1Microclimatic characteristics of the Heihe oasis in the hyperarid zone of China显示文摘The microclimate of a desert oasis in hyperarid zone of China was monitored using micrometeorological methods and compared with those of areas adjacent to forested land. Differences in ground-level photosynthetically active radiation (PAR) on clear, cloudy and dust storm days and their subtending causes are analysed and discussed. Desert oases serve the ecological functions of altering solar radiation, adjusting near-ground and land surface temperatures, reducing soil temperature differences, lowering wind velocity, and increasing soil and atmospheric humidity. The total solar radiation in the interior of the oasis was roughly half of that outside a forest canopy. During the growing season, air temperatures in Populus euphratica Oliv. (poplar) and Tamarix ramosissima Ledeb. (tamarisk) forests were 1.62 °C and 0.83 °C lower respectively than those in the areas around the forests. Furthermore, the taller the forest cover, the greater the temperature drops; air temperatures in the upper storey were greater than those in the lower storey, i.e., air temperature rose with increasing height. Over the growing season, the relative humidities of the air in the poplar and tamarisk forests were 8.5% and 4.2% higher respectively than those in areas around the forests. Mean wind velocity in poplar-forested lands was 0.33 m s-1, 2.31 m s-1 lower than that in the surrounding area. 7Spatiotemporal variation and driving factors of water yield services on the Qingzang Plateau显示文摘Water resources are a basic need for social sustainable development and human existence.As an important national strategy for water resources security,spatial and temporal patterns and driving mechanisms of water yield ecosystem services on the Qingzang Plateau(QP)are critical for water resources management,optimal water allocation and the improvement of ecological water protection efficiency.However,only a few relevant studies are currently available.In this study,we simulated the water yield(WY)of the QP over 34 years,from 1982 to 2015,using the InVEST model and analyzed the spatiotemporal dynamic relationships between WY and climate change as well as between WY and vegetation change,using geographically weighted regression(GWR)models.The results showed that:1)from 1982 to 2015,the WY of the QP increased at an average rate of 3.8 mm/yr;2)WY presented a reduced spatial pattern from southeast to northwest;and 3)the WY driving factors have individual and spatial differences.In terms of the area percentage in promoting WY when analyzing each driving factor,precipitation(99.8%)and air pressure(53.3%)played the major roles in promoting WY,while temperature(71.9%),wind speed(57.2%),net primary productivity(87.2%),radiation(68.3%)and lake(87.7%)played negative roles.The areas where WY are dominated by temperature are the largest(41.1%),and followed by areas dominated by pressure(19.7%)and precipitation(18.5%).The results of this study provide scientific support for formulating regional water resources policy,social and economic development planning and other macro decisions for the QP.Xiaofeng Wang Bingyang Chu Xiaoming Feng Yuehao Li Bojie Fu Shirong Liu Jiming Jin 2021Geography and Sustainability2021,2,1:1

9Growth and Characteristics of n-VO2/p-GaN based Heterojunctions显示文摘n-VO2/p-GaN based oxide-nitride heterojunctions were realized by growing high quality VO2 films with precisely controlled thickness on p-GaN/sapphire substrates by oxide molecular beam epitaxy(O-MBE).The high crystalline quality of the n-VO2/p-GaN heterojunctions were confirmed by X-ray diffraction(XRD)and scanning electron microscope(SEM)analysis.The phase transition characteristics of the as-grown n-VO2/p-GaN heterojunctions were systematically investigated by temperature-dependent resistivity and infrared transmittance measurements.The results indicated that an excellent reversible metal-to-insulator(MIT)transition is observed with an abrupt change in both resistivity and infrared transmittance(IR)at 330 K,which was lower than the 341 K for bulk single crystal VO2.Remarkably,the resistivity-temperature curve was well consistent with that obtained from the temperature dependent IR transmittance.Meanwhile,the current-voltage characteristics originated from the n-VO2/p-GaN interface were demonstrated both before and after MIT of VO2 overlayer,which were attributed to the p-n junction behavior and Schottky contact character,respectively.The design and modulation of the n-VO2/p-GaN based heterostructure devices will benefit significantly from these achievements.ZHANG Yadong ZHANG Bingye WANG Minhuan FENG Yulin BIAN Jiming 2020Journal of Wuhan University of Technology(Materials Science)2020,35,2:1

11Discrete element method study of parameter optimization and particle mixing behaviour in a soil mixer显示文摘Soil mixing is an emerging research in the field of construction resource recovery.In this study,the mixing behaviour of soil particles in a mixer is numerically simulated by the discrete element method(DEM).A four-factor,three-level orthogonal experiment is designed to optimize the mixer design by selecting the fly-cutter speed,spindle speed,number of blades and fly-cutter diameter,using Lacey mixing index and power consumption as evaluation indicators.Then,the impact of soil cohesion and type on the mixing behaviour is investigated.The results show that the optimal parameter combination of this experiment is 280 rpm fly-cutter speed,40 rpm spindle speed,4 blades and 250 mm fly-cutter diameter.This optimal combination reaches a comparatively uniform state mix in 5.9 s with an average power consumption of 704.11 W.In addition,the wear and tear of the mixer increases as soil cohesion increases,while the mixing quality of materials declines,resulting in a“shaft hugging”phenomenon.The mixing efficiency varies greatly among different soil types,but the radial and tangential velocities have a similar law.This work can provide some guidance for the optimization design of a mixer and study of soil mixing.Ming Bao Jiming Lin Feng Zhang Jianhong Yang 2023Particuology2023,,10:0

13Disposing Status and Control Countermeasures of Pesticide Packaging Wastes in Tobacco Producing Area in Yunnan Province显示文摘Pesticide packaging wastes pose a serious hazard to the agricultural production environment and the quality of agricultural products. The investigation for2 consecutive years in Jietou Region of Tengchong County,a major tobacco planting area in Yunan,showed that:(1) More than 80% of the pesticides purchased by farmers were used for tobacco cultivation,which was 4 times that of conventional crops planting,and most of the packaging materials were plastic bags;(2) The main way for farmers to dispose plastic bags was to burn or discard them in the field garbage collection baskets;(3) In combination with field surveys,an average of 4.54 pieces of pesticide packaging wastes were scattered around every 667 m^2 of tobacco field. In addition,the number reduced significantly after carrying out pesticide packaging wastes recycling and control project at the local smoke station. At the same time,the average number of pesticide packaging wastes in the field collection baskets increased. 14Distillation Sequence Optimization Considering Extractive Distillation under Multiple Conditions: A Methanol to Propylene Case Study显示文摘This study provides insights into the distillation sequence optimization of refinery system in a methanol to propylene plant with extractive distillation under multiple conditions. The simulated annealing algorithm(SA) with relative cost function was used to solve a meaningful optimization problem. It was observed that different conditions had differed on the flowsheet.
