3Microdisk lasers on an erbium-doped lithium-niobite chip显示文摘Lithium niobate on insulator(LNOI) provides a platform for the fundamental physics investigations and practical applications of integrated photonics. However, as an indispensable building block of integrated photonics, lasers are in short supply. In this paper, erbium-doped LNOI laser in the 1550-nm band was demonstrated in microdisk cavities with high quality factors fabricated in batches by UV exposure, inductively coupled plasma reactive ion etching, and chemomechanical polishing. The threshold and conversion efficiency of the erbium-doped LNOI microdisk laser were measured to be lower than 1 m W and 6.5×10^(-5)%, respectively. 4Hierarchical coupling effect in hollow Ni/NiFe2O4-CNTs microsphere via spray-drying for enhanced oxygen evolution electrocatalysis显示文摘Design and fabrication of cost-effective transition metal and their oxides-based nanocomposites are of paramount significance for metal-air batteries and water-splitting.However,the traditional optimized designs for nanostructure are complicated,low-efficient and underperform for wide-scale applications.Herein,a novel hierarchical framework of hollow Ni/NiFe2O4-CNTs compositemicrosphere forcibly-assembled by zero-dimensional(OD)Ni/NiFo204 nanoparticle(<16 nm)and one-dimensional(1D)self-supporting CNTs was fabricated successfully.Benefitted from the unique nanostructure,such monohybrids can achieve remarkable oxygen evolution reaction(OER)performance in alkaline media with a low overpotential and superior durability,which exceeds most of the commercial catalysts based on IrO/RuO2 or other non-noble metal nanomaterials.The enhanced OER performance of Ni/NiFe2OA-CNTs composite is mainly ascribed to the increased catalytic activity and the optimized conductivity induced by the effects of strong hierarchical coupling and charge transfers between CNTs and Ni/NiFe204 nanoparticles.These effects are greatly boosted by the polarized heterojunction interfaces confirmed by electron holography.The density functional theory(DFT)calculation indicates the epitaxial Ni further enriches the intrinsic electrons contents of NiFe204 and thus accelerates absorption/desorption kinetics of OER intermediates.This work hereby paves a facile route to construct the hollow composite microsphere with excellent OER electrocatalytic activity based on non-noble metal oxide/CNTs.Xuefeng Yu Guanyu Chen Yizhe Wang Jiwei Liu Ke Pei Yunhao Zhao Wenbin You Lei Wang Jie Zhang Linshen Xing Jingjun Ding Guangzhou Ding Min Wang Renchao Che 2020Nano Research2020,13,2:3
57,8-Dihydroxyflavone suppresses proliferation and induces apoptosis of human osteosarcoma cells显示文摘Recent studies suggest that 7,8-dihydroxyflavone(7,8-DHF)inhibits the development of several tumors.However,its role in osteosarcoma(OS)remains unknown.This study was designed to investigate the effects and underlying mechanisms of 7,8-DHF that may influence OS development.Human OS cell lines(U2OS and 143B)were treated with 7,8-DHF;cell viability and cell migration were assessed by methylthiazolyldiphenyl-tetrazolium bromide(MTT)assay and wound-healing assay,respectively;and cell death and apoptosis were evaluated by LIVE/DEAD staining and terminal deoxynucleotidyl transferase(TdT)dUTP nick-end labeling(TUNEL)assay,respectively.Reactive oxygen species production was measured using 2,7-dichlorodihydrofluorescein diacetate probe.Akt,Bcl-xL/Bcl-2 asociated death promoter(Bad),p38 mitogen-activated protein kinase(MAPK),extracellular regulated protein kinase(ERK),and c-Jun N-terminal kinase(JNK)expression and their respective phosphorylation levels were detected by western blot analysis.We found that 7,8-DHF reduced cell viability in a dose-dependent manner and also promoted apoptosis,inhibited migration,and induced oxidative stress in OS cells.Moreover,7,8-DHF inhibited Akt,Bad,and p38MAPK,but activated ERK and JNK signals.In summary,our results suggest that 7,8-DHF inhibits OS progression,possibly by regulating Akt/Bad and MAPK signaling.These findings provide new evidence for the pharmacological effects of 7,8-DHF that may improve drug therapy for OS patients.Jing Zhao Peifeng Li Hua Zhu Fengqin Ge Jie Liu Jingjun Xia Pengzhou Hang 2021Acta Biochimica et Biophysica Sinica2021,53,7:3
6First experimental constraints on WIMP couplings in the effective field theory framework from CDEX显示文摘We present weakly interacting massive particles(WIMPs) search results performed using two approaches of effective field theory from the China Dark Matter Experiment(CDEX), based on the data from both CDEX-1B and CDEX-10 stages. In the nonrelativistic effective field theory approach, both time-integrated and annual modulation analyses were used to set new limits for the coupling of WIMP-nucleon effective operators at 90% confidence level(C.L.) and improve over the current bounds in the low mχregion. In the chiral effective field theory approach, data from CDEX-10 were used to set an upper limit on WIMP-pion coupling at 90% C.L. 7First results on ^(76)Ge neutrinoless double beta decay from CDEX-1 experiment显示文摘We report the first results on ^(76)Ge neutrinoless double beta decay from stage one of the China dark-matter experiment(CDEX).A p-type point-contact high-purity germanium detector with a mass of 994 g has been installed to detect neutrinoless double beta decay events, as well as to directly detect dark matter particles. An exposure of 304 kg d has been analyzed over a wide spectral band from 500 keV to 3 MeV. The average event rate obtained was about 0.012 counts per keV per kg per day over the 2.039 MeV energy range. The half-life of ^(76)Ge neutrinoless double beta decay derived based on this result is T^(0ν)1/2>6.4×10^(22) yr(90% C.L.). 8Predictive value of MGMT promoter methylation on the survival of TMZ treated IDH-mutant glioblastoma显示文摘Objective:O6 methylguanine-DNA methyltransferase(MGMT)promoter methylation is a biomarker widely used to predict the sensitivity of IDH-wildtype glioblastoma to temozolomide therapy.Given that the IDH status has critical effects on the survival and epigenetic features of glioblastoma,we aimed to assess the role of MGMT promoter methylation in IDH-mutant glioblastoma.Methods:This study included 187 IDH-mutant glioblastomas and used 173 IDH-wildtype glioblastomas for comparison.KaplanMeier curves and multivariate Cox regression were used to study the predictive effects.Results:Compared with IDH-wildtype glioblastomas,IDH-mutant glioblastomas showed significantly higher(P<0.0001)MGMT promoter methylation.We demonstrated that MGMT promoter methylation status,as determined by a high cutoff value(≥30%)in pyrosequencing,could be used to significantly stratify the survival of 50 IDH-mutant glioblastomas receiving temozolomide therapy(cohort A);this result was validated in another cohort of 25 IDH-mutant glioblastomas(cohort B).The median progression-free survival and median overall survival in cohort A were 9.33 and 13.76 months for unmethylated cases,and 18.37 and 41.61 months for methylated cases,and in cohort B were 6.97 and 9.10 months for unmethylated cases,and 23.40 and 26.40 months for methylated cases.In addition,we confirmed that the MGMT promoter methylation was significantly(P=0.0001)correlated with longer OS in IDH-mutant patients with GBM,independently of age,gender distribution,tumor type(primary or recurrent/secondary),and the extent of resection.Conclusions:MGMT promoter methylation has predictive value in IDH-mutant glioblastoma,but its cutoff value should be higher than that for IDH-wildtype glioblastoma.Ruichao Chai Guanzhang Li Yuqing Liu Kenan Zhang Zheng Zhao Fan Wu Yuzhou Chang Bo Pang Jingjun Li Yangfang Li Tao Jiang Yongzhi Wang 2021Cancer Biology & Medicine2021,18,1:2
9The real-time dynamic holographic display of LN:Bi,Mg crystals and defect-related electron mobility显示文摘Holographic display has attracted widespread interest because of its ability to show the complete information of the object and bring people an unprecedented sense of presence. The absence of ideal recording materials has hampered the realization of their commercial applications. Here we report that the response time of a bismuth and magnesium codoped lithium niobate(LN:Bi,Mg) crystal is shortened to 7.2 ms and a sensitivity as high as 646 cm/J. The crystal was used to demonstrate a real-time holographic display with a refresh rate of 60 Hz, as that of the popular high-definition television. 10Carbon black supported ultra-high loading silver nanoparticle catalyst for electro-oxidation and determination of hydrazine显示文摘Carbon black supported ultra-high loading silver nanoparticle catalyst (Ag/CB) was prepared by a modified ethylene glycol reduction method, using ethylene glycol as the reducing agent and sodium hydroxide as the pH adjusting agent. The X-ray diffraction, thermogravimetry and scanning electron microscopy characterizations showed that the Ag nanoparticles crystallized with a face-centered cubic structure and were densely stacked on the CB surface without aggregation, despite such a small average size (ca. 10 nm) and an ultra-high loading mass (392 wt.%). The electrochemical evaluation based on cyclic voltammetry, chronoamperometry and polarization tests revealed that the ultra-high loading Ag/CB catalyst possessed a superior electrocatalytic activity for the oxidation of hydrazine, via a diffusion-limited process and a 4-electron transfer pathway. 11Recent advances in crystalline carbon nitride for photocatalysis显示文摘Semiconductor photocatalytic technology has become one of the most important means to solve the current energy shortage and environmental pollution. Compared with the traditional photocatalysts, graphite carbon nitride has a wider range of light-harvesting and more stable physical and chemical properties. However, traditional thermally induced polymerization of nitrogen-containing precursors produces the melon-based carbon nitride solids with an amorphous or semi-crystalline structure, resulting in low conductivity and moderate photocatalytic activity. Recently, crystalline carbon nitride has attracted more and more attention in improving photocatalytic performance. Some significant progress regarding crystalline carbon nitride for the preparation of solar-fuel and environmental purification has also been made.This review describes the recent advances in the design and synthesis of crystalline carbon nitride photocatalysts. A brief description of the unique physical and chemical properties of crystalline carbon nitride was given. Later, the synthetic and modification strategies are being introduced. Then, the photocatalytic application of crystalline carbon nitride was discussed, mainly including photocatalytic H2 production,photocatalytic CO2 reduction, and photocatalytic degradation of pollutants. 19Machine learning powered ellipsometry显示文摘Ellipsometry is a powerful method for determining both the optical constants and thickness of thin films.For decades,solutions to ill-posed inverse ellipsometric problems require substantial human-expert intervention and have become essentially human-in-the-loop trial-and-error processes that are not only tedious and time-consuming but also limit the applicability of ellipsometry.Here,we demonstrate a machine learning based approach for solving ellipsometric problems in an unambiguous and fully automatic manner while showing superior performance.The proposed approach is experimentally validated by using a broad range of films covering categories of metals,semiconductors,and dielectrics.This method is compatible with existing ellipsometers and paves the way for realizing the automatic,rapid,high-throughput optical characterization of films.Jinchao Liu Di Zhang Dianqiang Yu Mengxin Ren Jingjun Xu 2021Light(Science & Applications)2021,10,4:1
