulating lifestyle changes, healthy diet habits, and early screening for high-risk individuals. To reduce the burden of CRC, public health officials should promote prevention and management of modifiable risk factors through national policies. The rising incidence and mortality rates of CRC in China may be timely curbed by clarifying specific epidemiological characteristics, optimizing early screening strategies, and strictly implementing diagnosis and treatment guidelines. 3Successful Production of an All-Female Common Carp (Cyprinus carpio L.) Population Using cyp17a1-Deficient Neomale Carp显示文摘Due to sexual dimorphism in the growth of certain cultured fish species,the production of monosex fishes is desirable for the aquaculture industry.Nowadays,the most widely practiced technique available for the mass production of monosex fish populations is sex steroid-induced sex reversal.Here,a novel strategy for the successful production of all-female(AF)common carp(Cyprinus carpio L.),to take advantage of the sexual dimorphism in growth documented in this species,has been developed using genetic engineering via single gene-targeting manipulation without any exogenous hormone treatments.Male and female heterozygous cyp17a1-deficient common carp were first obtained using the clustered regularly interspaced short palindromic repeats/CRISPR-associated endonuclease 9(CRISPR/Cas9)technique.An all-male phenotype for homozygous cyp17a1-deficient carp,regardless of the individuals’sexdetermination genotypes(XY or XX),has been observed.A male-specific DNA marker newly identified in our laboratory was used to screen the neomale carp population with the XX genotype from the cyp17a1-deficient carp.These neomale carp develop a normal testis structure with normal spermatogenesis and sperm capacity.The neomale common carp were then mated with wild-type(WT)females(cyp17a1^(+/+)XX genotype)using artificial fertilization.All the AF offspring sample fish from the neomale-WT female mating were confirmed as having the cyp17a^(1+/-)XX genotype,and normal development of gonads to ovaries was observed in 100.00%of this group at eight months post-fertilization(mpf).A total of 1000 carp fingerlings,500 from the WT male and female and 500 from the neomale and WT female mating,were mixed and reared in the same pond.The average body weight of cyp17a1^(+/-)XX females was higher by 6.60%(8 mpf)and 32.66%(12 mpf)than that of the control common carp.Our study demonstrates the first successful production of a monosex teleost population with the advantages of sexual dimorphism in growth using genetic manipulation targeting a single locus.Gang Zhai Tingting Shu Kuangxin Chen Qiyong Lou Jingyi Jia Jianfei Huang Chuang Shi Xia Jin Jiangyan He Donghuo Jiang Xueqiao Qian Wei Hu Zhan Yin 2022Engineering2022,8,1:7
4Effects of raw material extrusion and steam conditioning on feed pellet quality and nutrient digestibility of growing meat rabbits显示文摘This study was conducted to investigate the effects of raw material extrusion and steam conditioning on feed pellet quality and nutrient digestibility of growing meat rabbits, in order to determine appropriate rabbit feed processing methods and processing parameters. In Exp. 1, an orthogonal design was adopted.Barrel temperature, material moisture content and feed rate were selected as test factors, and acid detergent fiber(ADF) content was selected as an evaluation index to research the optimum extrusion parameters. In Exp. 2. a two-factor design was adopted. Four kinds of rabbit feeds were processed and raw material extrusion adopted optimum extrusion parameters of Exp. 1. A total of 40 healthy and 42-day-old rabbits with similar weight were used in a randomized design, which consisted of 4 groups and 10 replicates in each group(1 rabbits in each replicate). The adaptation period lasted for 7 d, and the digestion trial lasted for 4 d. The results showed as follows: 1) ADF was significantly affected by barrel temperature(P < 0.05); the optimum extrusion parameters were barrel temperature 125℃, moisture content 16% and feed rate 9 Hz. 2) Raw material extrusion and steam conditioning both significantly decreased powder percentage, pulverization ratio and protein solubility(P < 0.05), significantly improved hardness and starch gelatinization degree of rabbit feed(P < 0.05). They both had significant interaction effects on the processing quality of rabbit feed(P < 0.05). 3) Extrusion significantly improved the apparent digestibility of dry matter and total energy(P < 0.05). Extrusion and steam conditioning both significantly improved the apparent digestibility of crude fiber(CF), ADF and NDF(P < 0.05), but they had no interaction effects on the apparent digestibility of rabbit feed. 5Life prediction and test period optimization research based on small sample reliability test of hydraulic pumps显示文摘Hydraulic pumps belong to reliable long-life hydraulic components. The reliability evaluation includes characters such as long test period,high cost,and high power loss and so on. Based on the principle of energy-saving and power recovery,a small sample hydraulic pump reliability test rig is built,and the service life of hydraulic pump is predicted,and then the sampling period of reliability test is optimized. On the basis of considering the performance degradation mechanism of hydraulic pump,the feature information of degradation distribution of hydraulic pump volumetric efficiency during the test is collected,so an optimal degradation path model of feature information is selected from the aspect of fitting accuracy,and pseudo life data are obtained. Then a small sample reliability test of period constrained optimization search strategy for hydraulic pump is constructed to solve the optimization problem of the test sampling period and tightening end threshold,and it is verified that the accuracy of the minimum sampling period by the non-parametric hypothes is tested. 7Uranium sorption on oxyhydroxide minerals by surface complexation and precipitation显示文摘During the chemical weathering of the uranium mill tailings,released uranium could be immobilized by the newly formed secondary minerals such as oxyhydroxides.A deeper understanding of the interaction between uranium and common oxyhydroxides under environmental conditions is necessary.In this work,uranium sorption behaviors on Al-,Mn-and Fe-oxyhydroxide minerals(boehmite,manganite,goethite,and lepidocrocite)were investigated by batch experiments.Results showed that the uranium sorption on Al-oxyhydroxide behaved significantly differently from the other three minerals.The sorption edge of the Mn-and Fe-oxyhydroxides located around pH 5,while the sorption edge of boehmite shifted about 1.5 pH unit to near neutral.The sorption isotherms of uranium on manganite,goethite and lepidocrocite at pH 5.0 could be well fitted by the Langmuir model.Instead of surface complexation,sorption on boehmite happened mainly by uranium-bearing carbonates and hydroxides precipitation as illustrated by the characterization results.Both carbonate and phosphate strongly affected the uranium sorption behavior.The removal efficiency of uranium by boehmite exceeded 98%after three sorption-desorption cycles,indicating it may be a potential material for uranium removal and recovery.Jingyi Wang Wanqiang Zhou Yanlin Shi Yao Li Dongfan Xian Ning Guo Chunli Liu 2022Chinese Chemical Letters2022,33,7:3

12How psychiatrists coordinate treatment for COVID-19: a retrospective study and experience from China显示文摘Background Patients with C0VID-19 are at high risk of developing mental health problems;however,the prevalence and management of mental disorders and how psychiatrists coordinate the treatment are unclear.Aims We aimed to investigate the mental health problems of patients infected with C0VID-19 and to identify the role of psychiatrists in the clinical treatment team during the pandemic.We also share the experience of psychiatric consultations of patients with COVID-19 in Shanghai,China.Methods We analysed data from the psychiatric medical records of 329 patients with COVID-19 in the Shanghai Public Health Clinical Center from 20 January to 8 March 2020.We collected information including sociodemographic characteristics,whether patients received psychiatric consultation,mental health symptoms,psychiatric diagnoses,psychiatric treatments and severity level of COVID-19.Results Psychiatric consultations were received by 84(25.5%)patients with COVID-19.The most common symptoms of mental health problems were sleep disorders(75%),anxiety(58.3%)and depressive symptoms(11.9%).The psychiatric consultation rate was highest in critically ill patients(69.2%),with affective symptoms or disturbed behaviour as their main mental health problems.Psychiatric diagnoses for patients who received consultation included acute stress reaction(39.3%),sleep disorders(33.3%),anxiety(15.5%),depression(7.1%)and delirium(4.8%).In terms of psychiatric treatments,86.9%of patients who received psychiatric consultation were treated with psychotropic medications,including non-benzodiazepine sedative-hypnotic agents(54.8%),antidepressants(26.2%),benzodiazepines(22.6%)and antipsychotics(10.7%).Among the 76 patients who were discharged from the hospital,79%had recovered from mental health problems and were not prescribed any psychotropic medications.The symptoms of the remaining 21%of patients had improved and they were prescribed medications to continue the treatment.Conclusions This is the first study to report psychiatric consultations for patients with COVID-19.Our study indicated that a considerable proportion of patients with COVID-19,especially critically ill cases,experienced mental health problems.Given the remarkable effect of psychiatric treatments,we recommend that psychiatrists be timely and actively involved in the treatment of COVID-19.Ling Yue Jingyi Wang Mingliang Ju Yi Zhu Lianghu Chen Lin Shi Bohai Shi Jun Chen Yifeng Shen 2020General Psychiatry2020,33,4:1

14Application of FCM Algorithm Combined with Artificial Neural Network in TBM Operation Data显示文摘Fuzzy clustering theory is widely used in data mining of full-face tunnel boring machine.However,the traditional fuzzy clustering algorithm based on objective function is difficult to effectively cluster functional data.We propose a new Fuzzy clustering algorithm,namely FCM-ANN algorithm.The algorithm replaces the clustering prototype of the FCM algorithm with the predicted value of the artificial neural network.This makes the algorithm not only satisfy the clustering based on the traditional similarity criterion,but also can effectively cluster the functional data.In this paper,we first use the t-test as an evaluation index and apply the FCM-ANN algorithm to the synthetic datasets for validity testing.Then the algorithm is applied to TBM operation data and combined with the crossvalidation method to predict the tunneling speed.The predicted results are evaluated by RMSE and R^(2).According to the experimental results on the synthetic datasets,we obtain the relationship among the membership threshold,the number of samples,the number of attributes and the noise.Accordingly,the datasets can be effectively adjusted.Applying the FCM-ANN algorithm to the TBM operation data can accurately predict the tunneling speed.The FCM-ANN algorithm has improved the traditional fuzzy clustering algorithm,which can be used not only for the prediction of tunneling speed of TBM but also for clustering or prediction of other functional data.Jingyi Fang Xueguan Song Nianmin Yao Maolin Shi 2021Computer Modeling in Engineering & Sciences2021,,1:0
15DNAzyme@CuSNPs dual mimic enzyme probe-amplified chemiluminescent imaging array immunosensor for multiple chicken cytokines detection显示文摘The detection of cytokines plays an important role in clinical diagnosis and immune mechanism research of chicken diseases.In this work,a novel and ultrasensitive chemiluminescent(CL)imaging array immunosensor was proposed to detect multiple chicken cytokines based on DNAzyme@CuS nanoparticles(DNAzyme@CuSNPs)dual mimic enzyme signal amplification strategy.DNAzyme@CuSNPs owns excellent peroxidase property,which was modified with second antibody(Ab_(2))to prepare DNAzyme@CusNPs detection probe,and demonstrated high catalysis CL imaging signal due to synergistic catalysis.Chicken interleukin-4(ChIL-4)and chicken interferon-y(ChIFN-y)were used as model analysis samples,the DNAzyme@CusSNPs-based CL imaging immunosensor achieved simultaneous and high-throughput detection of ChIL-4 and ChIFN-y with wide linear range of 10^(-3)-10^(2) ng/mL,and the detection limits are 0.41 pg/mL and 0.36 pg/mL,respectively.The multiplex chicken cytokines CL imaging array immunosensor shows a high sensitivity,wide linear range,excellent specificity and acceptable stability.This research opens dual mimic enzyme signal-amplified strategy to develop sensitive CL imaging immunoassay for chicken diseases detection application.Jingyi Zhan Feng Shi Juan Li Hao Zeng Ming Chen Xiaoya Hu Zhanjun Yang 2023Chinese Chemical Letters2023,34,12:0

17Spy chemistry enables stable protein immobilization on iron oxide nanoparticles with enhanced magnetic properties显示文摘Iron oxide nanoparticles(IONPs)modified with functional proteins hold great promise in the biomedical field.However,conventional protein modification strategies,such as adsorption and covalent coupling,are either unstable or nonspecific,or may result in the changes of protein structure and ultimately the loss of protein activity.Modification of active proteins on small-sized IONPs with a particle size of less than 30 nm is especially difficult due to their high surface energy.Herein,we developed a universal modifica-tion method based on Spy chemistry for rapid and stable protein immobilization on small-sized IONPs,which only requires the presence of active groups on the surface of nanoparticles that can couple with SpyCatcher.In short,the SpyCatcher peptides were first coated on the surface of IONPs by cross-linking with activated groups,and then the SpyTag peptide fused with a model protein(enhanced green fluo-rescent protein,EGFP)was engineered(SpyTag-EGFP)and directly coupled to SpyCatcher-modified IONPs by self-assembly,which is spontaneous and robust while avoiding the effect of chemical reactions on functional protein activity.The obtained EGFP-functionalized IONPs exhibited enhanced and stable green fluorescence and improved magnetic properties.In addition,the cell internalization efficiency of EGFP-functionalized IONPs was significantly increased as compared to unmodified IONPs,providing an ideal solution for efficient cell labeling and tracking.In conclusion,here we report a rapid and easy strategy for EGFP immobilization on IONPs based on Spy chemistry,which could be further adapted to other functional proteins in the future.SpyCatcher-modified IONPs and SpyTag-X(arbitrary functional fusion proteins)hold great potential to be applied as a versatile platform for protein immobilization on IONPs and enable its multifunctional application in the future.Chu Shi Jingyi Sheng Guangxiang Si Yan Li Yan Shen Ning Gu 2023Journal of Materials Science & Technology2023,,30:0

The purpose of this study was to evaluate the efficacy and safety of arbidol tablets in the treatment of COVID-19.Methods: This was a prospective, open-label, controlled and multicenter investigator-initiated trial involving adult patients with confirmed severe acute respiratory syndrome coronavirus 2 (SARS-CoV-2) infection. Patients were stratified 1:2 to either standard-of-care (SOC) or SOC plus arbidol tablets (oral administration of 200 mg per time, three times a day for 14 days). The primary endpoint was negative conversion of SARS-CoV-2 within the first week. The rates and 95% confidential intervals were calculated for each variable.Results: A total of 99 patients with laboratory-confirmed SARS-CoV-2 infection were enrolled;66 were assigned to the SOC plus arbidol tablets group, and 33 to the SOC group. The negative conversion rate of SARS-CoV-2 within the first week in patients receiving arbidol tablets was significantly higher than that of the SOC group (70.3% [45/64]vs. 42.4% [14/33];difference of conversion rate 27.9%;95% confidence interval [CI], 7.7%-48.1%;P=0.008). Compared to those in the SOC group, patients receiving arbidol tablets had a shorter duration of clinical recovery (median 7.0 daysvs. 12.0 days;hazard ratio [HR]: 1.877, 95% CI: 1.151-3.060,P=0.006), symptom of fever (median 3.0 daysvs. 12.0 days;HR: 18.990, 95% CI: 5.350-67.410,P<0.001), as well as hospitalization (median 12.5 daysvs. 20.0 days;P<0.001). Moreover, the addition of arbidol tablets to SOC led to more rapid normalization of declined blood lymphocytes (median 10.0 daysvs. 14.5 days;P > 0.05). The most common adverse event in the arbidol tablets group was the elevation of transaminase (5/200, 2.5%), and no one withdrew from the study due to adverse events or disease progression.Conclusions: SOC plus arbidol tablets significantly increase the negative conversion rate of SARS-CoV-2 within the first week and accelerate the recovery of COVID-19 patients.
