1Ground settlement of Chek Lap Kok Airport,Hong Kong,detected by satellite synthetic aperture radar interferometry显示文摘Satellite synthetic aperture radar (SAR) inter-ferometry is used to investigate the slowly accumulating ground settlement at the new Chek Lap Kok Airport in Hong Kong. Most of the land occupied by the airport was reclaimed from the sea and therefore certain ground settlement in the area has been expected. A pair of ERS-2 SAR images spanning nearly a year is used in the study. The high spatial resolution (20 m×20 m) ground settlement map derived indicates that the settlement that occurred in the area over the time period is as large as 50 mm. The SAR measurement results agree with the levelling measurements at some benchmarks in the area to well within 1 cm(rms error),and the overall correlation between the two types of results is 0.89. 3Effects of different forms of yeast Saccharomyces cerevisiae on growth performance,intestinal development,and systemic immunity in early-weaned piglets显示文摘The present study was conducted to determine effects of different forms of yeast(Saccharomyces cerevisiae,strain Y200007) on the growth performance,intestinal development,and systemic immunity in early-weaned piglets.A total of 96 piglets(14-d old,initial average body weight of 4.5 kg) were assigned to 4 dietary treatments:(1) basal diet without yeast(Control);(2) basal diet supplemented with 3.00 g/kg live yeast(LY);(3) basal diet supplemented with 2.66 g/kg heat-killed whole yeast(HKY);and(4) basal diet supplemented with 3.00 g/kg superfine yeast powders(SFY).Diets and water were provided ad libitum to the piglets during 3-week experiment.Growth performance of piglets was measured weekly.Samples of blood and small intestine were collected at days 7 and 21 of experiment.Dietary supplementation with LY and SFY improved G:F of piglets at days 1-21 of the experiment(P<0.05) compared to Control group.Serum concentrations of growth hormone(GH),triiodothyronine(T_3),tetraiodothyronine(T_4),and insulin growth factor 1(IGF-1) in piglets at day 21 of the experiment were higher when fed diets supplemented with LY and SFY than those in Control group(P < 0.05).Compared to Control group,contents of serum urea nitrogen of piglets were reduced by the 3 yeast-supplemented diets(P< 0.05).Diets supplemented with LY increased villus height and villus-to-crypt ratio in duodenum and jejunum of piglets(P < 0.05) compared to other two groups at day 7 of the experiment.Feeding diets supplemented with LY and SFY increased(P< 0.05) serum concentrations of IgA,IL-2,and IL-6 levels in piglets compared to Control.The CD4^+/CD8^+ ratio and proliferation of T-lymphocytes in piglets fed diets supplemented with LY were increased compared to that of Control group at day 7 of the experiment(P < 0.05).In conclusion,dietary supplementation with both LY and SFY enhanced feed conversion,small intestinal development,and systemic immunity in early-weaned piglets,with better improvement in feed conversion by dietary supplementation with LY,while dietary supplementation with SFY was more effective in increasing systemic immune functions in early-weaned piglets.Zongyong Jiang Shaoyong Wei Zhilin Wang Cui Zhu Shenglan Hu Chuntian Zheng Zhuang Chen Youjun Hu Li Wang Xianyong Ma Xuefen Yang 2016Journal of Animal Science and Biotechnology2016,7,1:13
4Information Theory of Cartography:An Information-theoretic Framework for Cartographic Communication显示文摘Map is one of the communication means created by human being.Cartographers have been making efforts on the comparison of maps to natural languages so as to establish a'cartographic language'or'map language'.One of such efforts is to adopt the Shannon’s Information Theory originated in digital communication into cartography so as to establish an entropy-based cartographic communication theory.However,success has been very limited although research work had started as early as the mid-1960 s.It is then found that the bottleneck problem was the lack of appropriate measures for the spatial(configurational)information of(graphic and image)maps,as the classic Shannon entropy is only capable of characterizing statistical information but fails to capture the configurational information of(graphic and image)maps.Fortunately,after over 40-year development,some bottleneck problems have been solved.More precisely,generalized Shannon entropies for metric and thematic information of(graphic)maps have been developed and the first feasible solution for computing the Boltzmann entropy of image maps has been invented,which is capable of measuring the spatial information of not only numerical images but also categorical maps.With such progress,it is now feasible to build the'Information Theory of Cartography'.In this paper,a framework for such a theory is proposed and some key issues are identified.For these issues,some have already been tackled while others still need efforts.As a result,a research agenda is set for future action.After all these issues are tackled,the theory will become matured so as to become a theoretic basis of cartography.It is expected that the Information Theory of Cartography will play an increasingly important role in the discipline of cartography because more and more researchers have advocated that information is more fundamental than matter and energy.Zhilin LI Peichao GAO Zhu XU 2021Journal of Geodesy and Geoinformation Science2021,4,1:11
5Inactivation of Cryptosporidium by ozone and cell ultrastructures显示文摘The fluorescence staining method and scanning electron microscopy (SEM) were used to study the effect of ozone (O3) inactivating Cryptosporidium in water and cell ultrastructures variation to shed light on the mechanism of inactivation preliminarily.Results indicated that O3 had a stronger inactivating capability.When the concentration of O3 was above 3.0 mg/L and the contact time was up to 7 min,a significant inactivating effect could be achieved.The turbidity on inactivation effects was also found to be statistically significant in artificial water.With increases in turbidity,the inactivating effect decreased.Inactivation rate improved with a temperature increase from 5 to 25°C,but decreased beyond this.The inactivating capability of O3 was found to be stronger under acidic than that under alkalic conditions.When the concentration of organic matter in the reaction system was increased,the competition between Cryptosporidium and organics with O3 probably took place,thereby reducing the inactivation rate.In addition,the cellular morphology of Cryptosporidium varied with different contact times.At zero contact time,cells were rotundity and sphericity,at 60 sec they became folded,underwent emboly,and burst at 480 sec,the cell membrane of Cryptosporidium shrinked and collapsed completely.Zhilin Ran Shaofeng Li Junli Huang Yixing Yuan Chongwei Cui Craig Denver Williams 2010Journal of Environmental Sciences2010,22,12:11
6Embryonic endothelial evolution towards first hematopoietic stem cells revealed by single-cell transcriptomic and functional analyses显示文摘Hematopoietic stem cells(HSCs)in adults are believed to be born from hemogenic endothelial cells(HECs)in mid-gestational embryos.Due to the rare and transient nature,the HSC-competent HECs have never been stringently identified and accurately captured,let alone their genuine vascular precursors.Here,we first used high-precision single-cell transcriptomics to unbiasedly examine the relevant EC populations at continuous developmental stages with intervals of 0.5 days from embryonic day(E)9.5 to E11.0.As a consequence,we transcriptomically identified two molecularly different arterial EC populations and putative HSCprimed HECs,whose number peaked at El 0.0 and sharply decreased thereafter,in the dorsal aorta of the aorta-gonadmesonephros(AGM)region.Combining computational prediction and in vivo functional validation,we precisely captured HSCcompetent HECs by the newly constructed Neurl3-EGFP reporter mouse model,and realized the enrichment further by a combination of surface markers(Procr+Kit+CD44+,PK44).Surprisingly,the endothelial-hematopoietic dual potential was rarely but reliably witnessed in the cultures of single HECs.Noteworthy,primitive vascular ECs from E8.0 experienced two-step fate choices to become HSC-primed HECs,namely an Initial arterial fate choice followed by a hemogenic fate conversion.This finding resolves several previously observed contradictions.Taken together,comprehensive understanding of endothelial evolutions and molecular programs underlying HSC-primed HEC specification in vivo will facilitate future investigations directing HSC production in vitro.Siyuan Hou Zongcheng Li Xiaona Zheng Yun Gao Ji Dong Yanli Ni Xiaobo Wang Yunqiao Li Xiaochen Ding Zhilin Chang Shuaili Li Yuqiong Hu Xiaoying Fan Yu Hou Lu Wen Bing Liu Fuchou Tang Yu Lan 2020Cell Research2020,30,5:8

8Mitochondria-targeted antioxidant peptide SS-31 mediates neuroprotection in a rat experimental glaucoma model显示文摘To investigate the neuroprotective effects of the mitochondria-targeted antioxidant Szeto-Schiller peptide 31 (SS-31) in a rat experimental glaucoma model, SS-31 was intraperitoneally (IP) injected into Sprague-Dawley rats, followed by intracameral injection of polystyrene microspheres to induce elevated intraocular pressure (IOP). After 6 weeks, electroretinography (ERG) and flash visual-evoked potentials (F-VEPs) were recorded to assess retinal function. Hematoxylin-eosin staining was performed on retinal cross-sections to measure ganglion cell complex (GCC) thickness. Apoptotic retinal cells were assessed by TUNEL staining. Brn3a-positive retinal ganglion cells (RGCs) were counted in retinal flat mounts via immunofluorescence. The retinal total SOD, SOD2, and MDA expression levels were assessed in retinal tissue homogenates. The cyt c, Baxz and Bcl-2 protein levels in rat retinas were detected by western blot analysis. Bax and Bcl-2 expressions were also evaluated using immunohistochemistry in paraffinized sections. Our results showed that the rats that received microsphere injection developed elevated IOP. SS-31 ameliorated the reductions in the a- and b-wave amplitudes on ERG and the F-VEP amplitude in glaucomatous eyes. GCC thickness was preserved, TUNEL-positive cells were decreased in the retina, and Brn3a-positive RGCs were in creased in the SS-31-treated glaucoma group compared with those in the non-treated glaucoma group. SS-31 significantly reduced MDA levels and increased SOD2 levels after glaucoma induction. Significant suppression of cyt c release, upregulation of Bcl-2, and downregulation of Bax were observed following SS-31 administration. 9Effects of surface roughness on CMAS corrosion behavior for thermal barrier coating applications显示文摘Calcium-magnesium-alumina-silicate (CMAS) corrosion is an important cause for thermal barrier coating (TBC) failure,which has attracted increased attentions.In this study,some thermal barrier coating (TBC) materials including YSZ (yttria partially stabilized zirconia),GdPO_(4),and LaPO_(4) were prepared into bulks,and the effects of their surface roughness on wettability and spreading characteristics of molten CMAS were investigated.As-fabricated and polished bulks with different surface roughness were exposed to CMAS corrosion at 1250 ℃ for 1 and 4 h,following by macro and micro observations.Results revealed that compared with the as-fabricated bulks,molten CMAS on the polished samples had lower wettability and a smaller spreading area,mainly attributable to the reduced capillary force to drive the melt spreading.Meanwhile,GdPO_(4) and LaPO_(4) bulks exhibited lower CMAS wettability than YSZ bulk.It is thus considered that reducing the surface roughness is beneficial to CMAS corrosion resistance of TBCs.Lei GUO Guang LI Zhilin GAN 2021Journal of Advanced Ceramics2021,10,3:7
10FDTD for plasmonics:Applications in enhanced Raman spectroscopy显示文摘The exact electromagnetic enhancement mechanism behind SERS,TERS,HERS and SHINERS is one of the issues focused on in the study of enhanced Raman spectroscopy.The three dimensional finite difference time domain method(3D-FDTD),which is widely used in nanoplasmonic simulations,not only provides us with a powerful numerical tool for theoretical studies of the ERS electromagnetic enhancement mechanism,but also serves as a useful tool for the design of ERS-active systems with higher sensitivities and spectral spatial resolution.In this paper,we first introduce the fundamental principles of FDTD algorithms,and then the size-dependent dielectric function of dispersive metallic material is discussed.A comparative study of FDTD and rigorous Mie evaluations of electromagnetic fields in the vicinity of a system of self-similar nanospheres shows an excellent correlation between the two computational methods,directly confirming the validity and accuracy of 3D-FDTD simulations in ERS calculations.Finally,we demonstrate,using a TERS calculation as an example,that the non-uniform mesh method can be more computationally efficient without loss of accuracy if it is applied correctly.YANG ZhiLin LI QianHong RUAN FangXiong LI ZhiPeng REN Bin XU HongXing TIAN ZhongQun 2010Chinese Science Bulletin2010,55,24:6

12Study on Rollover Index and Stability for a Triaxle Bus显示文摘Vehicle rollover, and its resulting fatalities, is an actively researched topic especially for multi-axle vehicles in the field of vehicle dynamics and control. This paper first presents a new rollover index for a triaxle bus to accurately evaluate its rollover possibility and then discusses the influence laws of the vehicle rollover dynamics to explore the mechanism of its stability. First, a six degree of freedom rollover model of the triaxle bus is developed, including lateral, yaw, roll motion of the sprung mass of the front/rear axle, and roll motion of the unsprung mass of the front/rear axle. Next, some key parameters of the vehicle rollover model are identified. A new rollover index is deduced according to the basics of vehicle dynamics, to predict vehicle rollover risk for the triaxle bus, which is verified by TruckSim. Furthermore, the influence laws of vehicle rollover dynamics by vehicle parameters and road parameters are discussed based on the simulation results. More importantly, the results show that the new method of modeling can precisely describe the rollover dynamics of the studied bus, and the proposed new index can e ectively evaluate the rollover possibility. 15De novo assembly of a Tibetan genome and identification of novel structural variants associated with high-altitude adaptation显示文摘Structural variants(SVs) may play important roles in human adaptation to extreme environments such as high altitude but have been under-investigated. Here, combining long-read sequencing with multiple scaffolding techniques, we assembled a high-quality Tibetan genome(ZF1), with a contig N50 length of 24.57 mega-base pairs(Mb) and a scaffold N50 length of 58.80 Mb. The ZF1 assembly filled 80 remaining N-gaps(0.25 Mb in total length) in the reference human genome(GRCh38). Markedly, we detected17 900 SVs, among which the ZF1-specific SVs are enriched in GTPase activity that is required for activation of the hypoxic pathway. Further population analysis uncovered a 163-bp intronic deletion in the MKL1 gene showing large divergence between highland Tibetans and lowland Han Chinese. This deletion is significantly associated with lower systolic pulmonary arterial pressure, one of the key adaptive physiological traits in Tibetans. Moreover, with the use of the high-quality de novo assembly, we observed a much higher rate of genome-wide archaic hominid(Altai Neanderthal and Denisovan) shared non-reference sequences in ZF1(1.32%–1.53%) compared to other East Asian genomes(0.70%–0.98%),reflecting a unique genomic composition of Tibetans. One such archaic hominid shared sequence-a662-bp intronic insertion in the SCUBE2 gene-is enriched and associated with better lung function(the FEV1/FVC ratio) in Tibetans. 16On the applicability of Kirchoff's law and the principle of heat balance in thermal infrared remote sensing:A non-isothermal system显示文摘This paper proposes a basic equation of thermal radiation interaction between surface objects on the basis of the principle of heat balance in the interface. The solution of this equation takes account of the contribution of sensible heat flux and latent heat flux more completely, compared with traditional solution for surface cooling and heating processes. By the aid of the experimental data conducted in the Xiaotangshan experimental site, Beijing, both the non-applicability of Kirchoff's law and the measurability of surface emissivity in a non-isothermal system have been highlighted. Two methods called ventilation and time-delay compensations have been proposed to reduce the error induced by change of surface temperatures of non-isothermal objects during the measurement of emissivity. 17Dynamic blood single-cell immune responses in patients with COVID-19显示文摘The 2019 coronavirus disease(COVID-19)outbreak caused by the SARS-CoV-2 virus is an ongoing global health emergency.However,the virus'pathogenesis remains unclear,and there is no cure for the disease.We investigated the dynamic changes of blood immune response in patients with COVID-19 at different stages by using 5'gene expression,T cell receptor(TCR),and B cell receptors(BCR)V(D)J transcriptome analysis at a single-cell resolution.We obtained single-cell mRNA sequencing(scRNA-seq)data of 341,420 peripheral blood mononuclear cells(PBMCs)and 185,430 donotypic T cells and 28,802 donotypic B cells from 25 samples of 16 patients with COVID-19 for dynamic studies.In addition,we used three control samples.We found expansion of dendritic cells(DCs),CD14+monocytes,and megakaryocytes progenitor cells(MP)/platelets and a reduction of naive CD4+T lymphocytes in patients with COVID-19,along with a significant decrease of CD8+T lymphocytes,and natural killer cells(NKs)in patients in critical condition.The type I interferon(IFN-I),mitogen-activated protein kinase(MAPK),and ferroptosis pathways were activated while the disease was active,and recovered gradually after patient conditions improved.Consistent with this finding,the mRNA level of IFN-I signal-induced gene IFI27 was significantly increased in patients with COVID-19 compared with that of the controls in a validation cohort that included 38 patients and 35 controls.The concentration of interferon-a(IFN-a)in the serum of patients with COVID-19 increased significantly compared with that of the controls in an additional cohort of 215 patients with COVID-19 and 106 controls,further suggesting the important role of the IFN-I pathway in the immune response of COVID-19.TCR and BCR sequences analyses indicated that patients with COVID-19 developed specific immune responses against SARS-CoV-2 antigens.Our study reveals a dynamic landscape of human blood immune responses to SARS-CoV-2 infection,providing clues for therapeutic potentials in treating COVID-19.Lulin Huang Yi Shi Bo Gong Li Jiang Zhixin Zhang Xiaoqi Liu Jialiang Yang Yongquan He Zhilin Jiang Ling Zhong Juan Tang Chunfang You Qi Jiang Bo Long Tao Zeng Mei Luo Fanwei Zeng Fanxin Zeng Shuqiang Wang Xingxiang Yang Zhenglin Yang 2021Signal Transduction and Targeted Therapy2021,6,4:4
18Rollover Prevention and Motion Planning for an Intelligent Heavy Truck显示文摘It is very necessary for an intelligent heavy truck to have the ability to prevent rollover independently.However,it was rarely considered in intelligent vehicle motion planning.To improve rollover stability,a motion planning strategy with autonomous anti rollover ability for an intelligent heavy truck is put forward in this paper.Considering the influence of unsprung mass in the front axle and the rear axle and the body roll stiffness on vehicle rollover stability,a rollover dynamics model is built for the intelligent heavy truck.From the model,a novel rollover index is derived to evaluate vehicle rollover risk accurately,and a model predictive control algorithm is applicated to design the motion planning strategy for the intelligent heavy truck,which integrates the vehicle rollover stability,the artificial potential field for the obstacle avoidance,the path tracking and vehicle dynamics constrains.Then,the optimal path is obtained to meet the requirements that the intelligent heavy truck can avoid obstacles and drive stably without rollover.In addition,three typical scenarios are designed to numerically simulate the dynamic performance of the intelligent heavy truck.The results show that the proposed motion planning strategy can avoid collisions and improve vehicle rollover stability effectively even under the worst driving scenarios.Zhilin Jin Jingxuan Li Hong Wang Jun Li Chaosheng Huang 2021Chinese Journal of Mechanical Engineering2021,34,5:4
19Mathematical model study on the damage of the liquid phase to productivity in the gas reservoir with a bottom water zone显示文摘The production process in the gas reservoir with an aquifer is complex.With gas production,aquifer water could possibly flow into the production well and accumulate within the well bore,which leads to a lower production rate and may even block the producer.However,few studies in the literature investigate the damage caused by the liquid phase in this kind of reservoir or predict gas productivity using the relationship between reservoir pressure and water gas ratio(WGR).For this reason,it is important to know the effects of the formation of liquid phase behavior on production when an aquifer is present under a gas reservoir.From the results of published literature reviews,we found that studies focused on the production of a gas reservoir with bottom water.Nevertheless,for gas well damage from the liquid phase behavior,we found that there was no statistical data or mathematical model of the relationship between reservoir pressure and the gas oil ratio(GOR),which affects production.In this research,based on the theory of fluid flow in porous media,a new mathematical model of water and gas production and a new equation on gas well productivity is developed.To verify the model and equation,gas production data collected from the field are applied.By analyzing the typical gas reservoir with bottom water and the collected data,influences from the liquid phase behavior are shown.In this way,mathematical relationships between reservoir pressure and the WGR and between the GOR and production decline were obtained.The new gas productivity model is derived from the gas and water pseudo pressure functions,which can be applied to analyze well damage caused by the liquid phase.In order to verify the mathematical model,production data were collected from a typical gas reservoir with an aquifer located in the Changxing gas reservoir.The results indicate that a semi-logarithmic linear relationship is obtained between the WGR and productivity decrease.When the WGR increases from 0.5 to 15m3/104m3,damage caused by liquid phase decreases to 59%.The tendency of gas productivity in the Changxing gas reservoir was obtained so that it decreases as reservoir pressure decreases and increases as the WGR decreases.The gradient of the gas productivity deduction increases as the WGR increases.By the end of the data analysis,two linear equations indicating the relationship between gas productivity and reservoir pressure and the relationship between gas productivity and the water gas ratio are obtained:QAOF?A1lnWGRB1 and QAOF?A2lnPB2,respectively.Xiaoliang Huang Xiao Guo Xinqian Lu Xiang Zhou Zhilin Qi Wende Yan Jiqiang Li 2018Petroleum2018,4,2:4
20Pt/WO_3/C nanocomposite with parallel WO_3 nanorods as cathode catalyst for proton exchange membrane fuel cells显示文摘Pt/WO3/C nanocomposites with parallel WO3 nanorods were synthesized and applied as the cathode catalyst for proton exchange membrane fuel cells(PEMFCs). Electrochemical results and single cell tests show that an enhanced activity for the oxygen reduction reaction(ORR) is obtained for the Pt/WO3/C catalyst compared with Pt/C. The higher catalytic activity might be ascribed to the improved Pt dispersion with smaller particle sizes. The Pt/WO3/C catalyst also exhibits a good electrochemical stability under potential cycling.
