Flexible ITO-free organic solar cells over 10% by employing drop-coated conductive PEDOT:PSS transparent anodes显示文摘Highly conductive poly(3,4-ethylenedioxythiophene):poly(styrene-sulfonic acid)(PEDOT:PSS) has been explored to fabricate flexible and stretchable conductors. Generally, PEDOT:PSS transparent anodes are prepared by spin-coating method. In this article, we adopt a method by dropping PEDOT:PSS aqueous solution on the PET plastic substrate to fabricate flexible electrodes. Compared with spin coating, drop-coating is simple and cost-effective with large-area fabrications. Through this method, we fabricated highly transparent conductive electrodes and systematically studied their electrical, optical, morphological and mechanical properties. With dimethyl sulfoxide/methanesulfonic acid(DMSO/MSA) treated PEDOT:PSS electrode, bendable devices based on non-fullerene system displayed an open-circuit voltage of 0.925 V, a fill factor of 70.74%, and a high power conversion efficiency(PCE) of 10.23% under 100 mW cm^(-2) illumination, which retained over 80% of the initial PCE value after 1000 bending cycles. Based on the findings, drop-coated PEDOT:PSS electrodes exhibited high suitability for the development of large-area and high-efficiency printed solar cell modules in the future.Huiqin Cui Wei Song Billy Fanady Ruixiang Peng Jianfeng Zhang Jiaming Huang Ziyi Ge 2019Science China Chemistry2019,62,4:3
The nucleocapsid protein of rice stripe virus in cell nuclei of vector insect regulates viral replication显示文摘Rice stripe virus(RSV)transmitted by the small brown planthopper causes severe rice yield losses in Asian countries.Although viral nuclear entry promotes viral replication in host cells, whether this phenomenon occurs in vector cells remains unknown. Therefore,in this study,we systematically evaluated the presence and roles of RSV in the nuclei of vector insect cells. We observed that the nucleocapsid protein(NP)and viral genomic RNAs were partially transported into vector cell nuclei by utilizing the importin a nuclear transport system. When blocking NP nuclear localization, cytoplasmic RSV accumulation significantly increased. In the vector cell nuclei,NP bound the transcription factor YY1 and affected its positive regulation to FAIM.Subsequently, decreased FAIM expression triggered an antiviral caspase-dependent apoptotic reaction. Our results reveal that viral nuclear entry induces completely different immune effects in vector and host cells, providing new insights into the balance between viral load and the immunity pressure in vector insects.Wan Zhao Junjie Zhu Hong Lu Jiaming Zhu Fei Jiang Wei Wang Lan Luo Le Kang Feng Cui 2022Protein & Cell2022,13,5:2
Recent progress and future perspectives of flexible metal‐air batteries显示文摘With the rapid development of wearable and intelligent flexible electronic devices(FEDs),the demand for flexible energy storage/conversion devices(ESCDs)has also increased.Rechargeable flexible metal‐air batteries(MABs)are expected to be one of the most ideal ESCDs due to their high theoretical energy density, cost advantage, and strong deformation adaptability. With the improvement of the device design, material assemblies, and manufacturing technology, the research on the electrochemical performance of flexible MABs has made significant progress. However, achieving the high mechanical flexibility, high safety, and wearable comfortability required by FEDs while maintaining the high performance of flexible MABs are still a daunting challenge. In this review, flexible Zn‐air and Li‐air batteries are mainly exemplified to describe the most recent progress and challenges of flexible MABs.We start with an overview of the structure and configuration of the flexible MABs and discuss their impact on battery performance and function. Then it focuses on the research progress of flexible metal anodes, gel polymer electrolytes, and air cathodes. Finally, the main challenges and future research perspectives involving flexible MABs for FEDs are proposed.Tingzhen Li Xinwen Peng Peng Cui Ge Shi Wu Yang Zehong Chen Yongfa Huang Yongkang Chen Jinyuan Peng Ren Zou Xiaoyan Zeng Jian Yu Jianyun Gan Zhiyuan Mu Yuling Chen Jiaming Zeng Juan Liu Yunyi Yang Yujia Wei Jun Lu 2021SmartMat2021,2,4:1
Diverse transcriptional patterns of homoeologous recombinant transcripts in triploid fish(Cyprinidae)显示文摘Homoeologous recombination(HR),the exchange of homoeologous chromosomes, contributes to subgenome adaptation to diverse environments by producing various phenotypes. However, the potential relevance of HR and innate immunity is rarely described in triploid cyprinid fish species. In our study, two allotriploid genotypes(R_(2)C and RC_(2)),whose innate immunity was stronger than their inbred parents(Carassius auratus red var.and Cyprinus carpio L.),were obtained from backcrossing between male allotetraploids of C.auratus red var.×C.carpio L.and females of their two inbred parents, respectively. The work detected 140 HRs shared between the two triploids at the genomic level.Further, transcriptions of 54 homoeologous recombinant genes(HRGs)in R_(2)C and 65 HRGs in RC_(2) were detected using both Illumina and PacBio data. Finally,by comparing expressed recombinant reads to total expressed reads in each of the genes,a range of 0.1%-10% was observed in most of the 99-193 HRGs,of which six recombinant genes were classified as'response to stimulus'.These results not only provide a novel way to predict HRs in allopolyploids based on cross prediction at both genomic and transcriptional levels, but also insight into the potential relationship between HRs related to innate immunity and adaptation of the triploids and allotetraploids.Li Ren Xueyin Zhang Jiaming Li Xiaojing Yan Xin Gao Jialin Cui Chenchen Tang Shaojun Liu 2021Science China(Life Sciences)2021,64,9:0
Mechanisms of PiT2-loop7 Missense Mutations Induced Pi Dyshomeostasis显示文摘PiT2 is an inorganic phosphate(Pi)transporter whose mutations are linked to primary familial brain calcification(PFBC).PiT2 mainly consists of two ProDom(PD)domains and a large intracellular loop region(loop7).The PD domains are crucial for the Pi transport, but the role of PiT2-loop7 remains unclear. In PFBC patients, mutations in PiT2-loop7 are mainly nonsense or frameshift mutations that probably cause PFBC due to C-PD1131 deletion. To date, six missense mutations have been identified in PiT2-loop7;however,the mechanisms by which these mutations cause PFBC are poorly understood. Here,we found that the p.T390A and p.S434W mutations in PiT2-loop7 decreased the Pi transport activity and cell surface levels of PiT2.Furthermore,we showed that these two mutations attenuated its membrane localization by affecting adenosine monophosphate-activated protein kinase(AMPK)-or protein kinase B(AKT)-mediated PiT2 phosphorylation. In contrast, the p.S121C and p.S601W mutations in the PD domains did not affect PiT2 phosphorylation but rather impaired its substrate-binding abilities. These results suggested that missense mutations in PiT2-loop7 can cause Pi dyshomeostasis by affecting the phosphorylation-regulated cell-surface localization of PiT2.This study helps understand the pathogenesis of PFBC caused by PiT2-loop7 missense mutations and indicates that increasing the phosphorylation levels of PiT2-loop7 could be a promising strategy for developing PFBC therapies.Hao Sun Xuan Xu Junyu Luo Tingbin Ma Jiaming Cui Mugen Liu Bo Xiong Shujia Zhu Jing-Yu Liu 2023Neuroscience Bulletin2023,39,1:0
Room-temperature multiple ligands-tailored SnO_(2) quantum dots endow in situ dual-interface binding for upscaling efficient perovskite photovoltaics with high V_(OC)显示文摘The benchmark tin oxide(SnO_(2))electron transporting layers(ETLs)have enabled remarkable progress in planar perovskite solar cell(PSCs).However, the energy loss is still a challenge due to the lack of“hidden interface”control. We report a novel ligand-tailored ultrafine SnO_(2) quantum dots(QDs)via a facile rapid room temperature synthesis.Importantly, the ligand-tailored SnO_(2) QDs ETL with multi-functional terminal groups in situ refines the buried interfaces with both the perovskite and transparent electrode via enhanced interface binding and perovskite passivation. These novel ETLs induce synergistic effects of physical and chemical interfacial modulation and preferred perovskite crystallization-directing,delivering reduced interface defects, suppressed non-radiative recombination and elongated charge carrier lifetime.Power conversion efficiency(PCE)of 23.02%(0.04 cm^(2))and 21.6%(0.98 cm^(2),V_(OC) loss:0.336 V)have been achieved for the blade-coated PSCs(1.54 eV E_(g))with our new ETLs,representing a record for SnO_(2) based blade-coated PSCs.Moreover,a substantially enhanced PCE(V_(OC))from 20.4%(1.15 V)to 22.8%(1.24 V,90 mV higher V_(OC),0.04 cm^(2) device)in the blade-coated 1.61 eV PSCs system, via replacing the benchmark commercial colloidal SnO_(2) with our new ETLs.Zhiwei Ren Kuan Liu Hanlin Hu Xuyun Guo Yajun Gao Patrick W.K.Fong Qiong Liang Hua Tang Jiaming Huang Hengkai Zhang Minchao Qin Li Cui Hrisheekesh Thachoth Chandran Dong Shen Ming-Fai Lo Annie Ng Charles Surya Minhua Shao Chun-Sing Lee Xinhui Lu Frédéric Laquai Ye Zhu Gang Li 2021Light(Science & Applications)2021,10,12:0

SARS-CoV-2 spike host cell surface exposure promoted by a COPI sorting inhibitor显示文摘Via an insufficient coat protein complex I(COPI)retrieval signal, the majority of SARSCo V-2 spike(S)is resident in host early secretory organelles and a tiny amount is leaked out in cell surface.Only surface-exposed S can be recognized by B cell receptor(BCR)or anti-S therapeutic monoclonal antibodies(m Abs)that is the trigger step for B cell activation after S m RNA vaccination or infected cell clearance by S m Abs.Now,a drug strategy to promote S host surface exposure is absent. Here,we first combined structural and biochemical analysis to characterize S COPI sorting signals.A potent S COPI sorting inhibitor was then invented, evidently capable of promoting S surface exposure and facilitating infected cell clearance by S antibody-dependent cellular cytotoxicity(ADCC).Importantly, with the inhibitor as a probe,we revealed Omicron BA.1 S is less cell surface exposed than prototypes because of a constellation of S folding mutations, possibly corresponding to its ER chaperone association. Our findings not only suggest COPI is a druggable target against COVID-19,but also highlight SARS-Co V-2 evolution mechanism driven by S folding and trafficking mutations.Yiqun Li Mingrui Yang Yanan Nan Jiaming Wang Sanjiao Wang Dongxiao Cui Jiajian Guo Pengfei He Wenxin Dai Shuqi Zhou Yue Zhang Wenfu Ma 2023Acta Pharmaceutica Sinica B2023,13,7:0
Quantitative analysis of the intertube coupling effect on the photoluminescence characteristics of distinct(n,m)carbon nanotubes dispersed in solution显示文摘In this work,we quantitatively studied the intertube coupling of different(n,m)-sorted semiconducting single-wall carbon nanotubes(SWCNTs)on their photoluminescence(PL)efficiencies by precisely tuning the ratio of(9,4)and(6,5)SWCNTs in the mixture.A significant decrease in the PL intensity of(9,4)SWCNTs was observed after mixing with(6,5)species when fixing the(9,4)concentration,which was confirmed to be caused by the absorption of incident photons and reabsorption of the emitted photons by the added(6,5)species.By contrast,a similar decrease in the PL intensity of(6,5)SWCNTs was also observed after mixing with the larger-diameter(9,4)species.Different from that of(9,4)SWCNTs,the PL decrease of(6,5)SWCNTs was found to originate not only from photon absorption and reabsorption by the(9,4)species but also from one-way exciton energy transfer(EET)from the(6,5)SWCNTs to the larger-diameter(9,4)SWCNTs.Both the experimental results and numerical simulations further demonstrated that increasing the concentration of mixed(9,4)SWCNTs would enhance the effects of photon absorption and reabsorption and EET on the PL intensity of(6,5)SWCNTs quantified by the decrease ratio of the(6,5)PL intensity.Meanwhile, the influence of EET was found to be always weaker than that of photon absorption and reabsorption. We proposed that the observed EET between isolated SWCNTs in a surfactant solution is derived from their proximity due to Brownian motion.Shilong Li Dehua Yang Jiaming Cui Yanchun Wang Xiaojun Wei Weiya Zhou Hiromichi Kataura Sishen Xie Huaping Liu 2020Nano Research2020,13,4:0
